Shutting the door as you walk in, you could only sigh with a sharp intake of air. It seemed the world was out to get you today. Everything seemed to go wrong, everyone had gotten upset at you for something or other, or something got broken. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. Seeing a pair of boots underneath your coat rack signaled the other occupant of the apartment was home.

"He's back early," you mumbled, throwing your keys haphazardly somewhere near your designated key bowl, on a mission to just sink into your couch and melt away. You quickly made your way to the kitchen, ignore the male currently chewing on a screw on the couch. It was obvious to Gajeel that something was wrong; after all, you had neglected to greet him and made a b-line for the pantry.

Seeing you grab a box of cookie crackers, he spoke up, "Food isn't gonna make you feel better, Hansel."

"I can dream, Gretel," you huff, grabbing yourself a drink before turning to retreat to your room. But Gajeel had gotten up and stood in your way. "Move."

"No."

"Gajeel," you warned.

" (Y/n)."

Pantherlily, still on the couch, piped in, "Comfort eating is not a recommended remedy to a bad day, (Y/n)."

"He's right," Gajeel agreed, crossing his arms. "What's up, Tiny?"

You started to tense up, cheeks slowly beginning to puff out, your eyebrows began to twist, you begin to crush the box of cookies, and tears slowly well in your eyes. Gajeel got nervous, you were about to blow and he didn't wanna know if he'd be able to handle it. But before you could burst, you only deflated, your muscles once tense had loosened. Not being able to meet his eyes, your head went limp and faced the floor.

"Just..." you trailed off. "...a bad day. Nothing went right and I only seemed to be in the way..."

Bracing yourself for what could only be something else to skew your day, you closed your eyes. Surely he was going to point out your messy hair or make fun of the stain on your shirt, or even how one of your shoes were untied. However, your were surprised by the soft weight on your head. Looking up, you see it's Gajeel's rough hand. His face was stiff, but the twitch in his brow and the small almost unnoticeable blush on his cheeks gave away that he was unsure of this action.

"You did your best though, right?" He asked, not breaking eye contact. You nodded. Despite having troubles thrown your way, you did indeed persevere and do your best.

"Then you did good," Gajeel gave you a crooked smile. "A day faced head-on is a day well spent."

Looking at him incredulously, you let his words sink in. For someone pretty dumb, he can be awfully smart sometimes. Your lack of response began to make Gajeel nervous, worried he said something wrong or dumb. But you had leaned forward and wrapped him into an embrace, nuzzling into his shoulder. Returning your hug, Gajeel rested his chin on your head, and you noticed that his hold was tight and protective.

"You're dumb," You mumble into him. But before he could get offended, you continued, "but I really needed that right now. So .. thank you."

"Hah!" Gajeel hawed, getting a big head, "Ya, well, of course! I'm the best!"

Hide and Seek

Gajeel Redfox X Reader

(Y/n) lies stretched out on the couch in her boyfriend's home, waiting for the male to get out of the shower so that they could head off to the guild. Though she quickly grew bored and ended up getting off the couch to go wonder the kitchen, that was when she found it. Cling wrap. An idea came to mind, and she quickly searched the drawers under the sink, finding the duct tape she had been searching for. She made her way to the bathroom door; it opened in wards so she knew her plan would work. She covered the upper third of the doorway in the cling wrap, taping it down before taping off the opening of the hallway with it.

The next step was to determine a hiding place, choosing the corner of the living room blocked off by the couches as the best choice. She quickly turned on the hot water of the kitchen sink, then ran over and basically leaped over the couches to duck in this corner with a cover thrown over her. In seconds she heard a loud string of curses as her iron brained boyfriend stumbled out of the shower as the water went ice cold. That was quickly followed by the screams of her name and the bathroom door being thrown open, she assumed he hit the first barrier by the sliding sound and thud.

She tensed when she heard him growl and the pounding of his footsteps before the sound of plastic straining, he hit the wall of cling wrap. (Y/n) could almost swear she could feel his irritation, she burrowed under the pile of pillows that were in the corner. Hoping they would hide her much better than just the cover, the sound of the plastic ripping made her freeze. She placed a hand over her mouth and tried to keep her breathing quiet, the cold air at ground level made her tense to fight the chill but she could feel his footsteps as he began wondering about in search for her. She could hear him perfectly thanks to the small gaps behind and under the couches, so when she heard his deep chuckle, she barely fought back against the squeak caught in her throat.

