high fantasy has never really clicked with me which is funny because i really love lord of the rings which is kind of the basis for a significant proportion of the genre but as a whole i just find it so uninteresting. . . i think i just really strongly associate it with the wealth of very mediocre fantasy for middle aged women who make liking books more than people their entire personality. and i KNOW there is good fantasy out there. but i have not looked for it because i do not care

idk who needs to hear this but here's my button-making tip of the day

mylars: STINKY. bastards. evil. duplicitous. they build up static and never let it go, they slide all over the place, you think you only have one but it's still secretly 2 stuck together, they get misaligned no matter how carefully you place them and then crimp wrong and then your button is fucked up. they were my #1 cause of button failure in the year-ish i've been using a button press. garbageboy stinkman belongs in the toilet.

the answer: SINGLE SIDED LAMINATE, BABEY!!! you can hand-lay it over a printed sheet. it comes in clear, it comes in many kinds of sparkle and dazzle and so on. i use my die cutter to achieve these lovely circles but obviously, you could use scissors too. it's waterproof, it's attractive, it crimps the way it's supposed to without having to deal with the slidey sandwich static problems, i've had far fewer button failures with this method. i highly recommend this in combination with Epson's "presentation paper," which is really lightweight and durable.

lmao as both an ofmd fan and one piece enjoyer it often tickles me that the two series have blackbeards that are on complete opposite ends of the scale from garbageboy stinkman belongs in the trash to absolute babygirl.

but yeah speculating about justifications for magical bullshit in a world with giants and merpeople and furries as distinct races is much less alarming than the alternative.

one of my irl friends is going thru a one piece phase so I've heard a lot about it unfortunately the only thing I remember is that sanji is probably a tumblr sexyman by now and his eyebrows flip. also there's a time skip and someone gets a giant ridiculous robot body in the time skip. I don't think they've mentioned one piece!blackbeard once.

but yeah background curse of the our flag fan is suddenly every other interpretation of blackbeard just makes you go "this sucks who did this to him where babygirl"
