Tag Challenge: Top 5 Female Characters that I Love
I was tagged by @lostinbl, and as I too have done my 5 favourite male characters, I’m gonna mention 5 of my favourite female characters of all time.
1. Bae Doona as Han Yeo Jin, Secret Forest/ Stranger
Anyone who has ever read my tags on actors/ characters I love knows that I love this woman and I love this show. Han Yeo Jin was perfect as the hard working intelligent detective, who walked step by step with Hwang Si Mok Prosecutor. Her detective skills were next to none, she recognised problems before anyone else and didn’t cut corners when her own colleagues were discovered to be involved. I am a fan of her principles and everything she stands for. She was a fun loving woman yet serious in her work, she was warm and empathetic, but pragmatic and realistic enough to know the realities of the world.
2. Gabriella Anwar as Fiona Glenanne, Burn Notice
Burn Notice is one of my all time favourite shows and Fiona is my favourite character in it. The trigger happy ex girlfriend whose fucking badass in everything she does. Smart sexy badass fighter who loves guns, cares about her friends and family. A lot of the times, she was the one how rescued the rest out of trouble. played by the very beautiful Gabriella Anwar, Fiona is just all around awesome.
3. Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, Star Trek: Voyager
Seven of Nine is one of those characters who you can’t look away from. Her character development was phenomenal. She was righteous, every episode focused on her was amazing. Her little snippets, her mannerisms, everything was just awesome. She is probably my favourite character in all of the star trek universe. She never shied away from a challenge, was extremely intelligent and she never lost her soul.
4. Park Min Young as Chae Young Shin, Healer
Healer was one of the most well written shows in the kdrama world. Chae Young Shin was naughty, quick witted and was well matched with both the other protagonists. She had a good head on her shoulders and thought things through well. She never gave up on people, even in the face of extreme adversity. Although she couldn’t even look at violence happening, she tried her best to protect others around her and walked headfirst into conflict. Park Min Young was perfect in this. Just as in this gif, she was always beside Healer and not behind him.
5. Bae Jong Ok as Ahn Jang Mi, Live
Okay I had to think long and hard for this one. I couldn’t decide which character to choose, but Bae Jong Ok as Ahn Jang Mi is a show stealer for sure. She was a strong woman, head of the women’s cell police department. She worked hard to prevent crime and never cut corners, she never let people get away with bullshit, no matter how high up or how self righteous their motives may be. She was a hard working career woman at the top of her field, but didn’t cut any slack for her husband. She loved him, and knew he loved her, but he neglected her because of work. She understood that but was not okay with it because she knew she deserved more. Ahn Jang Mi was an inspiring character.
Honourable mentions
Shin Min Ah as Kang Joo Eun, Oh My Venus: Sassy, funny, witty, intelligent, perseverant, loves herself and others just as they are, kind hearted, generous and never ever gives up.
Park Bo Young as Do Bong Soon, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: Adorable peanut sized king kong, I love her
Stana Katic as Kate Beckett, Castle: Awesome detective, very badass
Felicia Day as Charlie, Supernatural: Sassy lesbian intelligent beautiful, the little sister of the boys
Arden Cho as Kira, Teenwolf: A badass katana wielding kitsune, clumsy but powerful
Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, Teenwolf: Highly intelligent, beautiful, badass, saver of all, compassionate, a banshee. Never lets her family and friends down.
So that's my list. I tag @sofia-razvi @butterflyheart-me @bookscoffee75 @izzy-jellybaby @head-of-family-t @sarangkstars @bl-crossingtheline @akingyouniverse @castheassbutt @out-in-the-cold @p-a-r-a-s-o-x @kdramama @kindaanartblog and anyone who wants to do this
#secret forest#bae doona#seven of nine#star trek voyager#burn notice#gabriella anwar#fiona glenanne#kbs healer#chae young shin#park min young#live tvn#bae jong ok#ahn jang mi#jeri ryan#best female characters#top 5 female characters#top 5 characters of all time

