a list of funniest things jason todd could do:
slowly steal the parts of the batmobile and reassemble it elsewhere, then pull up next to bruce in his own second secret batmobile
become a lawyer and get joker setenced to the death penalty - bonus is that he completes college and gets a degree which bruce never did and alfred is proud beyond the gravethat one of his grandkids actually completed college
change bruces name to "free trires" in his phone contacts
call time the wrong name everyday, but it starts of sounding like a genuine mistake (tom, jim ect) and slowly gets further and further away from the original (jimothy, jeremy, dave, the dogs name)
dye his hair red, claim he was an original red head and then gaslight the family into believing bruce made him dye his hair black to look more like dick and be a replacement
come out as gay and claim to be the only gay member of the batfamily and when tim tries to say something to dispute it he just hits him with "who are you again? the computer guy or smthing?"
could also come out as poly and roll up to family dinners with more than one partner and if someone says something about it, he just says "mad cuz i got TWO more partners than you huh. lonesome bitch."
feel free to add on
LMAAAAOO THIS IS GREAT
Let's go.
Made a carbon copy of Batman and spread in strategic places on the Batcave, Tim's boat, Clock Tower, Duke's nest and Dick's house. (He almost killed them)
(One of Dick's colleagues saw it and he had to lie he was this die hard Batfanboy, his ego never recovered until today.)
Stole Tim's mug and placed on Damian's room, stole Damian's mug and placed on Tim's boat then proceeded to visit the Manor until he hard the scream of the fight he planted between them;
When he saw Bernard for the first time he said "Whoa Timmy you move on fast, this one is Terry right?";
Did a Tramp Stamp tattoo;
Slut shames Dick every chance he gets (this one is actually cannon);
Shot Dick's phone;
Every Christmas shows up with a different Outlaws member and affirms that's his partner
Dated an arrow to piss of his dad, when Bruce got over it proceeded to date a lantern instead;
Never told no one other than Dick he's actually in a stable relationship with Artemis because he refuses to swap Bruce's horrified reaction to a normal one;
Gave Bernard the shovel talk;
When he bumped with Selina after the (failed) marriage and she teased him on how he didn't gave her shit for it he just answered "No, no I get it"
Purposely brings Harley to bat reunions under the bullshit "She's my therapist" when the bats bother him, knowing his therapy with Harley only count when they're at her office;
Told every one he's Harley's adopted kid (actually Harley was the one to say that once when she was drunk and he just went along with it);
Exchanged Bernard's number to Kon's in Tim's cell phone and vice-versa;
Left his Mustache grow and showed up as Matches Malone in one of Wayne's Gala;
Lied he was actually a Titan but they kicked him out because Dick's is an asshole;
Stoled Signal's Patrol Lunch;
Stole's Spoiler's lunch;
Brought alcohol to manage going through their family gathering when he was caught he blamed on Tim;
(He thought about blaming on Dick but he knew Dick would just go along with it)
Everytime Dick, Barbara and Bruce call him he answers with "He's dead";
Introduced Tim to the Outlaws with "That's Robin they found him on the thrash"
Showed up to Barbara's job dropped a "Hi mom" as a greeting then proceeded to laugh his ass off while Barbara tried o explain to her coworkers that that tank of a man wasn't her child;
Told Dick Talia adopted him;
Told Talia Dick adopted him;
Told Damian that if Batman dies he's going to adopt him out of spite;

The real problem with Rhaenyra having three obvious bastards.
As I said before, if you have a problem with what I wrote, ignore this post or dispute my words on your own blog, just don't mention me or comment on my post. You won't change my mind, especially if you choose to approach expressing your disagreement with my post in ridiculing me. I'm not expecting you to agree(as we all are individuals, so naturally our opinions vary), just saying if your comment is in any way aggressive then you will be blocked and your comment deleted. So don't bother. And sorry for any grammar mistakes, english is not my first language.
As a person who believes in the inheritance in the Firstborn SON'S claim, therefore supporting Team Green(and no, my views for the ASOIAF universe, A FICTIONAL WORLD, do not correleate with my modern real life views and no I don't agree with Team Green's representatives every action), I don't actually care that Rhaenyra had bastards. That's not my issue. King's have bastards all the time(even tho I belive as King's it's still frowned upon). But the thing is, there is a big difference. Let me explain:
To put it simply, as misogynistic as it is, Rhaenyra is a woman. The difference between a man and a woman is that during their time(Medieval times) and their universe, DNA tests do not exist. You cannot prove wether a man has a bastard or not, if he doesn't personally claim it as his(even if it's likely, like with King Aegon II). He is not the one carrying the child so even if the child comes out looking like him, no one can prove the child is his. But a woman CAN get pregnant, and when the child comes out not looking like her OR her husband, it can and(in their universe) will be assumed that said child is a bastard.
And I do believe that even in the books Rhaenyra's first three sons are bastard, because I belive in the ASOIAF universe, genetics work differently and that you can actually only look like either one of your parents. But that's just my opinion and I don't think it's actually been confirmed by George.
Now, she did not go about this smartly and since im the show, the accusation of her having bastards(SOMETHING THAT WAS ASSUMED BY MANY IN THE BOOKS AND NOT JUST ONE PERSON), was made canon, then let's go by that logic. The main issue, is that she knew her sons were bastards...yet she tried passing them off as legitimate and even let them inherit. That's considered High Treason that not even King's, that had at least mediocre intelligence, did.(unless the child was legitimized, tho even that caused crisis)
"What would you have her do! She had no choice! Laenor was gay and just couldn't do it!"
There are two different ways to have gone about this:
First way:
She had three. THREE. Even if in the books they were legitimate, had she(and with that also Laenor) been smart and seen the risk of her first son with Laenor not looking like either of them, therefore being accused of bastardy, that should've been her sign to not further procreate with Laenor. They already had a son, having only one would have been easier to argue. But three sons that look like neither of them? A bit suspicious in their time and world.
Second way:
If in the books they were illegitimate, and she did have an affair with Harwin, meaning she held little regard for her marriage with Laenor, she could've hired someone(a lowborn to easily dispose of)with similar features to Laenor to impregnate her while keeping her affair with Harwin. She is a royal and she obviously holds little, if any, regard to those below her. She should have had no problem disposing of said man she sleeps with considering her actions in the books AND in the show. That was the smartest and safest way to go about it. Also, if her first bastard came out looking like Harwin, then she should've also just stopped at the first one. As said before, arguing one bastard's legitimacy is easier than three.
Main conclusion, she was dumb and set her sons up for failure. So that's that. There were ways to have gone about this. She just needed the correct strategy for it.
And the main problem was trying to dit a bastard on the throne after her. That's the biggest issue.

The love story of Marueen Brodoff and Ellen Wade runs nearly half a century, never mind that the state of Massachusetts only recognized their union for the last 20 years.
"We were married in our hearts a long time before that," said Brodoff, who was among the very first same-sex couples in the United States to legally wed.
