gege i need you to put the complexity ball down bc it's effecting your consistency.

so i'm on my bullshit as always thinking about the death paintings brothers, as you do. and since i recently rewatched the brother fight in s1 i'm like newly haunted by inconsistencies. first it's said that only 1-3 of the brothers are considered special grade but then when mahito asks why the society didn't just destroy the brothers kenjaku says it's because they were too strong, like... ALL of them. because if the others are weaker they could've just destroyed those ones and sealed the other 3. even if say, they're grade one and that's still too strong like... by the modern era there are 4-5 special grade sorcerers before the series even truly starts. surely yuki or gojo's powers would've been able to easily take out brothers 4-9 if that's the cut off point. but they didn't so either they're all lazy (truly possible) or they couldn't.

the wiki also says that all fully incarnated death paintings are considered special grade (but won't cite a fucking source for that 🔫). so like.... they're all just fucking special grade then and Choso, Eso and Kechizu were the most special-iest grade. which then also makes it like..... so then HOW are we saying they're in the same category as the disaster curses, Gojo, Geto, Yuki, Sukuna etc and they get fly swatted so fucking easily by Yuji and Nobara? like i love Yuji and Nobara but.... the math...... doesn't math..... Choso almost killed Yuji. The only reason he didn't is because he went nuts before he could finish the job. Like dude... what's the point of making them because "you wanted to write sibling relationships" and then IMMEDIATELY killing them and in doing so making special grade look like it's taking a dip in meaning?

and if all the forms the brothers take are arbitrary bc they never had a fully developed body like other incarnated objects then why does only Choso look super normal? Like way to signal who's gonna be part of the plot for more than 5 chapters.

my other beef is that at the start he says they had no real memory of their mother and their strength didn't come from her grudge at all. also that they'd existed in the storage shed with only the barest concept of each other's presence and then later we see a panel of them all literally having a fucking conversation. also why didn't Eso and Kechizu have freak outs like Choso??????

like genuinely i think he just got so in his head for half of this shit that he missed a lot of contradictions and plotholes. and the cursed womb/death painting plotlines is one of the places where it's clearest he'd had an idea he'd liked okay but as thing progressed could devote no time to at all. hence shit like the other brothers NEVER being incarnated and Choso dying so we never have to confront what his existence means or the thematic and whatever shit around him. especially since later there's all the talk of removing the incarnated sorcerers from their host bodies which would've likely also applied to the death paintings but with them it's an even MORE fraught conversation considering their origin, how the society treated them and how they're LITERALLY YUJI'S SIBLINGS.
