Used my new #genroundbottlecutter to slice up a #redstripe bottle to make a self-watering planter. The bottom part holds water that is wicked up a cotton cord through the bottle cap into the soil. Got a little foxtail fern and some moss in the inverted top part. Played my with my @genroundllc bottle cutter today and was successful for the first time! I’ve done a couple of attempts previously but could never get the glass to break along my etch line. The first trial, couldn’t get them to break AT ALL and the second, they all cracked off the etch line. Today I measured everything verrrrry carefully(including the positions of the rollers, those are tricky to make uniform), etched as lightly as I could, and used extra hot(almost boiling) water for my hot temp bath. Out of 4 bottles I got two perfect breaks and two wacky cracks. Huzzah! Can’t wait to post some pics of the project I have planned for these slices!