Once Upon a Time is wasting no time in revealing some of the new mysteries of its rebooted seventh season as Friday’s episode unearthed why Lady Tremaine hates Cinderella so much.
It turns out, Lady Tremaine (Gabrielle Anwar) blames Cinderella (Dania Ramirez) for the death of her daughter Anastasia — well, sort of. Anastasia has one last breath left in her, and Lady Tremaine believes the heart of the truest believer could revive her, thus she charges Cinderella with stealing Henry’s heart, something Regina (Lana Parrilla) is, fortunately, able to dissuade her from doing.
While Ramirez notes that Cinderella bares an immense amount of guilt over Anastasia’s predicament, the actress also coyly teases that Lady Tremaine may have done something much worse in return to kick off their feud — worse than having Cinderella’s father killed? “I mean, if I told you that then I’d have to kill you,” Ramirez jokes. “I think Lady Tremaine is going to end up being responsible for way more than that, and that’s going to play a big part as to where not only my anger, but revenge aspect of my motivation comes from.”
But for Anwar, the revelation about Lady Tremaine’s daughter provided more insight into the villain’s motivations, particularly as it pertains to her dour relationship with her other daughter Drizella (Adelaide Kane). “There are no lengths she wouldn’t go to in order to revive her firstborn child,” Anwar says. “It’s a very interesting Disney version of our reality. I mean, god forbid a parent should ever favor one child, but let’s admit that there are moments when your other kid, however many you have, may be driving you around the bend, and then you have that one kid who’s smiling and being very pleasant, so you can’t help but swing the favoritism between the children. Because her youngest daughter isn’t alive, all she has is the perfect corpse, the near-death corpse in the coffin to refer to, so this child can do no wrong. She probably has amplified the greatness of that perfection because in reality she’s not even alive. It’s a wonderful concept.”
Drizella, therefore, has been reduced to a punching bag for Lady Tremaine and Victoria as Cinderella’s Evil Stepmother aims to revive her daughter — possibly a reason for the curse that’s trapped everyone in Hyperion Heights. “While Ivy probably mourned her sister, there was always sibling rivalry that Ivy could never quite match up to, even as hard as she tried,” Kane notes. “Besides the grief of losing a sister, I think probably initially she felt some sense of relief that she no longer had this competition and that perhaps maybe she could finally win the approval and the love of her mother that she was never able to have. It might have backfired on her a little bit in that now she gets the brunt of Victoria’s grief and disdain and hatred. She’s caught a lot of the emotional blowback from that death, but there seems to be possible hinting at something deeper than just a sibling rivalry between Drizella and Anastasia, but I don’t know what it is yet. I’m really curious to find out if there are like really odd circumstances surrounding that death.”

𝒍𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 .
@gg-pontos
laoghaire ainsleigh (52) - gabriella anwar
campbell ainsleigh (23) - louis hofmann

