Bicolored Striped Sweat Bee (Agapostemon virescens) in my backyard this month. Agapostemon Bees make their nests in the ground, usually nesting alone. This particular species is one of several in North America which occasionally nests together with several other females, using the same entrance (which often looks similar to low ant mound).
