Veefriends: A Revolutionary NFT Project by Gary Vaynerchuk
In the rapidly evolving world of digital assets, few projects have made as significant an impact as Veefriends. Launched by entrepreneur and social media mogul Gary Vaynerchuk, Veefriends is more than just a collection of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) — it’s a community, a brand, and a new way of thinking about digital ownership and personal interaction.
What is Veefriends?
Veefriends is an innovative NFT project created by Gary Vaynerchuk, also known as GaryVee. Launched in May 2021, the project consists of 10,255 hand-drawn tokens, each representing a unique character, such as “Patient Panda” or “Empathy Elephant.” These characters are not just whimsical illustrations but embody traits and values that GaryVee has championed throughout his career.
What sets Veefriends apart from other NFT projects is its blend of digital art with real-world utility. Each Veefriend token acts as a membership pass to VeeCon, an annual multi-day conference where token holders can attend talks, meet like-minded individuals, and interact with GaryVee himself. This fusion of digital assets with tangible benefits makes Veefriends a pioneer in the NFT space.
The Vision Behind Veefriends
GaryVee has always been known for his foresight in identifying trends and opportunities in the digital world. With Veefriends, his vision was to create something that went beyond mere speculation in the NFT market. He aimed to build a community where ownership of a token grants not only artistic value but also access to experiences and education.
The characters in Veefriends are more than just digital collectibles; they represent traits and values that GaryVee believes are essential for personal and professional success. By creating this project, GaryVee is encouraging his followers to embrace these traits, fostering a culture of self-improvement, kindness, and entrepreneurship.
How Veefriends Works
Veefriends operates on the Ethereum blockchain, making use of smart contracts to ensure transparency, security, and ownership. Each character is a unique token, and their ownership is recorded on the blockchain. This ensures that the owner has exclusive rights to their Veefriend and can sell, trade, or hold it as they see fit.
What makes Veefriends unique is the utility each token offers. The three main categories of tokens are:
Access Tokens: These tokens provide direct access to GaryVee. This could be a one-on-one meeting, mentorship session, or even an invitation to participate in activities with GaryVee.
Admission Tokens: These tokens grant access to VeeCon, the annual conference designed to bring together the Veefriends community for networking, learning, and fun.
Gift Tokens: These tokens offer special perks and surprises from GaryVee, often including exclusive content, physical items, or other unique benefits.
Each of these tokens serves to bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds, making Veefriends a comprehensive experience rather than just a digital collection.
The Impact of Veefriends
Veefriends has not only gained popularity for its unique approach to NFTs but has also been a driving force in bringing mainstream attention to the NFT space. GaryVee’s influence and reach have helped demystify NFTs for a broader audience, encouraging both collectors and newcomers to explore this new form of digital ownership.
Moreover, Veefriends has set a precedent for how NFTs can offer real-world value, challenging the notion that they are merely speculative assets. By integrating community, education, and personal development into the Veefriends ecosystem, GaryVee has demonstrated that NFTs can be a powerful tool for building lasting relationships and creating meaningful experiences.
The Future of Veefriends
As the NFT market continues to evolve, Veefriends is poised to remain a significant player. GaryVee has hinted at future developments, including potential collaborations, new characters, and expanded utility for token holders. With VeeCon set to become an annual event, the Veefriends community will continue to grow, offering even more value to its members.
The success of Veefriends is a testament to the power of combining digital innovation with real-world benefits. It’s a model that other projects will likely emulate, but Veefriends will always have the distinction of being one of the first to do it on such a grand scale.
Veefriends is more than just an NFT collection; it’s a pioneering project that merges the digital and physical worlds in a way that benefits its community members. With GaryVee’s vision and the enthusiasm of its collectors, Veefriends has become a symbol of what the future of digital ownership can look like — one where value is derived not just from the asset itself but from the experiences, relationships, and growth it facilitates.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just getting started in the world of NFTs, Veefriends offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a revolutionary project that’s changing the way we think about ownership, community, and value in the digital age.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Let me start saying that probably one of my weaknesses is talking about myself. I could talk hours about the great things that other people have done or have created, but it is just a challenge to find the words to talk about myself without feeling like a self-centric person.
