Testing RunwayML's Animation Feature
Tried out runwayml gen-2 txt to image generation trick to animate a 2D image. Well, that was disappointing. Do you want your generated images to come alive? Just head over to runway drop your still into the gen2 generator and don’t add a text prompt and then watch the magic happen 24 frames of animation just like that! 🤯 @ me when you share your generations! pic.twitter.com/lQq02VfjfK— Uncanny…

TITLE: Saturday SUMMARY: Sol asks Fin to occupy Vivid’s Sora for a weekend while he’s out of town. Fin accidentally makes a friend. GENRE: budding friendship? / maybe some mild angst? PAIRING: Platonic!SoKi (Sora x Fin) WORD COUNT: 1.5k WARNINGS: swearing, mentions of poor mental state. if anything else comes up, let me know!
A/N: sora belongs to the lovely kara aka @cube-vivid ! she edited most of sora’s parts so thank you so much kara!! without you this piece would flop. and look out for part two of this scenario coming soon!
Tumblr media
SPRING 2019
Hyunki wanted to kick himself for how awkward he was being, but honestly he couldn’t blame himself. Lee Sora was intimidating, he couldn’t seem to unhinge his jaw to even try to speak to her. He’s not sure what made her so terrifying. Maybe it was the way that she glanced at everything in the art museum with a not-so-subtle look of disinterest, clearly drawing lines in the sand of how different her and Hyunki were from one another. The silence between them didn’t help much either. Sora had barely spoken a word to Hyunki since they left Vivid’s dorm that afternoon. Hyunki might be a little naive, but he could tell when someone wasn’t interested in him or his company, and Sora was making it a little too obvious.
Hanging out with Sora wasn’t something Fin had been expecting that day. Soonyoung woke up to a phone call from his sister and had to make an emergency trip back home to deal with some family business. Before he left for the weekend, Soonyoung pulled Hyunki aside.
“Hey, man,” Soonyoung glanced towards the living room, checking to make sure that no one was eavesdropping. “I got a favor to ask you.”
Hyunki straightened his shoulders out, flattered that his leader would entrust him with something personal. “Yeah, of course.”
“I need you to occupy Sora today.” Soonyoung dropped the bomb. Hyunki’s smile froze.
“Sora?” Hyunki clarified. “As in, like… Your good friend Vivid’s Sora?”
“Yes.” Sol arched an eyebrow. “She’s been a little… Down… lately. I was supposed to spend time with her this weekend, but I can’t anymore. Do you mind just… Keeping her busy until I get back on Sunday night?”
Hyunki licked his lower lip. This seemed like a task that required someone with a lot of responsibility. Hyunki didn’t know the whole story behind Sora, but he’s heard her come over in the early AMs and cry in Soonyoung’s room through the walls enough times to understand that the girl group member’s struggles weren't surface level.
“Why me?” The younger asked.
Soonyoung clapped a hand on Fin’s shoulder, giving him a brotherly squeeze. “Because you’re good at being distracting. Trust me, you guys will get along well.”
Fin wanted to huff at the irony of it all. Yeah, they were getting along great. The silence really was a sign of their budding friendship. They’d be braiding each other’s hair in no time.
Sora was walking a few paces in front of him, passing paintings without a second glance. The clouded look in her eyes told Hyunki that his distraction tactics weren’t doing as good of a job as Soonyoung believed they would. Hyunki swallowed, wetting his throat like he does every so often when he’s mentally hyping himself up to speak to her.
He opened his mouth, the sticky and dry sensation of his tongue blocking any vocal movement. Thankfully, he didn’t have to speak. Sora planted herself in front of an abstract piece, cocking her head to the side. Hyunki observed it as well, standing a few paces behind her, unsure of how close was ‘too close’ with her. In the reflection of the display’s glass, Hyunki could make out Sora’s features. They were creased in contemplation as her eyes soaked up the glass sculpture in front of them.
“This is really pretty.” Sora commented, her voice pierced the silence and jolting through Fin like an electric shock. Hyunki was expecting Sora’s voice to be broken and weak, based off the absent look that had been fixed on her face the whole afternoon. Instead, her voice was strong and confident, as if she spoke objectively on the artwork. Hyunki found himself believing her words. Yes, maybe the piece was really pretty after all.
“That’s interesting.” Hyunki responded. “I don’t think I would have stopped to look at it if you hadn’t pointed it out.”
Sora glanced up at Hyunki, a puzzled expression on her face. “You’ve looked at everything in here so far, though?”
Hyunki didn’t have the courage to look at Sora just yet, so he fixed his eyes on her reflection in the glass. He let out a small chuckle.
“I’m more drawn to realism paintings. Abstract isn’t really my thing.” Hyunki shrugged. “But it’s interesting that you like this piece compared to everything else we’ve seen.”
“Why’s that?” Sora questioned, her tone sharp. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other as her eyebrows furrowed. Hyunki swallowed again, realizing too late that his words sounded slightly snobbish and aloof. “I mean, a person's personality can be reflected in what artwork they are drawn to.” Hyunki explained. “I think there’s like… Psychological proof backing that or something.”
Sora gave him a short chuckle, a noise that was even more startling to Hyunki than her speaking voice.
“So what does my connection to this painting say about me?” Sora implored, crossing her arms in amusement. Hyunki looked down at Sora, his mouth growing dry again.
“Um… I mean… It tells me that you’re creative.” Hyunki said hurriedly. “It tells me that you’re someone who likes seeing things for what they could be rather than what they are.”
Sora bit her lower lip and nodded slowly, looking back at the piece in curiosity. She flicked her gaze back up to Hyunki with a sly smile on her face.
“You’re bad at reading people, then. I’m not that creative and I don’t think I’m much of an optimist either.” Sora shook her head, backing away from the painting and moving on to the next. “But that was nice of you to say.” Sora shot him a smirk that made his heart stutter before she focused back on the artworks littering the walls.
Hyunki furrowed his eyebrows and walked in line with Sora, keeping the same pace as her. “What do you mean? Don’t you help create songs for Vivid? That’s creative.”
Sora cracked the vertebrae in her neck, mulling over Fin’s comment. “I mean, yeah, but I don't think creative is something people would describe me as. I just make music cause it lets me get what’s in my brain out, that's it.”
“Hm, but you’re still creative.” Hyunki insisted, making her laugh through her nose softly.
“If you say so,” she mumbled, stuffing her hands in her cargo pants. Fin hummed in response, unsure of how to follow up that statement. They passed a few more abstract pieces, but Sora seemed to have maxed out her art analysis for the rest of her life, not stopping to admire anymore. As the two headed towards the museum’s exit, an idea cast over Hyunki.
“Have you ever painted before?” He asked. Beside him, Sora’s step faltered a little. She gave him an apprehensive look before responding.
“Nah. I don’t think that’s my thing.” Sora shrugged.
“Well, how do you know if you never tried?” Hyunki asked, unable to stop himself.
Sora furrowed her eyebrows, contemplating the question. “I doubt I’d be any good at it. I’m not creative, remember.” She admitted, a joking tilt in her voice.
Fin gave an airy laugh. “Art’s subjective. You literally can’t be bad at it.” He assured her. “If you want, I have some paints at my dorm. You could try your hand at it.”
“I’ll pass on that. Don’t want you wasting your art supplies on me.” Sora said flatly, not even looking back at Fin as she pushed the museum doors open. She let out a chuckle after probably hoping to sound a lot more comfortable than she was. It sounded uncomfortable and short as if dismissing the idea immediately and not even wanting to entertain it.  The warm spring sun shining in them as Sora pulled her sunglasses over her eyes again. Their ride was waiting for them out front, one of Fin’s managers.
Before they got into the car, Fin had to secure a distraction for Sora or face disappointment from Sol.
“Look, it’s not a waste, I promise. Plus… It could be really… Therapeutic.” Fin suggested. Sora lifted her eyebrows at that, her face not even looking slightly pleased.
“Cause I need therapy?” she looked at him expectantly as she awaited his reply. Her mind raced with all the ways Fin could have somehow found out about whatever was currently going on in her life. She took an uncomfortable step away from the tall boy, as if the distance would prevent Fin from getting any closer to her mentally.
Sora’s expression became steelily guarded. She opened her mouth to chew him out, but Hyunki’s hands flew up in surrender before hastily defending himself.
“I’m oblivious about what you’re going through, I swear. It’s really none of my business anyways. I’m just saying that if you’re looking for an outlet, I have some extra canvases.” Fin spoke up, tripping over his words slightly.
Sora licked her bottom lip as if she was weighing the pros and cons of this offer. Finally she nodded in agreement. “Okay... I’ll try it.”

