OK, EXPLAINING DABIS SCARRING because @good-lord-not-books asked
*note these are just my hcs and some medical research
I'm putting this under a cut because it's long as hell, and I apologize in advance for any typos or if it's confusing. I have no problem explaining further♡
His scars are hypertrophic. which 1) explains the discoloration. It's what happens when the smaller blood vessels become partially or fully obstructed with scar tissue. They typcially start off pinkish or light red. (like when he woke up from his coma.)
Typically the treatment for this is laser removal. But if you don't have access the color may naturally shift with age/as it natueally heals. But with continuous damage to the areas.. the scar will get darker as the veins and tissue is further injured (the deeper into the skin and possible muscle it damages)
most hyrpertophic scarring can take a year + to heal. but obviously Dabi just keeps making his worse. The scars themselves are cause by the body over producing collagen for wound healing and not actually being able to break all of it down.
Which leaves collagen fibers in the skin to harden and thicken. Hardened skin doesn't allow much give, lessening the skins elasticity over all. Which can be shown in the way his unscarred skin pulls along the edges where the dermal rings line said scars. (my thoughts on his staples acrually being dermal rings will be at the end)
That's not even going into the nerve damage systemically for him considering hes covered in that kind of scar. So when he says he can't feel a thing it's literal as the nerve endings are shot to shit. And that is only going into skin deep level.
Interal organ nerve damage is a whole other mess due to the scaringbeing from burns. As severe enough burns cause systemic damage. (will also go into atfer the scarring part)
His skin looks TIGHT on him. If he did have and semblance of sensation in his nerves it might feel like hella tight/dry skin. Also I think hypertrophic scars are an inflammation response to the body healing.
His body is literally misshapen from it. (and yes we love him the way he is) You can see in panels where the skin is probably softer where there's lack of muscle definition but can see where it's tighter or pulling over his arms/ shoulders/ribcage because the skins elasticity is non-existent. The instances where it's sifter looking is probably due to his body trying to retain as much body fat it can to keep healthy (or as healthy as it's going to get in his state.)
As far as it going right up to his lower lids and having zero tear ducts. that man has chronic dry eye like it's nobodies business. so itchy and possibly bleeding eyes isn't a shock. he probably has several counts of grand larceny in artificial tears alone.
Ok so as for his scaring being from burns, burns affect the whole body and how it works depending on the severity.
It can effect muscle tissue/muscle mass, bone structure and interior organs.
Given he seems to be perpetually giving himself 3rd degree + burns .. his respiratory system and cardiovascular system are probably shot to shit. Just from smoke inhalation and perpetual injury. (hypertrophic scars fill the veins with scar tissue remember) Assuming how deep the burn and scar tissue goes.
But we haven't seen him with much breathing issues so I'm assuming it's whatever. He has mentioned motion sickness and we've even seen him turning down food. So I can at least go into it's affects on his GI tract.
In the GI tract, burns can result in increased gastric secretions, reduced intestinal motility, decreased nutrient absorption, increased GI mucosal permeability, bacterial translocation and increased intra-abdominal pressure. If it's bad enough he may have ulcers or gi hemorrhaging. Severe burns also cause liver and intestinal damage.
The fact that he's been alive this long is wild if he's been homeless this whole time and just committing small crimes to not die. One thing that irritates me is when people think he would be incredibly unhygienic due to the scars and such.
Like do you understand how CLEAN you have to keep burn injuries to keep them from getting infected?? Even if it's layered over already damaged and scarred skin. He might smell like burnt flesh but I doubt he's letting wounds fester.
Yes he could probably just cauterize himself but that's still just burning burn wounds. Especially with 0% health insurance. I always assumed he kept breaking into the Todoroki family home when he knew no one would be there to do basic things to make sure he didn't die on the street over the years.
Quick add on to my thoughts on his staples just being dermal rings to homd his skin together/as a form of human Kinstugi.
They (the rings) are pretty rounded in the manga, surgical staples aren't nearly that large either so I always assumed human Kinstugi regardless of metal color (between manga gold or anime silver) and it was both decorative and necessary for his skin.
I just assumed wherever the rings weren't, it was just spots he couldn't reach.
it's also shown in the manga that he's adjusting/adding more along his scars.
Tumblr media
als, in case anyone is unfamiliar with the term Kintsugi, it's this
Kintsugi (Japanese: 金継ぎ, lit. 'golden joinery'), also known as kintsukuroi (金繕い, "golden repair"), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The method is similar to the maki-e technique. Its the Japanese philosophy that the value of an object is not in its beauty, but in its imperfections, and that these imperfections are something to celebrate, not hide.
which I think suits his character very well when his piercings and dermal rings are gold looking in some of the colored manga art.
ok, I'll shut up now, ♡

The Role of Endoscopic in Gastrointestinal Health
Tumblr media
In recent years, Endoscopic Spine Surgery has emerged as a revolutionary technique in the field of medicine particularly in gastrointestinal health. This minimally invasive approach allows doctors to diagnose and treat various conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract with reduced recovery times and lower risks compared to traditional surgical methods. As medical technology continues to advance understanding the role of endoscopic surgery is essential for both patients and healthcare professionals.
What is Endoscopic Surgery?
Endoscopic surgery involves the use of an endoscope a flexible tube with a camera and light source at its end. This instrument allows surgeons to visualize internal organs without making large incisions.
Instead of open surgery where significant cuts are made endoscopic procedures require only small punctures which results in less pain minimal scarring and faster recovery.
