Cracking the Code: How to Choose Winning Lottery Numbers
For many, the lottery represents a tantalizing chance to strike it rich overnight. The allure of hitting the jackpot is undeniable, but the odds seem overwhelmingly stacked against hopeful players. Yet, amidst the randomness of lottery draws, some strategies and patterns emerge that might just increase your chances of winning. In this article, we delve into the art and science of selecting winning lottery numbers.
Understanding the Odds
First and foremost, it's essential to grasp the odds at play. Lotteries are designed to be highly profitable for the organizers, which means the chances of winning big are typically slim. However, every lottery has its own set of odds, which can vary widely depending on factors such as the number of balls in play and the specific rules of the game.
For example, in a typical 6/49 lottery, where players must select six numbers from a pool of 49, the odds of winning the jackpot are around 1 in 14 million. These are daunting odds, to say the least, but they can be slightly improved with strategic number selection.
Avoid Common Combinations
One strategy that many lottery enthusiasts swear by is avoiding common number combinations. These include sequences like 1-2-3-4-5-6 or birthdays (which limit you to numbers 1 through 31). While such combinations are just as likely to be drawn as any other, the downside is that if they do hit, you're more likely to share the jackpot with other winners, diminishing your payout.
Embrace Randomness
Lottery draws are inherently random, so it follows that your number selection should be as well. Avoid falling into the trap of using special dates or lucky numbers exclusively. Instead, consider employing a random number generator or Quick Pick option offered by many lotteries. By embracing randomness, you maximize your chances of avoiding commonly chosen numbers and increase the likelihood of having a unique combination in the event of a win.
Statistical Analysis
For those inclined towards a more analytical approach, statistical analysis can offer some insights into potentially fruitful number combinations. While past draws have no bearing on future outcomes, studying historical data can reveal patterns such as frequently drawn numbers or overdue digits. However, it's essential to approach such analysis with caution and to remember that the lottery is ultimately a game of chance.
Pooling Resources
Another popular strategy is to pool resources with friends, family, or colleagues to purchase multiple tickets. While this doesn't increase your odds of winning per se, it does allow you to play more combinations without breaking the bank. Just be sure to establish clear agreements regarding how any potential winnings will be split to avoid conflicts down the line.
Playing Responsibly
Ultimately, it's crucial to approach the lottery with a sense of fun and moderation. While the dream of striking it rich can be intoxicating, it's essential to remember that the odds are overwhelmingly against you. Only spend what you can afford to lose, and don't let the pursuit of wealth overshadow other aspects of your life.
In conclusion, while there's no foolproof method for picking winning lottery numbers, there are strategies you can employ to increase your chances, however slight they may be. Whether you opt for random selection, statistical analysis, or pooling resources, the key is to approach the game with a combination of optimism and realism. After all, as the saying goes, you've got to be in it to win it.

You can’t win if you don’t play.
That’s what the PowerBall ad said. I could pay $2 for a ticket and possibly win a $20 million jackpot. Of course, I have a 99.9999997 percent chance of losing which may be why my stats teacher used to say that the lottery was a tax on people who didn’t pay attention in her class.
Still, the lottery says, you probably won’t win but imagine if you did. Imagine being $20 million richer overnight. You can’t win if you don’t play.
What’s left is a risk/benefit analysis. There’s almost no chance of winning, so how good or bad of an idea it is to play the lottery comes down to how much someone can afford to lose the $2 (or however much they are spending on tickets.) If someone can easily afford it then they might decide that it’s no big deal then even though there is almost no chance they will win. However, if someone is in a position where they need $2 to pay for food, rent, gas etc. then they might decide that the risk is too high.
Or they might decide that the chance of winning $20 million is too much to give up - and you can’t win if you don’t play. People get to make that choice.
So why am I going on about the lottery in a newsletter about the intersections of weight science, weight stigma, and healthcare?