TROIS DEBUT MINI ALBUM - THE SELF [2018]
Tumblr media
The highly-anticipated second generation of Triptych kicked off with the debut of TROIS and their debut mini album, The Self. Released on February 12th, 2018, The Self is a perfect example of fourth generation kpop. Taking inspiration from EDM and western pop music, the album soared to the top of the charts upon release, making it the best selling Triptych debut as of 2018.
Tumblr media
TRACK LIST.
1] EGOIST
The title track is an EDM influenced song that focuses on self love. TROIS wanted a confident and meaningful debut song that encourages others to love themselves.
The choreography for this song was completely designed by Hyo and Ame.
The song was written by all three girls.
2] ME, MYSELF, AND I
3] STRENGTH
4] DUST OFF
5] POWER MOVES
6] IN AWE

THIS ERA.
Yay! Gen2 is here! And they certainly were gaining attention.
Their debut album hit number 1 on Melon and Bugs as well as peaking at number 3 on Billboard’s World Wide chart. Easily the best a Triptych debut has ever done.
Hyo was praised by kpop fans for her rapping ability and became a very popular member of Triptych right off the bat.
Ame was also noticed for her singing voice and ‘pure’ visuals, which stood out against Triptych’s usual ‘cool’ visuals.
Jin also gained a lot of attention for her vocals, but people were quick to criticize her dancing ability, as it clearly lacked compared to Hyo and Ame.
When TROIS started showing up on episodes of Triptych TV, it was like watching two parallel universes meet.
Since Gen 1 was on break, S.O.T members would occasionally stop by music shows to support their new teammates, which was always heartwarming to experience.
Hyo finally was added to the ‘97 liner group chat after pestering her old friend GOT7′s BamBam for months.
Even though lots of good things happened this era... what comes up must come down.
There was a saesang who would follow Jin around and would send creepy letters and stuff to her. At one point, he got a hold of her landline number and cellphone number and used that to track her.
Jin was pulled from the last week of promotions due to the company worrying about her safety while they tracked down who the saesang was and dealt with damage control.
Eventually, they were able to catch him, but by the time they did that, The Self promotions had ended.

FANDOM BEHAVIORS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay well... let’s start off on the positives!
Artychs were absolutely pumped for TROIS’ debut. The HBH Trainees project group, ECHO, was pretty popular and TROIS consisted of three of the most popular trainees from that group.
A ton, and I mean A LOT of new fans joined this era. The fanbase seemed to have nearly doubled in size.
However... There was a bit of a scandal involving Jin towards the end of their debut promotions.
Jin’s sasaeng leaked her old private kakao messages, a few of which contained private messages with ex-lovers. A lot of antis were quick to criticize her but an overwhelming amount of support flooded to TROIS to comfort Jin.

