still getting back into drawing. decided to tweak gavialter's design to reflect native brazilian culture more accurately. these are directly based on the pataxó body paint style and significance.

Which guards are good at is3? I have been experimenting with Gavialter and her pull was pretty decent for some maps, but I am not sure how she would fare on 5+ waves
Gavial the Invincible is pretty good for IS3, her S2’s stat heft and cycling lets her consistently go at high Waves enemies, though of course, she needs a healer in higher Waves where she wouldn’t in lower.
Thorns, Mlynar, and Surtr remain instawin buttons on lower Waves, but are ‘merely’ extremely good in higher Waves. They go from 14 out of 10 to just 10 out of 10. Mlynar needs more team support that can handle his off time, though (like Gavial Invincible)
Nearl Radiant Knight and Skadi (w/ investment) are great as heavy helidrops as well as strong duelists. Both their S2 and S3 will see use.
Lappland is legit godlike thanks to her Silence. Makes some latter maps trivial.
Specter (promoted) is always godlike but you double want her on Last Knight runs, she’s great Gopnik insurance. Also really good at handling singular snowbally mobs like Sargon Champions.
Mountain is Mountain, so godlike.
Irene is solid and her talent is useful since there’s a lot of Seaborn enemies. Having a delete button on her S3 is also always useful.
Cutter remains solid. S2 can be clutch on air-heavy levels.
Bibeak with artifacts can super stunlock 64 for life.
Blaze’s Resistance talent makes her a comfy Last Knight Guard.

Here's an extremely hot IS3 take: I think Out of Control is kind of really fucking cool. If Out of Control were not so hard at high difficulties (by high I mean above D10, I think this map is slightly on the hard side but about fine at D10 and below) it would be one of the best IS3 maps (even then, I appreciate the current version of the map very much for what it is. Despite it being notoriously difficult and its emergency even worse, I can very much still see and appreciate that the cool stuff it does well underneath.)
Ooc is a stage that tests a bunch of skills that Arknights as a game generally doesn't test very much and in doing so, rewards many unconventional operators. Unlike the vast majority of stages, it's a stage with an extremely small number of safe tiles, which you can expand to some extent by killing specific enemies. This rewards strong, slot-efficient units and also units that are able to defy the usual "there are only a few safe tiles" restriction (for instance, April is really really good in this stage!) It's also a stage whose lanes are positioned in a way that makes it difficult for most conventional ops to cover both lanes (in particular, conventional sniper marksmen have to face some weird directions to make it work), but rewards more unconventional operators with unconventional ranges like Hexers, Decel Binders, Deadeyes etc.
It's also a stage that shows off extremely well one of the relatively unique to IS mechanics, which is that your life total is a resource that persists throughout a large number of stages, and can be spent strategically as you choose within stages as you choose by selectively leaking problematic enemies. It does this by having a large numbers of relatively easy to deal (yetis, dogs, spiders) with enemies that you generally don't want to leak, and also a small number of extremely threatening, damage spongy enemies (that is, the melee possessed) that if you can't kill, you can just leak. In many cases, even if you can kill, oftentimes focusing on killing possessed melees commits too many resources that could have better been spent on killing the easier to kill mobs. This means that if you can intelligently gauge the resources you do have and how to properly allocate them to deal with the varied enemies in this stage, you'll be much much better off. This is the sort of skill that can really only be tested in an environment with life points that work the way they do in IS, because what you chose to spend your life points on in earlier stages matters and what you chose to spend your life points on in Ooc matters because it will affect what you can do in future stages.
In this vein, one of the coolest categories of units that Ooc rewards is units that allow you to be intelligent about what units leak by selectively becoming 0 block, so you can leak the units you want to leak while blocking the units you want to block. Examples include Liberator Guards, Flagbearers. Another similar thing that works well in Ooc is timing the deployment of low block units so that they block only weak units, reach their block count, and harmlessly leak the threatening possessed melees (helpful tip: if you deploy a 1 block unit on a tile with multiple enemies on it, your 1 block unit will block the enemy closest to the center of the tile it is standing on).
Lastly, I really appreciate how Possessed enemies are a category of enemies for which there's good ways to deal with them other than damage. The Possessed enemies are surprisingly light (2 weight), meaning that units with repeatable shift effects (Mountain S3, Wildmane S2, Gavialter S2) can often just infinitely shift Possessed melees to death. One of the coolest things you can do with Shifters in this map is to use Weedy's Water Cannon (on the tile C) to push the Bonethrower on tile B to tile X, opening up several ranged tiles and putting the Bonethrower in a position that with the right units, can be far easier to kill it at.