Because I hear a similar type of “logic” all the time from the weight loss industry, lay people, even doctors. Sure, weight loss might not work, they say, but you’ll never lose weight if you don’t try.
I’ve noticed over the time that I’ve been talking about/teaching about the failure rate of intentional weight loss interventions, there has been a shift in the most common response when I explain that about a century of research shows that intentional weight loss fails about 95% of the time (only 4.9999997% less than the lottery, but who’s counting.) In the early days they would say something like “that statistic is just from one study in the 1950’s” (which is false). Now, a much more common response is something like “That’s true, but you just have to keep trying until you get in the 5%.”
Now, I’m aware that not everyone studied statistics, and that’s completely reasonable. (And while they teach statistics in medical school, they teach a lot of things in medical school so it’s understandable if a med school student was so busy trying to figure out what the spleen does or how to diagnose lupus that they didn’t exactly give statistics their all.) But I did study statistics and I can tell you, that’s not how it works.
Besides being, essentially, lottery logic, there’s the assumption that past/current attempts do not impact future attempts (that is, it’s based on an unproven assumption that a weight-loss attempt that results in losing and regaining weight will not impact the chances of success of the next attempt.) Moreover, it ignores the fact that when weight loss interventions fail (and let’s be clear that it’s the interventions that fail, not the people attempting them) that failure is not benign. People are harmed by unsuccessful weight loss interventions.
Imagine if they changed the lottery rules so that if you failed to match any of the numbers you had to pay $5. What if it was $10? Or $100?
What if it was your health?
Weight cycling (losing weight and then regaining weight) is the outcome of the vast majority of intentional weight loss attempts. It is also independently correlated to numerous mental and physical health issues including high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and increased overall mortality. (I have an in-depth piece about this here.) That changes the risk benefit analysis considerably.

Earning Your Keep
Analogical (Virgil & Logan)
This story will be a series for the sugar daddy idea i've had running around in my head for some time now lmao. I really hope you guys like it since I enjoy writing it :)
Read it on AO3!
Virgil likes to take care of those he holds close, and maybe also a stranger that offered him a ride home.
Virgil was never rich. His family was big and his parents couldn’t make very many ends meet for most of his life, leading him to work his way through school. Once he graduated with a bachelors in psychology, he picked up two jobs to start paying off his loans, one in retail which drove his mental health into the ground, and the other as a behavioral health tech at a rehab center, which only had night-shift positions open and kept him up all night. He was paid and treated like shit, and on the cusp of breaking down when he got extremely lucky. For his 27th birthday he got the usual card with a cheesy message from his grandparents, but instead of the typical twenty bucks or a gift card, he found a lottery ticket sitting neatly inside. He didn’t think much of it, handing it over to the convenience store clerk when he was picking up an energy drink before his next shift.
“I don’t think this is worth anything, but if it has anything on it can I just use it to pay for this?” Virgil put his drink on the counter while the clerk scanned the ticket.
“Woah, woah. Oh my god.”
“What?”
“Dude, you just won.”
“Huh?” Virgil knit his brow in confusion. He glanced over at the cashier’s screen, noticing the rather large number it displayed.
“Yeah, you won the jackpot! It’s over like 200 million! Holy shit! Here, sign it and take it to a lawyer!” The person handed him back the slip of paper and a pen. Virgil’s brain had short-circuited, causing him to just follow instructions. He didn’t really understand what was happening, so he just took the ticket back and walked out and back to his car, driving straight home and immediately typing ‘what to do if you win the lottery’ into his computer.
A bunch of results came up saying a bunch of stuff- tax experts, lawyers, and a bunch of steps that caused Virgil to lay down on his bed and rock back and forth for a little while. He didn’t believe this was happening to him. Maybe it wasn’t real? This was just a nightmare right? A really good bad nightmare.
All the things he saw online said not to tell anyone, but he couldn’t just sit there not making a decision. He picked up the phone and dialed the only person he knew who could possibly help him out.