"You think you can hide from me (Y/n)?... I'm gonna find you and when I do... I'll have to punish you." She held her breath when hearing his footsteps stop close by, she could practically feel his eyes looking over the corner. Though when she heard the couch to her right creek she panicked, leaping up and tossing the cover over Gajeel's head as she bolted. Though she didn't get far, she ended up tripping over one of her shoes and falling flat on her face. It was at that moment Gajeel's booming laughter filled the room; he tossed the balled-up cover into the corner before walking over towards her. "You okay down there munchkin? You hit pretty hard." He chuckled and watched the girl sit up, pouting as she puffed up her cheeks and looked up at him. "It's not funny... I thought I was free." Gajeel crouched in front of her, filling her with confusion as she tilted her head. At least until he leaned down and kissed her gently, before she could react, he straightened up and began to leave the room. (Y/n) quickly stood, chasing after him blushing cheeks and all. "H-hey Gajeel! Wait up!"

Harry pouted from around the bookcase corner, watching as you picked another book to put into the growing pile in your arms. Harry huffed, leaning against the wood of the bookcase; you had been ignoring him for your wee books the last few days, enraptured by the worlds within those pages, enough to practically forget he existed. And he was very much an attention hog.

His eyes flashed as an idea came to mind and he kicked the bookcase, walking forward to help you as the pile you had been carrying dropped to the floor along with another few books. “The fuck?” you muttered, kneeling as Harry did the same, picking up a few books silently as you continued to mutter to yourself “Har, Did anyone bump into the bookcase? A/n: ohmygosh I’m so sorry about not being super active for a while!! School kinda sucks butt at the moment and I got smacked with a bit of writers block at the same time, but I promise that I’m on track and almost ready to post some of the requests I’ve been working on. I can’t promise my upload schedule will be as consistent, but I’m going to do my best to make sure I’m still putting out stuff, because I really love doing this and am so glad you’re reading what I write! Here’s a little Fairy Tail Natsu oneshot that I’ve had in my drafts to maybe hold you over. Hope you like it!

Sitting in a chair on the boat deck, you fanned yourself with your hand. Strands of drenched hair stuck to your forehead, and you already started to regret not bringing any sort of shade on the vessel.

Why did Master Marakov make you come on the boat with the S Trial contestants again?

The rest of your fellow S-Class mages were already on the island, so why were you stuck on this stupid ship? Gramps said something about helping him control this year’s contenders on their journey to the guild’s island, but half of them were either dying of heat or of motion sickness anyways, leaving you unnecessary and miserable.

“Humidity sucks,” you complained, laying your head on your arms to stare out at the ocean.

“Not for Juvia, it doesn’t,” Cana stated, pointing to said water mage staring in awe at-

“GRAY! I DID NOT NEED TO SEE THAT!” you shrieked, shielding your eyes and turning away from the ice mage’s naked figure.

“It’s so hot…” the male groaned from the opposite end of the boat.

“Thanks, Captain Obvious,” glowered a nauseous Gajeel, head hanging off the side of the ship. Near to your sitting place, another Dragon Slayer seemed to have it just as bad, if not even worse.

“You think Wendy would use that Troia spell on me this time around?” Natsu groggily questioned aloud.

With his tousled salmon hair and permanent pout on his face, Natsu would have looked incredibly cute - if not for the excessive amount of times he had leaned over the boat to hurl. Everyone was very much aware of the boy’s hatred of vehicular transportation, especially yourself. Being one of his closest friends caused you to be quite knowledgeable of his motion sickness when you would go on jobs together. It had been a while since you’d seen it up close, though, since you were out working by yourself for a few months.

“She’s technically your enemy, though,” a lounging Loke pointed out to Natsu, referring to the trials about to take place.

“Sorry Natsu,” Wendy agreed sadly. “Hang in there.”

“That’s – okay,” the Fire Dragon Slayer gagged.

A pang of guilt shot through you at the poor boy’s state. Would it be wrong of you to try to comfort him, seeing as he was a trial contender?

When Natsu whined out with one of the most adorably pitiful noises you’d ever heard, you decided that you might as well offer him some company. The trial hadn’t started yet, after all.

“Hey, Natsu,” you spoke up, trying not to make any jolting movements that might shift the boat around more. He stared up at your concerned face with a pained expression.