"Were we trailblazers? No, we didn't feel that way," she told ABC News in an interview at the family's Newton, Massachusetts, home. "But we did feel like we had a story to tell."
Two decades after the first LGBTQ+ Americans entered into legal marriages in Massachusetts -- the first state to extend the right to same-sex couples -- their stories have become a familiar part of the tableau of American families, helping to transform public opinion and dispel fears about the consequences of the social shift.
Of the 1.2 million same-sex couple households in the U.S. as of 2021, roughly 710,000 were married, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
A strong majority of Americans (71%) think same-sex marriage should be legal, according to the latest Gallup polling. Nearly 30 years ago, barely a quarter of the public held a supportive view.
"It's a recognition by the state, by the community, by your friends, by your workplace, that you're in this relationship, and that it's a very important relationship," Wade said, "and that you're entitled to be treated the same as the person that sits next to you at work and is in a heterosexual relationship."
A groundbreaking analysis of 96 studies over the last 20 years conducted by the RAND Corporation last month – the first and most extensive report of its kind – finds that the impact of extending marriage rights to same-sex couples in the U.S. has been "consistently positive."
"The benefits to same sex couples were unambiguous and very strong," said Benjamin Karney, a UCLA psychology professor and co-author of the report.
Data show clear gains in mental health, economic well-being, physical health and relationship stability among married LGBTQ families, Karney said. Studies have also noted a drop in hate crime rates for LGBTQ+ individuals since the extension of marriage rights.
Researchers also scrutinized claims raised by same-sex marriage opponents years ago that allowing gays and lesbians to legally marry would affect the development of children, undermine a key social institution and diminish the benefits of marriage for different-sex couples.
"Marriage cannot be severed from its cultural, religious and natural roots without weakening the good influence of society," then-President George W. Bush said shortly after Massachusetts granted the first marriage licenses to same-sex couples in 2004.
"The children of America have a right to have a mother and a father," warned then-Gov. Mitt Romney, a Republican, in testimony before Congress on the expansion of marriage rights in Massachusetts. "It may affect the development of children and thereby future society as a whole."
Karney said RAND found "no evidence" to support those claims and others.
"On the contrary, what we found is that whenever there's a significant effect on different sex marriage, it was a positive effect," Karney said. "In the years immediately following a state legalizing marriage for same sex couples, there was a slight rise in marriage rates for different sex couples."
"Critics might have different new arguments," Karney added, "but they can't rehash the old arguments because the data seems pretty clear."
Sarah Parshall Perry, a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank helping set the agenda for a potential second term for former President Donald Trump, said most Republicans have abandoned efforts to rollback LGBTQ+ marriage rights.
"I don't think any conservatives worth their salt – any conservative scholars are calling for that. Precedent is precedent for a reason," she said, referring to the 2015 landmark Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges that guaranteed marriage rights to same-sex couples nationwide.
LGBTQ+ rights advocates aren't so confident.
"I don't think that we can take any of our rights for granted," said Kelley Robinson, president of the Human Rights Campaign. "If the last couple of years have taught us anything, it's that it is within the ability of the Supreme Court in a single day to work to roll back our rights of the last 20 years, 40 years, 50 years."
When the Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote a concurring opinion to the Dobbs ruling openly calling for reconsideration of other longstanding precedents, including those involving marriage and contraception.
Robinson said there is cautious optimism among community leaders and allies in this high-stakes election year.
More than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in state legislative sessions this year, according to the ACLU. But less than 7% have become law, in a notable decline from last year when more than 13% were enacted.
"Our community, when we show up, when we show up at the ballot box, when we show up in state legislatures, equality wins every single time," Robinson said.
Perry, the Heritage Foundation legal fellow, said "political will" to restrict LGBTQ+ rights has waned on the right in a campaign year with more pressing issues like inflation, crime and abortion rights.
"As we go into an election year, the stakes are significantly higher and will play, I believe, very much into the national dialogue as opposed to simply at the state level," she said.
As debates over LGBTQ+ equality continue – particularly in the areas of transgender health care and sports participation – Brodoff and Wade said living out and proud as a family is the best way they can continue momentum toward greater acceptance.
"If you know families like us, your opinions are more likely to change," said Kate Brodoff.
"Partly what the answer is to people who are skeptical is that marriage and the rights of marriage, and to build strong, stable, loving families – It's at the core of not just LGBTQ people want, it's sort of it's what marriage is about," said Wade.
Asked about the secret behind their nearly five decade bond, Wade added, "I think we kind of tried to take each other as we are and accept what we can't change."

Meant To Stay The Worst - Pt. 4
Desc: Alastor meets Reader's father for the first time and asks him for her hand in marriage
Alastor x reader
Tags: ongoing, marriage, confessions / proposals, manipulation and toxic relationships, canon typical violence and language
(<- Pt. 3 -- Pt. 5 -> )
---------------
So, today Alastor would meet your father...
You'd like to tell yourself you didn't care about your father's approval at all, but that wouldn't be true.
Of course, you'd still be together with whoever you wanted to be regardless of his opinion; but you still hoped your father would finally accept any of the decisions you made.
You already told your father that you were dating someone and you wanted the two of them to meet.
You thought he'd be extremely happy about the fact that this may finally be a chance to get you out of the house, but for some reason, he didn't really seem that happy about it.
When Alastor and you arrived at your father's property he was surprised to see several employees bowing to the two of you and politely greeting you.
"Miss Y/N, I am glad to see that you are back. The lord is already awaiting you..." one of the workers of the place gave you a quick bow and handed you a key. Despite her words, she didn't even look at the two of you, not seeming to actually care if you were there or not.
You just nodded wordlessly and used the key to let yourself in. Alastor was confused by the way your... 'home' seemed to work. It was cold. It seemed more like a workplace or a company.
When the two of you entered the house you gave him a shy smile and spread your arms wide to sarcastically present him the extravagant hallway. "We're here. Yay..."
"Oh Y/N, you're finally back! Oh? So that's the guy you're fucking, huh? Interesting..." a man only a few years older than you chuckled - looking eerily similar to you, while walking down the stairs.
Alastor narrowed his eyes at him when the man - your brother... - stepped way too close to him.
"So that's what you're into. You should've told me earlier and I could have arranged something!" Your brother Ashton laughed, "Though I always thought you were more on the other side of the spectrum, if you know what I mean..."
You narrowed your eyes at him. "Is that what you want to talk about? Really? Because I can-" You started but got interrupted when Ashton pressed a hand on your mouth. "Shut up sweetheart, okay? Shut up."
You slapped his hand away from your face with a glare. He just rolled his eyes and turned around to go to his room again.
There was a lot of drama going on in your family in the last couple of weeks... The fiance of your lovely cousin Maria cheated on her. With a man... Your brother.
The engagement was called off immediately, though barely anyone knew the exact reason why. Maria was probably too embarrassed to admit the actual reason. Same-sex relationships were way too controversial in your time.