WINTER 2018
Soojin’s thumbs twiddled over her game controller, her eyes glued on the television screen in front of her. If she could just find that stupid item, then she could progress to the next part in the story and-
Ring Ring.
Soojin inhaled deeply, preparing herself to call for one of the other girls to answer the phone. Her breathing turned into a groan, realizing that no one was in the dorm with her. She almost forgot that the girls were all out tonight, taking some time off between promotions. Jin glanced towards the direction of the dorm telephone, still ringing madly. Jin was so comfortable on her couch… Surely whoever was calling wasn’t going to say anything important. It was probably some sort of telemarketer. If it was one of the girls, they would have called her cell. Just in case, Soojin checked her voicemail for any missed calls. Nothing. The ringing stopped and went to voicemail, shrouding the apartment with the peaceful ambient sounds coming from Soojin’s game. Soojin smiled to herself. It was so nice to have the dorm to herself. Even though the other Generation 2 girls were lovely, it was nice to have a night free from the chaos. She didn’t have to fight anyone for the TV, or tell anyone that their music was too loud, or--
Ring Ring.
The phone started going off again. Soojin groaned, the moment of peace lost. She paused her game and rose from the couch. Before she hadn’t cared, but now she was agitated. The caller was interrupting her evening. A hand ran through her hair in aggravation as she approached the landline, prepared to be as blunt as possible with whoever was on the other line. She picked up the receiver, annoyance radiating off her.
“Hello?” Soojin snipped, crossing her arms.
“Hello.” A smooth voice responded. “What took you so long?”
The hairs on Soojin’s arms stood up and her heartbeat quickened. “Sojinnie, are you avoiding me?” The voice asked in a mocking coo. “You haven’t responded to any of my letters, and now you’re avoiding my calls?”
Instantly, Soojin realized who it was. The letters. This was the author of the letters. The realization only spiked Soojin’s adrenaline, her mouth growing dry with panic.
The last week of Trois’ debut promotions, Soojin started getting cryptic and creepy letters delivered to her. They followed her everywhere. The first one appeared on her dressing room vanity after Trois’ goodbye stage with a single red rose. The message was written using a typewriter. The letter wasn’t threatening, it was just a letter from a fan telling her that they will miss her between performances and that they couldn’t wait to see her again. Jin received sentiments like that all the time. It wasn’t anything peculiar.
The second letter was a request to meet up for a romantic dinner date on the Han River at night. The letter detailed what they wanted Soojin to wear to the date in detail, and requested that she didn’t tell anyone where she was going. Jin was unsettled by the letter, but her managers assured her that it was nothing. It was just a fan that took Jin’s fanservice a little too seriously. For a while, Jin believed that too. She was just being dramatic.
Then the letters started arriving at personal locations. She found letters taped to the practice room mirrors, in the women’s bathroom at the company, tucked in the creases of her locker. The apartment building even called her one morning to tell her that her mailbox was getting full. When she checked her mail, she had at least ten letters from this anonymous sasaeng. That’s when Jin realized the power of the word ‘obsessed’, and just how dangerous this obsession was.
Jin tried to think quickly. The first thing she thought of was to contact her manager, tell her that it happened again. But what could her manager do? Yell at the person on the other end of the call? Tell them to cut it out? The sasaeng would probably just call again once the manager left.
“Soojinie, why so quiet?” The voice asked. Soojin tried to focus on the voice. It definitely belonged to a man. Based on the pitch, the man was probably not a teenager. It was probably someone still young enough to know who she was, maybe a man in his twenties or early thirties.
“How did you get this number?” Soojin asked, her voice uneven with fear despite her efforts to appear bold.
“It’s easy to find things these days. Don’t worry. I did this so we can talk instead of waiting for each other to write.” The voice said innocently, as if the person didn’t see anything wrong or unsettling about calling a personal number. “I didn’t scare you too bad, right?”
“I don’t want you calling this number. This isn’t right.” Jin shook her head. She realized how weak her words were. Whatever bravado she had put on before picking up the phone had melted completely, now turning to ice in her veins.
“Then we can meet up in person. It wouldn’t be too hard to arrange.” The voice drawled, clearly amused in the panic and chaos that he was inflicting. “I’m closer than you think.”
Soojin’s heart leapt into her throat. The hair on the back of her neck stood up, and she suddenly felt as if someone was watching her. An even more horrifying thought seized her mind. What if the call happened inside her apartment. The new theory sent another wave of panic and fear through her body, the ability to think clearly fleeing her brain. She instantly ran to her door, only having enough time to slip on some sandals before bolting down the hallway of her apartment building, knocking on the door of the person she knew could make her feel better.
A sleepy looking Soonyoung answered the door, rubbing sleep out of his eyes when he realized who it was.
“Hey, Soojin. Everything good?” Soonyoung closed his eyes as a yawn emerged from his mouth. Jin felt like a child would run to their parents after a nightmare, guilt blanketing over the fear that was still causing her hands to shake.
“Um, actually, no.” Soojin said, trying not to sound too hysterical. “Can I come in?”
The words woke Soonyoung up, his eyes suddenly alert. He stepped aside quickly, ushering his fellow member into his dorm. The minute the door closed behind her, Soojin’s tears started to fall.
“Woah, hey,” Soonyoung furrowed his eyebrows, placing a hand on Soojin’s shoulder. “What’s happened, huh? Are you hurt?”
“No.” Soojin shook her head, keeping her focus down. She was scared and angry, unable to stop the nagging voice in her head that told her that this could have been avoided if she just spoke up.
“Okay, okay.” Soonyoung said soothingly, pressing his hand on the crown of Soojin’s head in a brotherly gesture. “How about we sit down?”
Soonyoung made Soojin a cup of tea, waiting patiently for Soojin to calm down enough to speak. The lavender tea in Soojin’s cup was nearly drained before she finally found the air to speak.
Soojin explained everything. From the first letters to the phone call she just experienced to the sudden fear that the sasaeng might be in her apartment.
“Did you hear him in there?” Soonyoung asked in a low tone, a flicker of anger crossed his face.
“No. But… I figured it might be a possibility.” Soojin explained, suddenly feeling dramatic for thinking that might be a reality. She would have heard a door open, or a window creak. “I feel bad for waking you up, I’m sorry.”
Soonyoung shook his head and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. “It very well could be a possibility. You reacted how you felt you should. I’m glad you came here and I’m glad you’re safe.”
Jin just nodded appreciatively, thankful for his comforting words. “We should call the police.” Soonyoung suggested in the same tone a nurse suggests for a child to close their eyes before a shot. Soojin nodded, pulling out her cellphone. Just as she was about to dial the local police, a notification from kakao popped up on her screen.
If you don’t want me, I’ll make sure no one wants you. Not any other guy or any of your ‘fans’. I only liked you because you’re hot. You can’t sing, you can’t dance. There will be nothing for you after I’ve had my turn to humiliate you. You fucked up, Min Soojin. You fucked up so bad. Fuck you, whore.
Soojin and Soonyoung blinked at the message, both of them unable to make a comment.
“Call the police.” Soonyoung’s voice got steely. “Now.”
Tumblr media
Ame held the door open for Jin as they exited the coffee shop with a wide smile on her face. Jin couldn’t help but smile back despite her nerves. The younger girl had been apologizing for not being home during the situation last weekend for the past two days and was putting extra effort into making Jin feel safe and supported.
After the police questioned Jin, they said that they’d keep the report on file, but there wasn’t much evidence that they could collect. They still advised Jin to be careful of her surroundings and not go anywhere alone. Ame stepped up to the job, becoming Jin’s personal shadow. Today, Ame would be walking Jin to HBH headquarters for an important meeting with Hak Bonghwa and HBH’s lawyer team to discuss the next steps to take. Jin was concerned about the meeting. It’s been two full days since the phone call and text, and she hasn’t heard anything back from her stalker. What if they thought Soojin was just getting pranked? What if they couldn’t help her?
“Soojinnie.” Ame gave a pout, reaching over to squeeze one of Soojin’s cheeks with her thumb. “Don’t frown so much. You’re gonna get premature wrinkles.”
Soojin tried to relax her face, but she couldn’t help but feel more and more anxious. Something about today seemed off, as if the world was holding its breath.
“Sorry… I’m just… I feel like it’s the calm before the storm, you know?” Jin frowned.
Ame pursed her lips sympathetically. “Hey, at least you’ve got HBH looking into it. I’m sure no matter what happens today, you’re going to at least have support.”
Jin gave a small smile at the sentiment. The two girls made their way to the location they told their driver to meet them at. On the way, Jin pulled out her phone, scrolling through social media for a brief distraction.
The headline that greeted her upon opening up Naver chilled her blood.
“HACKER LEAKS TRIPTYCH’S JIN’S KAKAO TALK MESSAGES.”
She felt her heart seize. She dropped the freshly-made coffee cup in her hand, it’s contents pooling on the sidewalk at her feet.
“What is it, Jinnie?” Ame asked in shock, slowing down her pace beside her leader, taking a sip of the pink beverage she just purchased.
“I…” Soojin was at a loss of words, unable to speak properly from the shock. Ame looked at the phone screen and let out a gasp. “Oh my God, Jin…” Ame looked between the cellphone and the other girl, an equal look of panic crossing over her expression. “Do you know if it’s legit?” Soojin didn’t answer. She tapped on the article link, scrolling through the details.
‘This morning, Triptych’s Jin’s old messages were revealed…’
‘Containing several messages from what appears to be ex-lovers…’
‘Including some explicit photos…’
Soojin thought she was going to pass out. She expanded the attached photos of the screen shots, but she didn’t need to look deeply to see that they were the real thing. She vaguely remembers the boys she used to be in contact with during her trainee years, the conversations suddenly resurfacing in her memory.
Before Soojin could truly react, a black SUV pulled up to the curb next to the idols. The passenger’s side window rolled down, revealing their manager, Hyunjung.
“Get in the car.” Hyunjung demanded. “We have an emergency meeting at the company.”
Tumblr media
The idol opened the doors to the scheduled meeting room. Sat at the long oak table was Hak Bonghwa, a publicist, and few men in suits that Soojin had never met before. As if the ensemble couldn’t be any more intimidating, Yerin was also seated, a severe look on her face.
Soojin bowed politely as she entered, taking a seat next to her leader for what she assumed would be the last time. While in the car on their way to the company, she could only come to one conclusion: she was going to be kicked out of Triptych. No way would HBH want to keep around an idol who had broken the trainee dating-ban as well as cause this much drama only a month into her debut. The only logical result would be expulsion from the group and company.
“Well, now that we are all present, I think it’s time to discuss what has occurred this morning and weekend.” Hak Bonghwa stated, folding his hands on top of the manila folder infront of him.
“As we are aware, Soojin’s incident has gotten more serious than we anticipated. This morning, personal information was leaked to the public.” Hak Bonghwa summarized. “We also have received,” The man opened the folder, placing a typed out note. Soojin’s blood chilled and goosebumps rose on her arm at the familiar sight.
“A threatening letter from the stalker addressed to both HBH and Jin. Considering the… passion… behind this letter, we have no choice but to take these threats seriously.”
“I think it’s important that we discuss the next steps in our plan to keep Soojin protected at all costs. We know that this stalker has more private information than we realized. I think our first step is to change Soojin’s phone number and erase any old messaging apps to prevent further exploitation.”
The other people at the table nodded in agreement.
“Following that, I suggest we put Soojin on a hiatus from public activities until the stalker is caught.” Hak Bonghwa recommended.
“What about security at the dorms?” Yerin wondered. The protectiveness in her voice surprised Jin. The vocalist always assumed the leader had a mild dislike for her and the prospect of Nia and Jin finally getting past their tension gave Soojin a rush of hope.
“This stalker knows where Soojin and the rest of us live. Keeping her safe at home should be an even bigger priority than pulling her from promotions.” Yerin argued. “Plus, pulling her from promotions now would mean putting all of Trois on hiatus. They can’t perform without their leader.”
“We can arrange extra security.” Hak Bonghwa nodded. “But I still believe that a hiatus is appropriate, regardless of the circumstances.”
Yerin didn’t look pleased with this answer, but she didn’t object. Soojin felt a wave of appreciation for Yerin so strong that it momentarily made her forget about the issues at hand.
The rest of the meeting carried on. Only once did Hak Bonghwa address Soojin, and that was to go over the contents of the kakao messages. Hak Bonghwa suggested that for safety reasons, they claim that the messages were photoshopped.
“I don’t care if they are real or fake, and honestly I do not wish to know.” Hak Bonghwa had stated with a sense of finality. “As far as we are concerned, they are manipulated.”
The rest of the meeting seemed easier to get through. They discussed legal actions, pressing charges, hiatus rules, the works. Then the meeting was adjourned, and everyone rose to their seats.
Before Yerin could get away, Soojin held onto her elbow, tethering the other girl to her.
“Yerin,” Soojin said. “Thank you.”
The leader gave Soojin a skeptical glance. “You’re welcome?”
“You didn’t have to stand up for me, but you did, and I appreciate it.” Soojin clarified.
Yerin looked a little uncomfortable. “I mean… I only said what would make the most sense. Putting you on hiatus only makes you look even more guilty, but I guess I can’t argue with Hak Bonghwa.”
Soojin’s smile faded a little, suddenly embarrassed that she thought Yerin was finally coming around to her.
“Oh. Well. Thank you, regardless.” “Sure. Stay safe.” Yerin gave a thin-lipped smile before breaking away and exiting the meeting room.