Having said that, I do know that I have many great qualities and skills because, without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
For those new around here, let me introduce myself, I am Cristina Arce, the owner of a photography business and a fine art online store, both based in Toronto, Canada. I started my photography business in 2002, and since then, I have worked across the board of photography, from fashion, corporate and entertainment headshots, to commercial, editorial, and product photography. Currently, my main focus has been branding and social media imagery for clients who need amazing photos for their businesses.
I am also a graphic designer with extensive experience of over 15 years in web and print design, over seven years as an email marketing design specialist, and over five years as a manager overseeing a creative department of 18 employees. I went to university to get a degree in graphic design and publicity back in the early 2000s, and another in photography after that. I recently went to college to get a social media and management certificate, and currently, I am taking three courses online about business from Western University and George Brown College.
I can easily talk about what I do because that is something that I am very passionate about. But I did not really mention anything about myself. Yes, by telling you what I have done for a living, you may have guessed that I love to study and that I am really good at business. However, the reality is, it has not always been easy, and I had to get over many challenges and learn many new skills on the way.
One thing that everyone trying to go into a new business or starting a new venture needs to do is evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, so they can have a clear idea of where they will need help, or where they will need to learn more in-depth.
Strengths and weaknesses
You may find several blog posts and articles all over the Internet about the many essential qualities that most business owners should have. Some articles have lists of over 20 or 30 specific skills. And a lot of them will make you think that if you do not have all of them, you won’t be able to ever run a small business - I do not think it’s necessarily true.
Even though I don’t think you do not need to have every single quality when you are successfully launching a business, you definitely need to prepare yourself to wear many hats. And sometimes all of them at the same time!
Every person is unique. You all have strengths and weaknesses, not only personal ones but also as professionals. The same goes for your business. Every business requires a different set of skills according to the products or services offered.
Today I won’t be giving you a list of all the essential qualities that you need to run a small business; instead, I am going to put myself on the spot and tell you with entire honesty what are some of my personal and professional strengths and weaknesses that I have discovered through the years as a freelance creative.
I will make it as a list because I love lists! :)
STRENGTHS
I love to-do lists and sticky notes
I love to help people
I am a “glass-half-full” kind of person. I try to find the good in people and opportunities from rough moments.
I am very easy-going
I like to share advice from my own experience
Love to start projects and new adventures
Love to be organized, and keep track of everything that’s going on
Love to start every year with a new paper agenda, and write down my goals
I am definitely a visual person and love to create vision boards for my projects
I am used to wearing several "hats" at the same time
I am always analyzing risks and opportunities
I have determination and perseverance
I am very artistic and creative
I am bilingual, I speak English and Spanish.
WEAKNESSES
I am naturally a nice person, so some people may try to take advantage of it.
I am a perfectionist and focus too much on getting things perfect instead of getting them done.
I take too much on my plate, and I cannot finish the many projects I am working on
I do not know when to stop without feeling defeated.
I do compare my behind the scenes with other people’s highlights, which brings self insecurities
Most of the time, I am overthinking when analyzing risks and opportunities. LOL
I get overwhelmed when I am given too many options to choose from.
Oh, definitely bookkeeping, accounting, and banking stuff! I am so thankful that people love to do these tasks, so I can outsource it!
Why is it so important about knowing these qualities about yourself?
Before jumping onto the entrepreneurship wagon, I was an employee for a large company, and didn’t know all the little and not so little things that were happening behind the scenes. I did not know that since I was the business owner I had to look for new clients, keep them and making them happy, deal any complaints or suggestions, finding suppliers, changing suppliers, bookkeeping, accounting, social media, website creation, website maintenance, marketing and advertising, government paperwork, finding ways to innovate, creation of new products/services, prototypes, testing of those products/services, etc.
Why am I telling you all this? Because knowing everything that needs to be done, and being able to identify what you do well, and what you do not do so well, will help you to find the best solutions to those challenges.
For example, I am not a math person; I could even get a headache just thinking of doing the taxes myself. I know it's one of my weaknesses. So, as a business owner who HAS to do bookkeeping, accounting, and fill out the taxes every single year, what did I do? Well, I planned ahead and saved some of my income to be able to hire someone to do that for me.
Remember, another solution is, if you do not want to hire someone, you can always go back to school and learn those new skills.
(Image source: GaryVee Wallpapers, a Quote from Gary Vaynerchuk )
Now, it's your turn. Take a pen and a paper, and write down your strengths and weaknesses. As you evaluate yourself, be honest. You will only hurt yourself if you are not. If you find a weakness, try to find a possible solution, like what I did for my accounting challenges.