Natsu drew out your nickname with a tone pleading for help. “Please help me out here.”

A fiery blush arose on your face. The Dragon Slayer knew that you always melted for him when he used that old name. Damn him for knowing that weakness.

“How do I do that?” you asked, slowly sitting down behind Natsu’s head. He was taking up the whole edge on one side of the ship, and you didn’t want to block the middle deck.

“I don’t know,” he whimpered.

“Well,” an idea came to mind as you spoke, “a woman I encountered during my last quest did something when I was dazed, but I’m not sure if it will work for you.”

“Try it, please, literally anything to get me out of this hell.”

You shifted forward from where you sat and gingerly lifted Natsu’s head into your lap. He stared up at your face with curiosity in his onyx eyes, and you gestured for his hands, which he lifted up in compliance.

You placed your index, middle, and ring finger of your right hand on the inside of one of his wrists and applied light pressure for about five seconds, switching over to his other hand before looking down at the pink haired mage for a response.

“Did it work at all?” you inquired softly.

“Yeah, actually. It’s not as bad now,” he sighed, body relaxing slightly.

“Good. I think you can try focusing on a fixed point somewhere on the horizon, or you could try closing your eyes if that helps instead.”

Natsu’s eyes fluttered closed and you couldn’t hold back your smile. There was that cute face, his relaxed features and easier breaths softening his expression.

“Why does the flame baby get special treatment when I’m over here dying?” Gajeel cried as he hung over the boat’s edge.

“I thought you said you didn’t have motion sickness, Gajeel,” you recalled. “If you do, though, just tell me and I can certainly help you out as well.”

The Iron Dragon Slayer grouched. “Nevermind.”

You sat on the deck and continued to hold Natsu’s head, occasionally repeating the same routine of applying pressure to his wrists whenever he started to tense up in discomfort. After some time of just listening to the gentle waves of the ocean, he opened one of his eyes to gaze up at you.

“Thanks for the help,” he offered a small grin, sharp canines just barely poking out.

You smiled back, gently patting the boy’s head. “It’s no problem.”

The pink strands of hair under your fingers were undeniably soft, just how they always looked to you - even in the most action packed of situations. Without really thinking of it, your hands started to weave gently through Natsu’s hair. The Dragon Slayer opened both his eyes at this point, surprised at your actions, but he was basically purring when you started to scratch gently at his scalp.

“Jeez, you’re really good at that,” he hummed, bringing on a warmth in your body that stood completely unrelated to the day’s humidity.

“You think so?”

“Heck yes; I want your hands in my hair for the rest of eternity.”

Your movements stilled for a moment, wanting to engrain that sentence in your mind as quickly as humanly possible. It would be a flat out lie if you said that you weren’t attracted to Natsu, so his words poked at your stomach and prompted it to flutter in all sorts of ways. The oblivious idiot didn’t appear to notice your embarrassingly flustered state, though, simply nuzzling his head further into your lap.

And honestly, that was completely okay with you at the moment.

“Did you happen to bring any mints?” Natsu inquired as you continued playing with his hair. It was pretty common of you to bring along some when you went on jobs with the Dragon Slayer, just to help freshen his breath if he got sick - which was quite often. You rummaged around in the bag that was slung across your shoulders with one hand, checking to see if you had left any in there before leaving the guild. Your hand brushed against a small metal container, pulling it out triumphantly. “You’re in luck, flame brain.”

Natsu sat up slowly to take a mint from you, popping it into his mouth as you ruffled his hair fondly. “Better?”

He nodded a bit. “Yeah, but I think I need one more thing.”

“I don’t know if I’ll have anything to help, but what would that thing be?”

Suddenly, Natsu looked over to the other side of the ship and pointed out into the ocean, catching everyone’s attention.

“Hey, is that Tenrou Island right there?” he called out, which caused everyone to shift over to search the horizon. You also turned your head in the direction to which he gestured, but didn’t make any movement to stand.

“I can’t even see anything, are you sure-?”

Before you could finish your sentence, Natsu had pressed a soft kiss to your cheek and instantly shut you up. You brought your face back to him, who shamelessly grinned at your shocked expression. “Now I’m good to go,” he quipped.

You just stared at him for a moment, completely unsure of what just happened, but as soon as you recovered you instantly grabbed him by his scarf and crashed your lips together. The unusual taste of mint mixed with a scent like smoky firewood was oddly intoxicating as the Fire Dragon Slayer kissed you back with a feverish intensity.