Winter 2018
Soonyoung didn’t think it was possible for things to go south so quickly, but he always believed in the phrase ‘there’s a first time for everything’.
Right after they digested their dinner (graciously cooked by S.O.T), the bottles of alcohol were brought out (graciously supplied by Gen 1). Yen made them all take an oath that they weren’t going to throw up anywhere except for the toilet bowl, and then they all took a shot together as eighteen.
And that was the last moment things were okay.
Standing around the kitchen island, Soonyoung quickly turned into a bystander when Soojin and Yerin started going shot-for-shot with each other.
“You don’t strike me as a shots girl.” Soojin bantered, pouring herself a third shot. Yerin, who clearly wasn’t a shots girl based off the full-body shivers she got whenever she dipped the clear liquid down her throat, slid her empty shot glass across the island.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me.” Yerin stated back, watching as Soojin poured vodka into the small glass, filling it almost to the brim.
Soojin smirked and held the bottle up to the others surrounding the table. “You boys want any?”
Sol held up a hand and shook his head. Hyunki did the same. Smart boy. He too must have realized that this was more than just two girls taking shots. It was a fight for dominance.
The shot battle was over after about four more shots. By this point, the alcohol had started to hit Yerin’s system, her motor movements slowly starting to lose their accuracy. When Yerin started swaying on her feet, Soonyoung stepped in.
“Hey, Yerin? Maybe it’s time you go sit down and drink some water.” Soonyoung suggested, a gentle hand coming out to take the shot glass away from the woman. Yerin reacted with amazing speed, her hand snatching the glass away.
“No. If she can do more, then I can do more.” Yerin said competitively.
Soojin, who was probably only a little buzzed, shook her head sympathetically. “Hey, this isn’t a competition-”
“Of course it’s a competition! Everything is a competition!” Yerin enunciated each word individually, but the ends of her sentences drooped, as if each word was heavy on her tongue.
Hyunki gave Soonyoung an anxious glance. The poor kid was always slightly awkward when it came to dealing with drunk people. Especially drunk people he didn’t know well.
“Alright, let’s get you some water.” Soonyoung stepped up, placing a testing hand on Yerin’s shoulder.
“Hey, hands off!” Yerin snapped, wiggling away from his touch. “I have a boyfriend, you know.” A smug, triumphant smile crossed over her face once she realized what she said. The leader’s attention trained back on Jin, who was watching the other girl apprehensively. “Yeah, I have a boyfriend. Johnny’s my boyfriend. Remember that. Johnny. Is. My. Boyfriend.”
“I… Okay?” Soojin arched an eyebrow in confusion.
Yerin mimicked the facial expression, only hers was slightly off given her drunken state. “Yeah, so don’t even think about-” “Alright!” Soonyoung gripped Yerin’s arm and started pulling her towards the sink. From the island, Jin and Fin just watched in bewilderment.
“What did I just tell you!” Yerin hissed. “Drink water and sober up before you say something you’ll regret.” Soonyoung advised under his breath as he ran a cup under the tap, handing it to his new leader. He watched as she drained the water, patting the corners of her mouth dry when she was finished. Even though she didn’t seem to be any more sober, he could tell that Yerin was starting to calm down.
Yerin looked over at Fin and Jin, who were eyeing her carefully, as if she were a time bomb destined to explode. Yerin’s cheeks, which were already flushed from the vodka, started to become richer in color.
“Um… I’m just gonna go mingle a bit… I’ll see you guys.” She looked down as she exited the kitchen, hurrying over to a different group of members to chat with them.
“What’s her deal?” Jin questioned, her focus still trained on the other girl. “People are so complex.” Hyunki sighed, taking a shot for himself, instantly gagging at the burning sensation.
Soonyoung shook his head. “Yeah. Complex.”

The last two weeks had been some of the worst Yen had ever experienced. Changkyun and Micha had finally decided to cut things off over a facetime call.
“Are you breaking up with me?” Micha asked, her voice spiking up an octave after Changkyun stated that space would be good for them. “I… Yeah.” Changkyun sniffed in through his nose, looking away from his phone screen. Micha felt her chest burn, even though the rest of her was completely numb.
“So that’s it? You’re going to break up with me over a fucking facetime call? You couldn’t come say it to my face?” Yen demanded, her blood boiling.
“What? Say it to your face so we can have goodbye sex right after?” Changkyun frowned. “Face it, Micha. That’s all our relationship ever is. We don’t love each other.”
The statement shattered Micha’s heart into a million pieces, even though she knew there was truth in his words. Lately the two of them have lost their emotional touch. What they didn’t have they made up physically.
“Plus… I don’t want to be made a fool.” Changkyun’s tone suddenly turned stoney. “I’m not blind, Micha.”
The idol furrowed her eyebrows. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
“Asahiko?” Changkyun stated it like it was obvious. “What about him?” Micha said defensively.
“You guys act more like a couple than we ever do.” Changkyun stated in an exasperated tone. “And the way he looks at you…” The rapper sighed bitterly. “It’s only a matter of time before one of you does something and I don’t want to be the idiot that watched it unfold and did nothing about it.”
Micha blinked, her jaw open. She couldn’t believe her ears. “So you don’t trust me?” Micha asked. Changkyun looked up at the screen for the first time since he dropped the bomb.
“I just think our time has passed. I think you’ve started to move on and I think I should too.” Changkyun shrugged.
Micha drained the rest of the spiked drink in her cup, letting the slight burn of the alcohol wash away the recent memory. Fighting off the mental replay of Changkyun’s face telling her that they don’t love each other, she pushed her way into the kitchen to refill her cup.
There was a small queue at the kitchen counter where the bottles of booze were as people took turns with the bottles to concoct their own mixed drinks.
The guy in front of her - the name slipping her mind - was pouring himself an extra strong drink using Micha’s favorite brand of vodka.
“Yo, save some for the rest of us.” Micha snapped at the new member. The boy looked up, arching an eyebrow. He gave her a small smirk before gesturing to the cup in her hand with the bottle. Micha held out her cup.
“Tell me when,” The boy said, pouring vodka into the plastic solo cup with a soft splash. Micha let him pour a little more than usual. She figured she’d rather drink it up now before the bottle was gone.
“Jeez, rough week huh?” The guy chuckled, screwing the cap back onto the handle.
Micha huffed. “That’s an understatement.”
“I’m Myungdae, by the way.” The new member introduced himself again. “Micha, right?” “The one and only.” Micha grinned dryly, bringing her cup to her lips. She wrinkled her nose. Maybe adding more vodka wasn’t the move. Myungdae chuckled and held his hand out.
“Here, lemme fix that for you.” He offered. Micha obliged, handing the monstrosity in her cup over.
The boy took a sip of her drink. When he brought the cup away from his face, he gave Micha a playful smirk. “This is delicious.” He teased. “My kind of drink. 90% vodka.”
Micha rolled her eyes, but a smile broke on her face too. “Just fix it, please.”
Myungdae held up his index finger and took another small sip. He smacked his lips together with a concentrated expression on his face, as if trying to pinpoint what exactly was wrong. Then he got to work, grabbing juices and seltzers to add to Micha’s drink. Once he was done, he handed the drink to Micha.
“Try that.” He said smugly. Micha slowly brought the cup up to her lips. Her eyes widened. “This doesn’t even taste like vodka?” She wondered aloud, completely blown away.
Myungdae spread his arms in pride. “What can I say. I’m a man of many talents.”
The two left the kitchen, making room for all the other members on the hunt for a refill. The two found themselves leaning against the wall in front of Micha’s bedroom.
“You know,” Myungdae said, giving Micha’s body a scan with his eyes. “You’re so much prettier in person.”
Micha arched an eyebrow, trying to look unimpressed. “Trying to butter me up?”
“Only a little,” Myungdae suppressed a chuckle, looking over his shoulder. The only people around them were Eunha and Soonyoung, who were in deep conversation about something. Myungdae’s hand dug into his pocket, slowly pulling out a small plastic baggie with fine white powder in it.
Micha blinked. She’s been around drugs before, most nightclubs she went to had drug needles on the floor and people walked around with blood dripping from their noses. She just never thought she’d see coke in her own dorm, a place that was completely separate from nightlife culture.
“Want some?” Myungdae asked. “I think doing a line together would really cement our friendship.”
If it had been any other week Micha would say no, but after what she’s been through these past seven days, she thought she’d enjoy herself. She looked around before leading Myungdae to her bedroom, quickly shutting the door behind them.
“I’ve only rubbed it into my gums before.” Micha admitted, reflecting on the one other time she was offered the substance. Myungdae nodded. “Are you sketch about snorting things?” He asked, tapping the powder out onto Micha’s vanity. His actions seemed a little rush, like he had been waiting for this moment all night.
Micha shrugged, watching Myungdae work. “A little.” “Well, don’t feel pressured to do anything you’re not comfortable with.” Myungdae grinned, taking his credit card out to form a neat line. He looked up at her through his lashes. “You got a dollar?”
Micha gestured to the small change jar she kept next to her makeup brushes. Myungdae opened the jar, taking out a bill and rolling it into a tube. Then he placed one end of it in his nostril, closing the other with his finger, before inhaling sharply, sucking up the powder with ease.
He blinked a few times, swallowing thickly before looking a little more relaxed than he did a few moments prior.
“Here, let's get you-”
Before Myungdae could finish, Micha’s door opened. Micha jumped, turning to see who had just caught them.
Asahiko stood in the doorway, his eyes wide at the sight before him. Micha felt a wave of relief. At least it was her best friend who caught them and not her leader.
“Koko, have you met Myungdae?” Micha smiled, gesturing to the boy next to her.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Asa asked, his voice steely. Micha’s smile drooped.
“We’re just-” Micha started but her explanation was drowned out by Asahiko’s raised voice.
“Are you trying to fucking kill yourself?” Asahiko scolds, his eyes wide.
Myungdae sniffed a little. “Hey, dude. I wouldn’t have let that happen, don’t worry.”
“Oh thanks, that’s really reassuring coming from a literal crackhead.” Asa snipped, coming forward to pull Micha off the ground and away from Myungdae. Micha scooted away, anger flaring up inside her. Now she understood why Changkyun broke up with her. It was all Asahiko’s fault.
“Stop acting like this!” Micha whined, leaning out of Asa’s reach.
Asahiko scoffed, not understanding. “Acting like what?” “Acting like my boyfriend.” Micha narrowed her eyes and shook her head. “You’re not my boyfriend, Asahiko. I don’t need your protection.”
Asahiko’s expression turned to stone. He took a step back, but the distance between them suddenly seemed vaster than just physically. Micha knew she struck a nerve, but she was too intoxicated and too emotionally drained to do damage control.
“You’re right.” Asahiko said flatly. “Enjoy yourself.”
And with that, the Japanese man left, closing Micha’s bedroom door with more force than necessary. Beside her, Myungdae let out a low whistle.
“Y’all got some tension.” Myungdae noted. “We don’t usually fight.” “Not what I meant.” Myungdae smirked to himself before filing another perfect line of white powder with his credit card. He gestured the rolled up bill to Micha. She hesitated slightly before grabbing the dollar.