Leave a comment telling us one of your strengths and weaknesses, and what may be your solution to your weakness.
During the next weeks, I will be posting more about entrepreneurship, some new business ideas that I have, and I will be showing the progress of starting this new venture. Thanks for stopping by! :)

A Simple Dream Doesn’t Cut It
Blog I: While having a dream and vision is a good start, it’s not always enough. In this blog we dive in to how to take your dreams, your aspirations, the greater desires you have in life, and actually construct it into something tangible. We will dive deeper into finding happiness, fulfillment, and joy in life. While this article may focus on how these things relate to entrepreneurship and business more specifically, the ideas behind these concepts apply to just about every aspect of life. Enjoy.
The American dream of starting your own company is a desire many people have, however the dream is often where it all begins... And, unfortunately often enough, ends. This is not because Americans are too “lazy” or do not know how to “execute on their dreams,” however it is often hindered by something that is more crippling than laziness or the ability to execute. The fear of failure. The fear of not meeting the standards people think are set for them by their parents, friends, a spouse, society, or whatever other barriers cripple them. As I stated in the introduction, while I am specifically relating the fear of failure to the business world and entrepreneurship in this instance, this topic can relate to just about any aspect of life that applies to you personally, so read on. So many times, day in and day out, people are crippled and sell themselves short of making dreams a reality and aspiring to be something greater in life because they fear the repercussions of failure. This fear outweighs the possibility of happiness, enjoyment, fulfillment, and many other collateral beauties that surround the opportunity of taking a chance. Doubts and fear surround the minds of people because they value what others think of them more than they value what they define of themselves in their head. What will my parents think of me if I try and I fail? Will my friends make fun of me? Who will be there to catch me if my dreams crumble? The thoughts of what people think is an expectation of them holds them back from doing something greater, leaving them only dreaming of making it a reality.
“Let me tell you what’s way scarier than failure, regret.” -Gary Vaynerchuk
See, so many people want to do something bigger than themselves. They want to travel. They want to start that business. They want to reach out to that old friend to catch up. They want to apply to that dream job with lofty requirements. Hell, they want to ask that life long crush of theirs on a date. But, they don’t.
They don’t because they fear the potential outcome of the situation more than they love the process of trying to create or begin something that would bring them true happiness in life. The process, in my eyes, is the key. If you learn to love the entire process of something, then you are not dragged down by a result that was shortcoming to their expectations or a bump in the road along the way. Rather, these set backs simply create more challenges and more obstacles that are present to overcome. This provides more opportunity to prove the “haters” wrong once again. Get up one more time when no one thought you would. Even prove to yourself that you can do more than you once thought you could (or couldn’t). Once you learn to love this process as a whole, failure becomes something that creates a greater drive to succeed, rather than crippling the ability for you to start trying. As Gary Vaynerchuk says, “Let me tell you what’s way scarier than failure, regret.”
So many people hinder their self-perception on what other people think of them. If you try to start that business right now and fail, but know you gave it your best at bat, doesn’t that make you way more comfortable with this one chance at life we are given, than living with the regret of never trying? When you are 98 years old and can’t move your legs anymore, do you want to look back and say, “I took some wins, took some losses, and gave it one hell of a ride.” Or do you want to look back and say, “Damn, when I had the chance to start that business I should have just taken the risk to pursue something I was truly passionate about, but now it’s too late.”
Something I recently have adopted is the mindset of “That’s my L.” The basic reasoning behind this approach is that if I try something, it happens to fail but I know I gave it my best shot, then that means that is my “L.” Gary Vaynerchuk, who you all will realize I will be quoting quite often, created this quote. What Gary is saying is that if I attempt something, whether in business or in your own niche of life, and you fail, that is your “L.” That is your loss. That’s not your mom’s loss, not your dad’s loss, not your friend’s loss. It’s yours. You tried, and you failed. Not only does this give you a sense of ownership over the losses you take, but it also applies to the flip side of thinking in that your parents, your friends, anyone else, has no place to care about whether you win or lose. That’s your problem to focus on. They have enough of their own problems in life to focus on, however if they choose to focus on yours it’s because they are avoiding all of their own losses in life.
