Megújulás

Akik követnek minket, egy ideje felfedezhettek különféle változásokat. Ám mi is ez, és még mi várható? Rögvest elárulom!

A világ változik, és mi is egy fenntartható fejlődés hívei vagyunk! Folyamatosan tanulunk, változunk, újítunk mindenben, amiben csak lehetséges, hisz ami egykor csak néhány lelkes ember összefogása volt, -sok hibával és kevés tapasztalattal-  az mostanra szerzett egy kis gyakorlatot és figyelmet. Épp ezért roppant mód időszerű, hogy a kezdő lépések szintjén túlmutassunk!

Egy ideig elég nagy  csend volt a házunk tájékán, de mint tudjuk, ez nem feltétlenül jelenti azt, hogy vége, ennyi volt! Inkább olyan csend ez, mint amikor a cosplayer reggel bevonul az öltözőbe, hogy akár órákig nem is hallasz felőle, de később átváltozva felbukkan. Vagy ha napokig hírét se hallod, aztán hirtelen megjelenik az új, menő cosplay darabbal. Mi félkészen rongyoltunk ki az öltözőből, mivel a látványosabb kiegészítőinket már csak azon kívül tudjuk felvenni! 😉

Szóval mi folyik itt?

Az új logónk Macskart – Miyaou munkája!

Egyik legszembetűnőbb változásunk a logó. Az új LDP logót Macskart – Miyaou nagyszerű munkájának köszönhetjük, aki sokat segített döntésképtelen csapatunknak, hogy egy profi, mégis művészi logóval folytathassuk munkásságunkat!

Ezt követte némi egyéb változás. Nem csak logót kellett váltanunk, hanem már-már designt is. Ezért cseréltük le a weboldalunk külsejét, ami elsősorban Galaxina keze munkája Catleen hathatós segítségével, mert az ő támogatását mindig élvezzük! 🙂

Elindult a Facebook oldalunk galériájának megformálása is, avagy egy új borítót kap mindegyik galéria, ami valóban elég macerás munka, hiszen mindig a galéria tartalmából kell válogatnunk. A borítókon feltüntetjük a rendezvény nevét, dátumát és a fotós nevét is. Több galériában segítőink is voltak, akiket a leírásban találhattok meg! A fotográfus csupán azért került kiemelésre, mert ha egy rendezvényen képet készít rólad, remélhetőleg ő lesz az, aki a legjobban megmarad az emlékezetedben, és nem pedig a grafikus, aki utólag dolgozik a képeken. Persze az ő munkája is nagyon fontos! Ez véleményünk szerint megkönnyítheti a con utáni képvadászatot, ezért érdemes megjegyezni, melyik munkatárs nyomta meg azt a bizonyos gombot, amikor feléd fordította a küty��jét.

Az új logó immáron terítőinket is díszíti, így a helyszínen messziről kiszúrhatjátok a fehér alapon bordó kis madárkát, aki az LDP felirat felett száll!

Emellett megújult a felszerelésünk is, vagyis leginkább Atisé. Nem csak új, jobb fényképezőgépet sikerült beszereznie, hanem mindenféle csodaobjektíveket, amikkel fantasztikus képeket sikerült lőnie!

Hamarosan elkészül első Mondo-videónk is, amin Kígyó dolgozik, és bár sajnos, a mindennapi élet néha közbeszól az aktív munkába, remélhetőleg hamarosan elénk tárul a felvétel! Addig is segítsetek együtt elátkozni Murphy-t! 🙂

Ami ugyan kívülről nem látszik, de némileg frissült a vezetőség is. Galaxina maradt ugyan a kapitányunk, ám elsőtisztje, azaz jobbkeze Vixen lett, másodtisztje, balkeze pedig Maci. Az új csapattagok jelentkezését is ezentúl ők bonyolítják le, ezért ha valaki szeretne a csapat részévé válni, őket keresse fel!