“What the fuck am I looking at right now.” Eli said in awe.
“I honestly don’t have any words.” Van shook his head. “It’s like a car crash…” Teo frowned. “I can’t look away.”
The three idols sat at the dining table, watching Cal and Ame making out on the couch in front of them. It was an uncomfortable sight to take in. After knowing Cal for most of his teenage years, it was hard to imagine him pulling girls. Or having women interested in him at all. Yet here he was, the most awkward of their ensemble, sucking face with the pretty new member.
“Should you guys like… make it stop?” Teo asked, clearly uncomfortable. “I feel like they shouldn’t be doing this.”
Eli and Van looked between them. As leaders, they probably had the authoritative power to go in and break them up. They could even pull the whole “triptych values our friendly and professional dynamic…” schtick. But the both of them just shook their heads.
“They’re not really hurting anyone.” Van shrugged. “And I’d feel like the worst friend for blowing one of Cal’s few shots with a girl.” Eli admitted.
Teo shook his head. “It’s just wrong. We’re practically co-workers.”
Van clasped a hand on Teo’s shoulder, giving the thinner man a body-rattling shake. “Lighten up, Injung. Here, buddy,” Van poured half his drink into Teo’s empty cup. “Let’s just relax, alright? Nothing wrong with a little smooching. Hell, I love smooching.”
“I love smooching too, but I wouldn’t wanna kiss any of your ugly mugs.”
The three boys looked over as Eunha slid into an empty chair at the dining room table. She glanced over at Cal and Ame (who still seemed to be pretty busy) with an impressed grin on her lips.
“Where have you been all night?” Eli asked, glad to see his old friend. “Been wiping vomit off one of the youngster’s face.” Eunha wrinkled her nose at the unpleasant memory.
“Which one?” Van asked in concern. “Sunhee. Her friends are in my room with her now making sure she drinks some water and doesn’t choke on her own puke. Poor girl just doesn’t know her limits.” Eunha said sympathetically before taking a sip of her own drink.
“Anyways, I came over to ask you guys if you’ve seen Yerin.” Eunha asked.
“I haven’t seen her all night.” Teo realized. “Me either.” Eli frowned. “Have you called her?” “Yeah. I’ve checked the whole apartment too.” Eunha’s voice started to sound a bit more anxious.
“I’m sure she’ll turn up.” Van shrugged. “I heard she’s got some steam to blow off anyways.”
Eunha let out a deep sigh, surveying the room around them. Drunk teenagers and old friends were grouped together. Soojin had a particularly large circle surrounding her as she talked jovially with her free hand.
“I guess things are gonna be a bit different from now on, huh?” Eunha bit her lower lip.
“Yeah,” Eli shrugged, a smirk on his lips. “But things were starting to get boring around here anyways.”

Yerin never comes up to the roof, but she felt like it was the only place she could clear her mind and prepare herself for the call she was about to make.
In a drunken state, she claimed that Johnny was her boyfriend. That wasn’t completely true. Yes, they flirted. Yes, they’ve gone on secretive little dates together to get coffee and whatever. But they’ve never put a label on anything. She wasn’t even sure what Johnny wanted out of their connection. If he wanted to date her, shouldn’t he have said something by now? What if he was just stringing her along? She needed answers right now. It couldn’t wait until morning and it especially couldn’t wait after whatever she pulled in the kitchen.
She paced the rooftop as the phone rang, waiting anxiously for him to pick up. Even though it was still winter in Seoul, the alcohol in Yerin’s system numbed her to the true temperature of the winds wiping around her.
“Hey, Yerin? You okay?” Johnny’s sleepy voice asked on the other line. Yerin only now realized how early in the morning it was. They were nearing the 4am mark, and her group mates were still partying downstairs.
“I’m fine.” Yerin nodded to herself. “I’m drunk.” She added as an afterthought. Johnny chuckled on the other end of the line.
“Aw... “ Johnny cooed. “Do you need me to come pick you up?”
“No. I have something to tell you, though.” Nia stopped pacing and looked out over the city’s landscape. In the distance she could just make out the fluorescent ‘SM’ logo on top of one of the buildings.
“Alright, shoot.” Johnny said mirthfully, his smile almost visible in Nia’s mind.
She swallowed thickly. “I told everyone you’re my boyfriend.”
Johnny was silent for a minute. Yerin was starting to wonder if she shouldn’t have made this phone call after all. Yerin’s drunk brain hit the panic button. Yerin laughed flatley. “Nevermind, sorry for waking you up. This was stupid. I made a stupid mistake. I’ll do damage control tomorrow. Goodnight.”
“Woah, wait, Yerin,” Johnny’s voice responded. “It’s all good.”
Yerin held her breath. Johnny continued. “I mean, I don’t mind that you called me your boyfriend. That’s probably the most accurate title you can give me… Kinda like how I’ve been referring to you as my almost-girlfriend for like… two weeks now.”
The confession made Yerin blink in surprise. She wasn’t expecting that.
“You’ve been calling me your girlfriend?” Yerin asked quietly.
“Yeah. I had to tell my mom.” Johnny gave a small chuckle. “I think she started getting worried I’d never find someone.”
A small smile broke on Yerin’s lips. She swung one of her legs around, spinning herself in a lazy cirlce. “I mean, you found me.” “Right. I found you.” Johnny said fondly. “Hey, where are you right now? Do you wanna come over?”
Yerin groaned. “I’d love to, but I’m at a party with the new members. It’d look so bad if I actually left.”
“You’re at a party? That’s got to be the quietest party I’ve ever heard.” Johnny chortled. “Must be a pretty lame party.”
“Oh, no, I’m on the roof.” Yerin shrugged. “You’re what?” Johnny’s voice suddenly sounded more alert. “You’re intoxicated and you’re on the roof?” “Yeah. Is that an issue?” Yerin’s words slightly muddled together. “Uh, yes?!” Johnny exclaimed. “Get off the roof, dummy.”
Yerin rolled her eyes. “I’m fine, I’m fine!” She protested, but even as she said it, she felt the world around her sway ever so slightly.
“Yerin, get off the roof.” Johnny repeated. “Seriously.”
The vocalist smirked. “Who knew you’d be the protective type?” “Not wanting your girlfriend to die makes you protective?” Johnny wondered. Nia ignored his statement, the word ‘girlfriend’ ringing through her brain. “Say the word ‘girlfriend’ one more time and I’ll get off the roof.” Nia baited in a sing-song voice. “Girlfriend. You’re my girlfriend.” Johnny complied. “Now get off the roof.”  “Hm. That was nice.”  “You’re ridiculous.” Johnny chuckled fondly. “Call me tomorrow, okay?”
“Wait, Johnny?” Yerin quickly asked before he could hang up. “Yeah?”  “Why didn’t you tell me about Soojin?”
Johnny gave a short, airy chuckle. “Because when I’m with you, I’m too focused on you to bring up other girls. You take up my whole brain, Yerin. I mean that.”
Nia’s cheeks flushed, a small smile forming on her lips. “Now get off the fucking roof and drink some water. Please.” Johnny said.
Yerin chuckled. “I’m going down now.” “We’ll make hangover eggs tomorrow, okay?” Johnny promised. “Sounds like a date.” Yerin smiled.
“See you, dork.” “See you, loser.” “Goodnight.” “Goodnight.”

