Mumtaz Mahal (lit. 'the exalted one of the Palace'), born Arjumand Banu Begum (27 April 1593 – 17 June 1631) was the empress consort of the Mughal Empire from 19 January 1628 to 17 June 1631 as the chief consort of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The Taj Mahal in Agra, often cited as one of the Wonders of the World, was commissioned by her husband to act as her tomb.
Mumtaz Mahal was born Arjumand Banu Begum in Agra to a family of Persian nobility. She was the daughter of Abu'l-Hasan Asaf Khan, a wealthy Persian noble who held high office in the Mughal Empire, and the niece of Empress Nur Jahan, the chief wife of Emperor Jahangir and the power behind the emperor. She was married at the age of 19 on 10 May 1612 or 16 June 1612 to Prince Khurram, later known by his regnal name Shah Jahan, who conferred upon her the title "Mumtaz Mahal". Although betrothed to Shah Jahan since 1607, she ultimately became his second wife in 1612. Mumtaz and her husband had 14 children, including Jahanara Begum (Shah Jahan's favorite daughter), and the Crown prince Dara Shikoh, the heir-apparent, anointed by his father, who temporarily succeeded him until deposed by Mumtaz Mahal's sixth child, Aurangzeb, who ultimately succeeded his father as the sixth Mughal emperor in 1658.
Mumtaz Mahal died in 1631 in Burhanpur, Deccan (present-day Madhya Pradesh), during the birth of her 14th child, a daughter named Gauhar Ara Begum. Shah Jahan had the Taj Mahal built as a tomb for her, which is considered to be a monument of undying love. As with other Mughal royal ladies, no contemporary likenesses of her are accepted, but numerous imagined portraits were created from the 19th century onwards. She is wrongly referred to as "Taj Bibi" which was the corruption of her title Mumtaz and was in reality the title of her mother-in-law, Jagat Gosain.

Levi Jaan
It’s time we bring back the classic Indian dances to life in anime.
Umrao Jaan is an Indian classic, based off of an Urdu novel by Mirza Hadi Ruswa, published in 1899. This story is still never forgotten in India. It’s all about the lives of courtesans and toxic men that make up the base of the story. Starting with a young girl, Amiran who was kidnapped by the criminal Dilawar Khan and taken away to be left in a kotha (or dwelling) in Lucknow, India owned by a tawaif, (entertainer who caters to nobility, a woman) Khanum Jaan. Dilawar was attested in court against her father, which explains why he took revenge.
There, Amiran taking on the name of now Umrao Jaan, grew up in an environment where girls study classical music and dance to perform for clients. She makes friends with Ram Dai, fellow dancer. Living in the luxurious dream of mastering arts and reading, she comes to attract the wealthy and charming Nawab Sultan during her dance performance, who both fall in love. But a chain of events tore the couple apart, including an incident where Nawab Sultan shoots Dilawar Khan in the arm after a huge fight. This caused the couple to have to meet secretly, which led to Nawab Sultan ghosting Umrao Jaan.
She made a pact with Gauhar Mirza, an illegitimate son of a local Nawab to be her client and help her with earnings. She also came across a strange, new client named Faiz Ali, who turned out to be a dacoit, after showering her with stolen goods, which got her in jail. Luckily she was rescued by a local tawaif. Faiz Ali tries to capture her again until she decided to return to Khanum Jaan. However, she also decided to relocate to become a tawaif herself. She holds a performance at a Begum’s (or noble woman) house in Kanpur, until Faiz Ali’s brother Fazl Ali gathers a group of men to rob the house, but run away once they saw Umrao Jaan ready to kick their asses. Her favorite client Gauhar finally returns to the city, and she decides to go back to her dwelling.
Umrao’s peak in her journey is her final moment where her road comes to an end, when she performs in the court of Wajid al Shah until the Siege of Lucknow, forcing her to flee out of the city. She comes to her parent’s house, but they no longer welcome her back and she is shunned from her household. She runs into an old girlfriend, Ram Dai, who turns out to be married to Umrao Jaan’s former lover, but also wads the same Begum that Umrao Jaan was holding her performance. Umrao lived the rest of her life as a tawaif, eventually retiring.
Note: This story is a realistic fiction, not based on a real event. The types of dance in the movies that you may see if you ever come Umrao Jaan on any video search, may not always be deeply associated with the book. Bollywood and other individual films usually exaggerate or add dance items to cater to the Indian audience (who apparently love music and dance out of everything) The performances in these kothas are created from poetry.
Headcanon ideas related to Attack on Titan:
I have to say the music style of the time in India, hella fits into the Attack on Titan vibe.