Bár mostanság sajnos sokan közülünk nem tudnak igazán aktívak lenni, mert vizsgákra, érettségire, államvizsgára készülnek, reméljük, hamarosan ismét olvashatjátok a már megismert tagjaink kiváló írásait és gyűjtőmunkáit! Addig pedig élvezzétek Heniko alkotásait, aki nagyon belelendült a zöldhátteres fotók kidolgozásába, ezáltal szépen csökkentve az elmaradások mennyiségét! Ő így lelkesíti a csapatot, és egyben energiát is ad a pótlásra, és csodálatos kreativitásával örvendeztet meg bennünket!

Végül a belső megújulás itt nem ért véget. Folyamatosan dolgozunk még sok egyéb irányban is! 🙂

És mi várható még?

Például további dizájnolások. Rengeteg ötletünk van, csak jussunk el a megvalósításig!

Az elmaradások pótlása. Tudjuk, hogy sok van még hátra. Tudjuk, hogy rengeteg fotózással és képpel tartozunk még. Egyik sincs elfelejtve, és minket is zavar ez az elmaradás. Ám attól, hogy nagyon akarjuk, időnk még nem lesz több, és nem csak rajtunk múlik. Sok képet még mi sem kaptunk meg, de igyekszünk szépen lassan pótolni mindent! Igen, azt is! Meg a másikat is! De szépen sorjában!

Szeretném feléleszteni a cikkek írását is. Az anyagismeret rovatunk bővítésére nagy szükség lesz még. Hamarosan végre felkerül oda néhány írás, hisz ezek hatalmas segítséget nyújthatnak más cosplayeseknek! Ugyanígy szeretnénk további tutorialokkal, tippekkel és trükkökkel bővíteni a listánkat!

Szeretnénk kiállni minél inkább a Cosplay Mindenkié! elv mellett, s néhány fontos, egyéb témáról is írni és beszélni! Olyan tabukról, mint például a szexuális zaklatás a cosplay világában és a conokon. A cosplayes hostesskedés, vagy épp a békés egymás mellett élés.

Időnként azért muszáj saját fotózásokat is rendeznünk újra meg újra, mert ekkor tudnak leginkább az újabb csapattagok is tanulni, gyakorolni, a régiekkel pedig összeszokni munka közben. Így amikor majd más cosplayesek fotózására kerül sor, fotósként és segítőként is bárki helyt tudjon állni, minél hatékonyabban dolgozni,  és képesek legyünk mindenkiből kihozni a maximumot! 

Csapatként és egyénileg, továbbra is támogatunk sok-sok hasonlóan fontos és hasznos kezdeményezést, amely valamilyen úton-módon építi és fejlődésre bírja a közösséget, mint például a Timepass Meetup, a Hungarian Cospix Community, a Barcraft Cosplay Galéria bővítése, a Watchaholics és a MondoCon!

Hogyan segíthetsz?

Persze, a segítség nekünk is jól jön. Az anyagit sem szoktuk megvetni, hiszen nem olcsó a fejlesztés és bővítés. Mindezt nagyrészt a saját zsebünkből álljuk. Ám sokkal fontosabb számunkra a türelem, a megértés és a lelkesítés! Tapasztalatból tudom, hogy csapatunkra igen jó hatással van minden pozitív visszajelzés, örvendezés, dicséret, megosztás, vagy bármi olyan jel, amitől úgy érezzük, jó úton járunk, és sokaknak tetszik a munkánk! Még lelkesebben kezdünk bele a következőbe, mert várjuk, hogy megmutathassuk Nektek, és még több embernek szerezzünk vele örömet!

Emellett ha tudnál, és szeretnél, akár csapattagként is segíthetsz nekünk! A jelentkezés hozzánk folyamatosan lehetséges! Csakis egy kérésünk van minden új taghoz: találd meg a helyed a csapatban, hogy milyen területen lelnéd örömed a közös munkában! Mert ha jól érzed magad, azzal mindenki csak nyerhet!