You obviously always knew that your brother and Alan - one of your oldest acquaintances (and Maria's fiance) were gay.
You didn't really care for all the drama or your brother's and your cousin's love life. Though him sticking his nose into yours was kind of bold considering his situation.
Alastor raised an eyebrow at your little dispute, but you just quietly shook your head, signaling him to not worry about it.
Then, finally, the two of you entered the dining hall.
It was way bigger and more pretentious than Alastor thought was necessary. Though he could respect a man who had his priorities straight. Speaking of who...
When your father entered the room, Alastor noticed you immediately straightening your posture.
The man had a cold look on his face as he looked Alastor up and down.
But Alastor didn't seem fazed at all. He stepped closer to the man and held out his hand to him.
"Mister L/N, it is an honor to be meeting you. My name is Alastor." The two men shook hands, which was followed by an awkward moment of silence with your father scrutinizing Alastor and him fixing his suit.
You had to admit Alastor had to either be an extremely good actor or he just really didn't give too many fucks about your father's opinion. Either way his ability to not be intimidated by him was quite impressive.
Your father invited the two of you to sit down, explaining the cooks will have the food ready soon.
And when the food finally arrived - after another extremely long and awkward silence - Alastor seemed delighted. It did seem to be quite an expensive meal, at least. However, the seasonings were a little lackluster compared to what he was used to.
"So, Alastor. What is it you do for a living?" Your father asked.
And so, a moment of your father asking Alastor questions and him answering with a grin started. It was kinda odd watching the two of them - both seemed extremely calculated and like there was always some underlying message in their words. All in all, it was just a lot of passive-aggressiveness.
When you were at the point where you were pretty sure they actually hated each other you excused yourself to the bathroom. Though you hated to leave the two of them alone with each other, you just couldn't take it anymore.
When you returned to them, the only wish you had was that no one died, but what actually happened was even more surprising.
Your father smiled.
He. fucking. smiled. At Alastor.
And he patted him on the shoulder like a proud father would to his son.
Beyond shocked, you tried to look at the clock on the wall or pinch yourself or look for any other clues that you may just be in some kind of fucked-up lucid dream.
But you didn't find any. Then your father looked at you and nodded in approval.
As you were currently trying not to die of a heart attack from complete shock - Alastor stepped at your side and pulled you towards him by the waist. "I'm going to return home again now, but I will call you by the end of the day if that is alright with you?" He asked.
"I... uh, sure." You answered and after giving you a quick kiss on the cheek Alastor left, the staff leading him outside.
Now you were alone in the room with your father.
God... this was embarrassing. You were about to leave and go to your room when your father spoke. "You like this man, don't you?"
You froze.
"I- uh guess... No, I... I do." You answered, your face turning even more red than before.
Your father nodded. "Good for you. Stick with a person you really like, alright?"
You were confused by his sudden honest advice but nodded.
When you returned to your room that night you continued wondering about what the hell Alastor and your father were talking about, while you were gone until you fell asleep.
--------------
"It's unlike you to not bring a radio." You grinned at Alastor. Both of you were sitting on a picnic blanket together. Just like on your first date.
But this time he hadn't prepared the food on his own, but both of you had, together.
Alastor gave you a small smile after your statement, but it was more hesitant than usual. "Do you know why?" He asked you.
You blinked at him perplexed. "Uh... no?"
He smiled, "Being a radio host is something I love doing. And it's also a mask I can hide behind. You could say it's something like my persona... But I don't feel like I have to act like my persona in front of you."
Touched by his words you took his hand in yours and looked into his eyes. He looked back into yours and smiled. You knew Alastor pretty well at this point, so you knew by now that most of his smiles were fake. It was a mask he wore to always appear in control of a situation.
But in his eyes, you could see that he actually meant to smile at you at this moment.
"I'm not sure I can ever completely disable it. But I want to try. For you." He added, genuinely.
Alastor was a prideful man, but he not only admitted his weakness in front of you, but he also promised to try to do better for you. You weren't sure if anyone else would get it like the two did, but you knew this meant really much to him right now. And you were grateful.
He now took both of your hands in his. "I'm going to be honest with you now... because I know I can be with you. I always thought love was stupid. But I don't think that anymore; ever since I met you. And even if it was, I'd think it's okay as long as I can be with you. Meeting you was the was best thing that happened in my entire life. And you accepting to be with me was more than I could ever ask for. Especially when you continued to stay with me through... things no one would have. I love you, Y/N. And I am sure of that now."
You felt a lump inside your throat at his extremely sweet and honest words. Trying to blink away tears, you cleared your throat to respond but Alastor stopped you with a finger on your mouth.
Then he pulled something out of his pocket and kneeled in front of you.
Your eyes widened in shock.
"Y/N.... I love you. And I would like to spend my entire life with you. And I promise that I would tear apart heaven and hell for you, if you only asked me to. Please stay with me and be my partner forever and I will be yours. Y/N L/N... Will you marry me?"
...
You covered your mouth with your hand in disbelief and tears started actually welling up your eyes now.
You never actually thought you'd react so stereotypically. But that was probably because you never thought you'd actually love someone that much. So much, that you wanted to bind yourself to them by law. And form a family with them.
But you did. Being expected to stay with him forever and have a family is something that you want now. With him.
"I... I-" Your voice broke and you started crying. Alastor gave you a gentle smile and held your face in his hand. "Darling?"
"I- I do..." you whispered, with tears streaming down your face now. Alastor smiled softly, wiping them away with his thumb and kissing you on your cheek, then your nose, and then your mouth. Then he pulled away with a soft smile again.
"I love you..." He whispered, sliding the engagement ring on your finger.
You smiled at each other, then you kissed again.
In this moment you thought that every struggle in your life had been worth it, just so you could live until this moment.
The two of you stayed like this together for a while.
In a park, underneath a big tree with pink flowers. You leaned your head against Alastor's shoulder - imagining to be together with him for the rest of your life now. Just like he asked you to.
After a while, the two of you had to get up though. After packing together all of your things Alastor smiled at you with pure love in his eyes, taking your hand and planting a kiss on the back of it.
He was so gentle with you, always.
Then the two of you walked back, him planning to bring you to your house.
But on your way, you were interrupted... by someone you knew all too well.
A tall, blonde boy recognized you and walked towards Alastor and you with confidence.
"Actually, let's go that way." You said, dragging Alastor in the opposite direction, the one you were just coming from.
But it was no use.
"Y/N!!" You heard the voice of the very person you were trying to hide from right behind you.
Annoyed you sighed and turned towards him. "Heyy... Alan..! What are you doing here?" He would never be downtown by his own choice.
"What do you mean? Even I sometimes mingle around... peasants." He said while looking around the place with a raised eyebrow.
Yeah, you highly doubted that. But why would he be here then?
He cleared his throat. "My fair maiden, Y/N. Let us unite in the bond of marriage-"
"Woah, okay....!" You interrupted him and stared at him dumbfounded. "...Are you fucking kidding me?"