Umrao Jaan : I picked Levi as the lead character as Umrao Jaan, because our Levi Jaan is a very alluring and charming man with a mixture of sternness and the ability to pick up on skills properly, and his gender roles have no limits. He seems like the type to lead on a plot of anything, doesn’t matter masculine or feminine. I particularly like darker roles for him, where he endures a lot and fights through, losing loved ones in the process.
Khanum Jaan: I can see Hange Zoe taking on as an energetic tawaif, who throws you out into the middle of the Raja’s court just to say, “I’ll see you later. Good luck!” And she sits there puffing her hookah, and nods with approval with a glint of her glasses
Ram Dai: Historia Reiss, because she was a Queen, she can be a Begum in this one
Nawab Sultan: Erwin Smith is perfect for this, because of the Eruri ship. So here’s your Nawab Smith, Levi Jaan.
Dilawar Khan: Kenny Ackerman (he’s a bad guy)
Faiz Ali: Zeke Jaeger
Lil bro Fazl Ali: Eren Jaeger (sorry Eren)
Gauhar Mirza: Jean Kirstein
Local Tawaif: Petra Ral
Wajid al Shah: Yelena
Now let’s focus on the musicians and other dancers
Other court dancers: Mikasa Ackerman, Sasha Braus, Connie, Annie Leonhart, and Ymir
Sitar player: Moblit or Ouro
Sarangi player: Our boi Bertolt plays the best solos as much to make people cry
Tabla player: Reiner
Harmonium player: Armin or Bertolt (Damn this dude can play more than one instrument. And Armin holy shit, he can conduct while slamming the harmonium)
Male Singer (individual singer): Marco Bodt or Reiner (Reiner isn’t just the drummer)
Conductor: Armin Artlet
Noble people: Hitch and Marlo as a couple, Yelena, Pieck Finger and Porco,

Hello! Some people might know this monument as one of The Seven Wonders of the world. It is the "Taj Mahal"
- don't read further if you love the "love story" Of Shah Jahan and Mumtaj
I really admire this monument. It is very beautiful. It is a wonderful monument and pride to our India🇮🇳
But I can't really accept when people say that this is the "symbol of true love" and shit like that.
Tumblr media
BECAUSE!!!
(Warning⚠⚠ don't read further if you believe in the "true love" of the great Shah Jahan and Mumtaj
I WARN YOU)
Okay, as I was saying. If you believed or made to believe "oh! Shah Jahan is the best lover in the world! Oh! How lovely of him to build an entire monument for his beloved wife. Shah Jahan and Mumtaj are the best couple. It's a tragedy that she died" and blah blah blah....
Then, Your life has been a GODDAMNED LIE
I'll tell you why BUT BEFORE THAT these boys should stop saying
"Shah Jahan has built Taj Mahal for his wife. But has any girl did anything for their lover? Boys are always the one that sacrifices every thing for his girl. Oh god! These girls are always cheating on boys. Girls are just gold diggers"
(👆these kind of dialogues are found in very dramatic and cringy love failure indian movies)
OH GOD PLEASE STOP! Y'all should stop this shit.....what I'm about to say might shock you (or maybe not)
And I am going to reveal some dark things about this monument..
The first point - Shah Jahan had ten wives excluding Mumtaj
Quandahari Begum was his first wife. She gave birth to two daughters from Shah Jahan.
She is buried in Qandahari bagh in agra built by her in 1628. She was very close to Shah Jahan after Mumtaz Mahals death even becoming his constant companion during his time in prison in his last years.
Princess Manbhavati Bajji Lal Sahiba was his second wife. She had one daughter.
Arjumand Bano Begum aka Mumtaz Mahal was his third wife. She died while giving birth to their daughter Gauhar Banu Begum and is buried in Taj Mahal
Akbarabadi Mahal also known as Izz un Nissa Begum was fourth wife of Shah Jahan. She gave birth to a son
Fatehpuri Mahal was fifth wife of Shah Jahan.  She built Fatehpuri Mosque. She was a companion in Shah Jahan's old age and prison life.
Sixth wife was Qudisa Begum
Seventh wife was Rajkumari Lilavati baiji Lal Sahiba daughter of Rao Shri Sakath Singh
Eight wife was Sarhinidi Begum
Muti Begum sahiba
Widow of Jamal Khan a Mansabdar of mughal empire
Some article states that he had only 2 wives before Mumtaj. But there is whole list of wives in the internet
- AND, I just found this:
Mughal rulers that is Akbar and his son Jahangir and Jahangir's son being the one we are talking about "Shah Jahan", had Kannij. Which means sex slaves. Every Mughal ruler had a kannij of their own. And so Shah Jahan had them to.
- Jahangir (father of Shah Jahan) had twenty wives. Like father, like son. Right?
- those days kings were marrying hundreds of girls just so they can conquer the empires of their father-in-laws. I guess marrying more than one girl is normal. But it's not in this generation. And it's illegal and a crime
Now what "Mr. Best boyfriends of the world", do you want your girls to get 11 husbands..
