Lord Ganesha | Remover of Obstacles

Lord Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka, or Pillaiyar, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. Hi, I'm apologize for lately reply to your question.

Before I will share my opinion about this, let me say about my disclaimer and intention on this post.

The first it all, I'm not an Indian, Guru, or person who is born in Hinduism. I am a Thai-Chinese-Laotian who is born in Thailand that interest in witchcraft, spirituality, mythology, folklore and mysterious or ghost story. And I am a spiritual but not religion (SBNR) person, thus, I do respect Hindu deities is my spiritual guides in my spiritual journal.

Secondly, this my opinion is my experience and my belief only, you should be using your thoughtful very much while you read my opinion. This post is not meaning guarantee that is true.

And the lastly, my intention is not to discredit or destroy other beliefs, and I have something maybe mistakes. I am apologized for this, I will say as I know. And you should be do research more.

In the first time that I know about them, they will do something to you feel to notice about them such as sending their signature symbol in your dream or in while you are doing astral project, some good idea come in your thinking in moment, or other that they can do. As me, I met them in my dream while I was doing lucid dream in the first time that I have come back to witchcraft and spirituality way after I got healed my trauma mental by spirit with Lord Ganesha and Lord Brahma. I saw Lord Ganesh has been appeared as an elephant has broken single tusk with Lord Brahma has been appeared as the olden Brahmin, in later Lady Saraswati has been appeared as book in giant lotus or an adult woman is teacher. Meanwhile i was trying to study about divination and connected them by oracle cards deck is Tibetan theme (This oracle cards deck is oldest of divination tools in my home, LOL) And Tarot deck is Rider-Waite. I did try do connect them until in finally, they connected to me via Tarot. It makes me accepted them as spiritual guides in my spiritual journey since a few years ago, and I have to do research internet and ask or read from someone who is guru in Hinduism for their information, how to Hindu worship them, their mantras for praying, and their special occasional or festivals. And also, I am always connecting with them for they give comment my offerings after I did offer things in their festivals by via divination tools too. But in some time, I will pray them or connect with them by divination tools when I feel get anxiety or blocked ideas for suggestion to me. If that problem, I cannot handle by myself.

I'm always offering for Lord Ganesh are milk and water in normal day, because I don't have time enough to praying him. But in special occasional as Ganesh Chaturthi's festival, I did offer him by his foods are milk, water, butter, yogurt, sugar cane juice, honey, banana, apple, orange and cereals. And also, I did create his small statue for 9 of days and send him back to his home by float him in the last day. For other deities as Lady Saraswati, I am often to do pray her when I need to suggestion about study tips or art tips. She is often giving a suggestion by via divination tools, some cool ideas flashlights to me while I'm thinking, in dream or in astral projection. And her festival is "Vasant Panchami", I am always offering foods as Lord Ganesh, but I am always to offer stationeries, laptop, art supplies, and divination tools too. However, I am always praying to Lord Ganesh before I will pray other deities. Because Lord Ganesh is the deity of removing obstacles and new beginnings of all, so, many ppl who is Hindu or someone is Hindu deity's worshiper are always praying him. In addition, I am usually drawing them for I do worship them in my personal space and motivation when I am studying too. But whatever, I will not offer with them by meats, bloods, alcohol drinking, and illegal things.

I'm often cleaning and organizing on my desk and in my room in every I have a free time, because it can help me to be more productive for some new ideas and my room is free from dirty. And also, I'm usually to change water in glasses, buy a new box of milk, and changed water in vase at altar meanwhile I am turning mantra on YouTube too. Because they have blessed me and my family to be lucky. (In my home altar is not only Hindu deities, but we also have Chinese deity as Lady Kuan Yin and many of Buddha Image too.). However, I will not forget cleansing my divination tools and some crystals, if I have free time too. And I am always taking a shower in after waking up and going to the bed in everytime. In addition, before I come in my home, I will wash my feet and wash my face too. Because my family always tell me that "It help to clean our face and feet, it can cleanse from something maybe negative or evil spirit followed us in during we are traveling." Thus, I am always do it. Oh, I am closely to forget something! Don't be forget to do meditation until it will be calm down too.