You certainly never expected to be proposed to twice. On a single day.
Alan tried to stay composed and just answered: "Please, watch your language fair maiden-"
"What the hell? What are you trying to do..?!" You asked irritated. But when you thought about it some more you realized it.
He blew his chance to marry your cousin Maria - and his parents pressured him to marry into your family in at least some way.
Although he had an affair with your brother, their relationship wasn't socially accepted, so officially marrying you would be the smartest move on his part.
And since you were chronically single, he probably thought this wouldn't be a problem.
But you just had to suddenly be in a relationship, when it was important to him for you not to be. You never had been in a relationship before... so why now??
That's what he thought at least. You on the other hand were just embarrassed by his proposal.
Obviously, both of you weren't actually interested in the other, but even besides that: you two knew each other since you were children. And you were a year older than he was and still remembered when he was just a spoiled little brat - which he still is - but even besides that, he was just a kid to you. Or like... an annoying younger sibling you want to cut contact with.
You felt Alastor tense next to you, the grip on your hand tightening.
God...
Alastor has always been the possessive type, so this definitely won't go well, if this conversation continues.
Alan noticed Alastor's angry glare and gave him a cocky grin. "My apologies, didn't see you there. Who is this? Are you Y/N's friend?"
Great. Now it definitely felt like the aura around Alastor was darkening.
"Alan... please stop your antics. Even if I wasn't engaged now," you showed him your ring to further demonstrate your point, "I would rather die."
Alan furrowed his eyebrows, trying not to look irritated at your statement.
"Always the feisty one. We always did have so much in common-"
"Come on, we both know the only thing you like about me is my brother."
Now his grin finally faded and he glared at you.
So that finally hit a nerve...
"Okay, you listen now Missy: I wanted to make this easy for all of us, but if you want to play dirty - I can play dirty." Now he directed his gaze at Alastor, "You are just some no-name and you do not belong in this family."
You expected Alastor to get even angrier, but to your surprise, he just seemed amused by the boy's speech. "Actually, I am a famous radio host!" Alastor retorted.
"Really? So, why have I never heard of you then?" Alan asked while crossing his arms.
"Obviously, because you're uncultured." Alastor grinned.
"Oh, you're calling me uncultured?! You little-" Alan gritted his teeth but held back from actually insulting Alastor, who just raised his brow at him. "Listen, I mean this in the kindest way possible: back off or you'll regret it."
At that Alastor just straight up laughed in his face. "You're going to make me regret it? How so?" He hummed.
"Glad you asked." Alan pulled out some neatly folded papers from his pocket. After he carefully unfolded them he read: "The evil serial killer of Louisiana. Probably a man in his 20s to 30s, is suspected to also have killed the previously most popular radio-star of the area. Strangely, this gave rise to Alastor - the now most popular radio-star of the same area, who has publicly declared his dislike for the man even before his death. Maybe we should look into this a little more, hm? Especially since I've noticed that the free time of this certain new radio-star perfectly fits with the times the killer's victims had been killed."
You blinked in surprise, while Alastor's expression didn't change.
"This is no proof. Also, it's impossible, Alastor and I have been together in his free time." You immediately defended him.
"All of his free time?" Alan raised a brow and smirked.
"Yeah..." you lied.
Alan just rolled his eyes, "Look, I really don't care. And I bet the police won't care too much about concrete evidence either with people like him."
God, he was gonna pay for that comment...
You released Alastor's hand and clenched your fists in anger. But before you could step any closer to the man Alastor stopped you with a smile - his eyes radiating malice.
"Let me handle this, darling."
Oh shit.
Alastor stepped close to Alan, who just rolled his eyes and chuckled. "What are you going to do? Hit me?"
Alastor didn't respond and you saw him ball his right hand into a fist. Alan saw that and tried backing off, but was interrupted by Alastor's fist colliding with his jaw at full force.
He immediately fell to the ground with a loud thud. People started gathering around you now to see what was happening.
Alan let out pained moans and covered his face with his hands, you saw droplets of blood falling to the ground from Alan's face.
Shit, this must have hurt really really bad. Alastor is physically a lot stronger than he looks, because of his hobby as a... hunter.
Even you felt a little sorry for the boy now.
Alastor didn't though and just wiped his hand on his coat.
"Fuck, you... you broke my nose!" Alan shouted angrily looking up at him while holding his nose.
Alastor just smiled and calmly leaned down to cower over him. Alan immediately shut up and his eyes widened. "Let this be a warning, boy. But if you bother us again, I will make you wish you were never even born in the same universe as me. Do you understand that?" Alastor whispered calmly.
Alan looked like he was about to actually shit his pants - too scared to even nod. Alastor then grabbed the papers from his hands and tore them in half in front of his eyes. "And you better not tell a single soul about your little discoveries."
Then he got up and cleared his throat, returning to your side with a smile and taking your hand in his.
Everyone around you was silent, besides a few people whispering.
"Anyway... How about we eat Jambalaya this evening? We can cook it together, I heard my mother and you spent some time together to learn her recipe."

A/N:
I actually didn't expect to write that much for the living world, but yeah. I'm like rewatching Hazbin Hotel for the 8929383 time and FINALLY want to write reader's relationship with Charlie, Angel, Demon Alastor, etc.
Btw, Maria and Ashton and Alan... our little oc side characters will maybe even be there in hell! Yay..?
Also, I'm sure this goes without saying, but if you want to imagine some things differently you always can. This is obviously just my own self-indulgent story, even when I try to water things down to make this as reader-neutral as possible.
You can always give me suggestions as long as the story is going on! Right now I'm thinking about whether or not to give Alastor and reader a child before they die. They have a relatively traditional relationship during that time and Alastor is 23 rn and dies with 30+ so the possibility would be pretty high. Tell me your opinions, please, if you have time.
Thank you guys for reading! I'm greatful for all of your support, I mean it(: Thank you for leaving likes and comments. It keeps me motivated.

A take on Rhaenyra's usurpation and the coming line of succession
I don't usually take sides. I do not. And I'm sorry for the long scroll you've got to do. But reading the succession line page of Fire and Blood kind of makes me very sad.
People can argue whatever they want but saying 'Aegon's ascent was disputed by his half-sister Rhaenyra' rather than 'Rhaenyra's ascent was disputed by her half-brother Aegon' is the worst thing that could happen to her.
Everyone can say whatever they want and I'll take your opinions in consideration, respecting it with grace, but Rhaenyra was the rightful heir till the end of Viserys I's reign. Whether it is the show or book, she remained being one. Despite Alicent doing it willingly or mistakenly, Rhaenyra does get usurped.