I know you girls are really happy right now. And there is more. Those who want to roast your boyfriends please stay. I promise this gets better(and darker). And who hates this already, please just... Leave
The second point - Mumtaj died when she gave birth to her FOURTEENTH CHILD. she died of postpartum haemorrhage which caused considerable blood loss after painful labor of THIRTY HOURS. Who makes their wife suffer like this if they truly loved her
- there is more
The third point - some articles states whether Taj Mahal was built of love or built of guilt. Now let me explain.
Mumtaj was a very cunning, ambitious and and intelligent woman.
The sorting hat would sort her into Slytherin just by seeing her cunning face.
So, ANYWAYS, she started involving herself into the administration and started giving advices and ideas about the administration
So either of this would have happened
Shah Jahan got really jealous of her being very intelligent and might have killed her.
Or Shah Jahan thought that she might throw him out of the throne and she would take over the throne and might have killed her.
Or Shah Jahan didn't like her involving in the administration because she is a woman and might have killed her.
Or Shah Jahan didn't want her to be a superior to him and tell him what to do and might have killed her
These are just my theories. I don't know if they are real. She might have died after she gave birth or someone might have killed her. We don't know that but I did not say that this is not true love or anything.
I just said this because many men and actors are/were talking so low of women's love using Shah Jahan as their "example". And I can't just sit here knowing everything.
Now girls be like:
Boyfriends: HAVE YOU EVER DONE ANYTHING NICE TO ME! SHAH JAHAN HAS BUILT TAJ MAHAL FOR HIS WIFE. HAVE YOU GIRLS EVER DONE ANYTHING TO BOYS.
Girls: yeah! I am planning on doing something like Shah Jahan.
Boyfriends: *happily* and what is that?
Girls: I am going to marry 11 boys and I am going to make one of them my favorite and make them bleed for 30 hrs and build a big monument using the most expensive stones from all over the world and cut off the thumbs of the slaves who worked for me so that they cannot copy "my" design and I am going to steal all the fame for building the monument.
Boyfriends: *jaws dropped*
Girls: isn't it just the sweetest thing to do? Everyone's gonna call our love "the true love"
I just posted this because I can't stand men talking so low about women's love.
Women can love just same as men and they sacrifice as much as men do.
Please don't mention Taj Mahal as a "symbol of love" and Shah Jahan and Mumtaj as the "best couple in the world".
I know Mumtaj is Shah Jahan's "favorite" among all his wives.
There are many articles about the mystery of Taj Mahal and the tragedy of Mumtaj
Please don't let anyone talk bad about women and research many things during this pandemic and share it to the world
I know I am going to receive so much hate for this but I can't be sitting quite with knowing all this and let people talk nasty about women's love.
Stay safe; Stay home
✨Thank you✨

Mughal Women
Ok while I was scrolling through tumblr today on women’s history, one thing struck me odd - there wasn’t a single post regarding the women of one of the richest, most powerful empires in the history of the world. So here’s to you ladies - icons, role models and most of all - badass queens.
1. Isaan Daulat (lit. Good fortune) : Grandmother of Zahiruddin Khan or as he is famous, Babur, the founder of the Mughal dynasty, Isaan Daulat regularly advised her son on statecraft and warfare, and carried out most of his diplomatic missions. According to a source, Isaan Daulat’s husband was once killed in a war against the Shah of Persia. The Shah thereafter proceeded to “gift” Isaan Daulat to one of his generals. However, the same night, Isaan Daulat had her retinue murder him in the courtyard, “while she sipped wine reclining in the moonlight courtyard” as a witness claimed. When the Shah arrived, he questioned her about this action, to which she replied, “Islam gives me a right as a widow to marry by my convenience. You just handed me to him like cattle, and therefore his killing is perfectly justified by Islamic Sharia. You should consider yourself lucky.” The Shah of Persia then sent back Isaan Daulat with the wealth and assets he gained from that war, and declared her and her lineage as his sister and nephews. This later helped to back the Mughals’ legitimacy. Sadly, Isaan Daulat could never enjoy the land her descendants called home.
2. Gulbadan (lit. she with a rose like body) : Gulbadan was Babur’s eldest daughter, and was quite adventurous. She had famously chronicled the lives of her father and her brother Humayun, the second Mughal emperor. She looked after administration while her brother fled from place to place. She had also embarked on a seven-year voyage to Mecca and Medina for The Hajj, encountering the malicious Portuguese (she had to bribe them with a fricking town for guarantee of safe passage), pirates, kings, sufis and many more, and was thus also called Hajji Begum. She held a special place in Akbar’s zenana as his aunt.