Once Upon A Time Watch - Season 7
I DID IT. I FUCKING DID IT. I FINISHED.
Good Things:
Gonna say it right off the bat -- this season isn’t really good? But it’s also not bad. I had a good time watching it and personally, I think it’s stronger than seasons 5 and 6 were.
I love a lot of the new cast:
Andrew J. West as adult Henry
Dania Ramirez as Cinderella/Jacinda
Gabriella Anwar as Tremaine/Bellfrey
Mekia Cox as Tiana/Sabine
Adelaide Kane as Drizella/Ivy
Rose Reynolds as Alice/Tilly
Tiera Skovbye as Robin/Margot
Daniel Francis as Facilier/Samdi
Also, I think it really helps the narrative to make Cinderella a woman of color while her stepfamily is white.
Drizella is the standout new character, and I love the twist that she cast the curse, not her mother. She has a very good and satisfying arc.
For the earlier episodes of the season, I actually like more of the focus on day to day events in Hyperion Heights, rather than grand epic magic. It’s something I missed about season 1 that I’m glad came back.
This season also struck a fairly decent balance between day to day events and grand magical schemes. Characters were woken and regained their memories slowly, until both plots could interweave into one story. It had a few missteps but for the most part worked fairly well.
Alice and Robin are adorable, and I really appreciate the writers letting a lesbian couple finally take the center stage, rather than only being implied (Mulan/Aurora) or only lasting a single episode (Ruby/Dorothy).
I like Tremaine being Rapunzel. That was a nice way to combine the stories. And I much prefer this Rapunzel to the random one-off Rapunzel in season 3.
Tremaine giving her life to save Lucy is a nice touch and a good end to her character. She had a pretty solid arc for the season that I enjoyed.
At first I hated Alice being Nook and Gothel’s daughter, but it’s growing on me. I think because it’s a similar situation to Robin and Zelena, where the woman became pregnant by pretending to be someone else and tricking the man (hey OUAT writers, that’s rape, please remember this), but instead of excusing Zelena they keep Gothel as the villain the whole time, and it’s made very clear that Gothel is not Alice’s mother in any way that matters. It’s also a really nice connection for Nook, since he doesn’t have the relationships with the rest of the cast the same as regular Hook.
I like the finale taking place in the Wish Realm, purely for the sake of all the cameos they can bring in. I wish they’d played that up a bit more, honestly.
Overall, I like Rumple’s ending and his sacrifice. He did the right thing fully believing that he wouldn’t get back to Belle, and that’s ultimately what got him his happy ending with her. Good shit, good shit.
I also like how the entire story turned into Regina’s redemption arc, going full circle from the Evil Queen to the Good Queen. It’s cheesy, but it’s nice.
Bad Things:
It’s really obvious that they only had a handful of the original actors at their disposal. Some characters are unceremoniously written out, while others are awkwardly shoehorned in. They get the hang of it eventually, striking a balance between the old and the new, but for a while the setup is very awkward.
The downtown Seattle setting just isn’t working for me. Storybrooke had a very distinct feel to the entire town, and its locations were almost like characters in and of themselves. Meanwhile Hyperion Heights is just a generic downtown area that doesn’t stand out from the rest of the city at all. Also, people can freely come and go... but only sometimes. It’s very unclear.
Alison Fernandez has little kid charm, for sure, but not enough to really carry the series the way she needs to. I just can’t get attached to her the way I got attached to little kid Henry -- though I think it’s more down to the writing than her performance. They don’t let her carry the story, it’s all wrapped up in the other characters.
While Andrew J. West perfectly captures Henry, he also highlights how dull of a character Henry really is. There’s nothing really distinct about his personality or anything to latch onto for the lead character.
Everything about Rumple this season.
I didn’t care for Rumple and Belle’s final episode with the silly Up montage. And it makes no sense that Rumple spends all those years with no idea how to get rid of the dagger, but then as soon as Belle dies he knows that he needs to find the Guardian. Why didn’t he do that decades ago? That was very unclear.
They also?? Don’t explain what the Guardian is?? Ever?? It’s yet another mysterious title they give to people without ever fucking explaining it. First Anastasia is one. Then for some reason, Alice is, and we’re never given any further info. It’s the multiple Saviors from season 6 all over again.
And then to top it all off, Rumple’s immortality is removed... with the Author’s Pen. You know, something he could have found ages ago. He’s a smart dude, he would have thought of that.
Honestly, Rumple has lost all of his presence and power. It’s like he’s background noise, and it’s a waste of Robert Carlyle.
There's too many competing villains in too short a span of time, and they keep trying to one up each other. Like it’s a twist, there was secretly an even bigger villain behind it all. It’s like matryoshka dolls, but with half-assed villains. And I don't like the chief one being Gothel. There’s nothing wrong with her, but she’s just not nearly as compelling as Tremaine, Drizella, or Facilier.
The repeated Dark Curses start to feel like a cop out, but Drizella managing it without crushing anyone’s heart is the biggest cop out of all.
Robin and Zelena's mother daughter squabbles are really forced and feel like something out of a bad Disney channel original movie.
Why the hell does the curse go back in time as well? It doesn’t add anything but confusion. Now it could have been really cool if they’d shown Henry’s phone conversation only from young Henry’s side in the premiere, and that’s what prompted him to wander the realms. They could have left the mystery of that for the entire season, making for a satisfying reveal. The way it was set up, it just seems odd. It’s like they realized last minute that they had a timeline error and hastily wrote this in to cover for it.
The finale’s big bad is Wish Realm Rumplestiltskin, which is... okay. But feels repetitive since we’ve been so used to Rumple for so long.
I... I don’t understand how Rumple’s sacrifice wound up killing the other Rumple. They didn’t explain that. It’s not like characters split with the Jekyll/Hyde serum, where that’s clearly established as a rule -- these are two different versions of the same character, I... I don’t... yeah, okay.