The moment was quickly gone after you urgently pushed him away, noticing Lucy turning back around with a slight frown pulling at her lips.

“Natsu, there’s absolutely nothing over there,” she whined, throwing her hands up in tired aggravation. “You gave me hope that we’d finally be able to get off this thing.”

“Oh my bad, I thought for sure I saw something,” he shrugged nonchalantly, laying back down and settling easily into your lap once more. The smug glint dancing across his eyes made your nerves go haywire, but you didn’t move a muscle until everyone’s attention returned to the unbearable heat radiating onto the ocean’s surface.

“Just because that just happened,” you murmured softly under your breath, “it doesn’t mean I’m going easy on you if I see you on Tenrou.”

He simply flashed a kiddish grin in response. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

are there any other preferences or exclusions when it comes to the characters or readers you will write besides the ones your already mentioned in your rules? like your preferred characters for fairy tail, characters you will not write, certain genders of reader you will or will not write for, do you lean more towards dom or sub etc?

I haven't written FT (and curse my phone for autocorrecting this constantly) yet, but I tend to favor writing Reader x PickYourVillain for just about everything. I enjoy some yandere themes and the bit of spice that comes with twisty, broken personalities.

Like Bickslow. He is hands down my favorite twisty in FT because of what yandere-y things can be accomplished with those crazy eyes of his.

In terms of specific ones I won't touch - I won't do Gajeel. He and Levy are just too perfect in my eyes. I also probably won't touch Natsu because he's a fire breathing toddler, and I doubt I could write him seriously unless I were in a mood. Elfman is another one I probably couldn't get into because that "manly" thing was just so grossly overdone in my opinion that I can't take him seriously either. Happy, chipper characters kinda bore me when they aren't paired with offsetting snark. (There are always exceptions, though, so seriously don't be shy about messaging me if you have something in mind). Like Tobi, I will almost always write him with Deidara because their dynamic amuses me.

I tend to stick to my own experience when it comes to what I write because honestly, it's easier to describe something when you know what it feels like. For example, I am unlikely to write male readers because I don't have a dick (though who hasn't wondered what they'd do for a day if they did?). I will write non-smut with gender neutral readers, though.

Touching on experience again, I favor writing sub readers because, again, that's what I have the most experience with. Same goes for the kinks featured on this blog. D/s dynamics, ropes, restraints, blindfolds, pain play, spankings, spicy brat taming, electricity - you get the idea. I like writing about that sort of thing because I know what it feels like, so I feel I can paint a better picture for the readers as a result.

You may catch me in a switchy mood depending on what the ask is.

As for fem character + fem!Reader matchups, that's another one where I kind of need to feel the right vibes in order to make it work. Erza, Cana, and Virgo for example - I could see those working easily. That's just one of those things where you're best off just throwing an ask at my inbox and seeing if it sticks. I'll stew on things for a while if I'm unsure before giving a definite no.

As I have mentioned before in other asks and in the rules, the big exclusion for readers is body types for asks and requests. It's a pain point for me, so you will only ever see reference to weight/breast size or lackfhereof/etc in writings that I've done for myself, that I honestly will probably not post here because it's exclusionary and/or triggering for so many people. I want it to stay vague so that as many people as possible can feel like they can step into their chosen universe.

The only exception to the above is the tiny/tall matchup trope. I'm a sucker for short readers, but I feel with the ones I tend to match them with for this, literally anyone would still feel short in comparison (I'm looking at you, Sharkman).

I might not even think of certain things to exclude until they come up. Never feel shy about directly messaging me or sending me an ask if you aren't sure about something. I'm sure there are things I missed that just never crossed my mind because I don't spend time thinking about it. In those cases, I'll still respond to the ask with an explanation as to why I can't do the thing said anon is asking for and add it to the list of nopes.

Which characters do you write for?

This is a good way to finally make me write this list cause I’ve really been needing to.

It’s hard as a grey-asexual writer. Because I’m very picky about my character preferences. 

Partially, some characters I view as paternal figures and it feels wrong, and also characters I don’t feel any attraction towards, personally, or I don’t know much about. Either way, it’s hard to write for someone that I can’t get into a certain mindset for.  Like All Might, or Aizawa. I can’t write them in a romantic or nsfw way.  All Might is too much of a dad for me to write about. And Aizawa is crawling into parental territory.  