3. Hamida Banu : Princess of Sindh, she was married off at the age of 15 to a much older Humayun at the age of 15. She had accompanied Humayun in all his wars and also on his journey to Persia, for asking the Safavid Shahs to help them recapture Hindustan. She was Akbar’s mother.
4. Maham Anagah and Jiji Anagah : Akbar’s wet nurses, they had raised up Akbar while his parents tried to win their empire back. Maham Anagah was Akbar’s chief advisor and head of his zenana, before a failed coup by his son, after which he was killed and later on she was relieved of her post, despite still holding Akbar’s favour. Jiji Anagah’s children extensively married into the Mughal family, and her husband Mirza Aziz Koka was Akbar’s head of finance. Her family, wealth and power grew so much, as the Emperor’s favourites, that they were collectively known as the Atka Khail.
5. Ruqaiyya Begum : Akbar’s first cousin, and also his first wife, Ruqaiyya Begum was Akbar’s chief queen and Padshah Begum of the zenana. Though she remained childless, she reigned supreme in the zenana and commanded her husband’s respect in a society where a woman’s existence was through her children. She was the main force behind Noor Jahan and Jahangir’s wedding, and was also the person who raised Shah Jahan.
6. Salima Sultana Begum : Wife of Akbar’s general Bairam Khan, she was later married to Akbar after Bairam Khan’s assassination. Her son Abdur Rahim was later made Khan-i-Khanan or Commander of the Mughal Army. She was the one who had brought up Jahangir, and thus he was also called Salim. An erudite scholar, she managed Akbar’s library along with her own private collection, commissioning new works and translations of others. She later protected Jahangir from Akbar’s wrath after Jahangir had him poisoned in a bid for the throne.
7. Harkha Bai : Bollywood knows her as Jodhaa, while history knows her as Maryam-uz-Zamani, Harkha Bai was the Rajput Princess of Amer and the daughter of Raja Bharmal. She was married to Akbar as part of a political alliance, and later became Jahangir’s mother. She was the richest woman of her time, her wealth being more than Akbar’s, and she also had one of the most valuable lands (jagirs). There are 2 famous anecdotes on her -
Once, an English merchant had bought her indigo farms at Bayana, Rajasthan. When she got to know of this, she practically destroyed that merchant, bought back that farm, and later had it burnt.
Another time, the Portuguese had captured and set fire to her ship the Rahimi, one of the largest and finest ships in that time, in a last bid to maintain their hold in India and the Arabian Sea against the increasingly powerful English. In retaliation, Jodhaa had all of their ships burnt, snatched their powers and wealth, and basically made paupers out of them. She died as the richest woman in Mughal history, before Noor Jahan.
8. Anarkali : A courtesan, with whom Jahangir (then Prince Salim) fell madly in love, many historians now consider the very real possibility that she never existed and was instead “invented” by the Mughal family as someone to blame for the tension between Akbar and Jahangir. According to the folklore, Akbar didn’t approve of Salim and Anarkali’s relation, and after she and Salim refused to end things, he had her entombed alive in a wall.
9. Maan Bai : Harkha Bai’s niece, she was Jahangir’s first wife. She later committed suicide by an overdose of opium when Jahangir had her son Khusrau blinded and imprisoned in a bitter war of succession. Her brother Man Singh was one of the Nine Gems (navaratna) of Akbar’s court, and had defeated Rana Pratap in the famous Battle of Haldighati.
10. Jagat Gosini : Princess of Jodhpur, she was the Padshah Begum of Jahangir’s zenana before Noor Jahan, and also the mother of Shah Jahan. She was the biggest obstruction in Noor Jahan’s historic rise to power. She was not on good terms with then Dowager Empress Ruqaiyya Begum (see above) and hence, Ruqaiyya Begum demanded that Shah Jahan be handed over to her so that she could raise him up, and also helped Noor Jahan against her. A local folklore also suggests that she had been the one behind the miscarriage of Noor Jahan after she had come into the zenana. She faded after Noor Jahan’s rise, but still held respect and power.