For study tips, I am accepting that since I was a student at primary school until I am a final university student in now. I am studying in my primary school and middle only, because my family has not money enough to me study at any academic for helping exercise subjects such as math, science, English, or other. But I did much homework from school with researching by internet when I was a middle school and I had fortunately when I was a high school, I had gotten studying at university in pre-degree system too. So, I did homework from high school and do exercise for final exam in university until I was graduated from high school and become to full uni student. Cause, I got trauma mental from school so long time. It makes I don't believe them and ignore studying from university, but I have a lucky again that I got heal from my spirit with Lord Ganesh and his family until I'm ok now. And Lady Saraswati tells me about study tip a little when I study at home such as allowed to I'm turning video about study with me or pomodoro on YouTube, or do meditation before study. For Lord Ganesh tells me about how to do manifest for my goal, how to do accept my mistake or failure for do it in correct, and I do respectful owner in my university when I go for do exam, or taking care myself when I am during in time of the month. However, they're always tell my that "Focusing and understanding about content by using critical thinking, it is very important. For stationary or tools that is the most expensive or the best. It is just ingredients to help you in study is better up."

And the lastly my opinion, they're always tell me that "You just have believe in yourself that 'I can do it.' when you are studying or doing something is handling by yourself, but if something you cannot do by yourself in final. Just let it go and waiting for a new thing is better." And them mentioned to my craft that "When you are doing ceremony or worshipping is still holy or not, It is upon yourself that how are your intention. If you use it for in good way, it becomes to be your blessing. But if you use it for in bad way, it becomes to be your curse instead." So, my witchcraft or spiritual stories might be likes as normal life that is none special thing.

And these are my opinion for about them that I got experience with them, it is long text post so much. Chapter 205: I want to be hot like her when I grow up + Linguistics, Hindu deities and comparative mythology

This week’s chapter was packed with absolute nerdery.

Me reading the chapter notes like:

The good news is... I LOVE linguistics, understanding how language can shape reality, and I LOVE Ganesha. 

Let’s start with Ganesha’s symbolism in this week’s chapter because I believe language feeds into the idea behind its ability as a “curse” to “use concepts against cursed techniques”.

Ganesha

If you haven’t already, meet Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles:

Whose corrupted spiritual/archetypal energy made a cameo as a curse in this week’s chapter...

I’ll let you Google Ganesha to get more specific details on why he’s a beloved deity. For now, I’ll say that I’ve been blessed with spiritual visions from him. 

True story.

So needless to say I have a lot of reverence for Ganesha.

But, in short... Ganesha is known as the remover of obstacles. So whenever someone is in need of obstacles being removed from their path, praying to Ganesha (archetypal energy) helps.

This of course, implies that the archetypal energy will respond in kind to prayer (intention), and that through its divine status as a “God,” Ganesha can alter and shape fate so as to remove obstacles from one’s path.

But changing fate would make absolutely no difference if the obstacle happens to be a mental barrier. Kind of like how Megumi kept playing small early on in JJK as a result of his own mental barriers.

So I got to thinking about how rather than removing obstacles externally, Ganesha can also help with removing psychological and emotional obstacles, which would inevitably imply that looking at one’s psychology or mental chatter is how Ganesha can help remove obstacles. 

And since we’re looking at the landscape of the mind, or mental chatter, then linguistics is the right lens through which to look at Ganesha’s ability to remove obstacles. In other words, this becomes an exploration of how one’s Psychology shapes outer reality...

Makes sense, right?

So to me it made sense that the semantic and pragmatic meaning of words would be brought up in this week’s chapter in connection to Ganesha.

In semantics, we’re looking at the meaning of words, whereas pragmatics looks at the meaning of words in context. 

In this chapter, the word in question was “mass”.

Mass is the quantity of matter in a physical body. It is also a measure of the body's inertia, the resistance to acceleration when a net force is applied. An object's mass also determines the strength of its gravitational attraction to other bodies.

Basically, semantically and pragmatically, Yuki is just way too cool for Kenny and so the concept of her Cursed Technique overwhelmed evil Ganesha.

Almost like saying that she packed the Sun’s power into her kick and such a power could not be contained or explained by a concept. More on this in a bit...

Did I need to write all of that about Ganesha to arrive at this conclusion? Absolutely not. But I love Ganesha, linguistics, mythology and symbol analyses so...

Anyways... if anyone else is smart enough to understand this linguistic trick that Gege played on us, please enlighten us. Sometimes Gege is too technical and my brain switches off if the technicalities don’t involve Psycheology.

Other than that I also thought it was cool to see Ganesha in this week's chapter for a couple of reasons...

1. I love the idea that Gege is introducing Hindu deities into JJK seeing as JJK is an exploration of religious themes and has featured Shinto, Buddhist and Judeo-Christian symbols thus far.

I’m really curious to find whether Gege will address the existence of a higher intelligence (or God) underscoring reality at one point or another.

