do you think there is any pattern to the jades having 9(10 if you count concept art) distinct body types or could it just be purely random aesthetic for their gem type

No? There's a difference bewteen distinct body type and face shape.

Cog, Wheel and Star share gemstone. Tube having a similar gemstone.

Pompous and Tiny Jade share gemstone and Medium has a similar gemstone.

Fancy is the truly different Jade since everyone else is the same size except her.

And with that being said:

I imagine their body would look like this? They face changes depending on the type of Jade they are but that's all. They look like they may have slightly different body types because of the dress and how they're drawn but calling it distinct is a stretch.

I believe Fancy Jade to be a Jadeite (a rarer type of Jade). Jades, Jadeites and Nephrites are usually a cabochon but they can be faceted. And Nephrite (also a type of Jade) has a different body type, so it fits.

Varieties of Jade have a different face shape but yeah I think I explained my point.

Over the past couple of years, I've designed a bunch of Gem Original Characters - some of which were inspired by Gems that exist within the canon of "Steven Universe"; some of which are a part of the "Gem Galaxies" game; some of which which are designed by other artists and some of which were designed independently by me!

These are mercenary gems. more precisely gemsones. Gemstones hahahhh. it is a soldier like jasper and a pyromaniac like jade. I think it turned out not so bad. later I will make the rest of the mercenaries as gems, but this will have to wait. I hope you like this idea.

Weepy; tragic and wholeheartedly dramatic - Jade is a famous theatrical actor and stage performer who is known for her roles as various Sapphires in many different shows. Her overemotional and sad personality sometimes causes a scene in public and although she would never break character - she enjoys the public attention.