11. Noor Jahan (lit. Light of the World): The most famous and powerful woman in the history of the Mughals, Noor Jahan was born as Mehr-un-Nisa (lit. Sun amongst Women) to Persian immigrant parents. Brought up in Agra alongside Akbar’s court, Noor Jahan was an intelligent woman full of talent and potential. She was married off at 19 to Sher Afghan, a commander in Akbar’s army. The marriage was a failure, and moreover Noor Jahan suffered through 8 miscarriages with him, before the birth of her daughter, Ladli (lit. Darling or Beloved). After her husband was murdered in a coup, Ruqaiyya brought her to the Imperial Palace as part of her retinue, and later helped her and Jahangir get married, with she being Jahangir’s twentieth and final wife. Her rise to power was quick, owing to her own ambition and intellect, and some help from her father Itimad-ad-Daulah (Royal Treasurer of the Mughals), brother Asaf Khan (a prominent minister in Jahangir’s court) and Ruqaiyya Begum. Her seal as the Padshah Begum became second only to that of Jahangir, and later even surpassed his own. She brought great innovations to fashion, cosmetics, administration, architecture and gardening, city planning, and many more. She was the one who had arranged the marriage between her niece Arjumand Banu and Shah Jahan. Her marriage with Jahangir was a success – both of them were tempestuous and cared and loved each other deeply. Later, as Jahangir’s health started failing due to asthma and alcoholism, she took over the reigns and took the Mughal empire to great heights. The first British ambassador, Sir Thomas Roe, arrived in her time. However, she gave the British no rights or privileges till the Rahimi incident, and extracted a great many gifts from him, including a carriage made entirely of silver. She had designed her parents’ tomb near the Yamuna river in Agra (it was later copied by Shah Jahan), and she also designed Jahangir’s tomb in Lahore (modern day Punjab, Pakistan). She had tried to get Shah Jahan to marry her own daughter, but he refused and so she completely withdrew her support from making him the emperor, and instead opposed him. Shah Jahan thus had to flee to Burhanpur, with his eldest children Dara Shukoh, Jahanara, Aurangzeb and Roshanara in Noor Jahan’s custody. Later, he waged war against Noor Jahan with help from her brother Asaf Khan. Noor Jahan was ultimately defeated in Kashmir. She was deprived of her wealth, status and power and exiled to Lahore with her daughter and granddaughter. Her influence still remained, with Shah Jahan keeping her legacy alive by copying the Taj Mahal from the tomb she designed for her parents.
12. Mumtaz Mahal : Born as Arjumand Banu, she was Noor Jahan’s niece and Shah Jahan’s most beloved. She died in childbirth while giving birth to her fourteenth child – a girl called Gauhar.
13. Jahanara : Eldest daughter of Shah Jahan, she was the one who headed the empire after Shah Jahan was left heartbroken following Mumtaz’s death, and became active in the construction of the Taj Mahal. Noor Jahan is often described as being fond of her, taking care of her education personally. She was known as Padshah Mallika, and her flower-shaped seal was the most powerful. She was an accomplished dancer, poet and a patron of the arts. She conducted the most expensive wedding ever, between her brother Dara Shukoh and Nadira Banu Begum, valued at 2 lakh rupees then, approximately 2 billion USD in today’s time.  She supported Dara Shukoh in his bid to become emperor. Later, she was imprisoned by Aurangzeb after he imprisoned Shah Jahan and killed all his remaining brothers.
14. Roshanara : Shah Jahan’s younger daughter, she was also an accomplished poet, but always at loggerheads with Jahanara. She later supported Aurangzeb as emperor.
15. Dilras Banu Begum : Aurangzeb’s first wife and Padshah Begum of his zenana, Dilras Banu belonged to the Safavid dynasty of Persia. She was mother of all of Aurangzeb’s children. However, she died an year before Aurangzeb’s succession. The Bibi ka Maqbara (Tomb of the Lady) in Aurangabad, which bears a striking resemblance to the Taj Mahal, was constructed by Aurangzeb in her honour.
16. Zeenat-un-Nisa : Aurangzeb’s eldest daughter, she was the Padshah Mallika after her mother’s death. She survived Aurangzeb by a great many years, and was respected by his successors as a remnant of a magnificent past. She was known for her charity, and was buried in the Zeenat-ul-Masjid built by her in Dlehi.
17. Zeb-un-Nisa : Aurangzeb’s favourite daughter, Zeb-un-Nisa was the most accomplished poet in Mughal history, with her works still surviving and enjoyed. She was an atheist, but later converted to Sufism. She led a secret society, and lead a rebellion against the oppressive and harsh rule of her father. She was subsequently imprisoned by Aurangzeb, where she died. She was buried in the Tees Hazari Bagh (Garden of 30,000 Trees) near the Kashmiri Darwaza (Kashmir Gate) in North Delhi. Her tomb was later shifted at Akbar’s Mausoleum in Sikandra, Agra when Delhi was expanded following Independence.
Well people, this has been an informative post. You’re welcome.

Mir Baber Ali Anees
Mir Baber Ali Anees   was a renowned Urdu poet. He was born in 1803 in Faizabad, Oudh now in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and died in 1874 in Lucknow, North-Western Provinces.