Annon-Guy: Sonic - As for Galaxina, I can imagine her with a metal staff to fight Badniks and Metarex with, fighting physically like Knuckles and Rouge with plant manipulation and dodge mechanics like the Werehog (although she needs rings to survive as she has no HP Meter). So her stages would have more focus on combat. She can also jump high and float down too. Galaxina's level up items can be additional moves and powers for her staff. She would still need to outsmart bosses. What do you think?

You mention a metal staff and power ups for it and I'm getting Star Fox Adventures vibes and I kind of like that. Sonic Games generally have auto-aim mechanics, either as standard or through unlock that help you with fights. I think it would be interesting if, like Krystal's staff in Star Fox Adventures, Galaxina could have ranged attacks but you'd have to aim them yourself instead of having homing attacks. If the gameplay is more combat based, will it be styled more after Sonic levels, with Galaxina having to reach the goal quickly, Tails levels, where getting combos increases your score, or Knuckles levels where you have to collect items to complete the objective?

One might assume I’m talking about 1987’s…

So welcome back to another QUESTIONS WITH RIOT! 

So here is a nice big post for you to read, see it on my tumblr page and the facebook group and maybe in a new book someday.

I will be reaching out to B movie directors and actors in the next week or so with a handful of (often similar questions) .

They are not real time interveiws , I just sent them the questions and they msgd me back. Because they are awesome people. 

Todays guest that I suckered in to using their precious time to answer my questions for b movie film makers is Richard Mogg a fim maker from Vancouver. Richard chilled us with the Massage Parlour of Death! As well as hit us right in the Easter time nightmare of EASTER BUNNY BLOODBATH which just recently released a sequel. Riot at the Movies folks will remember BIGFOOT ATE MY BOYFRIEND that played on the first ever Terrible Two Day best a few years ago. On top of all that he is a writer of a few of the most detailed go to books on the genre of shot on video and low budget underground film makers.

Lets get to the questions

ADAM RIOT : SO RICHARD, IF YOU WERE GIVEN A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR BUDGET WHAT WOULD YOU DO?  GO CRAZY? 

Mogg: To be honest, I'd split it - but only half of what you're thinking.  I'd take half and make THE ULTIMATE sci-fi Extravaganza!  Then I'd make a whole bunch of small independent features.  So yes, I'd make my GALAXINA but with a bunch of cheese to go with it. 

Adam Riot: HOW OFTEN HAVE YOU WRITTEN SOMETHING AND SAID "OH THAT'S SO BAD, BUT I'M KEEPING IT IN"? 

Mogg:  Actually never... unless it overwhelmingly sucks.  I've been writing scripts long enough to know you can write unlimited, but it's smarter to write what you can actually do.  So write ambitiously but never against your vision.  One time I thought to not include something, but after we shot the film, I was able to edit back in my original idea... so first impulses are usually the right impulses.

 Adam Riot: WE DO TEND TO DOUBT OUTSELVES TOO MUCH. OF ALL THE MOVIES YOU HAVE MADE WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE?  FROM EXPERIENCE OR FINISHED PROJECT, WHAT MADE IT YOUR FAVORITE? 

Mogg: My favorite film that I've done is BIGFOOT ATE MY BOYFRIEND, which isn't gory at all but heavy in the awkward comedy I enjoy.  But the real reason it's my favorite is that everything seemed to come together.  It was the first time my vision matched execution, and the final product was as good/better than I had hoped.  BIGFOOT was my 5th feature film, so it took that many tries to get things right - plus I had my all-star cast.

Adam Riot: WE ALL LOVED IT HERE. 

HAVE YOU MADE FILMS THAT YOU HAVE NOT SHOWN TO THE WORLD THAT YOU JUST DIDN'T LIKE SO YOU HID IT AWAY? 

