We are sad to announce Vonda N. McIntyre, a sci fi writer familiar to many of us Trek fans for The Entropy Effect (she gave Sulu and Uhura their first names, “Hikaru” and “Nyota” ) and the novelizations of The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, and The Voyage Home, died on April 1, 2019 from pancreatic cancer. She was perhaps was better known in the sci fi community for her Hugo Award winning book Dreamsnake and for The Moon and the Sun.