~~~~~~~~~~
“You what ?” Janus’ voice hissed through the speakers on Virgil's phone, “Is this some weird joke, because it isn’t landing well.”
“No, no, I promise it's real, I-I checked and the numbers match up and I verified it at the gas station and, and-”
“Virgil, breathe. Calm down. I’m coming over so we can talk. I’ll help you get this figured out, and make sure you aren’t having delusions of grandeur.” Janus sighed, “I’ll be there in 10.”
Janus was over shortly, Virgil working with him to figure out the next course of action. Everything was going so fast. The next day Janus helped him set up meetings and accounts, and get lawyers and a budget going. The week flew by in between the contracts and calls. Even the next few months seemed to go by in a blur of bureaucratic processes.
The first thing he did was set his parents up with a decent place to live and help them with their debts and medical bills. He did the same for himself, getting his student loans paid off finally and allowing himself to move into a spacey yet cozy penthouse. He quit both his jobs, but tried to end on a good note with his boss at the clinic in case he did ever want to go back. He was, probably for the first time in his life, comfortable.
~~~~~~~~~~
Time kept passing and Virgil had to now figure out what he wanted to spend his time on. He’d picked up his passion for music again now that he could afford nice equipment, but never had the intent to go anywhere with it. He looked into some online classes he could take, just for fun and to keep his mind stimulated. He even worked with Janus and some of his lawyers to start a charity for helping disabled students with loans that didn’t have the luck that he had. That was as close to a job as he had, once they had an office set up he made a regular schedule to help sort things out with it.
The routine he made helped him adjust to his new life. Getting up, going to the office, processing applications, working on his classes and playing music. He didn’t really spend his money anymore beyond his needs. Nothing fancy brought him much happiness. He didn’t host parties or have many friends that hung out with him before he became well off. He’d tried to go on a few dates, but the people he’d seen either knew him from the news when he originally won or they’d act disinterested until he brought up his money. The one time he actually thought he’d found someone he was interested in, the guy had thrown a fit that he wanted to end their 3rd date early to not have a panic attack.
They went to a planetarium, which for the most part Virgil enjoyed, but the segment about how small of a spec the earth was in the grand scheme of the universe triggered the existentialist anxiety of dying alone and not mattering. He had to run out and go calm down, but that proved difficult with his date shouting.
“Do you know how fucking rude it is to just run out on your date? I had to pay for these tickets, you know, and they aren’t cheap!”
“I-I know, i’m sorry, I can, um, here I’ll pay you back-” Virgil started to reach for his wallet.
“Whatever, it’s fine, let’s just see if they’ll let us back in, cmon.” The guy tugged at Virgil’s arm.
“Um…Actually I was wondering if…s-sorry uh, could- could we just go home?”
“What, are you not having a nice night? You could at least not waste my time, you know.”
“I know, I'm really sorry, we should- maybe, uh… you can go and I’ll just head home and call an uber-”
“Ugh are you serious?” His date frowned, “You know what? Just go, I don’t wanna deal with this anymore. Don’t call me again, we’re done.”
He watched his date head back into the planetarium and sighed, resigning himself to a bench outside to shake off the rejection. He shivered as a spike of anxiety hit him. He had to count his breaths, but it wasn’t working. He was gonna end up alone and live a completely inconsequential life that had no impact whatsoever and-
“Are you alright?”
Virgil looked over at a man a few feet away from him. He stood tall, sporting glasses and a polo with the logo of the planetarium. Virgil didn’t couldn’t quite make out the name on the man’s name tag through his watery eyes. Oh shit, was he crying? No no no this couldn’t happen in public, he was a grown man crying in public-
“Oh, apologies, I didn’t mean to startle you. I just thought I should intervene.” The man looked at Virgil with concern, “May I sit?”