Happy birthday Prince Harry: Iconic images documenting every stage of his life from baby to lieutenant to husband

Happy birthday Prince Harry: Iconic images documenting every stage of his life from baby to lieutenant to husband
Prince Harry’s life has been celebrated in over 50 iconic images in our special birthday feature – pictured (L-R) in Afghanistan in 2007, on his wedding day in 2018 and with his mother, Diana, Princess Of Wales, in 1986, aged two (Picture: Getty)
Prince Harry will today be celebrating his 34th birthday – his first birthday as a married man.
Thirty-four years ago on 15 September 1984, a young prince was born.
The younger brother of Prince William, the future King of England, and the second and youngest son of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess Of Wales, Harry has grown up in the public eye.
Born Henry Charles Albert David, he became known as Harry to family and friends and the moniker soon stuck.
While it’s likely you’ve not been invited to Harry’s birthday party today, don’t fret: celebrate the red-headed royal’s birthday by taking a trip down memory lane with our vast collection of images documenting Harry’s life from birth to marriage.

Here, we give you, Prince Harry through the years…
A Prince is born
The Prince and Princess of Wales following the birth of their second son, Prince Harry (Picture: PA Archive/PA Images)
Harry was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, on 15 September 1984 at 4.20pm. He weighed 6lb 14oz.
It’s long been a royal family tradition for royal babies to be photographed for the first time in their mother’s arms on the steps of the Lindo Wing and Prince Charles and Diana, Princess Of Wales followed suit. They had stayed in hospital overnight, taking Harry – who was third in line to the throne at the time – home to Kensington Palace on Sunday 16 September.
Harry was baptised on Friday 21 December at St George’s Chapel, where, thirty-three years later, he went on to marry Meghan Markle.
Age 1 – Learning to crawl

By the age of one, Prince Harry had mastered the art of crawling.
Here, he is pictured in action at home in Kensington Palace on 4 October 1985, wearing a cute sailor-inspired outfit.
Age 2 – The cheekiness start to show

At two, it was clear from family photos that Harry was growing into the cheeky younger brother he is still seen as today.
Here, Harry is pictured at the start of the festive season on 1 December 1986 along with Prince William, Charles, Diana and their pet Jack Russell terrier Tigga, who was born the same year as Harry.

Age 3 – Off to nursery

Just one day after his third birthday in 1987, Prince Harry was heading to nursery.
On 16 September, Harry had his first day at Mrs Jane Mynors nursery school in London’s Notting Hill and was pictured confidently waving to paparazzi as he arrived in his cute matching blue uniform and Thomas The Tank Engine school bag.
What was that about him being cheeky?
Prince Harry, aged three, sticks his tongue out while a well-behaved Prince William looks out at the crowds at Trooping The Colour in June 1988. Also pictured is Lady Gabriella Windsor and Lady Rose Windsor (Picture: Tim Graham/Getty Images)
Age 4 – First day at school
Princess Diana stands with her sons on the steps of Wetherby School (Picture: Tim Graham/Getty Images)
Just before his fifth birthday, Harry started primary school on 11 September 1989. And the pictures melted the nation.
Official photos were released of Harry and William stood on the steps of Wetherby School in their smart uniforms with matching hats and socks.
The cutest part of this moment is the way Harry is looking up adoringly at his big brother with a big smile on his face, while the ever-professional William looks straight on at the cameras to pose for the milestone moment.
Harry went on to attend Ludgrove School before enrolling at Eton College.
Age 5 – An army boy in the making

Prince Harry’s desire to work in the army may have been visible as early as when he was five-years-old.

