Designing Vulp clothes and culture is posing some issues on the practical side. I decided that they have three sexes (matriarch, drone, and worker), with drones being the ones who do artisan, academic, nurturant work. Vulpin is a planet that is in the early stages of recovery from an apocalypse courtesy of being something of an intergalactic dumping ground, so doing anything outside would probably be dangerous in some parts of the planet (namely the Midland around the equator, as that is where the dumping grounds were concentrated per the equator's weaker electromagnetic field posing less of a risk to outside aircrafts and technology).
Matriarchs and workers were easy, since I decided early on that Midlanders who go outside tend to grow thicker and longer coats (like how sun exposure effects earth mammal's coats).
^^Here's an example of a worker. She's wearing a rather traditional muzzle and gaitor to protect against dangerous spores native to the continent. The tail sleeve is just to keep it clean for when it's lowered to the ground.
Drones, by virtue of what their kind of work entails and the poisoned state of their homelands, would have very short coats. They might then find need of clothes to keep clean and warm, especially for if ever they opt to venture outside. Whatever clothes they wear needs to maintain form no matter what position the drone takes; Vulps walk vertically, horizontally, and upside down thanks to their ability to manipulate electromagnetic fields. Their clothes also cannot cover their necks unless there is some way to keep the cloth off from the gills (used for sight, scent, and breath). But without having something around the throat, how would it keep in position??
Dimorphism notes: drones are proportioned differently from workers in that their forelimbs are arms rather than legs, meaning they are capable of less speed but more dexterity.
I would love to see your cosplay of jevil!! only if you want to show it, of course! I just don't think I've ever seen a jevil cosplayer, at least not in the tk community
I don't mind at all!! It's still a cosplay I'm super proud of. Even though, sadly, I really can't wear him for more than 2-3 hours at a time. I overheat like a Mother in him because the top half alone has four layers, plus a full face-mask with a neck gaitor.
Cosplaying him has brought me, and other people, so much joy at cons. I feel like I get to embrace my goofy gremlin self that enjoys playing light-hearted pranks and making people laugh.