Mogg:  There are films I've done that haven't been released yet, but that doesn't have anything to do with hiding them.  Sometimes it seems that opportunities come up and you have to be ready to jump in... my 3rd feature film was shot just as 2013 rang in, but that was the year I found out we were having our first baby.  So after quickly moving and getting our lives set straight, I had an empty bedroom while we anticipated the baby's arrival.  But did I waste the opportunity of an empty bedroom?  Heck no, so I quickly shot MASSAGE PARLOR OF DEATH using the bedroom as a massage parlor.  So MASSAGE took the place of that 3rd film I shot (which hasn't been released), but that's the way life happens sometimes.  One day I'll release everything but timing and momentum occasionally get in the way.  I still have 3 films in the can yet to be released: HOT CHICKS BLAST URANUS, DEATH RIDES OF DEATH (formerly ROLLERCOASTER KICKBACK) and my "exotic" picture JOHNNY GLOBBER.

Adam Riot: I AM ALMOST SCARED BY THOSE TITLES BUT CURIOUS AS WELL. AND LAUGHING THE MASSAGE PARLOR BECAME A BABY ROOM.

 WHAT MOVIES IN A MICRO BUDGET GENRE HAVE IMPRESSED YOU RECENTLY? 

Mogg: You know, I'm so obsessed with watching older films to see their overall genre evolutions that I don't get to see many "newer" films.  Drew Marvick's POOL PARTY MASSACRE was a favorite, as was 2019's MORBID STORIES.  I recently caught Dave Castiglione's rerelease of DEEP UNDEAD and it's a knockout with some amazing underwater photography - stuff you just don't see in a lot of micro budget flicks.  And that's the great thing about lower budgeted stuff... it's made from the heart using igneous techniques rather than boatloads of money.

Adam Riot: WHAT MAKES YOU LOSE YOUR LOVE FOR INDEPENDENT FILMS, THE PEOPLE?  THE MONEY?  THE RESPONSE FROM FRIENDS OR BUYERS?  HOW DO YOU OVERCOME IT? 

Mogg: Wow, LOSE my love?  That's a tricky question.  I think there are personal turn-offs that might not let me get into a film, but the filmmaking spirit never leaves.  Yeah sometimes the people involved are only out to "get rich quick" can be trying, or rip off artists who turn out flicks every week with no investment in their content... that's a turn off.  I don't personally enjoy mean-spiritedness in movies, which is why all RickMoe titles are lighthearted and silly.  But as a pure business, I think basic indifference and self-righteousness in people infront and behind the camera can really effect the product.  But that's true of any business really...  

Adam Riot: WE ALL KNOW THERE NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING MORE THAN MONEY. YOU HAVE BEEN MAKING WITH A LOT OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE, HOW DO YOU FEEL FRIENDSHIP IN THE INDEPENDENT FILM WORLD IS IMPORTANT AND HOW HARD WOULD IT BE WITHOUT CLOSE FRIENDS? 

Mogg: Great question.  Close relationships and treating people with respect is everything.  Acknowledging that everyone counts and their efforts are never taken for granted is key to longevity and happiness in this business.  It's true, in independent filmmaking many (perhaps all!) people involved in making films don't get paid financially... maybe they do it for a credit or recognition or even just to have fun, and we as the audience need to know that people really do put their blood, sweat and tears into these movies.  Sure there are straight up jerks running around with a camera, but when you start seeing the same people out there having fun and KEEP TRYING, you really get to feel that they're being honest with the audience.  Making movies IS fun - even when you're against problems - but a positive, uplifting leader can make the world of difference.  And I think that positivity can draw others together.  So making close friendships is really the sign that you're doing things right.

Adam Riot: WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE STREAMING SERVICES, DIRECT DOWNLOAD, TUBITV THAT KIND OF THING?  

Mogg: ANY OPINION? Well I'm trying it now for the first time with EASTER BUNNY BLOODBATH 2: NO MORE TEARS.  I went thing route (direct streaming through Vimeo) because I needed to have quick access for viewers before Easter.  But also because of this damn coronavirus pandemic.  So being able to have audiences access something instantly without waiting for physical mail was very important.  But in general, I'm a physical media type of person.  I WANT a VHS/DVD/BLU copy on the shelf to look at, admire, hold.  I don't think I'll ever get away from that need to hold a film... because when everything is digital, it almost feels like it doesn't exist.  Delete and it's gone forever!