Age 6 – One of many family trips to the slopes

The royals love a trip to the slopes and in April 1991, Harry enjoyed his first of many in Lech in Austria.
Here, the two princes sandwich their mother Diana as they ride a ski lift to the top of some slopes.
Harry is so besotted with the slopes, it’s believed he chose the plush resort of Verbier in the Swiss Alps for his stag do earlier this year, ahead of his wedding to Meghan Markle in May.

Age 7 – A prince in the public eye
Harry enjoys Trooping The Colour with his mother and the Queen Mother (Picture: Julian Parker/UK Press via Getty Images)
Diana may have ensured her two boys grew up enjoying ‘normal’ activities – such as trips to Disneyland or playing hide and seek around their home – but Harry was still a prince in the public eye and he knew how to behave.
Here, suddenly looking like a mature young man, Harry acted the picture-perfect great-grandson for the Trooping The Colour in June 1992 at the age of seven, riding a carriage along with his mother and his great-grandmother, The Queen Mother.

Age 8 – Thorpe Park family days
Diana, William and Harry ride Loggers Leap at Thorpe Park – this photo went on to become one of the most iconic shots of Diana enjoying down time with her sons (Picture: Julian Parker/UK Press via Getty Images)
It was evident how important it was for Diana to spend quality time with her boys, just like this fun day out to Thorpe Park they enjoyed on 13 April 1993.
Videos and photos of their day out – which saw them joined on the rides by Thorpe Park’s General Manager Colin Dawson, while royal protection officers followed them around – showing them all having a whale of a time. And Diana rocked casual-chic in her Hard Rock jacket.
This visit was their third year in a row but there was no special treatment for the royals – Diana had insisted they queued for all of the rides, just like all of the other thrill-seekers.

Age 9 – Time to hit the slopes again
William, Diana and Harry enjoy yet another ski trip (Picture: PA Archive/PA Images)
Here, pictured on 27 March 1994, a nine-year-old Prince Harry joins his brother and mother on a horse-drawn sleigh as they leave their hotel in Lech following another skiing trip.
Age 10 – A young boy very close to his mother

When Harry was 10, he’d already mastered the slopes so no doubt showed off his skills to younger cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Here are some adorable images showing William, Harry, Beatrice and Eugenie on a ski trip in Klosters on 4 January 1995.

Mummy’s boy
Harry’s love for his mum is shown beautifully in these photos of Diana and a ten-year-old Prince Harry.

Age 11 – Boys will be boys
Harry and William can’t keep straight faces during all royal events, can they? (Picture: Tim Graham/Getty Images)
This photo of Harry and William in July 1996, when Harry was 11 and William 14, shows their bond, their cheekiness and how Diana’s desire of them to have fun and not be stifled was a reality.

Father and son time

Harry often enjoyed quality time with either his mum or dad, here pictured watching the Wales v Scotland game in the Five Nation Championship at Cardiff Arms Park in Wales on 17 February 1996.
Age 12 – The toughest year of Harry’s life
Charles, Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, take part in a shoot at Sandringham in November 1996 (Picture: Julian Parker/UK Press via Getty Images)
When Prince Harry turned 12, he faced the hardest time of his life.
Pictured above with Prince Charles, Harry is seen taking part in a shoot at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk in November 1996 – three months after his parents divorced.
However, nine months later on 31 August 1997, when Harry was still aged 12, his world came crashing down around him as his mother, Diana, Princess Of Wales, was killed in a car crash in Paris.
The horrific accident happened just two weeks before Harry’s 13th birthday. He and William had been in the Royal Family’s Scottish holiday home Balmoral with their father and cousins at the time.