i think im finally distancing myself from arknights....
after enjoying it for a year and reaching my goal i set myself in getting gavialter, it just... feels like an obligation. i dont really enjoy the gameplay loop anymore, and i think this boils down to something i realized about mobile games in general.
its like... with small numbers the games are challenging but engaging, but once you build yourself up to a stable point, everything becomes either incredibly tedious or incredibly boring.
its like this with a lot of mobile games. at some point it... all feels the same. and i have to wonder... why am i even playing this anymore? whats the point?

Lotta math below, tl;dr: Pepe is not under powered at all, old horseman is washed?!
Mlynar has 385 atk at max trust and gains +5% per second, which is about 19 atk (technically 19,25)
19,25 times 40 (maximum damage bonus, and less time then his SP cost) is 770
While skill is active the trait multiplier is doubled so it will actually be 1540, this goes down for each kill but that is not super relevant for the point I am gonna make
385+1540=1925 atk
On skill his attacks do 180% of his atk in damage, which is 3465.
Furthermore he gets 12% of his atk in bonus true damage, which is merely 231, which is not nothing but also it is not... much.
So 3465 physical damage and 231 true damage per swing. 3696 total damage per swing, 1,2 second attack interval. So a DPS of 3080, or if we separate them 2887,5 and 192,5 respectively. For 28 seconds.
However his atk increases to 110% while attacking, or 115% if 3 or more enemies are nearby, this means the damage I calculated here is totally off.
115% of 385=442,75
So 442,75+1549=1991,75 atk
180% of that is 3585,15 and the 12% of that is 239,01, these are the DPH of his physical and true damage respectively under ideal circumstances, this will ramp down for each kill and if there are fewer then 3 enemies in range. Rounding them down (since the decimals are smaller then 0,5) we get 3585 and 239
2987,625 physical dps (rounded up to 2988) and 199,175 (rounded down to 199) true dps
So DPH of 3585+239=3824 and DPS of 2988+199=3187 for 28 seconds (actually less because each kill lowers it as said but we are assuming ideal circumstances here)
Pepe has 1360 atk at max trust. At potential zero she also gets +16% atk at all times, which is 217,6, so 1577,6 atk
She gets +240% atk, which does not inclue the +16% so actually 3264 atk bonus.
1577,6+3264=4841,6
She then gets an additional +25% for each swing, up to 4 times. That is +340 atk per swing.
Her attack interval on skill is 2 seconds. 2420,8 dps in physical damage. Before the ramp up, once the ramp up is done she has +1360 additional attack.
6201,6/2=3100,8 dps in total. 6201,6 is the DPH. Lets round these up to full numbers so 6202 and 3101. On her main target.
Fortunately the math is simple when it comes to her side targets, they take a flat 50% of her atk in damage, which in this case means we just cut her outgoing DPH and DPS numbers in half.
3101 and 1550 (rounded down) DPH and DPS.
This skill lasts for 40 seconds and have similar SP cost to Mlynar, 45 to his 42 seconds, however Pepe gets her skill back faster if she scores kills. Also to reach her maximum DPH and DPS it will take her minimum 8 seconds. So she only gets 32 seconds of maximum damage and AoE.
She also gets to stun her main target for 1,5 seconds and all other enemies in range for 0,8 seconds on each attack.
So, why did I compare these two? They are not used the same way at all! Well that is a correct statement hypothetical person I made up.
They are not, but this illustrates a point that has been bothering me.
People saying that Pepe has bad damage or that she needed to have much higher damage "as a limited" (why a limited should be stronger then non limited characters I have no clue).
Pepe has incredibly good damage, Mlynar is still one of the strongest damage dealers in the game (even if he lost his position as THE absolute best recently) yet Pepe has competitive damage with his peak damage. And again, his damage can get worse then this.
This is why I made this comparison to Mlynar, I actually think she is more comparable in role to Gavialter, Executor alter or Hoederer though, so I will probably do some more math about that later, but the narrative of "Pepe has bad damage" seemed to be going around on various places and I wanted to go and confirm that she does in fact not have bad damage. Or even mediocre damage.

Gavial's torture
Tumblr media
Standard disclaimer: I'm not a professional translator, fantl, may have stuff thats wrong. Anyways gavialter module lore tl
Fire was quietly burning in the wooden hut of the durins, a gust of wind blowing through the wind, a couple shadows shaking slightly.
"Come in." The door was forcefully pried open, a flash of green somewhat urgently walked into the firelight, hitting her head against the doorframe.
"Did you bring everything?"
"Y-yeah I got it all..." Gavial rubbed her head.
"Bring it all out."