Mogg: 100% our Federal Bigfoot Investigator John Saurius (played by the incredible Kirk Munaweera) is a character I'd bring back for EVERY film.  He's so applicable to any story, and he carries a comical vengeance (his dick was torn off by Bigfoot).  But I'd like to see him lead a film completely too... he sorta does with EASTER BUNNY BLOODBATH 2: NO MORE TEARS, but I'd like to bring him in in a bigger way for our upcoming Noir picture.

 YOU HAVE WRITTEN SEVERAL BOOKS ON THE SHOT ON VIDEO GENRE, ONE THAT'S NOW BASICALLY THE GO TO ENCYCLOPEDIA FOR THE GENRE AND ON THE TWISTED HORROR LOVE FOR CHRISTMAS.  IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE ON THE DRAWING BOARD/TYPING BOARD? 

Mogg: YES!  And thank you for asking!  I learned a lot writing "ANALOG NIGHTMARES" and even more with "GIFTWRAPPED & GUTTED" and the door is always open for another... maybe even a revisit.  But the next writing project excitedly being discussed is turning some of my own films into novels.  And not just the movies written as stories... but actual novels based on the ORIGINAL SCRIPTS of the films we've made, including much more graphic ideas.  For example, sex scenes were originally written in our early films that (of course) our actors weren't too interested in performing for no money... but NOW!  Now we can really write in detail the spicy hot sex always intended!  And same goes for the gore! 

Adam Riot: EASTER BUNNY BLOODBATH 2: NO MORE TEARS IS ONLINE NOW AND ITS A VERSUS TITLE.  TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE MOVIE AND TELL ME WHAT VERSUS TYPE MOVIES IMPRESSED YOU IN THE PAST. 

Mogg: YES!  EBB2 is a "BIGFOOT VS BUNNY" sequel!  So there's an amazing climax where the two beasts meet for a showdown to the death!  After shooting BIGFOOT ATE MY BOYFRIEND, I knew that the only way to bring Bigfoot back would be to pair him against and equal of physical strength... and the Bunny hit me like a ton of bricks.  Plus it was great fun revisiting 2010's EASTER BUNNY BLOODBATH which isn't the best film around but was my first feature length film (which I lovingly say "taught me all the mistakes I wanted to teach myself").  So in making this sequel (after making tons of other films), I was able to re-examine my early approaches and redo things from a new standpoint.  It was also fun to reuse some of the old musical cues and try to match the style of the first film.  But I think the biggest difference was in the editing, because I have become a much more experienced video editor since then... learning how to better time things for a greater payoff.  But as a versus film, I felt it was important to focus clearly on the Bunny storyline first, then bring in Bigfoot almost unexpectedly at the end - surprising the audience.  And that's sort of the way I cut films, leaving the end to play out in a zany over the top fashion (anyone who made it through TEENAGE SLUMBER PARTY NIGHTMARE can see this).  But I do love THE TOXIC AVENGER III's pair off with TOXIE and the DEVIL...

Young Galaxina photo again! We are organizing things, and I found MANY photos, mostly of my sister, but on this one it is me! Yes! :) This was my first year in High Scool, and this was our school's uniform! We didn't wear it daily, it was mostly for ceremonies. And it was made by my mother! Yes, I learnt from her a lot about sewing as a child too :) I loved to have a school uniform, because at time I was really into Sailor Moon (as you can see, my hair was really similar to Sailor Mercury's), and I loved that our school had this unique uniform style! <3 Now I realized how old this photo is. Galaxina (1980)

Plot: In the early 31st Century, mankind creates a robot which has real emotions. Now Galxina (Dorothy Stratten) is asigned to a space police vessel, can she help track down the Blue Star?

Review: The more cult films that come back into circulation, the more you realise just why some of them were ignored or forgotten about by the majority of society in the first place.

Galaxina is a micro-budgeted attempt to muscle in on the sci-fi boom of the late ‘70′s / early ‘80′s, featuring Dorothy Stratten of Buck Rodgers fame. It was meant to be her big break, but it ended up being her penultimate film credit due to an awful premature death at the age of just twenty. Not that it would have done much for her anyway - even with a low level of competency, she doesn’t exactly shine. The former Playboy playmate still might have been a prototype Pamela Anderson (who of course had her own awful films), but she’s not really to blame for how bad this is.