Applications in Gastrointestinal Health
Endoscopic surgery is primarily used to diagnose and treat conditions in the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum. Here are some of the most common applications:
1. Diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Disorders
Endoscopic is a valuable diagnostic tool. It can help identify various gastrointestinal issues such as ulcers, tumours and inflammatory diseases. Procedures like upper endoscopic and colonoscopy allow doctors to visually examine the digestive tract and take biopsies if necessary.
2. Treatment of Gastrointestinal Conditions
In addition to diagnosis endoscopic surgery can be used to treat several gastrointestinal conditions. For instance, endoscopic mucosal resection allows for the removal of early-stage cancers or polyps in the gastrointestinal tract. Similarly, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) can treat bile duct obstructions or gallstones.
3. Management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Patients suffering from GERD may benefit from endoscopic techniques that strengthen the lower esophageal sphincter reducing acid reflux symptoms. This procedure is often less invasive than traditional fundoplication surgery.
4. Weight Loss Procedures
Endoscopic methods have also been utilized for weight loss. Gastric balloon procedures involve placing a balloon in the stomach to promote satiety aiding in weight management without the need for extensive surgery.
5. Hemostasis
In cases of gastrointestinal bleeding endoscopic surgery can be a lifesaving intervention. Techniques such as clipping or cauterizing the bleeding site can effectively stop the bleeding and stabilize the patient.
Advantages of Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Surgery
Minimally invasive endoscopic surgery offers numerous benefits over traditional surgical approaches including:
1. Reduced Recovery Time
Patients often experience shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times. Many can resume normal activities within a few days instead of weeks as required after open surgery.
2. Less Pain and Scarring Smaller incisions lead to reduced postoperative pain and minimal scarring enhancing overall patient satisfaction.
3. Lower Risk of Complications Endoscopic procedures are associated with fewer complications such as infections or blood loss making them safer options for patients.
The Role of Endoscopic Spine Surgery
Endoscopic Spine Surgery is a prime example of how minimally invasive approaches are transforming care in other medical fields. This technique is utilized to treat spinal conditions such as herniated discs and spinal stenosis allowing for direct visualization of the spine and targeted treatment without large incisions. Just like in gastrointestinal applications endoscopic spine surgery offers several advantages:
Minimally Invasive: Smaller incisions lead to less muscle damage and quicker recovery.
Precision: Surgeons can target specific areas minimizing damage to surrounding tissues.
Outpatient Procedures: Many endoscopic spine surgeries can be performed on an outpatient basis reducing the need for extensive hospital stays.
Conclusion
Endoscopic surgery represents a significant advancement in medical technology particularly within gastrointestinal health. Its minimally invasive nature coupled with its effectiveness in diagnosis and treatment has transformed patient care. As techniques continue to evolve patients can expect even more benefits from these innovative procedures. Whether you are facing gastrointestinal issues or spinal conditions, it’s important to consult with healthcare professionals experienced in endoscopic procedures. best Homeopathy Treatment for Peptic Ulcer
Peptic ulcers are painful sores that develop in the lining of the stomach, lower esophagus, or small intestine. They occur due to the erosion caused by stomach acid, often aggravated by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori or the chronic use of NSAIDs like aspirin. While conventional medicine offers treatments that primarily focus on symptom management, homeopathy seeks to address the root cause of the condition and promote overall well-being.
Understanding Peptic Ulcers
Peptic ulcers are not just a localized problem but a reflection of underlying imbalances in the body. The most common causes include:
Bacterial Infection: Helicobacter pylori is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers. This bacterium disrupts the stomach’s protective lining, allowing acid to cause damage.
NSAIDs: Chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can interfere with the stomach’s ability to protect itself from acid, leading to ulcers.
Lifestyle Factors: Smoking, alcohol consumption, excessive caffeine, and stress can exacerbate the condition.
Other Causes: Conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, characterized by tumors that increase acid production, can also lead to ulcers.
Symptoms of Peptic Ulcers
The symptoms of peptic ulcers can vary, but the most common include:
Burning Pain: Typically located between the navel and breastbone, this pain can last for minutes to hours and may be more intense at night.
Nausea and Vomiting: Often accompanied by a loss of appetite and subsequent weight loss.
Bleeding: In severe cases, ulcers can cause vomiting of blood or the presence of blood in stools, leading to anemia and weakness.
Homeopathy: A Natural Approach to Healing
Homeopathy offers a natural and holistic approach to treating peptic ulcers, focusing on restoring balance within the body and strengthening its inherent healing mechanisms. Unlike conventional treatments that primarily provide temporary relief, homeopathy aims to address the underlying causes of the condition.
Key Aspects of Homeopathy Treatment for Peptic Ulcer:
Root Cause Treatment: Homeopathic remedies are selected based on the individual’s unique symptoms and constitution, aiming to correct the underlying imbalance that causes ulcers. This personalized approach is fundamental to homeopathy.
Symptom Relief: While addressing the root cause, homeopathic remedies also provide relief from the painful symptoms of peptic ulcers, such as burning pain, nausea, and bloating.
Strengthening the Digestive System: Homeopathy supports the structure and function of the stomach and intestines, helping to restore the integrity of the mucosal lining and prevent further damage from gastric acids.
Boosting Immunity: By enhancing the body’s natural defenses, homeopathic treatment helps combat H. pylori infection and reduces the likelihood of ulcer recurrence.