Life
Mir Babar Ali, 'Anis' was born in 1802 CE at Faizabad.[1] He belonged to an family of famous poets. His grandfather, Mir Hasan, composed the monumental Masnavi Sehrul Bayan, which has immortalized his name, his father, Mir Mustahsan Khaleeq was also a poet. He grew up to be known as Homer, Virgil and Valmiki, of Urdu poetry. Mir anis surpassed all his predecessors and contemporaries, and is still unrivalled in the realm of elegy (marsia).[1]Mir Anis was invited to Lucknow where he reached the zenith of his reputation. Mir Anis did not like to move out of Lucknow apprehending that his art would not he appreciated elsewhere. Yet, after the annexation of Oudh by the British, he was persuaded to visit Azimabad (Patna), Dulhipur (Varanasi), Hyderabad and Allahabad.[2]
In 1870 Nawab Tahwar Jung invited Anis to Hyderabad where he declined to be presented at the court of Mir Mahboob Ali Khan,[1][3][4] the then Nizam of Hyderabad State, the Nizam himself went to the Majlis where the poet was to recite. While returning from Hyderabad, he sojourned at Allahabad in 1871 and recited his marsia in the Imambara of late Lala Beni Prasad Srivastava, Vakil, who was a devotee of Imam Husain He died in 1874 CE and is buried at his own residence in Lucknow.[1]
Work and contribution
Mir Anis composed salāms, elegies, nauhas, quatrains. While the length of elegy initially had no more than forty or fifty stanzas, it now was beyond one hundred fifty or even longer than two hundred stanzas or bunds, as each unit of marsia in musaddas format is known. According to Muhammad Hussain Azad "The late Mīr Sahib must certainly have composed at least ten thousand elegies, and salāms beyond count. He composed as easily and casually as he spoke.".[5][6]Shamsur Rahman Faruqi in How to read Iqbal? on comparing Iqbal with Nazeer Akbarabadi says that "Iqbal was placed better because he had, among others, Bedil (1644–1720) in Persian and Mir Anis (1802–1874) in Urdu." He further asserts that, "The mention of Mir Anis may surprise some of us until we realize it that Mir Anis’s marsiyas are the best premodern model in Urdu of narrative-historical, narrative-lyrical, and oral-dramatic poetry, and Iqbal’s poetry extends and exploits the possibilities created by Anis."[7]
Legacy
The Majlis of 25 Rajab, is historically important Mmjlis of marsiya in Lucknow, in this majlis Mir Anis used to recite Marsiya. After Mir Anis, well known marsiya writers of Mir Anis's family as Dulaha Sahab Uruj, Mustafa Meerza urf Piyare Sahab Rasheed, Ali Nawab Qadeem and Syed Sajjad Hussain Shadeed inherited the legacy of reciting marsiya. Nowadays[when?] Dr. Syed Ali Imam Zaidi Gauhar Lakhnavi great grand son of Mir Baber Ali Anees recites self composed marsiya in this majlis at Imam Bara Nazim saheb, Lucknow.[citation needed]The famous marsia writers who inherited the tradition of Mir Anis among his successive generations are Mir Nawab Ali Munis, Dulaha Sahab Uruj, Mustafa Meerza urf Piyare Sahab Rasheed, Syed Muhammad Mirza Uns, Ali Nawab Qadeem, Syed Sajjad Hussain Shadeed and Dr.Syed Ali Imam Zaidi Gauhar lakhnavi great grand son of Mir Baber Ali Anees.[citation needed].[2]

UMRAO JAAN
In 1840, a girl named Amiran  is kidnapped from her home in Faizabad by Dilawar Khan  who had been sent to jail based upon the evidence presented by Amiran's father. To take his revenge, he kidnaps Amiran and sells her to a brothel in Lucknow run by Khannum Jaan . Bua Hussaini and Maulvi Sahib (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) adopt Amiran and treat her as their own daughter. In the company of Khurshid , and one of the courtesan's sons, Gauhar Mirza, Amiran learns the art of being a courtesan, or tawaif.
The girl turns into an elegant, poetic beauty by the name of Umrao Jaan . Umrao's beauty and poetry is enough to catch the eye of Nawab Sultan . The two begin a passionate romance but, when his father hears of their relationship, he disowns Nawab Sultan from his life, wealth and property. The penniless Nawab goes to stay in the house of his uncle, who is a judge in Ghari, to sort himself out; Umrao is left desolate without him and prays every day for his return.
In the Nawab's absence, Umrao catches the eye of Faiz Ali . Though she rejects his romantic advances, he determinedly pursues her and eventually asks her to accompany him to his home in Daulatabad. Umrao accepts, but only after she learns that they will be travelling through Ghari. Along the way, the whole party is arrested after a confrontation between Faiz Ali's men and a group of state soldiers. Faiz Ali is revealed to be a dacoit whom the soldiers have pursued for years. Nawab Sultan hears that Umrao and Faiz Ali are in Ghari and goes to meet Faiz Ali in prison. Faiz Ali, who then realises that Umrao only accompanied him so that she could meet Nawab, manipulates the information concerning his time with Umrao and implies to the Nawab that they had a sexual relationship. The Nawab confronts Umrao and, feeling that she betrayed him, shuns her and sends her back to Lucknow. Heartbroken, Umrao returns to her old life, but fate has other plans for her.