Gavial used her tail to bring the bag from behind her, carefully opening it on the table, all sorts of weapons laying there.
The person across from the table lifted one.
"Sword."
"The blade is sharp, there are marks of sharpening."
Another sound started, Gavial raised her head a bit, immediately pulling it back in. "Chain saw." "The chain doesn't have any garbage stuck in it, the oil is very new, the handle has even been changed. The transmission works perfectly, everything is very stable."
"Oh. The axe?"
"It's a bit different from the chainsaw. The only thing different is the axeblade has some rust......"
"Don't care about her. When I made it it was rusted."
Another voice piped up.
"...Didn't you say it was the best material? "This is the best material. 'big ugly' doesn't have anything as good as it."
"You two stop for a second, we're not done yet.... Gavial."
"Here..."
"Where's the wand?"
"Wand, wand...." Gavial lowered her head.
"Where's the wand, bring it out." Gavial seeing everyone's look, bit her lip, pulled the wand out of her shoes.
"The wand...broke."
"How did it break?"
"A couple days ago outside when I was fighting people, I just grabbed it...and it broke."
"How is that possible? I clearly strengthened it, just needed to take care of it... Gavial, give me the checklist. Did you properly fill it out?"
"Of course!"
"Last month, on the third, what were you doing? That was the day you were supposed to take care of it, yet there was nothing written. Did you forget?"
"No. That day, that day I was very busy....oh! You know! I was with the forest people's machine fighting! The blueprint was what you gave them!"
"There was something like that, but you still broke the wand, so..."
Gavial took a deep breath: "Initially we said it was 5 days no meat. I'm preapred..."
A short silence passed, a couple people behind the table looked at each other, all of a sudden with a "puchu" they erupted into laughter.
"What is so funny... Tomimi? Zumama? Inam! What are you laughing about?"
Gavial's face was full of doubt.
Inam scratched her head: "Even Gavial can properly take care of weapons, does it have to do with raising the statue..."
"I promised you! You still don't believe me?!"
"I heard from others that you would always complain about how annoying it was taking care of weapons, so we decided to check." Zumama edxdplained.
"We wouldn't let Gavial not eat meat for 5 days.... that is too scary for Gavial." Tomimi quietly said.
Gavial sighed, relaxed: "Scared me to death, I thought I was going to go through torture..."
"I will make you another wand. Remember to take good care of it!"
"I know I kno- oh? How sweet, this smell---"
"Although we understand, we still prepared another punishment.....---a big pot of forest meat!" Inam said, "Gavial, you can only stand there lopoking at us eat it." Gavial's eyes stared with wide eyes: "This is torture! torture I say!"

Okay, so it's officially been a year since I started playing, and I was wondering if I wanted to do something for it...or even if I could do something, but I eventually came up with the idea to go over my squad in order of first acquiring them, all the way to the present
(I swear to Terra, if I get something notable from free pulls before this comes up, I'm gonna explode)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...So uh, I wanted to have Mudrock and Surtr in the same picture, but they were too far apart for that, so screw it, I'm going with two pictures at once here! Anyways, in case you didn't know, I got into this game because of Mudrock and waited until she was rate-up before rerolling, and this is basically what I ended up with. Crazy thing, I actually got her twice in the same 10 roll, so I got to enjoy her with -1 DP cost immediately! And then when I went to pull more in hopes of getting Surtr (who was the shoperator at the time) I immediately got her from a single headhunting ticket! Amazing!! And yeah, that's why I wanted them in the same picture together.
Anyways, you can also see Angelina and Bagpipe there. Angelina was from the Newbie pool, and like Mudrock I also got two of her. But...meh, I didn't really feel like building her up too much. I did e1 her, but honestly, if I got her much later on, she'd probably be sitting in e0 Purgatory. Bagpipe, on the other hand, was the first 6* I got from a Top Operator tag, and that was a heck of a lucksack! I actually got her twice total from recruits, and then another pot from the CC shop. Two more pots and she'll be epic!
so uh, anyone else in those two screenshots...Oh, Utage? I got her that early?? Dang, never realized she was with me for as long as Mudrock XD. Also Myrtle is also e2, but I think pretty much everyone has e2d her, if only for access to e2 supports. Perfumer and Cuora were much later e2s, sometime after Il Siracusano, I think? Oh yeah, I guess Indra is a bit notable in how she's a recruit-exclusive 5*, but that's it.
Tumblr media
Hmm, a bit less things of note here. Lumen was very recently promoted to e2, although I did neglect to get his potentials since I was a bit preoccupied with getting Mudrock to e2. At least his event should rerun real soon. Meteor, Cliffheart, Courier, and Ethan I promoted to e1 since I've seen guides use them pretty often. Gavial I kinda quickly fell in love with after her Alter came out, so that was definitely a waifu e2 there! Saria tho, oh boy. She's so freaking awesome! Definitely one of my best recruit lucksacks!