Maybe it’s because I have parental issues, that it makes much older characters parent like to me. 

Just like Allura, or Coran. I can’t write for them because I’m not attracted to them in anyway. Coran is a dad/weird uncle. And Allura is space mom. 

Also, it’s hard for me to write female character x reader. Not saying I won’t do it. It’s just I’ve never written any type of material like that. Anything I’ve ever written has been so far, male character x reader. 

MAybe it’s because I’m too intimidated by how hot the girls are idk or that I’ve only ever been in one gay relationship and it was extremely unhealthy and scarred me. I’m a useless gay/

Blonde at 10 ‘o’clock

It wasn’t very often that the two besties got to just hang out anymore and relax.  Between work, school, and just life, conflicting schedules kept them apart save for text messages and social media.  So finally, and lucky for them it was a perfect day for it, the beach sounded like a great idea.  Get a tan…  Catch up on gossip…  Simply let the stresses melt away under the sun.  

They settled in the center of the beach near the life guard shack and had been lounging for a couple hours by the time shift change had arrived.  Levy was rambling about some new guy she just met.  A lot taller than her, singer in a band, long spiky black hair, tattoos and piercings…  “What is with you and those grungy guys Lev?”

The mousy young woman shrugs her shoulders, “I just like ‘um,” giggling, “It looks funny when we’re together, cause I only come up to his chest!”  

Lucy’s friend moves on to the first time she saw Gajeel performing…  She listens, for the most part until her attention falls on some new eye candy walking towards the lifeguard tower.  As her eyes follow the man, her friends voice drones out and is replaced by the sound of her heart beat fluttering.  

She bites the corner of her lip, ‘Hot damn!  That guy is fine!’  The young man walks with a certain air of confidence and smooth cadence in his stride; which walking in sand with slippers is no easy feat to pull off.  He dons the typical lifeguard uniform of the red and yellow surf shorts and matching tank top, but wears it well; the muscles of his back flexing, solid biceps, and unflinching calf muscles; he was totally, a surfer boy dreamboat!  Wild salmon colored hair… she sighs, wishing she could see his eyes that are hidden behind a pair of sunglasses.  

He shakes the hand of the other dark-haired lifeguard, who she notices has the same symbol tattoo, maybe a frat mark or something?  It’s clear that these two know each other well as a goofy grin takes over his face; she turns her head, so she can listen in better to their conversation.  “Mellow wave action…  first time on this beach…  Toothache…  Blue, 2 ‘o’clock.  White, 4 ‘o’clock…  Guarantee cavity…  Blonde, 10 ‘o’clock…  yeah, no root canal so far…  hang out later…”  Fist bumping, the darker males takes his leave and the heartthrob pulls himself up the ladder.  ‘I wonder what they were talking about…’

“Lu?”

“Huh?  Oh, sorry, you were saying?”

Levy giggles, “You have no idea what I was talking about do you?”  She looks up at the tower and smirks.  “Too busy checking out the hottie lifeguard?”

“I…” red blotches pop up on Lucy’s chest and face.  “… thought I recognized him from somewhere.”

“Oh yeah…” Levy cocks her head, “I think I know where.”

“Where?”  Expecting her friend to say high school or maybe college.

“In your dreams!”

“Oomph!  You!” Lucy starts tickling he friend.  “Take it back!”

“No… way!” Levy shrieks.  “Better stop it Lu…  you’re gonna attract his attention…”

She turns and looks and sure enough he is staring at them…  well she thinks he is, at least in their direction but it’s kinda hard to tell with those damn sunglasses on!  She stops tickling her friend.  “You win this time Lev…”  When she looks again, he’s grinning; she had caught his eye.

‘Mellow day, huh?  If that’s the case I’m gonna…’  Just as he’s closing his eyes he hears a shriek and looks over at 10 ‘o’clock.  ‘Damn Gray was right…’  The blonde was tickling her friend…  something…  ‘take it back’…  ‘attract his attention’…  he grins a little, ‘I bet they’re talking about me…’  

This is exactly why he and his friend had come up with a simple code back in high school, so it would be harder to figure out they were talking about girls.  This system generally worked for them, and came in handy with the profession they had chosen.  Think about it, checking out the lovely ladies helped to pass the time, and they encountered a lot of them on a beach.  