It’s not just that it’s badly written or shoddily made, especially considering what others were capable of at the time, it’s also the fact that it’s so damn boring. At least if there was a little excitement or something of note happen there would be something to warrant it being a cult hit, but apart from the lead actress there is nothing. There really are so few redeeming features as to make sitting through the ninety-odd minutes so pointless.

If there was a unique sense of style (see Barbarella), an interesting idea (see Logans Run), or even a funny script, it would make it worth it. But there is just nothing going for it at all.

HFPA and Instyle Celebration of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many more style darlings were at the HFPA and Instyle Celebration of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Wednesday (November 15) in West Hollywood, California.

Serinda Swan: This Styland ensemble brought every bit of smoldering sizzle we’d expect from a hot-red gown except manifested in a suit, and I loved every minute of it—especially with the matching red lip and handbag. Andrea Riseborough: The event saw Andrea reinvent her look again, as she rocked a new Galaxina hairstyle with an equally galactic metallic jumpsuit. Directional makeup and decorative wrist cuffs completed the look that may split the vote—but I think we can all agree that there will be no boredom with this punchy, experimental look.

Olivia Culpo: Some may fault the visible cups underneath this Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018 gown. But, the wispy beauty of the tulle and its glinting embellishment had a sense of enchantment, regardless.

Alison Brie: This BOSS dress featured a new take on velvet with its embossed leopard print. Perhaps a bit more excitement in the jewels or bold lip department could have better emboldened the Christian Louboutin heels.

Serayah McNeill: Offering an interesting play on the shirt dress silhouette, this Vatanika Spring 2017 dress had plenty of attitude tied up in its plunge neck and pouf sleeves—even if the pumps were mere afterthought.

Aubrey Plaza: The familiar prairie-chic aesthetic from the Valentino Resort 2018 collection was seen here in this embroidered frock, to which I again question the footwear. A red or pink sandal would have heightened the effect.

Arielle Kebbel: Methinks this Atelier Donato dress was just a tad disjointed between the tweed, the flurry of floral-like dimensional embroidery, and the lace skirt.

Dove Cameron: Darling chic, this Giamba Pre-Fall 2017 butterfly frock was a sweet choice for Dove, although it could have used a sleeker ’do to fully showcase the collar detail.

Katherine Langford: We saw a version of this Valentino Resort 2018 frock on Zoey Deutch, although Katherine wore the unmodified runway version. Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps completed the look, where again I think she could have had more cheeky fun with her shoes.

Hong Chau: Thank goodness for a neon-yellow pump, as it further enlivened this Versace Fall 2017 striated, cold-shoulder dress.

Jaime King: I love how this Elie Saab Fall 2017 dress reflected Jaime’s romantic bohemian side in a hyper-sophisticated way with John Hardy jewels to accessorise the look. Madeline Brewer: Imbued with an edge, this Osman Resort 2018 shimmery frock balanced sweet and sassy with John Hardy jewels and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.

Kathryn Newton: I know that the bralette and briefs may be a sticking point for some people in this Christian Dior, but I like the precious-Parisian flair she brought to the look.

Sarah Gadon: This Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 dress relied on its textural, feathery motif for impact.

Yvonne Orji: I like how this mega-bow-accented Phoung My metallic-laced dress delivered a new twist on the cocktail frock. It was sculptural, sleek, and sweet—all rolled into one, especially when styled with Stuart Weitzman sandals and a Rebecca Minkoff clutch.

Abbie Cornish: I think I would have preferred this look without the sheer lace skirt, as it overcooked it with the decorative sweater and jacket.

Zoe Lister-Jones: This Dion Lee suit was so elegant and streamlined with its relevant take on the menswear trend.

Sarah Hyland: The charm of her metallic mini frock got another dose of drama in her oxblood lip. Giuseppe Zanotti sandals completed the look.