Virgil nodded, easing slightly as he did. He took a shaky breath and wiped away his tears, “I-I’m so-sor-ry. I could-n’t stay in there. S-sorry.”
“There’s no need to apologize, take as much time as you need to gather yourself.” He spoke calmly. His tone comforted Virgil enough to steady his breathing and collect his thoughts.
“I’m…I’m good. Sorry.” Virgil sighed, “Just had a shitty date.”
The man frowned, “I see. Was he your ride home?”
Virgil nodded, “Figured I’d just get a cab or something.”
“Don’t waste your money, my shift just ended. If you’re comfortable with it I’d be happy to offer you a way home.”
“No no I can’t, I mean- It’s fine it’s not like money’s the issue I just don’t wanna leave him here alone.”
“After he just left you?”
Virgil looked towards the doors of the planetarium. He slumped his shoulders in resignation, “I guess you’re right.”
“I don’t mean to intrude on your personal affairs, but he is not worth your time if he does not respect your boundaries, and I don’t feel comfortable leaving you in a potentially unsafe environment. I would feel much more assured if I knew you returned home unharmed.”
“Fuck it, ok.” Virgil sighed. He looked over at the man and was able to see him a little more clearly. His name tag attached to a Dr. Who lanyard read Logan in bold font. He looked rather lanky and had bags under his eyes comparable to Virgil’s own.
“Would you like another minute to calm down or would you like to walk with me to my car now? I don’t mind waiting.”
“Uh, no, we can go now. Th-thank you, um, Logan.” Virgil offered a half smile.
“Of course, uh…”
“Virgil.”
“Virgil.” The man- Logan, stood up and motioned for the other to follow him.
Virgil stood and accompanied him to the car. It wasn’t the fanciest thing in the world, far from it. It looked like one of the windows had been punched out and was covered with cardboard and duct tape. It looked like an older car, and when they got in Logan had to start the engine a few times before it actually got running.
“Please excuse the state of my car,” Logan said pulling his seatbelt on, “I’d fix the window on my own if I could but I’ve been too busy to do so. Here, do you mind putting your address in so I can get directions?”
Logan handed Virgil his phone, the other quickly inputting the info and handing it back. Virgil fastened his own seatbelt as they drove out of the parking lot.
“So, you work at the planetarium?”
“My shirt indicates so.”
“Right.” Virgil nodded, “What started that?”
“I needed a part-time job to work during nights while I attended college. I studied astronomy and a professor recommended applying for the position. The job just stuck after I graduated.”
“That sounds pretty cool. You get to go to all those shows, right?”
“No, I get to sit in the ticket booth.”
“Oh.” Virgil looked out the window as they drove, “I didn’t realize.”
“It's alright,” Logan said, shrugging, “I’ve seen them all anyway, when I had more free time.”
“You can’t take a day off?”
Logan’s lips pursed, “Not really. I work two other jobs.”
They both spent the rest of the ride in silence until the car approached the area where Virgil lived.
“You…live over here?” Logan questioned, looking around at the tall, well-kept buildings of the city.
“Um, yeah. I guess.” Virgil sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, “I moved here a few months ago. Doesn’t feel like it though.”
Logan hummed in acknowledgement, still looking around at how different this place seemed compared to where he lived. He pulled up to a decorative building with too many stories to count from his view. He parked the car and turned to Virgil.
“Thank you for allowing me to take you home. I’m sorry you had a rough night but hopefully you’ll find someone else that will accommodate your needs appropriately.” Logan offered a smile.
Virgil returned it, before clumsily reaching to take off his seatbelt and pull out his wallet, “Uh, here.”
He offered a wad of cash to Logan, who in return pushed it back, “No, please don’t worry about covering gas. It isn’t far from my-”
“Take it. Get your window fixed too. And if you need anything else just, um, give me a call or something. Thanks again, Logan.” Virgil said, getting out of the car and shutting the door.