Safe and Painless: Homeopathic remedies are gentle, with no side effects, making them suitable for long-term use without the risks associated with conventional medications like antibiotics and antacids.
Emotional Support: Stress is a known aggravator of peptic ulcers. Homeopathy not only addresses physical symptoms but also provides remedies that help manage stress and anxiety, contributing to overall well-being.
Common Homeopathic Remedies for Peptic Ulcers
Several homeopathic remedies are commonly used to treat peptic ulcers. The selection of the remedy depends on the individual’s specific symptoms and constitution. Some of the most frequently prescribed remedies include:
Nux Vomica: Effective for ulcers caused by lifestyle factors like stress, alcohol, and overeating, with symptoms like irritability and digestive discomfort.
Argentum Nitricum: Used for ulcers accompanied by anxiety and nervousness, often with a craving for sweets.
Lycopodium: Suitable for individuals with bloating, gas, and a tendency to overeat, often associated with ulcers in the duodenum.
Arsenicum Album: Beneficial for ulcers with burning pain, particularly when the pain worsens after midnight and is relieved by warm drinks.
Phosphorus: Indicated for bleeding ulcers, with symptoms like vomiting blood and a tendency towards weakness and fatigue.
The Homeopathic Process
Homeopathic treatment for peptic ulcers begins with a detailed consultation, where the practitioner assesses not just the physical symptoms but also the emotional and mental state of the patient. Based on this comprehensive evaluation, a personalized treatment plan is developed, focusing on the specific needs of the patient.
The treatment is closely monitored, with regular follow-ups to assess progress and make any necessary adjustments. This holistic approach ensures that the patient’s overall health improves, not just the ulcer symptoms.
Enhancing Quality of Life
Homeopathy is not just about treating the ulcer; it’s about improving the patient’s overall quality of life. By addressing the root cause of the condition and supporting the body’s natural healing processes, homeopathy helps patients lead healthier, more balanced lives.
In addition to the physical treatment, homeopathic practitioners often provide moral support and guidance on lifestyle modifications that can further aid in the healing process. This holistic care approach helps in managing stress, improving diet, and adopting healthier habits that contribute to long-term well-being.
Conclusion
Homeopathy offers a promising alternative to conventional treatments for peptic ulcers, focusing on treating the individual as a whole rather than just the symptoms. With its emphasis on natural healing, personalized care, and overall wellness, homeopathy provides a safe and effective way to manage peptic ulcers and enhance the quality of life for those affected.

ulcer homeopathy treatment | homeopathic treatment
Heal ulcers with homeopathy, A completely natural treatment
Ulcers can cause tremendous pain and disruption in one’s life. Whether gastric or duodenal, these open sores in the lining of the stomach or small intestines affect millions each year. While conventional medicine relies on antacids, H2 blockers or proton pump inhibitors to reduce stomach acid production, these only provide temporary relief and do not tackle the underlying causes.
Homeopathy takes a different approach. As a holistic system of medicine, homeopathy sees ulcers as an outer manifestation of inner imbalance in the body and aims to stimulate the body’s defence mechanisms. Homeopathic treatment focuses on addressing the root factors contributing to ulcer formation while providing relief from symptoms. The goal is a true inner cure rather than superficial management of signs.
Several homeopathic medicines for ulcers have shown success in treating various types of ulcers based on specific symptom pictures.
Complemented by individualized lifestyle and dietary recommendations, the judicious use of well-selected homeopathic remedies can put ulcer patients on the path to genuine recovery without harsh side effects. This article will explore the homeopathic viewpoint on ulcers and the key remedies and approaches used for their treatment.
An ulcer is an open, painful sore that develops on the inner lining of the stomach or upper part of the small intestine. Ulcers form when there is an imbalance between digestive fluids in the stomach and duodenum and the defence mechanisms that protect the stomach and intestinal lining. The two most common types of ulcers are gastric ulcers which occur in the stomach, and duodenal ulcers which develop in the upper part of the small intestine, known as the duodenum. The stomach normally secretes acidic digestive juices which can eat away at the stomach lining. Excess acid paired with a breakdown in protective factors allows a sore to form. Common causes for ulcers include infection with the Helicobacter pylori bacteria, long-term use of anti-inflammatory medications, and excess acid production due to stress or spicy foods. The symptoms of ulcers may include, burning upper abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Ulcers are quite common globally, affecting millions of adults each year.
What are the factors causing ulcers?
The development of ulcers stems from an imbalance between aggressive and defensive factors in the stomach and duodenum. Major causes include:
Infection with H. pylori bacteria – This is the most common cause, responsible for up to 80% of stomach ulcers. The bacteria release substances that damage and inflame the stomach lining.
Frequent NSAID pain medication use – Common over-the-counter medicines like aspirin and ibuprofen can irritate the stomach lining, especially with prolonged use. This reduces mucosal defenses.
Excess stomach acid – High acidic levels, exacerbated by caffeine, alcohol, spicy food or stress, can overwhelm protective factors allowing painful sores to form.
Poor blood supply – Restricted blood flow impairs the ability of the stomach lining to repair itself by transporting nutrients, bicarbonates and mucus needed to maintain integrity.
Genetic factors – A family history of ulcers suggests a genetic component, often related to increased acid production or H. pylori susceptibility.
Identifying and addressing the root causes and risk factors at play is crucial for effective, long-lasting treatment of ulcers. The homeopathic approach considers innate susceptibility along with lifestyle and environmental disease triggers in each individual.