TITLE: The Replacement SUMMARY: S.O.T meets TROIS for the first time. Nia has mixed feelings about Jin. PAIRING: Mentioned Nia x Johnny GENRE: Uhhhh not sure? Like... Maybe mild drama? WORD COUNT: 1.7k WARNINGS: Swearing A/N: hehe trying a different font for post banners. lemme know if it actually works or if it’s ugly. i can’t really tell.

Yerin smoothed her hair down one more time, trying to settle the jolts of anxiety that rattled her chest. What was she so nervous about? On paper, there was nothing for her to be anxious over.
Except if you squint and read between the lines, there absolutely was something to worry about. Yerin took the time to read up on her newest members before meeting them backstage at Music Bank after their debut showcase. All three girls seemed to be promising enough, but there was one member that the leader couldn’t stop thinking about.
Min Soojin was not only the leader of the subunit, but she was the main vocalist and center. All positions that Nia held when she debuted. She was designated to the color red, just like Nia. She had short black hair and bangs, not unlike Yerin’s own signature debut look. Even Soojin’s vocal tone sounded similar to Nia’s. As far as Yerin was aware, this Min Soojin was not just a new member. She was Yerin’s replacement.
Maybe the word ‘replacement’ was a little dramatic. But the uncanny parallels were enough to make Nia raise her eyebrow in skepticism. Plus the way HBH was marketing Soojin left Yerin no choice but to come to the conclusion that Jin was, without a doubt, meant to be the next ‘Nia’. And that was a hard pill for the leader to swallow.
Sitting with Micha and Eunha on a backstage sofa, she bounced her leg absentmindedly as she surveyed the live footage of the performance on the television in front of her. Her eyes were particularly fixated on Jin. Her vocals were strong, but her dancing was clearly not as strong as the other two. A wave of relief passed over Nia when she noticed the flaw in the new girl, followed abruptly by a pang of guilt. Jin wasn’t meant to be competition, she was her team mate. Yerin had to snap out of it.
“They’re good, huh?” Zim bopped her head along to the music, enjoying the performance. “Hyo has a nice flow and Ame’s stage presence is really charming.”
“Yeah, Ame’s gonna be popular, I can tell.” Yen smiled proudly, as if she had a hand in the other girl’s performance. “Jin’s even better live than on recording. I heard she was offered a solo contract.”
“No way,” Zim raised her eyebrows. “I wonder if that’s true.” Nia huffed. “There’s no way. HBH didn’t have any solo debuts planned. I was there for the scheduling meeting.”
Eunha and Micha noticed the icy tone in their leader’s voice.  “It was just a rumor.” Yen muttered under her breath. “Rumors in a small company like ours never end well.” Nia responded a little sharper than she intended.
Yen rolled her eyes before focusing back on the screen, clapping along with the audience as the song ended. The lights on stage went dark, signaling the end of their debut showcase.
In a few minutes, the three sweaty and flushed members of Trois entered the dressing room. Hyo’s eyes widened when she noticed S.O.T sitting down and bowed hastily. Ame and Jin did the same, rushing out greetings to their senior members. An awkward air settled over the six girls, realizing that they have never been in a room together before today.
Nia figured it was time for her leadership skills to shine. She gestured to the couches.
“You should sit down.” Nia suggested. The three girls instantly sat themselves, not hesitating in the slightest. Yerin couldn’t tell if they were just very obedient or very comfortable.
“Here, we’ll go get you guys some food and some water,” Yen offered. “Oh, you don’t have to-” Jin started. Eunha raised a hand to stop her new teammate.
“Let us do this, we didn’t have any seniors to pamper us during our debut. Let us give you what we wish we had.” Eunha grinned before walking off with Yen in her wake towards the buffet table.
Nia cleared her throat, uneasy about being alone with the newbies. What should she say to them?
“Do you feel accomplished?” Nia asked the first thing that came to her head. She only realized how passive-aggressive the comment sounded after it left her lips. The smiles on the girls faces melted into nervous grimaces.
“Well, we practiced a lot,” Jin looked between her two members. “And we’ve been preparing for this for a long time. We haven’t looked at the footage from the stage yet, but I’m confident that we did a good job.”
Nia nodded. “You guys were good. I was impressed.”
The three girls looked between each other with excited glances. “Thank you, Nia.” Jin smiled brightly. “You actually were the one we wanted to get the approval of the most.” “We were afraid you’d hate it and then kick us to the curb.” Hyo spoke up with a smirk on her lips. Jin shushed her friend through laughs, nudging Hyo with her elbows playfully. Hyo fought back, pushing her shoulder into Jin with a giggle. Nia’s eyebrows raised ever so slightly. She’s never had her members play around with her like that. It made her wonder what type of leader-member dynamic Jin had set up with her group mates.
“We didn’t think that seriously, of course-” Ame tried to save her friends.
“Uh, I did.” Hyo arched her eyebrows. She gave Nia a sympathetic look. “No offense, but you can be really intimidating.”
Nia chuckled, shaking her head. “Don’t worry, I promise I’m not as bad as I may seem.”
“That’s a lie.” Yen appeared behind them, carrying plates of food. “She’s horrible the week before a comeback.”
“Oh my god, before Pose dropped, Yerin was like a dictator.” Eunha shared, handing out drinks to everyone. This launched a retelling of all Nia’s strictest and meanest moments, which evoked a mixture of laughs and mortified chuckles from the three new members. The six girls ate their lunch together, swapping debut day stories, predebut memories and advice.
“Oh my god, wait till you guys go to ISAC.” Micha shook her head, pointing her chopsticks in Ame’s direction. “You are going to get so many male idols coming up to you and giving you their numbers, I just know it.”
“Oh,” Ame couldn’t say much more, her cheeks flushed bright red. Jin chuckled, giving Ame a nudge of encouragement.
“ISAC is fun, just don’t get lost.” Eunha shot a mischievous glance over at Nia, who tilted her head back to the ceiling and groaned. One of Nia’s worst memories was getting lost at their first ISAC event, which led to her walking around the gymnasium and avoiding bumping into other idols. There were videos of her awkwardly wandering all over the internet for weeks.
Jin covered her mouth as she chuckled, nodding her head. “Oh my god, Johnny told me about that! I felt so bad, that sounds so scary!”
Nia slowed her chewing down.
“You know Johnny?” She asked, her blood running cold.
Jin nodded, patting the corners of her mouth with a napkin. “Yeah, we met at this club a couple years ago. He’s one of my closest friends. He talks about you kind of a lot.”
“Oh.” Yerin blinked. “He’s never mentioned you.”
“That doesn’t surprise me. He probably didn’t want you getting the wrong idea.” Jin nodded in understanding. “Don’t tell him I said anything, but he seems to like you a lot.” Jin winked. Yerin fought off the urge to respond with ‘yeah, no shit’. Johnny has been her almost-boyfriend for nearly two months now. She wasn’t oblivious to his feelings towards her.
Instead she gave a small smile. The tension was tight for a moment until Hyo let out a loud cuss word, causing all the attention to shift to herself.
“Ah damn!” Hyo whined, pushing her chair back. She had spilled her banana milk all over the front of her stage outfit.
Staff members ran over quickly, handing Hyo a new shirt to change into so they could use stain remover on the blouse before it was too late. In the change of atmosphere, S.O.T’s manager, Hyunjung, rose from her spot at the manager’s table.
“Actually, we should get going,” Hyunjung straightened out her dress pants. “We still have some business to do back at the company.”
“It was nice meeting you!” Ame gushed as the six girls disposed of their food together.
“Next time I won’t spill milk all over myself.” Hyo winked. The S.O.T girls chuckled, said their goodbyes, and followed Hyunjung out of the dressing room.
As soon as they turned the corner, Hyunjung addressed Yerin.
“You could have been a little more subtle.” Hyunjung said severely.
Nia played dumb. “What do you mean?”
“I mean staring daggers at Soojin while you’re having a conversation doesn’t do you any favors.” Hyunjung criticized. “What are you gonna do when you have to start promoting with her? People are going to notice the stiffness between you two. I’d say sort it out, but it’s clearly a one-sided issue.”
Nia’s mouth was agape as she tried to formulate a response that made sense.
“She knows Johnny though. He’s never mentioned her to me. You can’t expect me to not be suspicious after knowing something like that?” Nia said defensively.
“I mean, I know Johnny too.” Yen shrugged. “I’ve hung out with him before when I went to Yuta’s that time.”
“Yeah but that’s different.” Nia insisted, rolling her eyes as the group stepped into the parking lot, heading towards their car. “You’re clearly just his friend and I know you. I don’t know Jin.”
“Just because someone knows your boyfriend doesn’t mean they’re romantically involved with him.” Hyunjung reminded Nia as they buckled their seat belts.
“Johnny’s not my boyfriend,” Yerin said firmly. “Well, at least not yet.”
Hyunjung glanced at Yerin through the rearview mirror.
“Then there's really nothing to be upset over, is there?” Hyunjung asked, a single eyebrow arched.
Yerin didn’t respond, knowing that the conversation was over. Eunha reached her hand across the space between their seats and laced fingers with Yerin comfortingly.
“Hey, you’re still my favorite leader.” Eunha smiled. “And nothing is going to change that.”
Yen leaned forward from her seat in the back. “You’re my favorite leader on the days we have off.” Yen smiled brightly. “And if I was Johnny I’d rather fuck you than Jin.”
“Thanks, guys.” Yerin huffed in amusement as their car pulled out of the parking lot and onto the freeway.