Logan watched him greet the doorman (his building had a doorman?) and head to his apartment, before staring down at the cash. It added up to about $350, plus Virgil's business card. He blinked and debated trying to go after him, but decided he wouldn’t be able to find him since he didn’t know which apartment was his. He pulled out his own wallet and stuffed the cash inside. The card Virgil had given him had his name and number, along with the name of a charity Logan heard the name of a few times from the news. This was too much to process, so Logan just put the card in with the cash and drove home. That was a problem for someone much more well rested.
~~~~~~~~~~
Virgil flopped down on his bed as soon as he got home. He pulled out his phone and immediately blocked his date’s number, writing him off as just another insensitive asshole trying to take advantage of him. He let his mind relax in the safety of his home and tried to just forget about tonight. Except Logan. He couldn’t get him out of his mind.
Working two jobs had Virgil on the verge of a panic attack almost every night, he couldn’t imagine working three like Logan had. And how long had he been driving that car? Wasn’t it dangerous to drive when your engine doesn’t turn over and you don’t have a window? Those bags under his eyes, was he not sleeping well? Was the money he gave him enough to cover everything?
Virgil exhaled through his nose and flipped onto his back. These were morning problems. Or at least wake up at 3 am and worry about life problems. He glanced at his clock- 10:30. Definitely something to deal with tomorrow.
Found Souls Chapter III
*Flashback Time*
It’s been a week since Marinette and her parents moved to Gotham with the help of Jagged Stone.
He was born and raised in the city of crime and expanded out of the US with the growth of his popularity, settling in France after meeting Anarka.
Her parents have been going back and forth with all the paperwork they have to deal with. Thankfully, they had already taken care of most of it while still in France. However, it seems that the US loves paper because even though they’ve mostly settled in their apartment in one of the more excellent areas of Gotham - courtesy of one Jagged “I won’t allow my favourite niece and her parents to live anywhere but in the best part of Gotham” Stone (Lord bless Penny for having intervened and convinced him to get somewhere else that was not the heart of Gotham) - they still have a couple more things to take care of before they can officially open a french bakery.
They moved in hopes of getting better and more experienced doctors in the wings field to see if anyone could find whatever was wrong with her and the development of her wings.
So far, the only thing she accomplished was getting pitied by the majority of the student body at GA - which is quite the feat since those rich brats couldn’t care less about anyone but themselves.
Her class was very understanding and assisted with whatever was necessary, sometimes even going out of their way to help her.
The only thing that bothered her was when they tried to help her with things she was already used to doing without her wings. It’s not that she’s not grateful, but she wishes they’d stop treating her like glass or like she could not do anything by herself. It’s not like she hadn’t been wingless her entire life.
HOWEVER, one person didn’t treat her like that, which was Damian Wayne. But, at that point, she was pretty sure that that was just his personality, not his rudeness. There’s been a couple of instances where he aided her and even called out her classmates for doing unnecessary things for her at the beginning - like carrying her backpack or opening the door and clearing the hallway for her to walk through (both of which she does not require wings to do).
That didn’t mean he didn’t help her when needed. He was just more subtle than her classmates. For example, when she’s put on class duties, he assists with things she can’t reach, not just because of her short stature but because they were placed at a height made for people who sported wings. Or their occasional meetings in the library where he’d see her struggle, sit at her table, and help her catch up to the few materials she had missed in her transfer period.
Regardless, she was enjoying her stay at Gotham Academy and had to admit she had high expectations for the future. Be it in the research for her wingless state or for the new experiences a new country, new life, in general, would bring her.
However, she never expected her future to dance around the Ice Prince of GA as much as it did.
What had first started as them sitting together, per the teacher's commands, so he could help her locate herself academically and, thus, catch up to her peers, became every teacher’s dream, resulting in them being paired up for most projects. And if it was a group project, it usually was the two of them and what seemed like a lottery to pick the other member(s). And even when it was a free choice of who your partner would be, they ended up with each other.