What are the Symptoms?
The most predominant symptom of peptic ulcers is a burning or gnawing abdominal pain that can feel quite intense and comes and goes. The pain typically occurs in the upper middle part of the abdomen, just below the breastbone. It usually emerges a few hours after eating when the stomach is empty and is alleviated somewhat by eating bland foods or taking antacids. Other possible symptoms include bloating, belly swelling or fullness; nausea and vomiting; poor appetite and unintentional weight loss; intolerance to fatty foods which worsen pain; and dark blood in stools or vomit if ulcers are bleeding. Pain can last minutes to hours depending on the severity and location of the lesion. Unfortunately, symptoms in some cases may be quite vague before a stressor like an illness triggers more evident signs of an underlying ulcer. Identifying unique symptom patterns and precipitating factors helps guide individualized homeopathic treatment for ulcers.
Preventive measures for ulcer
👉Test and treat H. pylori infection if present – Eradicating this bacteria prevents recurrence in most cases
👉Avoid overuse of NSAID pain medications – Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time possible
👉Manage stress levels – Chronic anxiety and stress increase ulcer risk
👉Eat regular, small meals – Avoid going too long without eating to reduce excess acid
👉Limit coffee, alcohol, and spicy foods – These irritate the stomach lining
👉Stop smoking – Smoking hampers the defensive mechanisms protecting the stomach
👉Consider probiotic and zinc supplementation – Probiotics boost gut health while zinc aids tissue repair
Homeopathy treatment for ulcer
The homeopathic approach to ulcers focuses on supporting the body’s innate healing capacity while addressing underlying causes that drive symptom manifestations. The initial case-taking by a homeopath explores physical symptoms as well as mental/emotional attributes, sensitivities, cravings and aversions to match the total symptom picture to the appropriate single homeopathic remedy for ulcer. Rather than directly suppressing acid secretion as conventional medicines do, homeopathic medicines for ulcers stimulate the body’s natural regulatory processes to restore equilibrium gentler and less invasively. Commonly used remedies include,
1. Arsenicum album for burning pain relieved by hot food/drink.
2. Argentum nitricum for ulceration with “splinter-like” pains.
3. Lycopodium for bloating and excess acidity worse from onions/oats/gas-producing foods.
4. Phosphorous for bleeding ulcers with sensitivity to cold.
With an experienced homeopathic practitioner guiding remedy selection and potency level, the correct remedy for ulcer can act deeply to heal ulcer lesions, reduce pain/discomfort and prevent a recurrence.
While conventional medicine relies primarily on antacids and acid blockers for temporary symptomatic relief, homeopathy for ulcers takes a deeper curative approach by addressing underlying susceptibilities towards ulcer formation. By selecting individualized homeopathy medicines for ulcers based on the patient’s mental, emotional and physical symptom profiles, homeopathic treatment for ulcers aims to stimulate the healing of existing ulcers while reestablishing balance to prevent future lesions. With the assistance of an experienced practitioner, homeopathy serves as a potentially effective alternative for restoring stomach health in a gentle and lasting manner.

@eros-starfairy-kid I'll address your reply vis-à-vis Coca Cola and peptic ulcer disease here because it was formatted in a way that is unconducive to reblogging.
[Coca Cola can be used to clean rust]
I know this and if you read my original reply you might notice that I did not say that this isn't the case. However, hydrochloric acid, which stomach acid mostly consists of, can also do that. As I said in my orignal reply gastric acid (ph = ~2) is more acidic than Coca Cola (pH = 3). The gastric lining has evolved to be able to resist acidity. Stomach ulcers occur when the mucosal lining is damaged somehow allowing the acid to come into direct contact with the stomach wall. I will address this below.
#also my nana on my mom's side has been to the hospital a handful of times cause she has a cola addiction and has had it since highschool #she had to go cold turkey from it once or twice in 2019 and 2021 cause her doctors told her she BARELY had any stomach lining left COLA LITERALLY DESTROYS YOUR STOMACH LINING. I've eavesdropped on the phone calls my mom has gotten from my nana #i literally cannot make this up.
Most people do not develop gastric ulcers no matter what their diet consists of. Your grandmother either has a genetic propensity for gastric ulcer disease or there is some other causative agent.
In any case, it is absolutely certain that the acidity of Coca Cola is not a causative agent for peptic ulcers. Rubinstein et al. showed that Coca Cola decreases gastric potential difference (a proxy measurement for the integrity of the gastric mucosa) somewhat but less than does red wine. Stomach pH was unchanged after ingesting red wine, ethanol or coke. Your rust removal argument is invalid, but we knew that before.
Maybe learn about these things from the medical literature instead of eavesdropping on your family members.

Which is healthier, drinking plain water for a long time or drinking tea for a long time?
Tumblr media
Which is healthier, drinking plain water for a long time or drinking tea for a long time?
Water is the 'source of life'. Once the human body lacks water, various parts of the body may stop functioning properly. Blood flow decreases, oxygen supply is insufficient, nerve function weakens, skin becomes fragile, metabolism slows down, and the body's operation is hindered, which can lead to abnormal organ function. Therefore, many people pay great attention to hydration, especially middle-aged and elderly people who like to carry water bottles wherever they go.
