The annual Conference of House Leaders has come, and that means the Black Eagles get to go on vacation for a week while Edelgard does important house leader things in an undisclosed location. Unfortunately, Hubert is in charge of choosing the lodgings. And while the house he booked on Craigslist is probably just a normal mansion, if a creepy one, the remaining students begin to suspect they're not going to survive until the end of the week. But hey; at least the nightly rate is cheap!

This is the Black Eagles' entry for the Garreg Mach Horror Film Festival, inspired by haunted houses and modern-day slashers.

from March of the Death Knight, the first fic in the Garreg Mach Horror Film Festival:

A ray of sunlight casts its glow onto Bernadetta’s eyelids, and slowly, she awakens. Sunlight. Daylight. She’s survived the night. The tension she’s been carrying in her shoulders since boarding the bus finally loosens up, her heart surging in relief. She’s safe now, at least for the next twelve hours, give or take. It’s a silly thing to believe, given the truths she knows about the world thanks to her time in the Officer’s Academy, but she can’t help but shake it: the world is far less terrifying in broad daylight.

and then as a bonus, from Four Crooked Branches:

“Be honest with me,” she said, just above the murmur of the engine. “Did you kill him?” “What?” Madis exclaimed. “Viola, no! I��m not like the rest of you.” His venom bounced off of her like condensation on her hydrophobic beakers—she’d heard enough of it since that boy was born. “That’s not why I want you to come back. I can explain when you’re here, but…” Now it was his turn to lower his voice. “Don’t tell Mikhail. Or Jesper. I’m meeting with a lawyer to finalize everything, and I can’t have those two fucking everything up again.” “A lawyer,” Viola mused, and bit back a chuckle. No, Madis was not like the rest of them. Straight-laced, and law-abiding. In her opinion, that was much worse. She would have killed Father if she’d wanted his fortune, like she knew Madis had. Still, it wasn’t like the boy was a coward; he had to have done something. Father wouldn’t have left this world of his own accord; he’d been clinging to life by the fingernails for quite some time now.

i wish the Crimson Flower route was longer <3 god forbid women do anything. there are a lot of support convos i wish had gone into more depth too like idk ANY of Felix's but like whatever HFGHDBF

Hubert harvested Linhardt's gender while he was sleeping and that's why Linhardt has No Gender and the rest of the Black Eagles have so many.

i also really like the headcanon of Byleth being the Most college professor ever like. that is real and true and i love the idea of them grading papers while their students start a war