This sentence here makes it quite clear that Viserys didn't care about what the Lords of Westeros thought and to be honest, as a king he really does not need to. (And it really does not goes into the point of Maegor doing as he wanted) The king's is the final word when it comes to Monarchy. If Viserys says Rhaenyra is the heir, she is the heir. Jaehaeyrs, named Baelon his heir instead of Rhaenys, Aemon's daughter, because he wanted to, he brought the Council of 101 because he wanted to. Just as Viserys names his daughter his heir because he wanted to. For if he didn't, had Aemma not died, had he not married Alicent, Daemon would be his heir. But this was his first and foremost decision after losing his wife and child.
Many say that if Rhaenyra couldn't bear to do sacrifices then she should have given up her claim but there is one thing that we need to realise.
Rhaenyra was the first ever woman to officially named heir.
Surely, there have been many women who were names heir presumably before.
Aerea/Rhaella Targaryen was heir to both Maegor and Jaehaeyrs.
Rhaena, Aenys' daughter, could have been also considered his heir until Aegon the Uncrowned was born.
But Rhaenyra's accession as the heir is pointed out in book being lavish and how many lords did bend their knee to her. Rhaenyra's accession as the heir and future reigning Queen was a way to open a door, to pave a path for all the other woman born in House Targaryen to be able to get the heirship.
It is not a small thing. It is a duty that she has been given. A duty not just for herself but for all the girls, all the women who might have been born before their younger brothers and could be passed over by them just for the fact of them being woman.
I won't say she didn't make mistakes. She did. But even as a character we need to understand that we read about a human. She did what she had to, to salvage from whatever she was given.
She was given a shitty situation, to be honest. Married to a man who unofficially known to be gay, even the council knew of this when the matter of her marriage was called upon the discussion.
And to be honest, if I were in Rhaenyra's place, being given the ability to change the laws of succession, being able to prove that I could be better than what everyone thought if me, even I would give up my stubbornness and deal with hand that I'm dealt with.
Rhaenyra had more to lose than anyone in this situation. And she would not only bring herself down in this situation but also the other women who would come after her too.
And that's what exactly happened even after trying everything she could.
The line of succession page in the first two images is exactly what ends up happening because some people couldn't bare the thought of Rhaenyra, a woman, ascending the throne.
Because either willingly or mistakenly, Alicent Hightower wanted her blood on the throne as Viserys himself says this in the book.
When we read this highlighted line, we must understand this that Alicent either had talked to Viserys about it or showed it from her actions. And this is being talked pointedly about the book. Not the show. The book.
Rhaenyra's refusal to accept Aegon's accession is no way wrong. She is the rightful heir. It is her right. Something she is given by her father. Something her father didn't want another person, much less his own sons, to have.
And this is usurpation.
This usurpation, The Dance Of The Dragons, it leads to the future kings, Viserys II and his council to consider not putting Aegon III's daughter Daena at the throne after all her older brother were dead. He rather installs himself as the king and then his son, Aegon IV.
Of course, she and her sisters were kept away from the world, all the thanks to Baelor the idiot (I refuse to call him blessed), she could still have learned. She was loved by small folk. Some lords even supported her. But only because her grandmother had been usurped, only because men were too afraid of what would happen if she were to become a reigning queen, too plauged with past to even do the right thing, she too was passed over for her Uncle.
Well here ends my Ted talk.
And for my works and a very shameless self-promotion here's my masterlist
Lots of love 💕

Random worldbuilding from The Unfinished Book:
While there is no unified, clearly defined LGBT community, the people who would by our definition fall under that umbrella are heavily associated with religion. While the general cultural assumption is that everyone is at least a little bit bisexual - the idea that almost everyone hypothetically could encounter a woman so handsome or a man so beautiful that they'd go gay for them is aknowledged well enough to be a common theme in poetry and literature - being queer is more or less considered a way in which various gods "earmark" their own.
This is considered a matter beyond obvious - there are whole creation myths of how the gods who created the world grew annoyed about how all the humans they made were too busy having and raising their own children to properly focus on worshipping their gods or caring for society at large, so the gods saw fit to create people who would rather love their own sex, or not desire marriage or children at all, to ensure there are some whose hands and minds are free to focus more on the gods.
The Empire tolerates any and every religious practice that doesn't threaten the state, break other laws or cause public disturbance, so while there are some major gods whose temples are in almost every city, the pantheon of gods whose existence is aknowledged is essentially infinite. The churches, temple organisations and schools of various major gods, goddesses and ambiguous divine entities and their devoted priests and servants aren't simply there, but play a part in society and politics, as bankers, historians, librarians, curators, doctors and educators. Some run orphanages.
One big, major player in the field is the order of the Moon Goddess. They don't literally worship the moon, the moon is simply the symbol of the Goddess, whose realm is the perfect logic and structure of the universe, which cannot be touched or even properly comprehended by the fallible and imperfect human mind. Their philosophy is that there is no such thing as a question without an answer or a thing without purpose, and anything that appears so is simply beyond human grasp. While there are Moon Priestesses who aren't trans women, they are few and far between, and still less rare than trans women who aren't priestesses.
This is considered an example of how clear and logical the Moon Goddess is - the dysphoria of AMAB people is culturally regarded as them feeling a calling, a call that cannot be mistaken for anything else, a puzzle with one logical answer that they must personally find and embrace, which cannot be disputed by any mortal force, and can only be denied and repressed for so long by the Chosen Subject before they accept it. Becoming a Moon Priestess isn't an "I don't know what to do with my life so I might as well do this" choice in life, it was a choice that was made for you before you were born.
In the book, the protagonist encounters a trans man on his journey and they travel together for a while. After discovering the nature of how Terrel is, the protagonist isn't baffled by the idea that trans men exist at all - mainly he is unfathomably relieved that this small and boyish youth who drinks, gambles, fights, fucks and commits murder like a grown man is actually older than himself and not, like, thirteen - but astonished that Terrel isn't religious, and doesn't consider himself "chosen" by any god. He just is, and as far as he's concerned, the gods have nothing to do with it.
Also it suddenly makes a lot more sense that his name translates to "son of a hyena bitch", something that no woman would name her own child. He named himself, and his mother is a huge bitch.

TOXIC JIZZIE????????? PLEASE SPEAK KING FOR I AM BOUND TO HEAR
aye sire if you ask I am obligated to indulge.
To start off I do think "toxic" is not really the word I'd use, but their relationship certainly isn't ideal either. To get meta for a second I think it's the impact of this being a ship dictated by the CCs (as in, we are married irl so our characters should be too) rather than by the fandom (where ships form from interactions and stuff we actually see in-game) so, in the insane world of "interpretation", weird things happen with Jizzie in-universe where it essentially feels like the characters are together ot of some default obligation rather than as a choice they both actively make.
I'm going to be using the word "performative" a lot during this which I think makes enough sense when you look at how most of Jizzie interactions are very literally purposefully performed through youtube videos and such.
I'm also someone who very much does not have the highest opinion overall of romance as a concept so a lot of what I read is going to be based off of that. I'm a biased human being or whatever.
Essentially, I believe a lot of Jizzie's interactions feel like they're out of some sort of obligation or to fit into predetermined roles, comedic or otherwise, instead of coming off as genuine.