As many people's favorite drinks, plain water and tea have sparked controversy over "which is healthier?":
◎Some people think that plain water is one of the simplest and healthiest drinking water;
◎Others believe that tea can provide a variety of nutrients and is better for health~
So, who is better in the end? Today, let's explore it together~
Plain Water
"A Water Drink with No Taboos"
Plain water contains no additives such as sugar, caffeine, or colorants. Therefore, there are not many restricted groups of people who cannot drink it. Anyone, regardless of their health status, can drink it in moderation.
Tumblr media
And maintaining adequate daily water intake is crucial for the health of the human body's skin, blood vessels, and intestines.
①Maintaining Healthy Skin: Sufficient skin moisture and fast metabolism reduce the appearance of wrinkles, spots, etc., making you look younger.
②Reducing Respiratory Diseases: The respiratory mucosa is relatively moist, and the secretion of mucus helps reduce the invasion of pathogens.
③Improving Blood Flow: Adequate water intake helps blood flow smoothly and reduces the risk of blood clots.
④Preventing Constipation: Adequate water intake prevents dry stool and constipation.
⑤Protecting the Stomach Mucosa: Boiled and cooled plain water, known as "Taihe Soup" in traditional Chinese medicine, is a "stomach tonic" that can help prevent stomach mucosal damage and reduce intestinal fermentation.
Drinking Water in Proper Amounts
For plain water, it is more important to pay attention to the amount you drink.
"The standard of drinking 8 glasses of water a day" is widely circulated, and many people insist on following it. However, this standard is not suitable for everyone.
Tumblr media
01
Standard water intake for the general population
The "Chinese Resident Dietary Guidelines (2022)" states that adult men with low physical activity levels should drink 1700ml of water per day, and adult women should drink 1500ml of water per day.
If the weather is hot, the air is dry, or you sweat a lot, you should increase your water intake accordingly.
You can pay attention to the color, clarity, and quantity of your urine. If it is light yellow, clear, and sufficient, your water intake is adequate. Otherwise, you need to drink more water.
02
Special populations need to control water intake
①Patients with gastric ulcers undergoing medication: The medication contains substances such as sucralfate and aluminum hydroxide gel that protect the gastric mucosa. If you drink too much water, it may reduce the efficacy of the medication and hinder the recovery of the disease.
②Patients with chronic kidney disease: When kidney function is impaired, the water you drink cannot be excreted normally, so water intake needs to be controlled.
In general, the appropriate daily water intake (including water intake from drinking and food) is 500ml plus the amount of urine from the previous day.
③Patients with uremia: At this time, the amount of water intake needs to be based on changes in body weight.
You can weigh your weight at a fixed time every day (preferably after urination and before breakfast), and the daily weight gain should not exceed 0.5% of your body weight. In addition, the weight gain between two dialysis sessions should be less than 3% to ensure the effectiveness of dialysis.
④Patients with heart failure: Drinking a large amount of water will increase the cardiac output and increase the heart's workload, worsening the condition. For patients with severe heart failure, the water intake may need to be controlled to less than 800ml, based on medical advice.
Tumblr media
Tea
"Regulator" of the Body
Tea contains various medicinal ingredients such as tea polyphenols, tea polysaccharides, and alkaloids. Among the 86 essential elements required by the human body, tea contains 28 of them. Therefore, drinking tea frequently can serve as a "regulator" of the body, helping to reduce some disease risks.
①Reducing the incidence of cardiovascular diseases
A study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology included 100,902 subjects aged 18 years or older and followed them for 17 years. The study found that people who drank tea at least three times a week had a 20% lower incidence of cardiovascular diseases and a 22% lower mortality rate than those who drank tea less than three times a week. The overall risk of death was reduced by about 15%.
②Assisting in lowering blood pressure
The American College of Cardiology summarized 21 effective studies involving a total of 1,323 subjects. The study found that compared with non-tea drinkers, tea drinkers had an average reduction of 1.8 mmHg in systolic blood pressure and 1.4 mmHg in diastolic blood pressure, and the blood pressure-lowering effect was more pronounced for those who drank tea for more than 12 weeks.
③Helping with weight loss and lipid-lowering
The Tea Research Institute of Zhejiang University found that the complex catechin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), in tea can consume excess energy by increasing the production of brown fat, thereby assisting in weight loss. At the same time, it can also inhibit microglia cells, reduce hypothalamic inflammation, improve body weight, and regulate the normal function of the central nervous system.
Drinking Tea, Paying Attention to the "Four Nos"
Not everyone can drink tea, and not every time is suitable for drinking tea:
Tumblr media
01
People who are not suitable for drinking tea
Patients with neurasthenia, insomnia, hyperthyroidism, tuberculosis, heart disease, gastric disease, and intestinal ulcers are not suitable for drinking tea, especially strong tea. Nursing or pregnant women and infants and young children are also not suitable for drinking tea.
02
Do not drink tea in the morning or before bed, and do not drink before or after meals
Drinking tea on an empty stomach in the morning will dilute gastric acid and reduce digestive function. Tea has an exciting and diuretic effect, which can affect sleep quality if consumed before bed. It is recommended to drink tea around 10 am.
The caffeine in tea can inhibit gastric acid secretion, and drinking tea before a meal is not conducive to digestion and absorption. Drinking tea immediately after a meal can affect the body's absorption of protein and iron due to the tannic acid in tea. It is therefore recommended to drink tea one hour after a meal.
03
Do not drink tea while taking certain medications
People who need to take sedatives, sleeping pills, or antiarrhythmic drugs should not drink tea because the caffeine and other components in tea can reduce the medication's effectiveness, which may be disadvantageous for controlling the condition.
