My therapist has set a date with me to write a letter to my surgeon to approve me for top surgery! I'm well on my way to scheduling my surgery date soon, if all goes according to plan. BUT!

I only have a little over half of my funds raised for top surgery. I have enough money to schedule the surgery itself, but currently don't have enough to cover aftercare supplies or monthly expenses for when I'm off work to recover.

Money is tight because of the holidays and I genuinely cannot raise the money by myself.

Things are looking bad in the states. Some states have prefiled anti trans bills to be considered this upcoming legislative session, and the supreme court is looking at a case that will determine not only if trans children can get access to gender affirming care but also if discrimination against trans people is classified as sex discrimination. The effects of these bills and rulings spread across the states as they set precedent and can decide the fate of trans people all over for decades.

That's why it's so important that I get top surgery ASAP, and have the money to afford it too. There's a very real and scary possibility that my access to this care gets further restricted or taken away entirely. I cannot risk not having this surgery. I cannot live without top surgery. Gender affirming care is life saving, and the hope of getting top surgery has kept me going.
