During winter break, I had some extra time and looked into Live2D and how to make a 2D Vtuber-type Avatar and turned my Gaddes WoL art into a moving, talking avatar for my stream!

It's not perfect, but it was fun learning something new!

I will draw any character that is original or existing (exceptions are anthro like characters, I just can’t do animals very well sorry. aliens like from Mass Effect are okay.)

Please send me any and all references you have, be it in written descriptions, face claims, color charts, screenshots, other art, etc. I want every detail you can throw at me, down to the button colors. Tell me a little about their personality so I can maybe convey them better, too.

Outfit Designs:

This slot is open to ONE person only and is for a SINGLE character (so no 3 separate characters). Once it has been filled, it will be closed until further notice. I will design just about any outfits you’d like, or I can do existing outfits if you’d rather have those. Any other details can be discussed privately.

If you woke up one day and found yourself in Eorzea, like an isekai anime:

You shake your head and groggily open your eyes, only to find a tall, gentle paladin looking down at you.  After looking you over for a moment, he kneels down in quiet concern and offers to you his hand and a warm smile.

“Hello there. My name is Gaddes... are you all right?”

His hand is large and warm, and cups yours as if it was a delicate flower.

“Do you need any help?”

Now that we got extra time before Endwalker, I'm spending it with video edits, lol... I made a WoL video to get psyched for the upcoming expansion!

A Tragedy in Three Faces

Because I’m a masochist, I rewatched the post-Vault cutscene again... hadn’t seen it in a while. And maybe I hadn’t really been paying attention the first few times, but this time around, I paid more attention to my WoL’s face during... the final moments.  I know depending on how people make their WoL’s faces, there’s a decent disparity in how “effective” the expressions can be in scenes such as these, but I was actually taken aback by how subtle the pain and loss was on Gaddes’ face.  

In the first shot, there’s a very real sense of loss and helplessness.  He looks like he doesn’t know what to do, but is horribly torn by it all.

In the second, it’s a tender, very genuine looking smile that’s tainted by that gentle furrowing of his brows that belies the painful sadness threatening to break his resolve.

And the last one probably is what haunts me so much about the scene itself... it’s how desolate his wide eyes are, how unmistakable the WoL’s despair hits at that very moment. His important person that he failed to protect.

I think I’ve mentioned it before, but when I was originally creating my Duskwight Elezen, I noticed that the vast majority of Elezens tended to have an unfortunate case of “resting bitch face” through no fault of their own, so I made a specific attempt to create a face whose default was never cold or cruel, but rather warm and tender.  I opted for wider eyes, a less severe pointed nose, and flatter eyebrows that weren’t sharp or angular...  and I think the results work very well to cement the kind of person that Gaddes is. 

I couldn’t imagine him any other way.  :3