04
Do not drink too strong tea
Strong tea contains high levels of fluoride. Frequent consumption of strong tea can damage the kidneys, increase gastrointestinal burden, and easily cause "tea-fluoride poisoning."
Therefore, a daily intake of about 12 grams of tea for healthy adults, with each serving of 3 grams brewed with 150 ml of water, is appropriate.
In summary, drinking tea and drinking plain water are equally good. The most important thing is to consume an appropriate and moderate amount.
Remember these four points to hydrate correctly and stay healthy
Whether you are drinking tea or plain water, you need to pay attention to these four points:
Tumblr media
01
Drink proactively
Do not wait until you are thirsty to drink water because thirst is a clear sign of dehydration. As the body loses more water, the urine color deepens, the skin becomes dry, the mouth becomes dry and cracked, the voice becomes hoarse, and the body becomes weak.
It is best to replenish water every half an hour.
02
Sip slowly
Even if you are thirsty, do not drink water in large gulps. Drinking too much water in one go can cause the water to enter the bloodstream quickly. After absorption in the gut, the blood will become diluted, increasing the circulation volume suddenly, which can easily increase myocardial oxygen consumption and aggravate the heart's workload.
The correct method is to sip slowly, especially for people with cardiovascular problems, who should drink in small amounts and frequently.
03
Avoid water that is too hot
Water that is too hot (above 65℃) can scald the esophageal mucosa. If this happens repeatedly, it can cause inflammation or even cancer.
04
Choose the right variety
There are many types of tea, and you need to learn to choose the right one according to the season:
①In spring, when the yang energy is vigorous and can lead to liver yang hyperactivity, it is suitable to drink green tea to regulate the liver and relieve depression.
②In summer, when the weather is hot and the incidence of cardiovascular events is high, it is suitable to drink fully fermented black tea.
③In autumn, when the weather is dry and fluid consumption is high, it is suitable to drink white tea to clear heat and moisten the lungs.
④In winter, when the weather is cold and the kidneys need to store essence for winter, black tea is suitable because it enters the kidneys.

Omeprazole For Horses

Omeprazole for Horses
So, you think your horse has a stomach ulcer.
It’s an awful thing, we know. It happens to more horses than you might think. Over fifty percent of them, in fact. Almost every horse owner has experienced gastric ulcers before. We have all been there. The important thing is that you caught it and are going to fix it.
The faster you identify and begin treatment of your horse’s stomach ulcers, the quicker they can start the healing process. Believe me when I say – this is not something you want your horse to suffer through any longer than necessary. Fast response time means reduced pain and lessened damage to the horse’s stomach.
To keep your own sanity and peace of mind, treat your horse with Omeprazole. It will give you the best chance of coming out on the other side of this nasty condition with a healthy and happy horse.
If you’re not one hundred percent sure whether your horse has stomach ulcers, you are not alone. One of the problems with gastric stomach ulcers in horses is that the animals do not always show signs of the affliction, and owners are often left clueless while the horse suffers in silence. It is not as though your horse can raise its hand and ask for help.
This is why as a horse owner it is so important to keep your eyes peeled for any of the symptoms. These include but are not limited to, changes in eating and drinking, unexpected weight loss, lethargy, a dull coat, and negative changes in attitude. Keep in mind that foals, if stricken by stomach ulcers, may lay on their backs or grind their teeth excessively. If you witness one or more of these symptoms, it is important to seek the advice of your veterinary doctor.
Only a qualified person can properly diagnose gastric stomach ulcers.
Now that you have talked to your veterinary doctor and know for sure – yes, your horse has ulcers, it is time to start treatment. The best-recommended treatment is Omeprazole. Because a gastric ulcer is a wound on the upper lining of a horse’s stomach – and a horse’s body produces acid all day – it is absolutely crucial to suppress the corrosive hydrochloric acid that bubbles out of the proton pumps at the very bottom of the stomach and splashes against the already compromised mucosal lining.
Think of it as a leaky faucet spraying acid onto the unprotected membrane where the ulcers have already formed. In other words, salt on the wound. Omeprazole works by inhibiting the acid pump (suppressing the evil acid faucet), thereby blocking acid excretion (the salt), and allowing the ulcerated mucosal lining (the wound) to heal.
It doesn’t matter what caused the ulcer– stress, rampant acid, bacteria – Omeprazole will stifle the splashing acid so that your horse can heal effectively, getting them back to normal life in no time at all.
How Much Omeprazole Should I Give My Horse?
Omeprazole comes as an oral paste, inside a 10ml plastic tube that contains 2.3 grams of Omeprazole. The proper dosage for a horse suffering from stomach ulcers is a full tube administered orally every day for thirty days, then a half a tube daily after that. It is important to double-check if Omeprazole can be taken with any other supplements or medications your horse might be taking. Before administering the Omeprazole paste, ensure your horse’s mouth doesn’t have any feed in it. During the administration, make sure your horse takes the entire dose. Afterwards, keep watch to be sure none of the doses is lost. If any is, re-dose to guarantee the horse takes the fully intended dosage. It is important to keep dosages constant throughout the entire treatment.
As with any medication, always consult your veterinary specialist about the exact dose to give your horse. Certain cases may require less or more Omeprazole, depending on the severity of the ulcers. Omeprazole may also be used in low dosages as an ulcer-suppressant.