“Probably some of the best things that have ever happened to you in life, happened because you said yes to something. Otherwise things just sort of stay the same.” - Danny Wallace
So often people live life like we are guaranteed another chance. Another shot at all of this. Now, I am not going to get religious, spiritual, or try and change anyone’s beliefs. But at the end of the day, no one knows for sure or can guarantee that there is more to come after this. Today could be any one of our last days to make our dreams a reality. Think back on your past, when did the best things happen to you in life? Was it when you took a chance and extended your comfort zone? Or was it when you played it safe and took no chances at all? Danny Wallace is quoted in Yes Man saying, “Probably some of the best things that have ever happened to you in life, happened because you said yes to something. Otherwise things just sort of stay the same.” The mindset I am speaking of in this post is not something that will change overnight for any of you. Many of you will probably even be instinctive to resist the change, think this mindset and way of thinking is unrealistic or unachievable. That’s okay. I thought it was too at first, until I took it upon myself to take my own happiness, my own mental health, and my own perception of an ideal life that I will be happy one day leaving behind into my own hands. I adopted many of these beliefs and ideas because I wasn’t necessarily miserable or super unhappy with my life, rather I knew there was something more out there for me to pursuit and attain. There was additional opportunity for greater happiness and fulfillment in life that I knew I had not yet grasped.
With all of this being said, it is also an interesting concept because if you are completely happy in life and have no part of your life to apply to this article, then you have won. If you’re happy and do not complain at all about how things are going for you or where you are at on a personal happiness level, you have won the ultimate blessing that so many unfulfilled individual’s are looking for. However, the problem comes in if you complain about your undesirable nine to five job or your horrible boss you can’t stand to go work for every day, or any other aspect of this life just not meeting the standards you would like to see it fulfill, this article is for you. Read it once, read it twice, read it until you can get it to your mind that at the end of the day, you are in control of your successes, failures, and everything in-between. My problem does not lie in those who do not go through life trying to achieve extraordinary things, it’s those who complain about their situation, but are doing nothing to improve it.
So, if there is one thing you take away from this article, here it is. Read this closely, read it again and again if you have to. I personally would like to challenge you. Don’t wait for success to find you, go find success and define what that means to you in life. Step out of your comfort zone. Take that chance. Pursuit something YOU are passionate about. Fulfill YOUR dreams. You have one chance to make your thoughts and ideas of what success, happiness, and fulfillment look like come to life. Don’t let it slip by and before you know it you are that person I was talking about in the nursing home wondering what happened to the past 80 years of your life. Also love those you surround yourself with, they are precious cargo in your life. Remember, your legacy cannot have a currency put on it, so make it last. Pursue your dreams, capture that vision, and PUT IT TO ACTION.

Reverse Engineering Taylor Swift’s Startup Business Model
Joey Rideout Security Engineer from Canada. Student of improv, entrepreneurship, and Computer Science. May 17, 2016 It has been said before, but Taylor Swift is a very business-savvy individual. What hasn’t been said is how her early days looked a lot like a startup. And although Swift has been repeatedly praised for her relatable songwriting, her use of social media, and her personal brand, I think it’s important to examine how exactly she does those things so well. In an effort to learn from her successes, I will attempt to reverse engineer the startup that is Taylor Swift. I Knew You Had Hustle When You Walked In Taylor Swift’s early hustle. Swift “worked in a little shed” to record demos of her first songs, not unlike the cliche of startups who began in a garage. She even learned how to play guitar from a computer technician. Her early career featured many failed attempts to convince a record label to invest in her talents before landing a deal. Despite being doubted for her youth, she came to be called “a savvy, no-nonsense careerist” in 2006 when she was only 16. Swift has been, and continues to be, very successful with her entrepreneurial activities. The result? A very successful business model that we stand to learn a lot from. The product? Some incredibly relatable music. But why, exactly, have so many people found it relatable? Taylor-Made Customer Segments A trite piece of advice for entrepreneurs and writers is, of course, to know your audience. Country music wasn’t appealing to young girls at the time, so Swift made that demographic her target audience. Swift saw where her competition was failing in the marketplace, and took advantage of a previously untapped customer base. Now, how does one create relatable music for young girls? Look at what works: chart-topping music tends to be about love, sex, and relationships. What if Swift simply observed the different types of relationships being experienced by her target demographic? “I started developing this really keen sense of observation — of how to watch people and see what they did. From that sense, I was able to write songs about relationships when I was 13 but not in relationships.” — Taylor Swift As a highschooler with a keen eye for observation, Swift got to know her audience extremely well. She found inspiration for her music by looking at her own relationships and observing the relationships of others. Swift began writing music in her freshman