Y’all can read and decide for yourselves, but I actually think the endgame is way more obvious than that:

The age of consent and what it means should be scrutinized occasionally for all kinds of reasons.  There are a lot of problems with those laws and how they are utilized against specific kinds of people and in specific situations and not used in others, and most importantly those laws have done literally nothing to end sexual exploitation of children.  There’s no reason to be scared of discussing the age of consent, especially in a genuinely radical feminist context.

However it feels like this document is more about pushing the overall gender based ideology, which exists mainly to medicalize dysphoric people, push children into permanent medicalization, and destroy the rights of female people. 

I’m not thrilled with the way feminist-ish types leap to lump grown ass women in with children, and I’m not thrilled with the slinging around of pedophilia to infantalize grown ass women, which is definitely an element I’m seeing in the twitter criticisms.  The Helplessness in the Face of Big Bad Men narrative is really getting tired, gyns.  It smacks of the so-called Feminist Man gloating about female inferiority while giggling to himself at all the women who think he’s on their side, and it smacks of using victimization, real or imagined, to not take proactive steps and responsibility and action, all at the same time.  I’ll have to write a hot take on this someday.

Anyway my main observation here is take a look at the organizations involved heavily with this thing and you’ll see gendergendergender everywhere.  It’s all gender.  The age of consent will be used to put the brakes on in some countries, like the United States, when it comes to affirmation-based gendershite, and this is a good way of getting ahead of it.  It’s also not beyond possible that the sex industry lobby is involved because of the preponderence of trans-identified youth who end up sucked into the sex trade and this is another angle, but honestly it’s probably more the medical industrial complex et al, and less about a Law and Order: SVU/ QAnon fantasy in which hoardes of pedophiles roam the earth but we’re still supposed to believe the cops and/or Donald Trump are #NotAllMen.
