[I know that I’m at least 1 person who falls into both categories lol]. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it if you’re into comedy horror, o even listen to the soundtrack at the very least

i’m struggling to put it into words but something about the hole in the mask at the end really sticks with me. it’s gotta be an artistic and meaningful choice. i was stuck for a while but i couldn’t figure out why but i think i’ve got it.

ranboo knows that a considerable amount of people want a face reveal, that some even go as far as to try and find personal information/photos of them without a mask.

he was smart with this, the position of the hole doesn’t show us much, the blood obscures their face a lot, and the lights from the mask creates contrast that puts their face in shadow. but we know they’re purposefully showing us this, you can see the movement of his jaw as they talk.

they’ve managed to perfectly walk the line of showing us something without actually giving us anything.

it feels like he’s going “here, since you want this so bad, fucking take it.” it’s spiteful, it’s mockery, it’s taking some control where others keep trying to push their boundaries.

especially given the themes in generation loss about being forced to appeal to an audience and being controlled by the audience. it’s so powerful, fucking hell.

Could you tell a bit more about the genloss au? Referencing the art piece where the goobers are in the car

Oh good god. I haven't been here in a good while but uh. So the genloss au I made with my friends (rem and ash) started way back in August, it's pretty long but we sorta finished it for now. The basics are these:

Basically rgbtrio escapes show fall and goes into hiding for a while but hetch ends up finding them and manages to kidnap ranboo and takes him back to be part of new shows. We are all insane about Saw so we made it even more Saw inspired and made it so hetch was basically putting gl!ran through saw traps constantly, giving him the hope of escaping but it was impossible. This goes on for three months (hence the name of the au being Three Months) until charlie and Sneeg rescue him. They are on what I like to describe as a nightmarish road trip for a couple days but after that the au focuses on their journey to healing, mentally and physically. There's a fucking lot more but it would need over 64 screenshots (I'm not joking I've sent close friends that amount of screenshots to explain the entire lore)