In a drunken state, her childhood friend Gauhar Mirza , who has always been in love with her, becomes frustrated at her for rejecting his advances and rapes her. Soon after, the British attack the city and she is forced to leave Lucknow. She and the refugees separate after she decides to go to Faizabad, her childhood home. There, she learns that her father is long dead. She meets her mother and brother, but they refuse to accept her because of her profession. Umrao, rejected by her family and her lover, leaves to return to Lucknow. Then, fate plays another joke on her: On her way out of the city, she encounters Dilawar Khan, the man who kidnapped her and sold her to the brothel when she was a child. Poor, wretched, homeless and injured, the man begs her for money, not recognising who she is; she gives him her gold bangles and prays to God for his forgiveness. Ostracized by all and having forgiven those who destroyed her life, Umrao lives out the rest of her days in Lucknow with her poetry and ill fate.

International Women Day: Lest we forget the Pakistani Women poets
International Women Day: Lest we forget the Pakistani Women poets
… Look carefully at this impression  Above the long thighs  Above the protruding breasts  Above the raveled womb  Aqleema has a head too  (Fehmida Riaz)
The struggle for women empowerment has gone through several trials and tribulations, recently gaining an impetus due to rise of social media and thus reverberating across common conversations. In Pakistan, such a struggle dates back to the very early years led by women poets who wrote and vocally expressed their views on several occasions and platforms. Many times, their voices attracted skeptic response from male dominated literary circles and religious orthodoxy. However, that did not deter them purse their noble cause. It owes to their persistent struggle, often inviting threats due to being radical and anti-conventional in form portraying pornography- that the women oppression and empowerment transformed into a reality from a myth.
Fehmida Riaz: “A compulsive political animal who unapologetically lived her ideology” was born in what is now the Indian city of Meerut, on 26 July 1946. She was raised in the Pakistani city of Hyderabad where her father was posted around the time of the partition of India in 1947. But her literature would later cross the divide between the two countries.
In 1967, her first collection was published. Paththar Ki Zaban (Tongue of Stone) displayed early traces of a feminist consciousness. Over her second collection, Badan Dareeda (Torn Flesh), conservative literary critics accused her of writing pornography.
The intellectual trajectory of Riaz was informed by the critical, anti-colonial legacy of the Progressive Writers Movement .Her political consciousness began with a students' movement that opposed a ban on student unions imposed by the first military regime of Ayub Khan in the 1960s. she married a Sindhi Marxist who had been associated with the NAP movement and  started a political magazine called Awaz, which lasted until the PPP government was toppled. The couple were charged with sedition and treason and lived in self-imposed exile in Delhi for almost seven years until democracy returned to Pakistan.
The mastery of English, Hindi, Sindhi, Persian and some Arabic enabled her to also translate both classical Sufi and Eastern European literature into Urdu. Riaz herself was diagnosed with auto-immune syndrome last year, and since then had been living with her daughter, a doctor, in Lahore.
She received the President’s Pride of Performance award and was also recently honored by the Pakistan Academy of Letters. Her poems such as Tum bilkul ham jesay niklay and Aman ki asha would be revered forever. The book, titled Qila e Faramoshi, published in 2017, is her last work of prose. Between 2009 and 2012, she served as the chief editor of the Urdu Dictionary Board. Her last book of poetry is Tum Kabir.
This corpse belongs to a being  Who said whatever she wanted  Was never repentant, lifelong.
Do not let the authorities own my corpse.
Aqleema  Who is the sister of Cain and Abel  Their sister  But different
Different between the middle of her thighs  And in the swell of her breasts…
… Look carefully at this impression  Above the long thighs  Above the protruding breasts  Above the raveled womb  Aqleema has a head too  Sometimes Allah too should speak with Aqleema  And ask something!
Madiha Gohar: Actor, playwright, creative director Madiha Gohar was born in 1956 in Karachi and passed away on 25 April 2018 in Lahore. She was a rights activist, advocate of women empowerment and an ambassador of peace for Pakistan and India. Her vocal articulation attracted fame and admiration from across the borders.
She did masters from University of London and on return founded Ajoka Theatre in 1984. Ajoka theatre featured plays based on social themes, harmony, women rights, family, justice and humanitarianism. Due to her vision, the Theatre dared to feature subjects, skeptical in form and critical in content. The trajectory of the oral tradition of Ajoka goes beyond the conventionality i.e. highlighting  issues through plays that others would rather avoid talking about. In addition, Madiha has been part of over three dozen plays nationally and internationally in US, UK, India, Egypt and Iran. She was awarded Tamgh-e-Imtiaz in 2003 and latter, Fatima Jinnah Award in 2014. She had the honor to be the first Pakistani to receive Prince Clause Award by Netherlands in 2006 as an acknowledgment for her commitment to women rights, social cause and for withstanding pressure from political and religious establishment. She has also received significant recognition and respects from across South Asia and US for her collective efforts to empower women and “changing firmly entrenched mindsets.”