TITLE: Rock Bottom SUMMARY: Min Soojin left YG Entertainment a few months ago. Now she’s trying her best to get back on her feet. GENRE: Drama / some angst?  PAIRING: Platonic! Soojin + Kim Jisoo WORD COUNT: 0.6k WARNINGS: Mentions of declining mental health
Tumblr media
2016
Soojin turned off the faucet and stared at the chipped pink nail polish on her toes, listening to the drip of the water fall from her body and onto the tile floor. The only thing rousing her from her daze was the sound of the apartment door slamming open and then shut again.
“Soojinnie! I’m home!” Jisoo’s cheery voice rang through the small apartment that the two girls shared. Soojin reached for a towel and wrapped it around herself, stepping out of the shower and out into the hallway.
“Jinny, you’re dripping water everywhere!” Jisoo started to scold, but her tone didn’t carry over when her friend turned to face her. The blank look on Soojin’s face broke Jisoo’s heart. “Here, go get dressed. I’ll make us dinner.” Jisoo said softly.
When dinner was served, the two girls sat across from each other, not speaking. Soojin was toying with her food, but the chopsticks in her hands never came close to her lips. Jisoo put down her own chopsticks and pursed her lips, unsure how to console her friend.
“You know, it’s been nearly five months.” Jisoo started slowly. Soojin didn’t look up from her plate. “I know you’re not under YG anymore, but there’s so many other companies out there that would be so lucky to have you.” The other girl scoffed at this statement. Jisoo furrowed her eyebrows. “I’m speaking the truth.” “Ji, I appreciate your concern, but I don’t think I want to be an idol anymore.” Soojin said flatly. There was a thick silence in the air.
“I also think I’m going to move back with my parents next month.” Soojin said quietly, but her words still echoed in the kitchen.
“What?” Jisoo looked shocked. The two of them have been living together since Soojin became a trainee at YG. The idea of Soojin leaving and no longer being her roommate was unsettling to Jisoo.
“Yeah, there’s no point in me staying here.” Soojin shrugged. “I mean, you’re going to be moving out soon to live with your new group mates and there’s no work here for me. I think living with my parents is kind of my only option.” “Stop acting like your life is over!” Jisoo snapped, getting tired of her friend’s sulky attitude. “If you get out there, you will get picked up by another company and you will debut. You have too much talent to just go to waste! Living with your parents is rock bottom, and you are nowhere close to being rock bottom.”
“It sure doesn’t feel like I can get any lower.” Soojin sulked. Jisoo sighed and shook her head, picking her plate up.
“You have so much to live for. You just need to open your eyes.” She said quietly before placing her plate in the sink and hurrying to her bedroom.
Soojin warmed up her voice and made sure the camera was on her. She had exactly three hours until Jisoo returned from practice, and she still had so much to do. It’s been two days since Jisoo and Soojin had their little argument in the kitchen. Soojin figured that her friend was right. She hadn’t hit rock bottom yet. She just needed to get back into the game.

After pressing record on her camera, she stood in the center of her living room, took a deep breath and then opened her mouth.
“Hello, my name is Min Soojin, I am 20 years old from Seoul. I will be singing to the song ‘When I Grow Up’ by Seventeen. Please enjoy.” She smiled and bowed politely before she started singing. Her voice wasn’t as fluid as it used to be from her daily training, but her talent really did shine through. She finished filming with another bow before rushing to turn the video off.