Now, I think it was around this time where CC#9 started. I had Surtr that I've seen Risk 18 strats for, and I've seen strats that used Horn, so I basically fused those two strats together so I could use easier risks overall.
Tumblr media
...Ah, funny that the three e2s on this image are those three. Anyways, Exusiai was, yet again, another recruit lucksack, and she does so much damage! Well, so long as the enemies don't have too much defense, but there's ways to make up for that. Texas was from the pinboard missions, nothing unusual there. Lappland was from the 5* selector new players get, and I got her because man, having her earlier would've made SN so much less painful...but also, just having her in general is nice. Also, Elysium I got as my guarantee 5* when pulling on a banner that had him, so that was pretty sweet.
Tumblr media
Hoo boy, here we go. Imma be real, when I first saw Sideroca, my mind instantly went "I have to get her" and, well, she's the welfare operator from the W event, so of course I did. Also, you might think it's funny that Gavialter and Blaze are right next to each other. Well, I rolled a bit on the banner in hopes of getting Chalter (Not that hard tho, since the odds weren't exactly in my favor) and I ended up getting Gavialter. As for Blaze...shoperator. Even after rolling Gavialter. XD. I just think she's cute! Also, Click was promoted because the event made me realize how weak my caster game was at the time, so I thought I'd e2 her as a sort of budget option. Wasn't really ready to promote Amiya at the time, so this had to be an acceptable compromise.
(If you're wondering why I didn't mention Amiya before...did I really need to? Everyone has to promote her in order to complete chapter 8. That's just how it is.)
Oh right, around this time was when the first Trials for Navigator event started. I...can't quite recall if I did Ultimate TN-4, but I'm pretty sure I got all the rewards at least, so there's that.
Oh, and there's also CC#10. I...barely remember what I did, and past me didn't exactly do a good job of actually posting the clear screen of risk 18. Man, they really dropped the ball on that. I definitely baited the cannon with Mudrock tho, no way am I gonna forget her pivotal role there!
OKAY, I'M LOOKING OVER MY SCREEN AND THE SCREENSHOTS I TOOK AND I COMPLETELY MISSED BLUE POISON! Ugh, she deserves better than to be skipped over, though to be fair, I was trying to focus on getting all my 6*s screenshotted at least, but anyways, she's e2 as well.
Tumblr media
Anyways, Jaye there is e2, my first male e2 actually, and Ptilopsis I actually got from the 5* selector we got last anniversary (I think I'm gonna go for Warfarin with the next one btw, not like I can lucksack her in headhunting outside of kernal) and she's been very helpful! Astgenne, the welfare from the seemingly mythical Dorothy event, was so cute I couldn't not e2 her! Pinecone I e2'd cuz I was coping about not having Chalter, and Hibiscus Alter I e2'd cuz purple hair is too good! As for Fartooth...I considered building her, heck I even promoted her to e1, but I just have too many other operators that I would rather build.
Tumblr media
Hoo boy, this. This is undoubtedly the start of where my power skyrocketed! Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way, I originally wasn't gonna go for Mlynar, but I decided that I might as well go until a 6* (though my track record tends to go otherwise if I don't get a good result) and I thankfully got him, and oh boy has he been integral in a lot of my hard clears! Nightingale...right, I got her and Fartooth from the standard banner with Saga and Mountain cuz those were both 6*s I had an interest in. Well, unlike Fartooth, I actually built her (though it was long after pulling her) and she's been pretty helpful keeping my team alive through heavy arts damage. Also Proviso I promoted to e2 and it had nothing to do with her base skill and everything to do with how cute she is XD. Whislash I was absolutely dying to get so you bet your bottom dollar I e2'd her almost immediately! Ifrit I got from yellow cert shop, and she's been pretty helpful when I can make good use of her. Chen I just happened to get with a Top Op + Nuker combo cuz why not? Didn't like my other options at the time much. Mostima, unfortunately, was a Top Op recruit that I didn't want cuz I wanted Ceobe, but oh well.
Tumblr media
Anyways, if Mlynar wasn't enough, how about the time I pulled FREAKING SKALTER WHILE BREAKING PITY AFTER SPARK? Like, she would've been my spark if I had lucksacked Nearl Alter, so that's basically the same exact event in my mind. Anyways, aside from her, I didn't get any off-rates in that banner, so I was left with 2 Penance and 4 Texas Alters from that banner. Ceobe, as I mentioned, was a huge want for me, so I of course got her from the yellow cert shop, and then Horn was from the 6* selector at that time, and she's also been super helpful for me since then. Especially for IS#3, dear lord is she good against the first endboss there.
