Wrapping up day 1 #generictouristjane arc: #memoriesofbali Stop 3/3 of Kangsarem, Eastern Bali DIY tour: Agro Coffee Plantation (Somehow I can't geotag) . . First of two coffee plantations we visited Had a taste of strange coffee blends from ginseng coffee to coconut coffee Some teas too, all pretty good, I just didn't like that they served the 3in1 version for the taste test, I really wanted to taste the actual blend without all that heaps of sugar masking it Thankfully the other Plantation had that The place is cute really, I bought tea for my mom, looking back it was hella overpriced, and somehow three days passed and I didn't realize I lost the box 💔😭 money down the drain . . . About the luwak kopi, it smells awesome really. And I hear it supposed to be like hailed the best type there is, but idk, there's a lot of sour notes in it and I'm not really digging it. I guess I'm cheap that way 🤷 . . . Also, I'm really worried about the luwak civet musang's diet since it probably isn't healthy feeding on just coffee beans. Thankfully, they do feed them other stuff like papaya, it's just that the coffee bean is their favorite. I hope that's true or else shame on you luwak kopi farmers. I'm especially worried about this boye in captivity here, since he's the only one isolated from his folks, for us human's viewing, the attendant said the other ones are free to roam around hanging or jumping from tree to tree. Feeding frenzy lol Here are probably the fattest fish I've seen of their likeness. It's kind of entertaining seeing the whale each other fighting over the little nibbles we threw in. The bigger ones are all like "BLOP BLOP M0THERFÜCK3RS" making you wanna go, whoa there little Satans, there's food for everyone And the iridescent tilapias or maybe they're actually flowerhorns get bullied by them, for but you can't really hate on the big koi cause they're so fat, too cute . There actually was an opportunity to take a dip in one of the fountain pools, something like your Roman bathhouse depicted in paintings. Shame we didn't since it was really hot and we were sweaty from being under direct sunlight ahaha. A lush palace with pools and fountains and really fat fish (me thinking, it it really okay that people are feeding the carps and the koi and what looked like iridescent tilapia so much just to get them in the background of yet another #forthegram photo?). . It takes it name from Hinduism's sacred Ganges River. I remember having a dream of what the afterlife looked like and it was a fountain pool place with colorful floaty paper cranes: this looks like a cool reference to use if I were to put it into art. You recognize opulence when you see it, and think what must this look like in its prime? . There was another would I do this again for pictures calculation in the back of my mind when we entered this place, but oh well it was a nice tourist spot: good manmade and human view 😉 Hope I was good too 🤣♥️ . Day 1 Part 3 #generictouristjane arc: #memoriesofbali . Still at our first stop: Pura Lempuyang, This random tourist trap Vantage point. . It's my first trip out of the country with these girls and it's probably the longest time we've been out together. . It's been a roller coaster ride, especially since we are all wildly at the opposite poles of the character spectrum. . A great deal of August was spent finalizing this trip. In the mere four whole days and some sleepless nights, it turns out, trips like these really do teach you more about people. ... And their bowel movement patterns... Ahahahahaha . God, sitting toilets are in such a scarcity Well what did we expect hahahaha At some point it was battle between staying hydrated and resisting going to the little ladies room that had shoe marks on the toilet seat ahaha On top of that if you're "namamahay", this trip is on hard mode hahahaha The food is extra affordable and delicious. I think the gate also has its own set of stairs on the side facing Agung too. I didn't really come up to check to see what's up there since it's off limits Betong that facade, probably the temple worship proper. People tend to forget that this is actually a place of worship, and it pissed me off when other tourists kind of sneered at the priests (?) when they accidentally photobombed their pictures. Don't forget folks, we are only visiting and sightseeing. Day 1 of #generictouristjane arc: #memoriesofbali First stop: Pura Lempuyang, The Gates of Heaven ... its popular coined search term It's actually revered as one of the six holiest temples of Bali (according to wiki 😂🤦‍♀️) It's perched up this hill, that took us like a solid hour to get to since our driver Komang clearly did not do research even though we sent our daily itineraries maybe a week prior to our arrival, is this intricately decorated jewel of architecture with recurring motif of pairing and symmetry. It's completely different from Thai and Cambodian motifs which I was sort of dreading to see, thinking "oh this, again" from 2017's trip One place i really wish I had just roamed around in instead of coming to take a picture #forthegram This is probably the prevalent trend of what our tour experience is like for the succeeding days of our trip. But yeah don't get me wrong, this is still an excellent picture, just not at all what I expected when I was watching eat pray love the afternoon before ahahahah Would I come back for the picture? Probably not.