year of high school, and proceeded to create a stockpile of lyrics that contributed to her first three albums. Based on those albums, Swift appears to have divided her audience into segments based on their relationship experiences. She then created a compelling value proposition for each of the customer segments she identified. In other words, each song targeted a particular subset of young lovers. Or, should I say, New Romantics? Let’s attempt to reverse engineer the process of creating customer segments based on high school relationships. If I were to enumerate the different types of relationships experienced within my secondary school, it might look something like this: The idealistic fairy-tale romance that you might daydream about. The painful situation where you like someone who does not feel the same way. Being in a relationship with someone who becomes cold and distant. Being in an unstable, on-again off-again relationship. Having to deal with emotional baggage or family issues in a relationship. Being in a toxic or unhealthy relationship. Being cheated on. Being dumped. Reflecting on a past relationship with regret. Moving on from a past relationship and looking forward to the future. Swift wrote songs that each hit one or more of these ten nails right on the head. This varied offering of songs allowed Swift to cultivate an emotional connection with a wide variety of people. Let’s take a look at how Swift’s early songwriting related to the ten situations above, respectively: “Love Story” “You Belong With Me” “The Story of Us” “We Are Never Getting Back Together” “Mine” “I Knew You Were Trouble” “Should’ve Said No” “Picture to Burn” “Back to December” “Tim McGraw” So there you have it: Swift was a young entrepreneur, creating products (songs) for different segments of customers within an audience that she knew very well. A Love Story of Viral Growth “The best people in life are free.” — Taylor Swift, New Romantics When Swift sings that the best people in life are free, she is probably relating to the youthfulness of her audience. I prefer to think that she is talking about her viral growth model. Her initial success is often attributed to her early adoption and skillful use of social media for marketing and distributing her content (versus traditional methods of paid advertising). But one does not simply “use social media”. Which platform you invest your time on is key. “We hang back, it’s all in the timing It’s poker, he can’t see it in my face But I’m about to play my Ace” — Taylor Swift, New Romantics Swift’s timing in the social media space was spot-on. She focused her efforts on emerging social media platforms in order to earn a following where young people’s eyeballs were flocking. Swift joined Twitter in 2008, back when Twitter had roughly a million registered users (compared to over a billion today). Gary Vaynerchuk, the social media entrepreneur who credits his own success to predicting which platforms are winning the public’s attention, joined Twitter just one year earlier in 2007. How does Vaynerchuk make his predictions? By observing people, just like Swift. She jumped on that shift in consumer attention at just the right time, built a following, and rode the wave of publicity that followed. If Swift were starting out today, she would probably invest most of her time in Snapchat or Musical.ly instead of Twitter or Tumblr, because that’s where junior high students’ attention appears to be going. Accidental Tumblr addiction, or calculated hustle? Swift’s content is also highly authentic and engaging. Her frequent direct engagement with followers on social media resonates with her fans. Swift has hustle — she invests her time in social media in order to make as many authentic connections as possible. Her early use of this strategy foreshadowed current social media marketing trends that focus on customer engagement. Swift’s tone and behavior on social media is also known for being local to each platform. Her content on Tumblr, for example, is distinctly Tumblr-ey— its vernacular and sense of humor fit in with the community. Again, Swift likely spent time observing what worked within these communities before joining them. This platform-specific behavior let Swift create consumable content while also adding to the authenticity of her brand. Even now, in 2016, brands are still struggling to create authentic content and engage with customers on emerging platforms. Brand Blood Swift’s brand, which could be summed up as “human and relatable”, ties together her social media presence and relatable music into something recognizable and marketable. Swift’s brand is also maturing and growing appropriately with her audience so that it stays relatable. Her latest album, 1989, is a more mature offering that resonates with university-aged young adults. These are the same people Swift targeted earlier when they were in high school. I am one of those people — I personally relate to her music now as much as I did back then. I expect future offerings from Swift to continue growing with this millennial audience into their late twenties (which Swift is currently experiencing — you go, girl!). This customer-focused approach allows her brand to remain relatable and authentic to her core audience. To quote Swift’s latest music video, “it’s all about the fans”. “It’s really important for me, for my fans to trust me.” — Taylor Swift Perhaps we will see songs about growing older, seeing friends getting married, or maybe even midlife crises. Some prefer to describe Swift’s brand as “nostalgic”, but her nostalgia for her recent past always manages to describe the way my world is today. As a twenty-something T-Swizzle fan, I certainly feel like Swift is eerily talented at narrating my life experiences so far. Here’s hoping that there’s still more relatable content to come. So in addition to being an iconic singer and songwriter, Swift’s story is also an entrepreneur’s wildest dream. Swift’s songs were adopted by her target audience like wildfire due to a combination of innovations that in hindsight create an impressive business model.