WINTER 2018
Soonyoung was just putting the finishing touches on the song he’s been working on when Sora called.
When he saw his friend’s name pop up on his screen, he smiled to himself. He hadn’t heard much from Sora since her debut a few weeks ago.
“Hey, stinky.” He answered the phone, reclining back in his desk chair. “Has fame changed you yet?”
“Are you busy?” Sora asked, ignoring his joke. Sol’s smile melted. If Sora wasn’t bullying him right back, something must be off.
“Uh, not really,” Sol turned away from his screen, eyebrows furrowed. “I’m just working on some stuff at the company… Why, what’s up?”
“Oh. Nevermind.” Sora said quickly. “I’ll call you another time.”
“Hey, hey,” Sol’s words were cut off by her hanging up on him. Soonyoung sighed heavily. He knew Sora too well to recognize this defense mechanism. He dialed her number back, getting up from his chair and grabbing his things.
Sora answered on the fourth dial tone.
“Seriously, Soonyoung, don’t worry about it.” Sora insisted. Soonyoung could tell she was trying to keep her voice steady. In the background, Soonyoung could make out the sound of cars honking. His eyebrows creased together.
“Where are you?” “I just went for a walk. I needed to get out of the dorm.” Sora explained simply, her voice still tight. Soonyoung’s eyes flickered to the clock on the wall. It was nearing midnight.
“Where are you?” Soonyoung repeated firmly. “Soonyoung, chill.” Sora groaned. “Seriously, I’m fine.” For a moment Sora sounded like herself. But Soonyoung knew better. Sora was a little too good at hiding her emotions. “You really shouldn’t be walking alone at night.” Soonyoung stated, a bit of his impatience bleeding into his words. There was silence on the other line. Soonyoung closed his eyes and tried again.
“How about I meet you outside HBH? We can take a walk together. I won’t say anything if you don’t want me to. I just care about you and don’t want you to be unsafe.” Soonyoung said softly.
He could hear Sora take in a deep breath before releasing it slowly. “Fine.”
Tumblr media
Sora barely smiled when she reunited with Soonyoung. He pulled her in for a hug, receiving a stiff one-armed hug back.
“You okay, kiddo?” Soonyoung couldn’t stop the question from coming out. Sora froze in his arms. Suddenly, her frame started shaking and her hands came down to cover her face.
“Hey… Kid…” Soonyoung blinked in surprise, taking a step back and holding his friend by the shoulders. “Sora, what’s wrong?”
Sora was looking up at the dark sky above them, trying to blink back tears and keep her voice steady. “Nothing.” “Sora,” “There’s nothing anyone can do about it.” Sora snapped, her tearful eyes making contact with Sol’s. “I shouldn’t have called you, it’s so stupid.”
“What’s stupid?” Sol asked carefully.
Sora swallowed thickly, but it didn’t help clear her throat. Her voice was just above a whisper. “I wish I never debuted.”
Sol furrowed his eyebrows and stood up a little straighter. “Why would you say that? Your debut was so successful. You guys are so talented.”
“B-but that’s the problem.” Sora’s breathing started to speed up as tears started flowing down her face in torrents. “E-everyone is e-expecting us to b-be perfect and I-I c-can’t be perfect bec-cause I’m so st-st-stressed all the d-damn time.”
Soonyoung’s heart broke as Sora let herself break down completely now. Sora was one of the toughest people he knew. The amount of stress she must be under to trigger this type of reaction was unfathomable to him. He extended his arms once more and Sora walked right into his chest, letting out body-rattling sobs.
A brotherly hand reached up and patted Sora’s head, smoothing her hair down. “Let it out. It’s gonna be okay.”
“N-No. It’s not!” Sora cried, her tears rolling off Soonyoung’s winter jacket. “I-I’m going to l-let so m-many people d-down.”
Soonyoung shook his head, peeling his friend away again to look at her from arms length. Sora kept her head down, wiping at her tears.
“Sora, hey, just look at me and breathe, okay?” Soonyoung requested. Sora slowly looked up, her eyes bloodshot from crying. She took a few shaky breaths.
“Good, good. Now, listen, you’re doing great. Seriously. I’m so proud of you. You should be proud of yourself.” Soonyoung affirmed. “The truth is, you can’t please everyone. The only person you should worry about letting down is yourself.”
Sora wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. She exhaled, her breathing much more stable than it was.
“You’re right.” She nodded.
“Yeah of course I’m right. I’m always right.” Sol grinned. “Plus, if it makes you feel any better, you’d never let me down.”
Sora pouted, her eyes wide with emotion. “Really?”  “Yeah. My expectations for you are already very low.”
Sora’s lips twisted into a watery smile as she shoved Sol away playfully. “You fucking suck.” “Love you too.” Soonyoung chuckled and wrapped an arm around Sora’s shoulders. “Now, let’s get you back to your dorm before Dayna files a missing persons report.”

“am i your lock screen?” “you weren’t supposed to see that.” for anyone in gen 2!!
oops this took a while & it’s not really edited but! here you go.  warnings: swearing.
Tumblr media
Sometime in 2018
It was Heshen’s favorite picture in the entire world.
The photographs subjects were a slightly younger Sunhee and Chaewon on a swing ride at an amusement park. The two girls were holding up peace signs, their smiles captured mid-laugh and their hair fanning out behind them. Fluffy pink clouds dotted the orange sunset behind them.
He took it during their trainee days, when they finally got a break from their rigorous pre-debut showcase touring. The final stretch of their training period was extremely strenuous, but Heshen was fortunate enough to experience it with Chaewon and Sunhee. Without them cheering him on through those ups and downs, Heshen probably would have packed his bags and moved back to China. When he looked at this picture, it reminded him that no matter how hard things got, he still had Chaewon and Sunhee with him.
Setting the picture as his lock screen was a no-brainer, but he’d absolutely off himself if Sunhee or Chaewon found out. It’s kind of embarrassing, especially when he knows that neither of them have any pictures of them together as their lockscreens. Even though he wouldn’t trade them for the world, Chaewon and Sunhee expressed their adoration for people through bullying. If they picked on his lock screen… He’d never be able to look at the photo the same way again. So, to save his ego from a critical hit, he changes his lock screen to a simple black screen before the three of them hang out.
“And that's why we were dying laughing over clear foil at that photo shoot.” Sunhee explained. She took a long sip from her americano, shaking her head. “I swear, JYP has scarred me permanently with that picture.”
Heshen chuckled, taking a sip of his own coffee. “Maybe you should sue him.” Sunhee barked out a laugh. “Can you imagine? We take JYP to court,” “We demand monetary compensation for his fashion crimes,” Heshen added. “And we accumulate enough to buy JYP,” “We free all their artists and trainees,” “Next thing you know, our faces are all over AllKpop and Soompi.” Sunhee cackled. “‘HBH Rookies Demolish JYP From the Inside’.” Heshen stated a made-up article title.  “Or ‘JYP Burns Down Thanks to Unlikely Heroes’.” Sunhee suggested.  Heshen nodded. “Yeah I like that one better. You should write for gossip outlets if this idol thing doesn’t work out.”  “Shut up.” Sunhee kicked him playfully under the table.
The two friends were chilling in the HBH cafeteria while Chaewon worked on some choreography with Hyo. Heshen was really enjoying spending some time with Sunhee. The two of them hadn’t hung out alone since before their debut. Even though it would have been nice to have Chaewon with them, it was nice to only have to keep up with one chatterbox instead of two.
Suddenly, Heshen’s phone lit up thanks to a system update notification. To Heshen’s horror, the smiling faces of Sunhee and Chaewon were on display instead of the black screen. Sunhee’s eyes flicked to the screen reflexively. Heshen’s hand covered the screen as quickly as he could, but the damage was done.
“Am I your lock screen?” Sunhee asked.
Heshen felt his cheeks burn. “You weren’t supposed to see that.”
“Heshen!~” Sunhee cooed, trying to pry the cellphone out of her group mate’s hands. “Lemme see!” “No, no,” Heshen protested, trying to pull the phone away. Sunhee was a lot stronger than she looked.
“Heshen. Let me see.” Sunhee repeated sternly. “You’re not intimidating, Sunnie.” Heshen responded just as sternly. Suddenly, a pain shot up from his foot. Heshen yelped, releasing the phone to cradle the foot that Sun had stomped on.
Sunhee scrambled to turn his screen on. Her lips pouted when she recognized the picture.
“I remember that night.” She said fondly, a small smile on her lips. Sunhee looked over the top of the phone to frown at Kit. “Why would you hide this? Are you that embarrassed of us?”
Heshen, still cradling his foot, shook his head.
“I just… I don’t know. I didn’t want you guys to like… Make fun of it or anything.” He admitted. Sunhee’s posture wilted. She passed the phone back to Heshen before digging through her bag, fishing out her own cellphone.
“How could I make fun of you when I have this.” Sunhee showed him her lock screen. It was a photobooth strip that the three of them took on the set of their first music video.
“I almost forgot about those.” Heshen murmured. “Good thing I remembered for you, then.” Sunhee grinned. “You and Chaewon are like family to me. I’d honestly be offended if we weren’t your lock screen.”
Heshen grinned. He was going to respond that the two girls were like family to him as well, but then his phone rang. Chaewon’s caller ID popped up on the screen.
He put his friend on speaker.
“Hey what’s-”
“Yo I just made the best fucking choreo. You guys need to get your asses up here. Like right now.” Chaewon spoke quickly. In the background, they could hear Hyo excitedly rambling.
“Okay, okay. Be there in five.” Heshen chuckled before hanging up. He looked over at Sunhee. “I guess our sentimental hour is over.” Sunhee shook her head. “Oh no. It’s just on pause. Chaewon still hasn’t seen your lock screen.”
“Shit.”