At that point, they had resigned to being paired up and got so used to the other being on the same level that on the ONE occasion, a substitute teacher paired them with different people, and they found it to be a massive headache. Most of the work fell on them, and they vowed never to complain about being paired up again.
This “truce,” if you will, didn’t come easy for them because even if they were even in classroom projects and assignments, they still seemed to be competing for first place in the GA end-of-month evaluation podium.
Apparently, at the end of each month, they’d be evaluated for behaviour, accomplishments, and other specifics, plus their fixed grades. And they’d either be first or tie up with each other.
At first, Damian took it as a competition to prove himself worthy of first place and better than the foreign transfer student could ever hope to be. But then, he saw her skills. For the first time, he saw someone who could keep up with him on almost all levels - and that was when he accepted her as an equal, even if he’d never admit it to anyone else.
Eventually, they had dropped all facades of an academic rivalry, only to have everyone still placing bets against their backs on who’d win the EoM Evaluation. So, they gave everyone the show they wanted, keeping the ruse of rivalry and making the other win “against the bets” just because they could.
Their few friends would consider them little menaces to society, and Damian’s brothers, for once, wouldn’t be able to help but agree with the rich gremlins of GA.
( NICK ROBINSON . MALE . HE/HIM ) - the chicago resident , ELLIOT WEAVER , was heard blaring END OF BEGINNING / DJO this morning . the TWENTY-NINE year old is a lottery winner in the city & has lived the EAST tower for TWO MONTHS . since being here , they have been told to be GLUM , but also GENEROUS , i guess we'll find out soon ! [ MAD, 27, THEY/THEM, PST ]
Name: Elliot Timothy Weaver Nicknames: Eli, Ellie, E.T. Age: 29 Birthday: October 15th, 1994 FC: Nick Robinson Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him/His Sexuality: Bisexual Height: 5′11 Blood Type: A+ Build: Medium Vices: Cannabis, Alcohol, Cigarettes Favorite Colors: Red & Orange
History
Elliot grew up entirely average. Greatness wasn't in store for the middle Weaver child. His older brother was a football star and his younger sister was a pageant queen and as a result his parents attention was usually used up in pursuing his siblings dreams. Elliot never minded much. His nose was typically buried in a book as he was dragged along for support to his siblings endeavors. As he grew up the more Eli branched out on his own. He found himself friends with the band geeks and nerds more than the popular crowd his family was drawn to. He was never prom royalty but he also never wanted to be and he was entirely content. He had a girlfriend whom he loved and friends who he could depend on, what more could he ask for? When Elliot graduated high school he decided to stick around in Amarillo. The town might be small but it was his home and after a few years at the local community college he got a job in auto insurance. He was still with the same girl from high school who he proposed to at the age of twenty-six after being together for ten years. Life was good for Eli and he saw his whole future ahead of. Marriage, a couple of kids running around, and a small house he'd call home, maybe even a white picket fence. All of that changed one fateful afternoon in August of 2023. Elliot came home on his lunch break only to catch his fiance with another man. He was heartbroken and the simple life he'd had planned for himself was ruined. The engagement was off then and there and Eli quickly spun downward. Life had gone to shit. His fiance moved out (and in with the guy she'd been cheating with) and Elliot spent most nights drinking and wallowing in self pity. Things couldn't have gotten any worse and miraculous it didn't. Almost two months after his break up Elliot's life would change again. He was never much of a gambler but one night when buying cigarettes he decided to purchase a lottery ticket from the gas station. Never in Eli's wildest dreams did he expect to actually win but he did. 16.8 million dollars to be exact. His life changed overnight once again. His achievement became the biggest story to hit Amarillo history in the last 20 years and it seemed everyone who'd ever known Elliot was coming out of the woodwork including his ex. Everyone put a bad taste in his mouth and after he'd been coerced into giving away nearly a million dollars to various different people in a very short period of time Elliot went into hiding. He could no longer trust the people closest to him as they all seemed to turn green with envy or fat with greed. His new found wealth made him incredibly lonely and forced him to outgrow his town he'd once called home. Elliot settled on Chicago because he'd always wanted to visit the city and wanted a complete change of pace and be somewhere he could blend in.