Omeprazole Side-Effects
When using Omeprazole for a prolonged period of time, there is always the possibility of your horse experiencing an adverse reaction. An abrupt stoppage of Omeprazole may result in a rebounding acid effect. At higher dosages, this can make your horse even more vulnerable to ulcers. Omeprazole can also cause malnutrition. Because stomach acids are key in digesting protein and absorbing minerals, using an inhibitor can disrupt this natural process.
It is also good to understand that Omeprazole does not guard against colon ulcers. As a side note, it is common for a horse to lose a significant amount of weight when suffering from stomach ulcers. This is normal and should not be seen as a side effect of the treatment.
How Much Does Omeprazole Cost?
The price of Omeprazole for the treatment of ulcers in horses varies in cost depending mostly on the brand name. This can range anywhere from $15 a tube to $35 a tube. The price can be lessened slightly if buying in bulk. Whichever brand you choose when buying medication for your horse, keep in mind you are paying for the health of your beloved animal. Sometimes the generic option just won’t cut it.
There are some free methods you can employ to help with your horse’s ulcers. Firstly, you want to make life as stress-free as possible. Stress is often one of the causes of ulcers and it is important to reduce this nasty agitator. Cut training hours where applicable and provide pain relief where possible. Whatever you do, under no circumstance give your horse Omeprazole for humans. It costs less, but it will not work.
Feeding your horse corn oil for six weeks will also not work, neither will unrefined rice bran oil for six weeks, or refined rice bran oil for six weeks. These are not substitutes for Omeprazole. The proper drug may be expensive, but it is expensive because it works. When it comes to the health of your horse, please don’t risk it.

What is the Best Treatment for Ulcers in Horses?
The first and only FDA-approved prescription medication for treating EGUS is GastroGard®, which contains the active ingredient omeprazole. Omeprazole works by shutting down the production of gastric acid, allowing the ulcer(s) to heal.

Final Note
Over the years and through some research I have learned a lot about this subject.  This article isn’t an all-encompassing post on this subject.  I hope to shed some light on the issue and answer some questions.  Most notably I am going to highlight natural treatments and remedies that are available for the treatment of ulcers.  I am certainly not a vet or trying to play one on the internet, so please consult your vet.
The information provided here is for informational purposes only.  The information is not a substitute for advice from a veterinarian or other health care professional.  It should not be used for diagnosis or treatment of any health problem or for prescription of any medication or other treatment. A health care professional needs to be consulted before starting any diet or supplementation program.  Also before administering any medication, alternative, herbal blends et al or if your horse has a health problem. Do not discontinue any other medical treatments without first consulting your health care professional.

Can CBD help IBS?
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) may be treated with CBD due to its inherent anti-inflammatory qualities. IBS is extremely prevalent and typically a lifelong condition.
Avoiding specific foods, such as dairy and gluten, can benefit a lot of people with their digestive system, but it does not work as well for some. The bacteria in your stomach and digestive system are extremely sensitive to disturbances, and if they are out of balance, they can cause a variety of issues.
How does CBD aid irritable bowel syndrome?
Numerous studies have examined the effects of CBD on the digestive system. Cannabinoids, like those in CBD, can activate CB1 receptors in the endocannabinoid system, according to a 2016 review of studies. This contributed to a decrease in stomach acid production and the establishment of gastric mucosal ulcers. A 2011 study indicated that many IBS patients had used cannabis to treat diarrhoea, loss of appetite, and stomach pain. While cannabis and CBD have distinct distinctions, they both include naturally occurring cannabinoids with a variety of beneficial properties.
CBD has anti-inflammatory properties. It has been discovered to lower intestinal inflammation, and studies have determined that it may help minimise ulcerative colitis-related intestinal damage. CBD can also raise your body's anandamide levels, which serves to alleviate inflammation. CBD inhibits the production of an enzyme that degrades anandamide, increasing the hormone's concentration in the bloodstream.
Can CBD aid in Stress reduction?
Stress is one factor that can contribute to IBS flare-ups. Due to its mental and physical symptoms, stress has a harmful effect on the digestive system. Cortisol, the stress hormone, is released by the body in response to stress. Your adrenal gland produces cortisol, and having consistently high levels in your circulation can cause anxiety and weight gain. A study discovered that CBD reduced cortisol levels in the blood of participants. As a plant-based dietary supplement, it is simple to consume water-soluble CBD daily. This can help you maintain a healthy Stress level.
According to reports, CBD helped Gabby with her stress and anxiety.
Which form of CBD is beneficial for IBS?
When taking something new to treat digestive issues such as IBS, the last thing you want is for your stomach issues to worsen. CBD is sometimes connected with gastrointestinal trouble, however in most cases this association is due to CBD oil. When CBD is taken in the form of oil, considerable amounts of oil must be ingested to have the desired effect. This can cause intestinal distress. Because all Mee CBD products contain CBD that is water-soluble, there is no need to drink oil when taking them. Simply add CBD drops or powder to a cup of peppermint tea.
Another significant consideration is organic CBD. This ensures that no pesticides or harsh chemicals are present in the CBD product you are using. These could disturb your digestive tract and exacerbate your IBS. Organic CBD is produced and farmed specifically for the production of high-quality goods. Some companies extract CBD from plants using harsh chemicals, which might exacerbate stomach issues.
CBD for IBS Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome
CBD shows considerable potential for treating IBS. Numerous studies have demonstrated that cannabis' interaction with the endocannabinoid system is beneficial. CBD's natural anti-inflammatory effects can help alleviate the discomfort associated with IBS, and maintaining a low level of stress can help prevent flare-ups. CBD that is organic and water-soluble is an excellent option for folks who prioritise their gut health.