Right, this is around when CC#11 started. Risk 18 was absurdly easy that I didn't even need a guide for that (though my huge spike in power was also a factor.) I did push for higher risk though, and ended up with risk 25.
Tumblr media
Almost getting towards the end here. Mizuki was a spook from the Gnosis banner (I primarily wanted Aurora) and, while he may not be the best 6* I could've got, I still wanna e2 him real soon. Kal'tsit was from yellow cert shop (which was during that absolutely horrific time period of Yostar forgetting Saga exists) and Magallan was just a random Top Op roll. Not building her, too small brain to use her well. Mountain was from the gamma headhunting ticket, and he was the one I wanted the least, but I still wanted him...even if my post at the time didn't look like I did I am an unappreciative jerk but anyways, it turned out to be for the better that I got him over Pozyomka. Lin was an absolute lucksack from free rolls on the banner, and I actually went out of my way to e2 her during the event! Lava Alter I e2'd cuz again, purple hair. Then there's Eyja, who was another yellow cert grab. Do I need to say anything about her? She's been the top Caster in the game since Day 1, with only Goldenglow being a possible threat to that title! (though for top caster in my heart, that title belongs to Ceobe XD)
I think both Trials for Navigator 2 and CC#12 were well after this, but the later operators I got weren't that important for that, so I'll just go over them here. Except...I barely remember what I did for TN#2. I just know that I did the Ultimate trial, so there's that. CC#12 though, my memory's a bit more clear on that. I did some strategizing for a few risks above 18, then changed them a bit to get even higher, all the way up to 26, exceeding CC#11 by a single risk! I honestly feel proud about that!
Tumblr media
And now we have reached the present day. Rosa and Pozy both spooked me during the Yato Alter banner, the latter of which I built up quickly. And oh boy, is she super powerful! Even in the current event, she's been integral in dealing with the boss super quickly in my auto deploy setup! But Rosa sadly will take a backseat while I wait for Typhon, because believe you me, there's no timeline where I don't get her! Yato of course I had to hit the hard pity for, but she's been working very well for me. Weedy was another random top op. She was supposedly good for CC#12, but that didn't really convince me to build her sadly. Saga I have waited TOO FREAKING LONG for her to be in the yellow cert shop. And of course, Goldenglow I got with the 6* selector from the store as of now! Oh, also I got FEater to e1 max cuz she's super cute and I hope to e2 her some day.
Aaaaaand that's it. Man, it took a while to get this done that I actually wrote this in a few sessions cuz my attention span is...not great. But at least I got it done in time!

In today's episode of Eve survived the night and it's everybody's problem,
I GOT THE MEDAL SET
Tumblr media
Satisfaction guaranteed, another one to show my accomplishments at the game all thanks to my friends for not letting me give up when I start whining and complaining.
I even managed to help Lundi through EX-6 CM and EX-7 but I left Kryo to handle EX-8 with her because the trauma of doing it earlier this week still lingers in my memory.
Speaking of memory, while looking for a Gavialter I spot my beautiful Chongyue in the corner.
Pinkie, sing-song: "That's me in the corner."
Me: "Losing my... Hope."
Everybody: "..."
Tumblr media
After shopping out of there I did some pathetic pulls on the Nu:C banner and I'm starting to get confused over how the system works. Is the pity on every banner around 70-80? Does it not........ Follow the previous banner? Does it not stack?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've done 70 pulls so far and I havent had a single SSR in 3 banners.
But I'm 5 tokens away from 3-starring vampire Yakumo, so I'm still the winner at the end of it.
Tumblr media
THERE ARE 8 DAYS LEFT I HAVENT EVEN TOUCHED HONKAI STAR RAIL IN WEEKS WHAT THE HELL IS THIS AND WHY IS THE SECOND LEVEL SO HARD?????
Why do I keep getting cornered off AAAAA-
Okay time to drown in Fontaine.
Tumblr media
Putting on my little coat and off to see Monsieur Neuvillette so I can give him a littol kish on the cheeks. Haven't actually seen anything out of the new event except meeting the Hydro archon and now that the router is broken I really am unable to do anything but read on wattpad and hope my data survives.
ART OF ME AS A SILLY LITTLE FONTAINE MELUSINE SLUG by Leaff my darling friend who used to draw me as an aranara. I'm breaking out of this shell.
I don't... Need the grass people anymore.
Tumblr media
I do actually... Will always love grass people reluctantly. Watering them while scowling.
