I'm seeing a LOT of my fellow white queer people defending genocide in Palestine because you know as long as a Democrat is letting the trans genocide happen they might step in just enough to protect white trans people.
Republican's won't step in at all, so your scared.
Good.
Be scared.
Be very scared. You've been happily ignoring this problem, thinking voting every 2 years is enough.
Now it is coming for your ass.
White queer people have been choosing our comfort over liberation and now the consequence of that choice are coming home to roost and we are all going to pay.
We could band together and demand a better candidate but y'all won't do that because that takes effort.
So you demand we support the status quo because you want to stay comfortable. Some of us have been uncomfortable for a long time.
#us politics#democrats#if you think this is acceleratism you have no concept of how bad things already are in the US#genocide doesn't get worse or better depending on the political party doing it#none of us pointing this out are 'happy' about it#we just see reality and we are listening to Black women#they are tired of saving our asses while Biden happily lets cops murder Black people

The ponies and I have voted: Did you?
Today is the final day to turn in your ballot for the US presidential elections as well as for several other major issues!
I know many people want to refrain from voting because they don't like either of the candidates, or they're looking at the polls and not feeling worried because of the predictions, or they think "I'm just one person so one vote isn't going to make a difference."
That is how elections are lost. Last major election 80,000,000 eligible Americans didn't vote. Can you imagine the influence those votes could have had if those people DID bother to show up? I also hate to break it to yall, but a lot of the people who do show up to the polls are old folks who happen to be extreme Republicans. More people in America identify as Democrats than Republicans (according to 2020 gallup polling... Or should i say gallop because im a pony blog-) but Republicans manage to win elections because they bother to show up. Please don't let your voice be wasted when you're lucky enough to have a say
To anyone who doesn't want to vote for Kamala Harris because she does suck, as she supports the genocide of innocent Palestinian civilians: You are kidding yourself if you think Trump will be any better. He not only supports the same exact genocide, but in addition he and the Republican party want to infringe upon human rights and we will be royally screwed over if he gets elected. Please research "Project 2025" and the horrific plans they have for America if they are elected. It fucking sucks that we have to choose between two evils, but please do what you can to make life better.
Here in Colorado for example, one of the issues on the ballot was related to removing the ban on same sex marraige. That is not the only issue being voted on right now: there are issues related to healthcare, the increase of police funding (and therefore police brutality, which will make life worse for any American who is POC or a minority in any way), issues related to disability, transphobic laws, women's rights, ect. It depends on your state which propositions are being votes on. If you care about any of these issues, GO VOTE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
To anyone who is ineligible to vote (due to being too young, not being US American, ect) , we understand and hope you will support voters by spreading whatever information you can
Its not too late to make a difference!
Sorry to go all political. Except im not sorry at all. this is my blog i do what i want

If/when trump wins and ramps up the genocide on Palestinians plus starts several others (notably queer and non-white people in the usa, but helping war crimes on Ukraine by Putin is bound to be a thing as well) none of you better speak a single word about how you couldn't know it would make things worse. This is the guy who wanted to mark Muslims and who implied that with him in power he'd have done something pre-emptively to prevent october 7th. This is the guy who epitomises the usamerican extreme far-right and none of you better pretend you thought that the far-right extremists would be any less imperialists.
There's no world in which doing something to keep him out of power, is agreeing with genocide. There's no world in which enabling or supporting his access to power, is taking a stance against it.
He's in the top three people on Earth who want the most genocide, depending on who you place where. Biden is a monster, but the monster he is is the known quantity that is american imperialist cruelty. He doesn't add his own bloodlust to it any more than he fights his bloodlust. He's perfectly fine to go along with it. Trump just wants to follow the typical steps of fascism that rely on the enemies within and without, to root out and exterminate, forever. His entire party is chanting for extermination and christofascism.
Either of them would have done at least what Biden did. Of course they shouldn't, but the election isn't about who should do what, it's about who gets power. And if you let the worse one win because you've caught the other be bad red-handed, your political affiliation is not "left," it's "whoever made an impression on you last."

This is an important fact about politics.
There is not always a better option, but there is always a worse option.
Please understand this.
Biden is not perfect, and depending on your point of view he may not even be ideal, but he is good. He has worked to meet railworker needs, he has tried to get things moving on multiple fronts, and he doesn't seek the spotlight for his actions. He is doing what he is capable of doing within the legal confines of his position to address the issues with the genocide in Palestine.
Here's the thing though, and clearly y'all need the civics lesson here. Biden, acting as President, within the confines of the actions the President is capable of taking, cannot fix everything. Cannot fix anything, if the checks and balances in place from the judicial branch (currently staffed largely by Trumpists and republican stooges) and the legislative branch (currently being utterly stonewalled by republican fascists) do not allow him to. The President and executive branch sets the policy and the direction, Congress and the legislative branch execute the policy (or refuse to), and the SCOTUS and judicial branch determine the legality (or lack thereof).
That's how it works.
Trump is bad. Full stop. He is a raging asshole, an unrepentant womanizer, a sexual abuser, a con artist, a rampant narcissist, and absolutely incapable of thinking for five seconds strung together about anything other than himself and how something will benefit him personally, even and especially if it hurts absolutely everyone else. A fascist son of a fascist that idolizes other fascists. A man without an inkling of compassion or willingness to follow due process. This man is not a president. He's not even a dictator. He's worse than that. He does not care if the government remains functional, if people live or die, as long as he gets everything he wants.
There are no equivalencies here. One party is not as bad as the other. One president is not as bad as the other. One president and one party are in every conceivable way substantially worse for absolutely everyone than the other one is.
People are talking about not voting for Biden.
Again.
I'm just so tired of this argument.
I just can't do Trump again.
I can't.
His incompetence killed so many people. A panel estimated 40% of COVID deaths could have been averted.
One of those deaths was my mother.
She was killed because people didn't trust the vaccines and they didn't think masks were worth the inconvenience. That man could have gone on TV and said "This is the Trump vaccine and it is great." He could have sold fucking MAGA masks on his website. He had 100% influence over his dipshit followers and could have used that for the greater good. But he was too vain to wear a mask in public and bungled the vaccine rollout.
And now I worry some of my trans loved ones may not make it through another far right administration. They have this giant target on their back right now and conservatives seem determined to eradicate as many trans lives as possible.
I wrote a whole ass post about how I didn't care for Biden. I still don't. But when I try to imagine what a right wing administration would be doing right now... that seems like it would be a nightmare orders of magnitude worse than the current nightmare.
As someone with an untreatable chronic illness, I know the feeling of being presented with choices where all of them suck. And I have had to survive by choosing the least sucky option over and over.
It feels bad every single time.
I hate it.
And I still fucking choose.
It should be different. There should be better choices. I shouldn't have to choose the least bad thing among all bad things.
But there are people and things in this world I feel are worth sticking around for, so I continue to choose the least sucky thing.