26 Ideas 5 Myths you need to focus passion
5 min read @ focus passion When crafting your personal brand you’ll what to focus your passion. Your passion is the main idea you want to share with others. To clarify, for this exercise, we will call your "focus" your “passion.” Your passion could be your first job after university. Or your passion could be your niche as you build you life coaching practice. Also, for small business owners this passion could be your small business. Maybe, your passion is the side hustle you want to become your full time job.
How do I articulate my passion?
What is it you are doing when you are so engaged in the activity you forget about time? BTW, we’ve a builder (expert system of sorts) to help you build your own influential personal brand. You just answer questions, and you get an email with your personal brand content first draft. When will you start building your personal brand? This is the first question in the builder. 1) What are you deeply passionate about and that truly excites you? Click to start building your own influential personal brand. If you love what you do, then you will be able to spend more time and effort to share more of your passion. Have you ever walked into a room and there was someone in the room talking about her passion. She was so infectious with her passion that you started to feel passionate.
That passion shows up online too
We’ve all heard that quote? “If you love your work will never work a day in your life.” I know it’s a tired and used cliche. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Even Gary Vee talked about it: “If you’re truly doing what you love, it won’t feel like you’re actually working…” Gary Vaynerchuk THE TOP 20 PODCASTS FROM THE GARYVEE AUDIO EXPERIENCE Passion is one’s ethos. Often, we hear about the “ethos” of famous athletes. For example, "hard work" is the ethos for LeBron James. Another ethos is, “caring,” for Mother Teresa. When someone shows that passion, whether, for something or just being alive, everyone feels it. I’m often asked, “Warren, what if my passion is trying new things?” My answer, “Live it! and show your passion trying all those new things.”
What if I don’t have a passion? Passion myths explored.
In societies globally, the system is flawed. Let’s explore some myths. 1 Myth: Everyone thinks they should have a passion. Some people don’t have one passion, so that’s okay. 2 Myth: Some people have a passion but don’t think they can make a career out of it. Who said you need to make it your career? My wife loves to teach piano 1 day a week, and that’s okay too. 3 Myth: I’ve too many social pressures like job, career, family, finances, etc., so I don’t have time. Is your passion collect Smurf clothing? How long does it take to check the latest news online every day? 4 Myth: My passion is to go home and drink 4 beers and watch TV. Great, have fun. That isn’t the kind of passion we’re talking about here. 5 Myth: I just don’t like discussing my passion. I just want to keep it to myself. That’s your life. Again in this exercise, we are talking about your personal brand
People feel and remember energy focused on passion
1. Around the world people tell me they want to be remembered and respected? Don’t you? 2. What about your legacy? When you are at the end, what do you want for your legacy? 3. How about today? Don’t we all want reputation that builds trust? 4. An important point is personal branding is consistency. But who knows how to be consistent? 6. When you are passionate it’s easier to be consistent. Every day you have that desire to work on your passion again and again. 7. When you share a clear personal brand, what do you show? Aren’t you are consistently showing your passion? Your passion is part of your origin story. For example, Gary Vaynerchuk talks about how he has entrepreneur DNA in most every keynote he presents.
Questions to start your passion focus
Here are some questions to help you articulate your passion. For some it may be easier to write your passion in action - benefit format. Here is an example. "My passion is teaching in new ways to help my students learn more than ever." 8. Write down your niche / passion / focus. 9. What is your positive intent you share your passion with others? 10. What skills, talents, or gifts make your passion different from others? 11. How do you want to share your different passion with the world? 12. If you were to live your brand by showing your passion, what would you love to be doing? Still not sure? If you are still struggling then go through the following.
