#tuesdaytips --> Always, ALWAYS #swatch your #newpens , pencils, and paints! . . #swatching your materials is like going on a date... it's a way to get to know your supplies one on one. You get to feel out the personality of the pen, in this case. Each pen, no matter if they are the same kind of pen, has a "personality" of their own. The way the ink flows out and the thickness or thinness of the lines all vary... you may write the same word over and over, and you will notice that each time it will be written slightly different, because each pen is different, even if it's the same brand... I feel like sometimes, pens even have minds of their own. . . I used to hate #swatchingcolors when I was younger... makes sense since I had no idea the real work you had to put into art, and dating 😅👍... I was always just hanging out and winging things and then would get upset when things didn't work out accordingly, in art and in life. . . But now as an adult I have figured out the importance and necessity of "dating properly"and getting to know someone on a deeper level. In turn have figured out how important and necessary swatching is... Now I know what I'm working with every time and choose colors and lines with more purpose, which leads to less errors in my art, and more art that I am proud of 🥰👍... . .