Meet Sandy, a therapist who use Mee CBD for cancer rehabilitation and inflammation.
As a reminder:
What is CBD and what is its function?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. THC, a different cannabinoid, is responsible for the psychoactive effects commonly associated with marijuana. CBD is permitted in the UK but THC is banned. All CBD sold by Mee CBD is water-soluble, and test results are accessible for each product so that you can determine which cannabinoids are present.
CBD functions through interacting with the body's endocannabinoid system. Your endocannabinoid system contains receptors throughout your body, especially in the brain and digestive tract. These receptors interact with endogenous cannabinoids in the body. It is necessary for your endocannabinoid system to operate optimally to ensure that all of your bodily functions are healthy. You can have issues with your endocannabinoid system, and preliminary evidence suggests that migraines and fibromyalgia may be associated with endocannabinoid system issues. CBD aids in the regulation of the endocannabinoid system, and the cannabinoids it contains interact with the body's receptors.

To the north Indian 1200 Calories Diet plan Program For Weight loss A straightforward And Successful Extra weight lessening
Experts from your School of Nottingham have found that drinking coffee can stimulate 'brown fat', the body's own extra fat-combating safeguarding, which could possibly be the reply to taking on being overweight way too as diabetes mellitus. In the event you want to eliminate fat, you should use-up far more energy than you eat. Carly's Cinderella Solution A 20-pound body fat eliminating in a single four weeks is far less probably for small women, who generally eat less as well as burn up under two,500 unhealthy calories every single day. Randomised controlled trial offers (the precious metal standard of medical study) show that ADF doesn't trigger far more unwanted fat decrease or improvements in health and wellness unlike standard diet when calorie intake is the exact same in both groupings.
Tumblr media
Numerous celebrities, like Beyonce and Jimmy Kimmel, are rumored to make use of intermittent fasting to decrease bodyweight. Longer-word research has shown that calorie consumption on "fasting" days and nights creeps up around time, which regularly lowers the calories deficit attained and decreases the pace of bodyweight-loss. Carly Donovan's Cinderella Solution Review Many hunter gatherers have a diet plan substantial in carbohydrates, although some have got a diet plan almost solely of unwanted fat furthermore to health proteins (such because the Inuit). Additionally on the predicted body weight lessening and advancement in obesity-relevant comorbidities just right after gastric get around surgical procedure, they observed that this affect of surgical treatment is not tied to fecal communities; mucosal communities are modified as well. Largely North Native indian diet consists of no-vegetarian goods in addition to higher-extra fat articles food items, which typically consists of thicker yummy gravies, parathas, unique curries, cottage type cheese, tandoors & spices. Maybe, considering each one specific of the goofy noise simply being manufactured about unhealthy calories, that final bit bears practicing yet another time: … participants' energy consumption was altered periodically…” In a variety of other words, even during this research looking explicitly around the metabolic unwanted side effects of carbs, when it was time to induce excess fat decrease, or make certain it was actually taken care of, they turned into energy equally periods. Any diet regime that contains less than 45Per cent of unhealthy calories from carbohydrate food could technically be looked at lower-carb, even so most widely used lower-carb diet plans have no over 25Per cent of calorie consumption from carbohydrates (125 grams on a daily basis having a two,000-caloric diet program) ( 1 ). Overview: Bigger grownups with some excess fat to shed may possibly decline 20 lbs in two months. These personality modifications lessen the chance of occasional fasting finally leading to weight-damage.

I know H. pylori makes urease, which helps it colonize the gut, and that it can cause gastric adenocarcinoma if untreated. But I didn’t know what the virulence factor is that makes it cause gastric cancer—it’s CagA.
The patient has infection with Helicobacter pylori. Amoxicillin plus clarithromycin and omeprazole (triple therapy; can give metronidazole instead of amoxicillin if pt is allergic to penicillins) combination is the first line treatment. There are other combo treatments such as "bismuth + erythromycin + amox + metronidazole" available (quadruple therapy; see the mnemonic below).
Two of the virulence factors that are implicated in pathogenesis of H. pylori are cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA) and vacuolating cytotoxin A (VacA) that are injected and secreted by H. pylori, respectively. Both of these virulence factors are polymorphic and affect a multitude of host cellular pathways. It is shown that strains of H. pylori that produce these factors cause more serious damage to the host cells. It is shown that the mere presence of CagA is associated with more severe disease forms. It is also shown that cancer patients are at least twice as likely to be infected with an H. pylori strains that are cagA positive than those that are cagA negative.
CagA versus VacA: The cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA) protein of H. pylori is an oncoprotein, and after delivery into the gastric epithelial cells it can induce malignant neoplastic changes. Vac A causes vacuolization within mucosal cells, damages tight junctions, and causes apoptosis of the affected cells.
About other options: Urease is a virulence factor of Helicobacter pylori. It allows the bug to survive in the acidic environment of the stomach, and allows for infestation and damage to the mucosal barrier. Protein A is the virulence factor of Staphylococcus aureus.
Epithelial-cadherin (Ecad) is a major contributor to cell–cell adhesion and tissue integrity, playing critical mechanical and signaling functions in epithelial cells. It is shown that aberrant Ecad is associated with invasiveness of cancers in general and gastrointestinal cancers such as gastric carcinoma and familial polyposis, in particular.