It was a simple ranking really, toothache meant pretty, cavity was gorgeous girls, and root canals were rare but was reserved for supermodel status chicks.  This girl was a cavity alright, and she looked awfully fine in the skimpy red bikini she was wearing…

Levy giggles and pokes her friend’s chest, “I bet he’s ogling your goodies Lu.”

“Shut up!” Lucy protests through a gritted smile, but if the darkening patches on her cheeks are any indication; she secretly hopes he is!  

“Well, I’m gonna tan,” Levy lays on her back and throws a pair of shades on.  “Wake me up if anything good happens.”

Lucy lies on her stomach, “Yeah sure…” and grabs a book out of her bag.  

Picking up from where she had bookmarked earlier, she starts to read, hoping to get into the story and her mind off the handsome lifeguard…  

“…Oh yeah, so you think this will work?” he models the outfit for her.  The shirt is a white collared button down half sleeve that still shows off his muscular arms, a little tight in the chest area but with his body shape it was very sexy.  Dark gray slacks and black dress shoes complete the look.  He left the first couple of buttons open revealing a smooth chest underneath…  

Images of a pink haired guy all dressed up and she the girl on his arm invade Lucy’s mind.  She shakes her head trying to erase them like an etch-a-sketch as she reads on.  

…Lying in bed she ponders over the day. ‘I can’t believe I let him stay here, what was I thinking?  You’re attracted to him that’s why.  Hush conscious!  Okay so he is kinda dreamy, he’s just as goofy as…, kinda self-centered but still sweet, and a little brighter in the intellectual department which is nice.  He sure knows how to sweet talk a girl too…. Okay that’s enough I need to get to sleep already!’

Sighing she turns over on her side, hugging her pillow till she falls asleep.  A couple of hours later she wakes up feeling like someone’s in the bed with her.  She realizes there’s an arm around her waist, so she turns her head and sees blonde hair.  

“What are you doing in my bed!?” Realizing she can see his bare chest, “Oh my God and your naked!” she yells as she turns red.  “I was lonely on the couch, so I came in here.” He murmurs.  “You’re nice and warm baby…” he falls back asleep…  

The sounds of giggling capture her attention and she looks up from her book, over to see two girls trying to flirt with the lifeguard.  Not wanting to stare she watches out of her side view and tries to listen in…

Once 10 ‘o’clock settles down with a book, Natsu leans back in his chair admiring the view.  The curves on the creamy blonde just screamed for attention, ‘maybe I could offer to put lotion on her…’ he smirks to himself.  Never mind those skinny models, no give him a girl with an hourglass and this one was a perfect 10 in his eyes; boobs, hips and ass with a slim waist and long toned legs.  

The fact she was reading a book was a plus to him.  He may not be a reader, but he’d rather date a girl with intelligence too.  ‘Yup,’ the smirk grows, ‘definitely need to introduce myself later…’  When a couple of girls walk up trying to talk to him, he shuts them down nicely, “Nope, sorry…  Not interested…  Working here…”  All the while keeping his eyes trained on the blonde…

After reading the same passage three times, Lucy gives up.  Every time something remotely cute, romantic, or intimate comes up in the story her mind tried to substitute him into the story; in other words, blonde guy became guy with pink hair…  She sighs.  “Pst.  Levy…” Lucy pokes at her friend trying her best to stay quiet, “Levy….”

“Hmm, what is it?”

“He keeps looking over here…”

Her friend yawns, “Why don’t you just go talk to him?”

Lucy motions with her eyes, “No way I’m gonna join the parade of girls…” Levy looks over and sees what her friend is pointing out.  “That’s like the 6th or 7th so far, all in a row.  It’s like when one or two gives up, the next one tries.”

“And he still keeps looking over here?”

“He hasn’t stopped looking.”

“I don’t know what to tell ya Lu, are you hoping he makes a move first?”

“Actually… I came up with an idea…” she whispers the details to Levy, who’s struggling not to giggle.  “So, will you help me?”

“It’s a bit extreme, but if you wanna do it, I’ll help you…”

He sees 10 ‘o’clock and her friend whispering to themselves.  Something tells him, this chick ain’t gonna try to talk to him like all these others that keep coming.  But it has nothing to do with being shy, no, she strikes him as having plenty of confidence if she needs it.  

Maybe she’s waiting for a better opportunity?  Or maybe, she doesn’t want to be lumped in with these others.  He watches intently as the two girls get off their towels and head towards the surf; the waves might be mellow, but anything can happen in the blink of an eye…  

They wade out until the water is up to their chests.  “So now what Lu?”

