i had this comic idea for a while but never had an excuse to do it. rewrite au missing scenes…. For context this is the first time anyone sees anyone out of helmet (other than temple and biff duh)

simmons is a more pink/red maroon and gene is a more orange maroon

donut is a warm pink and cronut is a cold pink

grif is light orange and biff is dark orange

sarge is light red and surge is burnt red

obviously tucker is green aqua and bucky is pale mint

caboose is slightly dark blue and loco is slightly bright blue

do you understand what im saying?

Temple is aroflux and gay. He is also a trans man(he/him) and would kill if clocked.

Biff is omnisexual with a heavy fem lean.

Buckey is pansexual.

Loco doesn’t label himself. He just falls for whoever he falls for

Surge is aroace.

Cronut is asexual and gay.

Gene is nonbinary and uses they/he/it and is gay.

Lorenzo is agender and uses any pronoun.

Felix is a trans man who uses he/they. He’s on the aroace spectrum and he’s biromantic.

Siris is on the aroace spectrum.

Locus is genderfuild and their pronouns changes fairly often. They mainly use they, he, or she. She also is only attracted to men and asexual.

Who am I going to redeem if I ever redeem someone? The most likely to be redeemed are Loco and Surge!

Hm…. If Biff was alive, he’d probably be not a bad guy. Temple can die :3 he’s a butt.

Lorenzo can be redeemed because he has a name similar to my brother’s. I don’t know about anyone else.

Doc and Donut have their redemption arcs later of course :3

Felix doesn’t get a redemption arc, but if he has to stick around he gets the pxss taken out of him. (Is that a saying???)

And because I can’t stop myself:

Felix, Temple, Gene find Simmons mildly attractive. But in an angry way. Like why is this ugly nerd kind of not as ugly as I think he is??? He’s obviously not hot in any way, but I like some of the faces he makes.

Not a full crush, just an attraction.

I have a very specific interaction between Simmons and Felix that kind of turned Felix on, but he was so angry at the time he didn’t want to acknowledge it. Meanwhile Simmons desperately hopes Felix doesn’t stab him for his surprisingly good bluff.

i do think the blues and reds needed like a true believer type whose goals aren’t clouded. i think that could’ve been surge.

like, temple genuinely believes in the cause but in the end of the day is more concerned with his own bullshit. then you could have buckey and probably cronut not give a shit about justice for the sim troopers and just tagging along bc it lets them be evil. buckey more obviously so and cronut putting on a mask of kindness.

then you get loco and like. lorenzo who are literally just there because everyone else is there. no skin in this game no horse in this race. gene probably is on the revenge train

and then surge could be like. truly genuinely believing in this course of action. hes fighting against tyranny and oppression he genuinely wants wants the liberation of the sim troopers. no ulterior motives besides maybe like. being a hero but even then you can have him acknowledge that he knows he’s NOT gonna get venerated as a hero by the unsc.

i just think it’d be a good way to be able to actually talk about the issue without having character motivations get in the way and like. come on it’s not like canon was doing anything else with him.

Felix rolled his eyes, and Cronut folded his arms with a huff.

They waited for a few moments before O’Malley turned from the boiling cauldron and sighed. He put his hands on his hips, robe sleeves rolled up to the elbows with his face still fully shaded by the deep hood. Spots of purple light peered out at Felix.

“Oh, it’s the stabby lad again. Well, what sort of brick-a-brack have you brought to my evil abode?”

"Well, now what? Can we drive this tin can back to base?" Sarge asks. Simmons investigates the controls.

"It looks like he tried to take a lot of stuff offline and delete things before we got here," he says, trying to reactivate things. "It'll take a little while to see if I can pull anything back online. We might have to wait for rescue."

"Ugh, finally," Grif sighs, "I'm taking a nap."

“Wash?” Carolina and Epsilon are looking at him. “What are we doing? The reactor isn’t going to wait for us to catch up.”

Sharkface is sitting back on his heels, watching Wash with a mix of yearning, betrayal, pain and indecision on his face. Wash reaches out a hand. “Come with us?”

“You should just leave me here to die, David. It’ll probably hurt less than whatever bullshit apologies you have for me,” Sharkface mutters, glaring at the pavement.

“Sure, I'll get right on that,” Wash mutters, and punches him in the head. He hoists Sharkface’s figure over his shoulders. “Get the helmet,” he says to the others. “Probably comm frequencies and coords we can use.”

i forgot I never posted this here so.

how I see desert gulch is as people they COULD have realistically ended up as. like in a kind of “bad ending” where nothing caused them to grow and they just kind of simmer in their hatred. they already kind of mention how like, if Church didn’t die Tucker would grow more powerful and eventually die due to his own hubris. more of that pls. more small differences butterfly effecting. THATS LITERALLY THE THEME OF S15.

i Lied. this is not a comprehensive post this is me slightly rewriting my rambles

adding the theme of the past coming back (instead of consequences) I’d LOVE Love Love to see some of the older speeches come back but be spun on their heads. Sarge’s rally speech being changed to one of hate by surge pointing out the negatives in the reds and blues instead? kimball’s speech being said by temple “fight because you deserve to win”?? PLEASE. HEAR ME.

temple: Please give him a water theme. I’ve mentioned this before but having desert gulch be a cold desert like sidewinder initially and then slowly melting into an ocean signifying the bitter, burning hatred for everything around him, also leaning into Carolina’s rivals being fire themed? PLEASE. it would also foil church with him growing farther from all the rest of the members adding onto his “nice on outside bad on inside” reverse of him. ALSO. MAKE TUCKER REALIZE ITS A BACKSTAB WAAAY BETTER. he’s been through this shit before. he knows what’s up.

buckey: there is so much for me to say but I don’t have the right words to say it. Tucker is such a strongly built character that with any of the wrong moves could have crumbled into the worst person possible. Most prominently, he’s very honest and while he does have an ego, puts his friends first. Buckey is already a SLIMEY bitch but he needs to be a liar, egotistical, and a show off at any opportunity. But not a good fighter. Noo.

surge: thanks for putting it into words youtube comment section. Make him like early seasons where he didn’t really give a shit about his soldiers at all. I really need that parallel theme to shine through with him berating his soldiers while Sarge uplifts them and clearly cares.

Gene: make him clearly disloyal from the start. he’s already pretty good but I’d love to see him backstab surge to climb the ranks. Simmons is bitchy and always critical, but I need gene to be a HATER. literally just straight up ready to claw at anyone to get his way. he is his ONLY priority.

cronut: instead of having an echo chamber of sex jokes how about you actually make him the most “alpha male” kind of person ever with the densest “i would never make a joke like that” shit ever make his masculinity so frail it would not only be funny but would be great contrast and make sense with how donut could have ended up. Sorry Cronut fans

the main difference here is that each of these characters would end up here due to their strained relationship, and clearly only tolerate each other due to necessity. the reds and blues don’t even have to do that much. they just have to sow the seeds of doubt that already exist, and wait for them to all crumble apart in a butterfly effect of hate that had always been there. And watch on, as every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