The Windsor family tradition had been to send children to Gordonstoun in Scotland. Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward had all been schooled there, but Eton was the school Diana’s side of the family had attended.

On 13 January 2005, when Harry was 20-years-old, he was caught in his biggest controversy to date.
While his party-loving side was well documented in the press, he found himself in serious troubled when he was photographed at Highgrove House at a Colonial and Native themed costume party wearing a Nazi German Afrika Korps uniform complete with a swastika armband. Prince William was also at the party and had decided to dress as a lion.
Harry ended up issuing a public statement saying sorry for his tasteless choice of costume.
His statement, issued by Clarence House, said: ‘I am very sorry if I have caused any offence or embarrassment to anyone. It was a poor choice of costume and I apologise.’
A spokesman for Clarence House added: ‘The Prince of Wales knows Prince Harry is very sorry if he has caused offence.’ It was reported at the time that Charles had ordered Harry to pay a private visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland to reflect.
A happier time: His father’s wedding

Having joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on 8 May 2005 after his gap year, Harry began army life as Officer Cadet Wales. One year later, in April 2006 he completed his officer training and became a Cornet (second lieutenant) in the Blues And Royals, which is a regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army. By April 2008, Harry was made a lieutenant.
Before it was decided Harry would be deployed to Afghanistan in 2007, there had been a public debate over whether the third in line to the throne should be allowed to fight on the front line.

Harry had expressed his wishes to go, saying at the time: ‘There’s no way I’m going to put myself through Sandhurst and then sit on my arse back home while my boys are out fighting for their country.’
However, by May, it was announced that he would no longer be allowed to go as threats to his life had been made which put his fellow soldiers at risk.
The following year, following further training, the Ministry Of Defence revealed Harry had been secretly deployed as a Forward Air Controller to Helmand Province in Afghanistan and he’d been there for the previous 10 weeks.
There had been a blackout placed on the information to protect Harry and his comrades’ lives but it soon leaked.

Age 32 – His romance with Meghan goes public
Prince Harry is pictured wearing a headress given to him by dancers in Surama Village in the Guyana Hinterland on day 13 of an official visit to the Caribbean (Picture: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)
On 8 November 2016, Kensington Palace confirmed that, following months of speculation, Prince Harry was dating American actress Meghan Markle.
But it wasn’t the fact he’d finally confirmed the romance that made the headlines – it was his furious statement to the press and public in which he defended her that stole the news.
Above, Harry is pictured on 3 December 2016 – one month following his statement on Meghan – in Surama, Guyana, during his royal visit to the Caribbean.
Kensington Palace statement in full
‘Since he was young, Prince Harry has been very aware of the warmth that has been extended to him by members of the public. He feels lucky to have so many people supporting him and knows what a fortunate and privileged life he leads.
He is also aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life. He has never been comfortable with this, but he has tried to develop a thick skin about the level of media interest that comes with it.
He has rarely taken formal action on the very regular publication of fictional stories that are written about him and he has worked hard to develop a professional relationship with the media, focused on his work and the issues he cares about.
But the past week has seen a line crossed. His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.
Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.
Some of it has been hidden from the public – the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.
Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.
It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms Markle should be subjected to such a storm.
He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.
He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done. He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly.’
Age 33 – Harry and Meghan’s debut, a royal engagement and a royal wedding

It was on 25 September 2017 that Harry and Meghan made their public debut at the Invictus Games in Toronto.
On 27 November, the happy couple announced they were engaged to be married and on 19 May 2018, they tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

So Dania Ramirez will be Lucy's mother? Gabriella Anwar will the the new evil?
We don’t know any of that. Or even enough to guess. Other than that I hope that neither Kane nor Reynolds are Lucy’s mother.