“Patience…” she watches the man out of the corner of her eye, “we need to wait until he’s distracted.”

“Why?”

“Duh, cause, if he is still watching us, he’ll know if I wasn’t under water for very long.”  As they wait for the right opportunity to present itself, the two friends splash around and have a little fun.

‘Man, I wish I was out there with them!’  Natsu must admit he’s a bit jealous; just because he’s a lifeguard doesn’t mean he gets to swim often and who wouldn’t want to go play with a pretty girl?  That’s just bonus!  

His mouth hangs open the longer he stares…  the sun glistening on her wet skin…  even from where he sits, he can see her big smile as she laughs and splashes her friend…  And the bounce of her, magnificent bosoms…  ‘Fuck!’  

“Natsu?”

“Huh?”  he looks down and sees a face he hasn’t seen in a while.  “Lis?”

“Yeah,” the girl smiles, “my brother said you were a lifeguard here.”

“Oh, uh-huh…” he looks back at the water to check on 10 ‘o’clock and sees her pop out of the water again.  She’s slicking back her wet hair…  ‘Fuck, she looks good soaking wet!’  To him it’s all moving in slow motion…  and the voice of this girl that’s talking to him drones out as images of he and the blonde, say in a shower…  tickle his mind…        

“So, I’m gonna be in town visiting for the week, would you like to hang out… like old times sakes?”

“Wait what?”  Old times sakes, all they were before was FTF’s.  He looks down at the girl in front of him.  “Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”

She nods, with a glimmer in her eye, “Why not…”

“Well…”  He whips his head to the sound of panicked screams and sees 10 ‘o’clocks friend turning her over in the water.  ‘Oh no!’  Chastising himself for not paying attention he grabs his buoy and leaps from the tower.  “Sorry, Lis but the answer is no,” and rushes into the waves.  

Luckily the girls weren’t out too far, but the blue-haired friend is terrified.  By the time Natsu reaches them she has the blonde face up and barely keeping the girls head afloat.  “Please help her!”

Natsu grabs the blonde from behind, with one arm snaked around her chest and the other helping him to cut through the surf.  “What happened?” he asks the rattled friend, doing his best to keep calm himself.  They may train for this scenario, but he’s let this become personal.  

“W-we were trying to see who could hold their breath the longest and…  I don’t know maybe she passed out under the water.  Oh my God please, don’t let her die!”

“Just stay calm…” by this point he’s got the blonde to the sand and is placing her on her back.  “Just stay back okay, give me room to work.”  Levy nods as a small crowd has begun to gather around them, including Lis.  

Natsu’s instincts and training kick in, he straddles her hips and leans down to see if he can hear water in her lungs; doesn’t seem like it.  Her heart is still beating, but she doesn’t seem to be taking in any air, so he begins mouth to mouth resuscitation.  Once, twice; the girls body is still limp, third time; fluttering under her eye lids, a fourth time…    

Without warning, arms wrap around his back, pulling him down and the CPR has turned into… a kiss!  Natsu’s eyes widen when he notices the chocolate orbs looking back up at him.  She smiles and runs her tongue along his lips to test his reaction…  That’s when he smiles too and reciprocates, parting his lips and allowing her tongue to venture in…  

Levy stands back smirking the whole time as a few flashes go off around her; it’s a guarantee these pictures are gonna end up on Instagram or something; lifeguard saves girl, girl thanks him with a lip-lock…  ‘Hopefully he doesn’t get in trouble…’  Behind her, another girl turns and walks away with her shoulders slumped…

After a couple minutes Natsu slowly pulls away, the biggest grin plastered on his face.  “That’s the best thanks I ever had for saving someone…” he leans next to her ear whispering, “But I know you were faking it.”

She grins back, “Just thought you could use a break from the other groupies.”

“So, what’s your name Princess?” He stands and holds out his hand.

With his help she gets to her feet, “Lucy, and yours?”

“Natsu,” he does an exaggerated bow, “at your service.”

“Hmm…” she runs her hand along his chest, “does that include night games?”

“Damn girl you are a fiery one!  That’s so freaking awesome!”

She laughs and softens her gaze suggestively, “Am I sweet enough to give you a cavity?”  His jaw drops; busted!

He pulls her back into his embrace, “Nah, I might need a root canal instead…”