One of her most famous plays, Burqavaganza, gained significant critical limelight for satirical use of burqa as a symbol for “social and political cover-ups.”  This raised eye brows with many and was subsequently banned by the government in 2010. However, it continued to be shown internationally after English translation.
After battling cancer for 3 years, she died at age 62. She was honored by Pakistan National Council of Arts about a week later in which other renowned artists and poets participated including Kishwar Naheed, husband Shahid Nadeem and PNCA director, Jamal Shah. Jamal recalled  Madeha having worked “intensely” for human rights’ cause and using theatre for social change while her husband Nadeem current executive director of Ajoka,  paid her tribute saying his writing themes were deeply influenced by his late wife’s works: “Madiha Gohar not just swim against the tide, she turned the tide.” As director Kamlesh Kumar said: “Madeeha Ji's name will be etched in golden letters…[her] two seminal productions Dara Shikoh and Bulla will never be forgotten.” Huma Qureshi, chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women, said “Every theater play by Ajoka touched the issues of gender discrimination and violence against women and played a major role in changing the social mindsets.”

10 Instances That Proved Indian Television Is One Step Ahead Of Bollywood
New Post has been published on https://buzzertop.com/10-instances-proved-indian-television-one-step-ahead-bollywood/
10 Instances That Proved Indian Television Is One Step Ahead Of Bollywood
Indian television presentations are famous for two main reasons. First, to show the most hidden things in a stupid way, secondly, for the non-ending seasons, the fact is that in the top-top strange cases we saw on Indian television, only by our TV actors and actresses can be done.
When Indian cinema tried to add some major to its production, they started with VFX. But Indian television daily soaps can not do this because then TRP is used? Therefore, they come with more drama and more ‘stupidity’
Here I am with the situation when Indian television has taken one step further. Of those ingredients, they used to add their daily soap to spices, some of them were useful, while some were taller.
Come on, take a look at such examples.
1. The love story of a 9-year-old boy with an 18-year-old girl.
Tejaswi Prakash starrer Pehredaar Piya Ki Negative noticeable solution was obtained in the form of the plot of the show, with an 18-year-old young woman managing a strange romantic story of a 9-year-old girl. Sony Entertainment Television captured this show when the audience filed a petition against the show to ban it
2. AIB Knockout
As a Bollywood, Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar starring All India Bakchod (AIB), a roasted comedy show was organized in Mumbai, which was in the form of a roastmaster. An FIR was lodged against 14 people, including film producer Karan Johar and actor Arjun Kapoor and Ranvir Singh.
Although many people went against it, many came out in support of freedom of speech. According to sources, the makers of Qtiapa, Viral Fever, in a video on YouTube, broadcast their feelings on freedom to see the online majority government government, freedom of expression and various materials on the web.
3. Intimacy on reality shows.
In addition to logic and fights, Big Boss is getting bolder with every season. And this is not just a season, but most of these competitors have reported on the camera. It can be Ashmit Patel and Veena Malik or Gauhar Khan and Kushal Tandon. Whether to accept it or not, I think there is a reason why the audience should not always wait for the Big Boss to appear in front of them, this is notified to the people..
4. Different avatars of television ‘Bahus’.
Now the time has changed. Indian television actress who addressed the orthodox Indian daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law, is not less than any silver screen actress in the title of summer and beauty. They are bold, open and hot, if you do not believe me, take a look at your social media profile, and you will know how they completely kill the television beauties by their bikini incarnations.
5. No humans, it’s superhumans.
this is not a big thing for the Indian TV show that they can cross the small line in the right way, they can turn women into a fly or Nagain because there is everything for the TRP!
6. Indian television shows shot abroad.
By implementing Karan Johar’s formula, it is revealed that we are extremely superficial, or have a lot of true latte, as well as additional budgets with entertainment, took extra budget with their artists and to shoot some important scenes. Flying for foreign nations
7. Specific romantic songs.
After creating the title track for the show, now TV daily soap has started making special verses for each episode.
8. Bollywood promotion on television sets.
I think it is right to say that the barrier between daily soap and Bollywood films has disappeared. Now every other day, various superstars join the crew of some famous TV shows to promote their films.
9. According to Indian Television, every other human is a criminal.
Though the provision is spreading awareness among people like people, on the other hand, even now a child doubts his father.
10. They completely lack sane storylines now.
First of all, he allowed a gorilla to fall in love with the main ladder of a daily soap, then he became a woman pregnant for a year and that too with a small collision … and I did not start on the extreme scenario Done Indian television show has also proved wrong in science