Examples off the top of my head are Lizzie trying to "seduce" Joel in Last Life to secure an ally, their shotgun wedding in esmp1 and the sort of sitcom-esque humour structure they sometimes follow in streams and such (the one I remember most clearly is Lizzie hitting Joel during the Decked Out guests stream, which is treated as a haha wife hitting husband moment) (there was also the time when Joel indirectly implied he was calling his wife a "ball and chain" in the Life: The Game stream, although we're getting very dubiously canon here - I personally see it as applicable but. shrugs)
This isn't to say that there is no genuine connection there, they certainly do care about eachother and, for the most part, aren't actively making eachother worse -- some of their cutest moments, to me, are their panicked "I love you" exchange after they encased the Scottage in lava in Last Life and Joel being the only one who remembered Lizzie's party in Secret Life.
Lizzie and Joel also rarely talk about eachother in an admiring or personal way, Joel specifically usually only mentions his "wife" when disputing accusations of him being in love with any of the various men he's "obsessed" with.
This becomes weirder in series like esmp1, where the first time Lizzie mentions Joel at all is her declaration that she has decided to marry him (not because she is "in love" or anything like that, she simply states that she wants to marry him) so you just kind of have to fill in the gaps between videos with your imagination or accept that the characters are just. Insane. I think comparing the way esmp1 Joel talks about Lizzie vs talks about Jimmy would be an interesting experiment to conduct in regard to this.
To top it off in terms of dubious sourcing for in-character headcanons, I think the performative aspects of Jizzie are most apparent when you look at how Joel often jokes about how Lizzie will get mad at him for flirting with Jimmy and other men, whilst Lizzie has shown time and time again she really could not physically care less. It's always kind of confused me when people depict Lizzie as ready to beat the shit out of Joel when he acts affectionate with other men, when her reactions in the traffic series usually just boil down to this:
TO ME: What Jizzie is, to me, is a pair of platonic best friends who have gotten married because. You're a boy, I'm a girl, that's what we should do. Their marriage isn't hurting them but it also isn't what they think it is.
Joel specifically I've always headcanoned as gay and essentially using Lizzie as a beard but not hiding it very well.
The romance may be purely obligatory and performative, but that doesn't mean they don't love eachother.

Chris Evans' potential boyfriends (allegedly based on blind item gossip!)
September 15th. 2023. Only a few days after Chris Evan's alleged wedding, a blind item appeared on CrazyDaysAndNights dot net.
It is about an A/A-list actor who is sometimes a super hero:
A lot of people in the comment section argued that this is about Jeremy Renner. I wondered why and so I did some research about him. On Datalounge dot com and on the forum called LipstickAlley, they argue that he is a gay man who faked the custody dispute with his "ex". It is alleged that she was his surrogate and both wanted to be in the news to get more fame (Shameful!).
However I do not believe that this blind item is about Jeremy because he isn't a "sometime superhero". But you know who is? Our lovely Chris. He was the "Human Torch" in the Fantasitc Four. 4 years later he was "Steve Rogers aka Captain America" and 3 years after that, he replaced Tim Allen as "Buzz Lightyear". So yeah. he is a "sometime superhero" but these days I'm not so sure about the A-list status anymore...
Anyway, I had that thought on why it could be Chris after one person in the comment section gave the following hints:
As this person points out, EntyLawyer who wrote this blind item above, has Hollywood insider knowledge. As a result Enty knew what we from #TeamPR have already concluded: Based on immigration law, a legal marriage was not possible. It is fake. So despite the fact that the blind item appeared days after Chris' alleged wedding, his (PR) girlfriend is after all just a "girlfriend" and not a wife. So this blind item could still apply to Chris.
Based on what the commenter Eenid in the screenshot above implies... Chris, which this blind item is allegedly about, has a "long-time boyfriend he also pays as an employee"...
Possible Boyfriend #1: Mark Kassen
Picture Source: https://archive.ph/e9EPA In this picture you can see that he looks very friendly, soft, fem and adorable. I bet that if he were the possible boyfriend, he'd treat Chris with care and kindness.
Picture Source: https://archive.ph/lpCTK
In 2017, Chris and Mark have both started the political online platform called "A Starting Point". So is he Chris' employee? In this cute picture of them, you can see that he already has way more chemistry with Mark than with his PR wife from "GO Portugal!"
Picture source: https://archive.ph/7yiGn
However, they have already known each other since 2011 when they both starred in the movie Puncture. It adds up with that the person said above. That "A Starting Point" was not their first "joint endeavour" ... ... ...
Picture Source: https://archive.ph/4cxrn
Chris and Mark don't just hang out when it comes to business related stuff. They also hang out privately. Here you can see them both with Chris' brother Scott who is also gay. This was confirmed by Chris when he outed him publicly:
See link: https://archive.is/rFnVI https://www.koimoi.com/hollywood-news/when-captain-america-chris-evans-outed-his-gay-brother-scott-publicly-when-he-was-19-received-a-lot-of-flak-from-his-friends-who-said-i-cant-believe-you-did-that/ My thoughts: On the pictures you can see that every time Mark is around Chris, he seems very happy. Even if it turns out that they are not a secret couple, I hope they will continue to have a lot of fun together... ... ... Possible Boyfriend #2: Joshua Martin Peck (No, not the guy from Drake & Josh)
Picture Source: https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Joshua_Peck According to the "Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki" he was Chris Evans' assistent in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "Captain America: Civil War", "Avengers: Infinity War", "Avengers: Endgame", "The Iceman", "Snowpiercer" and "knives Out". See link: https://archive.ph/4BYQg Like the blind item from Enty Lawyer mentioned, he could also be the "long-time boyfriend" Chris also pays as an employee. I think that because on the Lipstick Alley Forum, there have been interesting revelations about the relationship Chris and he have:
A person on LSA said that when Chris had an interview in 2019, he said that Josh was basically his roommate and was living in the family home with Chris Evans' mother Lisa...
In the October 2023 GQ interview, Chris said that he loves to smoke weed. It explains why he needs botox these days. It was also the same interview that had several sentences about leaves, autumn, his beloved dog Dodger, while his PR wife was only mentioned twice. That he "had her for a while" (I think at this point his team still wasn't sure how the PR relationship timeline between those two should look like) and that she reads "energies". So based on that interview, his love for weed exceeds that of the love he (allegedly) has for his alleged wife. So that Josh is a professional weed smoker is therefore probably something Chris really likes. As the user above says... Chris' and Josh's situation could be similar to the one Leonardo Dicaprio and Lukas Haas have (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-4864460/Leonardo-DiCaprio-giggles-chased-Lukas-Haas.html)
(BTW: It is public knowledge where he lives but I still didn't feel comfortable to just screenshot it so I removed the name of the town in case you wonder what the pink bars are) A user who is in contact with someone who lives in Chris' Town said that Josh walks Chris' dog Dodger when Chris is away for work in LA and no one ever saw his PR wife from Portugal. There are also other people on X who often claim that neighbours never saw a wedding and that the weather conditions were horrible on that day.