2. Initially I was sad that Ganesha would be depicted as a curse since, as I mentioned, I have deep reverence for him. But on second thought, I like that Gege presented him as a “divine” curse because it opens the door to the idea that spiritual energy can become corrupted.

This itself is a very Jungian take on the issue since Jung argued that spiritual wholeness required both light and darkness. In other words, for every Christ-like figure, you needed an Anti-Christ figure.

I’ll be exploring this idea in more detail in the coming weeks...

Garuda

Now, the other mythological figure from Hindu lore that was featured in this week’s chapter was Garuda--known in Japanese Buddhism as Karura.

Garuda is known as a destroyer of sin and as Vishnu’s vehicle in Hindu mythology. Now, Vishnu is known as “the preserver” and was known as a solar deity (remember that reference to Yuki’s Cursed Technique being related to the Sun and stars?).

So what I loved here was seeing how Yuki’s power is so immense that it cannot be contained in a “concept”--in other words, there is no words to describe her power.

There’s also something so interesting here about how Garuda serves as a vehicle for Vishnu who preserves the order of the material universe. In this case think of how the planets in the solar system all revolve around the Sun’s gravitational force.

More linguistics nerdery: Geto and oil

I noticed last chapter that in the title “oil” referred to Kenny, whereas blood referred to Choso.

So it, of course, caught my interest that Gege brought up semantics and pragmatics in a chapter titled “star and oil” and then went ahead and got meta on the whole thing by using the kanji for Geto’s name.

Talk about being a linguistics nerd. I LOVE IT.

Semantically, oil is defined as:

1. noun--a viscous liquid derived from petroleum, especially for use as a fuel or lubricant.

2. verb--lubricate, coat, or impregnate with oil. supply with oil as fuel.

Pragmatically, or in context, I love the implication that Geto’s consciousness is still there. I know I’m super late to the party about Geto’s consciousness still being there, but Geto isn’t a character I’ve focused on a whole lot.

Day 9 of Australia vacation: driving north and then east; Day 10 (part 1): tasting bubblies

Day 9 was basically a day of scenic driving with a nice beach walk interlude and wildlife in the evening.

After eating breakfast at the restaurant (delicious, but small portions and not enough carbs) and then supplementing it with granola at the cottage, we gave carrots to the horses, checked out, and started driving north along the coast. It was beautiful! After a lunch stop in St. Helens (Wife got some really excellent, fresh fish & chips), we went to Humbug Point Nature Recreation Area, parked near Dora Point, and took a bit of a walk along the beach there--a few minutes in one direction alongside some weirdly dead-looking trees, and then we turned back and went the other way, clambering over rocks and admiring the views. There was colorful lichen on the boulders, and lots of people were fishing from the beach. We also saw some dead blue bottle jellyfish on the beach (small ones), and Wife managed to catch a little crab to say hello to before releasing it back into the sand. From the car I spotted hundreds of black swans and also an Australian pelican!

Then we drove inland through some rainy forests (which may have also been temperate rainforests!). We stopped at Pyengana Dairy, a farm that makes cheese, and eventually arrived in Launceston, where we ate at a Malaysian restaurant and picked up groceries. We then drove out to an exurb to the house we were renting for the night. The final part of the drive, which we did at sunset, was about a kilometer on an unpaved road surrounded by wallabies (and of course the raucous sounds of the laughing kookaburras!).

The house was spacious, oddly decorated (we spotted statues of Ganesha and Buddha, a prayer mat, and lots of breakable decorations), and inadequately supplied with linens. The beds were made with a bottom sheet but no top sheet; one also lacked a blanket. We eventually found more sheets and blankets--just about enough--but there were also insufficient towels. Luckily the hosts brought us additional towels when we complained (3 bath towels for 4 people is not enough! but at least there were hand towels). The house was also pretty recently built, but somehow a bit flimsy.

It was very dark there, and I was so tired that I went to bed rather earlier than usual. It was mostly quiet, though I could hear every step the others took inside the house. But in the middle of the night I was woken more than once by what sounded sort of like snarling, fighting cats. I have only just realised that they must have been Tasmanian devils! I wish we'd seen one.

Day 10

I did a little bit of birdwatching from the deck in the morning before we left, but didn't see anything new. We then drove to a winery that specialises in sparkling wines and did a tasting. We sat on a beautiful patio with a fantastic view, and it was a sunny day with fluffy white clouds, so it was very scenic. And we spotted a wedge-tailed eagle soaring overhead!

Then we drove to Scottsdale and checked into a heritage B&B before being picked up by our guide for a wildlife and scenery tour for the rest of the day; I'll write about that in the next installment.