Examples to get you started to focus your passion
Below are some highlight ideas, trigger questions, and sample responses to open your mind. As you look at these ask yourself, how you feel they relate to your passion. Here are some highlight ideas. Spark the authentic part of you that has positive intent and gives you energy. 13. What makes you excited to get out of bed every day? 14. TB#13 || Not relevant Today but a good book nonetheless - The 4-hour workweek - Tim Ferriss - Book Review
The book is way older than I thought it was. I picked it up lately when I heard so many good things about it and so I decided to give it a read.
It was when the word Palmreader came multiple times that I got anxious and checked its release date. It was 2007.
The book wasn’t too helpful for me because everything in the book was something that I already knew. I think when he released the book it would have been a monster hit because people back in 2007 people still weren’t that serious about the internet and haven’t yet taken it as a serious marketing tool.
Literally half of the book is full of websites and links which were of no use to me.
At the beginning of the book, he talks about entrepreneurship and using the internet and making work more efficient which I think has become the default.
Everything is easily available on the phone now and people are on WhatsApp these days which has cut back the Email work.
After reading the book I realized we take the functions of WhatsApp way too much for granted.
So I take this book as a historical book as in ho people operated before 2007 and what measures they needed to make their work more efficient.
The book mentions bundles of resources, links and references that could help you in becoming more efficient.
In the end it all about saving your time and letting others do your work.
But in my opinion, if you are an entrepreneur who has just started up and who have to be very careful about where you are spending your bucks, this book is not for you.
I mean I don’t think I can hire someone to be my virtual assistant to reply to all my mails and pay them 10$ per hour.
He says that let Indians and Chinese handle your menial tasks but being an Indian myself that defeats the purpose.
The book again is very American centric so if you are an entrepreneur in any other country, I reckon the same methods will work for you.
Tim Ferris believes in the automation of life and liberating yourself from doing menial tasks so that you can concentrate more on the jobs which are your priority.
He says that if there are tasks which you are doing repeatedly and does not require you to do anything new or learn anything new, then employ someone else to do it because it is just killing your time. That is true.
Talking about priorities several times he mentions about the Pareto Principle called 80/20 where 80% of your results come from the 20% of things you do. The principle was made famous by the bestselling book by renowned author Robert Koch with the name 80/20 principle. Ferris recommends reading it and I agree with him.
He also talks about setting goals and deadlines for the things that you want to achieve because it is this and nothing else which will give you a boost to do things faster and make you feel like you are working towards something.
He tells you that he has left several jobs and he does that on purpose because after he learns something at a job he gets bored and leaves to get another job to learn more.
On one hand this hustling thing sounds interesting but on the other hand, it is a terrible time waster and in the name of experience, you will end up with nothing.
There are chances that you will become successful following his methods but there is no guarantee that you definitely becoming successful just because things happened in his favour.
Again, it is a book that is a dream book for someone who does not want to work hard and concentrate on finding the shortcuts. But any shortcut that you will find will have a cost to pay.
By the time he finished the book he was already earning a lot of money and that is where the problem comes in.
He talks about travel like it is something that everyone should do and everyone loves to do.
Like me, I don’t like to travel and I don’t know how that advice is useful to me. That was some cruel generalization on his part.
When he talks about travel he gives you calculations of how cheap it is for a single person to travel in the world. Again his costing is in dollars and converting that it would cost a person from another country a lot. He makes it sound easier than it actually is. I tried calculating and converted them to my currency but the figures that came blew my mind
The book is not completely outdated.
The good things he talks about in the book are traits which I have seen top CEOs following in their lives, like not wasting time on meetings that do not bring the desired results. People at the top are always very careful about where they are wasting their time.
Time management is something he talks in length and I agree with him there. You cannot waste your time doing things that do not bring you a result.
Stop meeting people who will bring negativity to you and stop meeting people with whom you are just killing your time.
Time is the resource which unlike money is not something you can buy and regain. If it's lost, then it's lost.
I read the first half voraciously because there were few things I enjoyed reading, although I knew all of it being a sucker for self-help books, as it is always beneficial to revise those things.
I had to skip most of the second half because it was all about resources which I was not going to use and the testimonials of how his methods worked for other people which was just him promoting himself.
I don’t know whether I got an original version or whether there is an updated version too but I would prefer to listen to his podcasts, which by the way at the top in the podcasting world, rather than read this book.
Skip this book if you listen to his podcasts and had already listened to Gary Vaynerchuk and have also read a myriad of books on the same topic before.