Dodger is Chris' love of his life:
When he was already allegedly dating the PR bride from Portugal, Chris said that Dodger was his long-term partner (No I won't name him as possible bf #3 EW). It demonstrates two things: 1. This PR crap ain't real and 2. That he trusts Josh to take care of Dodger is just heart-warming. I don't think every person is allowed to walk the dawg!
Josh is also not just the personal assistent of Chris when it comes to several of his movies (I wonder now what he is assisting him with...), he also took and probably still takes care of his instagram/social media (Chris has anxiety and therefore doesn't like reading mean comments).
Yes, Chris is very open about his anxiety to the point where he needed a back rub from Scarlet Johanson after a press conference. It is uplifting knowing that Josh shields him from people's opinions online. He is basically Chris' own personal Captain America x3
Source: https://twitter.com/miss_LulaMae/status/1465814040471646216 BONUS BOYFRIEND #3: Sebastian Stan I don't think the blind item refers to him because he isn't employed by Chris but he is still a notable mention. Remember my first post here? One of the info I quoted was from the datalounge thread called: "Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan, did they have a thing?" See link: https://archive.ph/gxXkr
In this thread a user implied that they knew Chris and that he is ashamed of being bi. Some people on datalounge argued that this is the reason why he publicly outed his brother Scott. Because a lot of people assume that if one brother is gay, the other can't be. I encountered this argument too when sharing my arguments regarding Chris' PR relationship with others online. They responded to me that Scott is the gay brother. They really thought that that means that no one else in the family can be gay anymore! Chris you cunning imp! Smart move.
Chris and Sebastian Stan were both marvel stars. Sebastian is the winter soldier... I think... Sorry I actually only like the A-lister gossip. Not the movies. I have barely watched any of them... but I like Guardians of the Galaxy with that gay racoon! Even the general public noticed that he never has great chemistry with his female co-stars:
But when it comes to Sebastian...
"best friends" When it comes to Sebastian and Chris, many people claim they had a thing because of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNHk1PDU1jQ
This youtube video has some interesting comments. I mean the comments which mention the following time stamps in this video:
9:23 5:51 3:37 SUMMARY: What I explained isn't too far off. A Hollywood insider named ShellyT20 said the following stuff she knows from friends that are in contact with A-list celebrities:
Also another gay/bi rumor I found about Chris Evans on LSA during his marvel days:
A lot of people will probably be angry at me for exposing Chris this way but first of all, I only summarize all his gay/bi rumors other people mention. It's not me who wrote all these comments in these gossip forums. Use the search bar of datalounge and LSA to find these specific comments and try to debunk them there yourselves. #DontShootTheMessenger. Also, if it weren't for Hollywood being so homophobic, demanding of bi and gay men to present themselves as stable, heterosexual family men + marriage + children, unless they want to lose their A-list career, I wouldn't have to point all of that stuff out.
Don't let yourself get fooled! How can the industry claim to be pro-lgbt, putting all these fictional lgbt characters in movies, while real life homosexuals are put in their place? And if they refuse, they will be denied A-list movie roles. As buzzfeed journalist Edwin Jusino claimed, Chris and his "wife" are PR. Most likely for Netflix because they debuted their relationship when the second season of her Warrior Nun Show started. Awkward btw but when there are so many gullible people who eat all this crap up without questioning it... how much can I actually blame Hollywood here? Source: https://archive.is/YZlQG
Also message to #TeamPR: Remember who also said for over a decade now that he wants marriage and kids? Toothy Tile. What has happened in regards to that? ZERO. I guess it is the same for Chris. Marvel told him to say this traditional stuff so that the general public thinks he is a regular guy who wants to be monogamous but that's just not how most A-listers act. I recommend watching the movie "Eyes Wide Shut". These parties are for real. Here on my blog, I provided evidence that you, #TeamPR, want to see him married with wife and kids. MAAAYBE your gender expectation, that you have for men, you hating the fact that they are bachelors and like to sleep around... Maybe that is the exact reason why these A-list guys have to go through this crap?
See it for yourselves. This is what some of you say:
(Sorry but that just sounds like sexist men who say they want to see women barefoot in the kitchen)
But then you say: - "Waaah Waaah I don't like this PR. Why does he have to pretend to be married??? waaah waaaah"
Well, and this is also a message to Hollywood and his team. Chris does not look well at all. I don't want to mock his looks but he looks like he aged a decade since this PR started. He looked like death during the ASP video two or three weeks ago. Even Kevin Costner looked better after his divorce! So can we finally stop with this outdated nonsense? Everything above and on my blog in general is alleged based on the screenshots and links provided. I merely comment on what people publicly claim about Chris Evans and his sexuality. You might think this is immoral but so are lavender marriages.

it is one of my deepest beliefs that things always can and will get better.
in the 1980s the UK government, under Margret Thatcher, introduced section 28 for teachers, this said that local government (including schools) cannot talk about homosexuality in a positive manner.
in the early 2000s, the new Labour government repealed section 28, introduced civil partnerships, and the following coalition government legalised same sex marriage.
in the 2020s, the Floridian government, under Ron Desantis, introduced the "don't say gay bill" which banned the mention of LGBT topics in schools, and the UK Government, under Rishi Sunak, introduced a policy where teachers are not allowed to teach about "gender identity" and if any student asks about it, the teacher must say that it is disputed.
things can look bleak right now, i understand that. but in the 40 years after the 80s, things got so much better, think about how much better things can get in the next 40 years.

Nonfiction Thursday: LGBTQIA+ History Month
The LGBTQ+ History Book by DK Publishing
Exploring and explaining the most important ideas and events in LGBTQ+ history and culture, this book showcases the breadth of the LGBTQ+ experience. This diverse, global account explores the most important moments, movements, and phenomena, from the first known lesbian love poetry of Sappho to the Kinseys' modern sexuality studies, and features biographies of key figures from Anne Lister to Allen Ginsberg.
The LGBTQ+ History Book celebrates the victories and untold triumphs of LGBTQ+ people throughout history, such as the Stonewall Riots and first transgender surgeries, as well as commemorating moments of tragedy and persecution, from the Renaissance Italian “Night Police” to the 20th century “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy. The book also includes major cultural cornerstones - the secret language of polari, Black and Latinx ballroom culture, and the many flags of the community - and the history of LGBTQ+ spaces, from 18th-century “molly houses” to modern “gayborhoods.”
The Gay Revolution by Lillian Faderman
The fight for gay and lesbian civil rights - the years of outrageous injustice, the early battles, the heart-breaking defeats, and the victories beyond the dreams of the gay rights pioneers - is the most important civil rights issue of the present day. In “the most comprehensive history to date of America’s gay-rights movement” (The Economist), Lillian Faderman tells this unfinished story through the dramatic accounts of passionate struggles with sweep, depth, and feeling.
The Gay Revolution begins in the 1950s, when gays and lesbians were criminals, psychiatrists saw them as mentally ill, churches saw them as sinners, and society victimized them with hatred. Against this dark backdrop, a few brave people began to fight back, paving the way for the revolutionary changes of the 1960s and beyond. Faderman discusses the protests in the 1960s; the counter reaction of the 1970s and early eighties; the decimated but united community during the AIDS epidemic; and the current hurdles for the right to marriage equality.
Queer: A Graphic History by Meg-John Barker & Jules Scheele
Activist-academic Meg John Barker and cartoonist Julia Scheele illuminate the histories of queer thought and LGBTQ+ action in this groundbreaking non-fiction graphic novel. A kaleidoscope of characters from the diverse worlds of pop-culture, film, activism and academia guide us on a journey through the ideas, people and events that have shaped 'queer theory'.
From identity politics and gender roles to privilege and exclusion, Queer explores how we came to view sex, gender and sexuality in the ways that we do; how these ideas get tangled up with our culture and our understanding of biology, psychology and sexology; and how these views have been disputed and challenged.
Along the way we look at key landmarks which shift our perspective of what's 'normal', such as Alfred Kinsey's view of sexuality as a spectrum between heterosexuality and homosexuality; Judith Butler's view of gendered behavior as a performance; the play Wicked, which reinterprets characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz; or moments in Casino Royale when we're invited to view James Bond with the kind of desiring gaze usually directed at female bodies in mainstream media.
Fire Island by Jack Parlett
Fire Island, a thin strip of beach off the Long Island coast, has long been a vital space in the queer history of America. Both utopian and exclusionary, healing and destructive, the island is a locus of contradictions, all of which coalesce against a stunning ocean backdrop.
Now, poet and scholar Jack Parlett tells the story of this iconic destination - its history, its meaning and its cultural significance - told through the lens of the artists and creators who sought refuge on its shores. Together, figures as divergent as Walt Whitman, Oscar Wilde, James Baldwin, Carson McCullers, Frank O'Hara, Patricia Highsmith and Jeremy O. Harris tell the story of a queer space in constant evolution.
Transporting, impeccably researched and gorgeously written, Fire Island is the definitive book on an iconic American destination and an essential contribution to queer history.

Can't Fuck/Bad In Bed Bracket - 3rd Place Dispute
Light Yagami (Death Note) versus Edward Cullen (Twilight)
[ID: The unfuckable pride flag overlaid with the "no bitches" meme. Over it are pictures of the contestants. Light is a pale Japanese man with brown hair, shown with an exaggerated grimace; and Edward is a white man with brown hair in a huge pompadour who is shown covering his nose with a disgusted face. Over them are sparkles and a heart with a butt, and in between them are peach emojis crossed out with the word "vs" in them. End ID]
Propaganda:
Light Yagami: "Man is too up his own ass for anyone else to be." / "everyone wants to be his bitch but hes gay and obsessed with the second worst guy ever (light himself is the first worst guy) women are THROWING themselves at him but he just doesnt care if he saw a vagina he would kill himself immediately and he hasnt seen a single dick in his life either not even his own"
Edward Cullen: "300 year old virgin has sex once (after marriage!) and is so mortified by it"

Heartstopper: some cheesy romance or something more?
While navigating my way through the Internet on various platforms I’ve seen many opinions and ratings on the netflix tv series and graphic novels heartstopper. Now among the thousands upon thousands of positive responses I’ve seen many people call it cringe or just down right hard to watch. I’m writing this post today to dispute this.
Can I argue that at times the blooming and tentative relationship of the couple can be a bit much from time to time? No not really. But I would urge people not to stigmatise this book or disregard it like you would a Taylor swift song or the colour pink (Not that those should be either but that’s a story for another day). Because for the queer community or at least much of the queer youth that I know it’s a whole lot more than just your average Rom com. All too often we get the “token gay kid” or the “weird lesbians” within movies that creates an unrealistic image of what it means to be queer. It is all too rare that we see queer love just going well. And yet we still don’t get the full sunflowers and rainbows experience alice still managed to deal with some of the heaviest sides of mental illness and teenage pain without it being cripplingly depressing to read. For me at least I think that is exactly what the youth need, among social media that taps into your average teenage angst and exaggerates it and pushes you towards a very nihilistic view of life Positive media such as heartstopper can be a way that bring us back to our reality.
Not only this I think it’s important to recognise this as an achievement of how far society has come. Just think less than 60 years ago being gay was a crime or less than 15 where gay marriage was illegal compared to now where queer representation is more and more being brought to the forefront of mainstream media with Alice leading us on. Waving the flag as some may say . Maybe I’m looking too much into this but to me that seems pretty special.

I don't know, "if something isn't working, put it back how it was when it was working" seems like a pretty good heuristic in general. People dispute the quality of this heuristic because they don't like the things people use it to argue for in the context of human societies, but I think that's more about the fact that when it comes to human societies no one can agree on what "working" means than about any inherent trouble with the heuristic. Like if you think about basically any context where there is a widely agreed upon definition of "working", this is basically what everyone does by default. Like when they do surgery, they sew you back up in as close an approximation of how you were before as they can, they don't move random patches of your skin around because they think this skin might actually do better over here or whatever.
This is especially true, I think, of complicated systems we don't fully understand.
People see the above used to argue that like, it's bad to let gay people get married or whatever, and suddenly start opposing this idea on general grounds. But I don't think the people using the above to argue against gay marriage are really using it in a coherently way anyway. Like the social norms of the 1950s weren't "working" for a whole lot of people anyway, so there's no reason, from my perspective and in terms of this style of argument, why it would be desirable to go back to that.

actually another fucking infuriating james somerton thing--i was wondering why so many young LGBT kids were spreading the fucking idea around that gay marriage was only for assimilationist white rich cis gays and now i know where
this isn't to say there hasn't been SOME controversy with marriage quality or LGBT ppl not being on board. a lot of gay people have said "why does the government need us to prove we love each other on a slip of paper to have basic legal protections? why can't i pick who i put on my insurance or who gets to bury my body without it being a huge fucking disputed deal with my homophobic family? straight people don't need marriage as an institution either frankly and we should abolish it entirely"
but like. thanks james for poisoning the well. the real reason we gunned for marriage equality was because people were fucking dying. people couldn't visit their partners in the hospital or even bury them properly because "they aren't next of kin". they were getting kicked out of houses and apartments their partners were on the lease of because their homophobic families now had control or homophobic landlords wanted them out. we had no promise of medicine, shelter, or even a dignified death. we came together fighting for it so we could at least have a common goal and guarantee that, while ALSO fighting for other equal rights.
fucking jackass. we're going to be correcting people on your homophobic, transphobic, racist garbage for years now because young lgbt kids thought you were an authority figure because most of your actually correct work was STOLEN. and to top it off you have an obvious nazi fetish to the point you tried rewriting history to validate it in MORE THAN ONE VIDEO