Headcanons
Elliot's life is a mess. He's still recovering from his recent breakup over the summer and now that he's a millionaire he really doesn't know how to act. One minute he's celebrating and the next he's crying because his Spotify Wrapped playlist reminds him of home.
He is the embodiment of the meme "If I ever win the lottery I won't tell anybody but there will be signs". He doesn't boast about his wealth but he's definitely treating himself and is very generous with his money. He has been known to give 50% to 100% tips at businesses around town.
He's stopped doing laundry all together. Now he simply donates his clothes and buys new ones when he needs them. Laundry has always been his least favorite chore and now that he doesn't have to clean his clothes he won't.
He spontaneously drops twenty dollar bills around just to brighten people's days.
There's always a pile of packages waiting for him at his mailbox. Half the time he doesn't know what he's ordered because he's developed a late night spending habit whenever he can't sleep.
Guess whos back:
Ahaha just another (reasonable) commonality b/w us! 🙅♀️❄️
Yes, please go ahead and tell her, thank you bestie! Hey how does one say "take a chance on me" in French? Jokes, but I always so love your Lou-Tea support after my run in this summer😊. Also perhaps I need to become more of a Wings supporter in light of recent events?? (I'll discuss briefly later in the post)
So wow TCU ended up getting NC State. And I think IU over Stanford qualifies as a minor upset. Ive caught very little UK so far, so appreciated your thoughts. Def bummed I missed the LVille matchup that went OT. I did see Wildcats struggled to beat up inferior opposition today before a big 4th Q. Will be curious to keep following - you may prove right about a SEC adjustment period 🤷♀️. Kinda relatedly, and I saw other anons mention the news story here, I see that Liz posted an insta story about the KMew pregnancy announcement. She really is just one of us huh lol. Also funny to me since GA seemed the soccer obsessed one while Kitley was pretty casual.
I certainly dont think there were many UConn supporters who wouldve enjoyed the game vs UNC as a whole. But early days, not much reason for freak outs in Nov, as weve said. Im looking forward to the Bahamas tourney bringing more competitive matchups following FDU.
Oh the W draft lottery results.. First of course Im still sad a miracle didnt end up happening for my Mystics. And in a more neutral perspective you cant tell me that a squad of Paige w Slim, Kira, Li, Dolson, and Ariel Atkins (plus others) wouldnt have been an absolute delight to watch. Not to mention her having fams around for all home games. Now what I say next is likely a bit controversial - but I think Dallas may be the next best landing spot, and Im not quite as upset as some people about the top pick going there. In short I feel that way because I think they seem more serious, put together, and to be genuinely investing in comparison to LA or Chi. And for Paige I wish an ownership & front office that cares.
👀 On a last fun note: Tickled me to see all the PJ talk across your blog, knowing that I first shared a post for you way back becuase it referenced Percabeth parallels w Pazzi. And ofc just the general fact that my dear twin was brought up 🤗.
Wishing you a great start to the week
-☕️
Hi loviiiieeee
Also thank you for your other ask, sending me what I'd missed so I could be all caught up lol. They really were attached at the hip that night huh? My gayass cute babies I adore them <3
I gotchu I gotchu, I'mma send your wife a dm in french telling her I've found the perfect woman and she really must give you a chance because fate is telling me y'all belong together!
Yep yep, TCU got NCState and now they're ranked for the first time in like a hot second. And Kentucky playing so well against Louisville and then struggling against whatever school was kinda insane like it made no sense to me and I'm really curious to see Georgia and her team against SEC competition fr fr.
I love that everyone slowly coming around to what we've been yapping about for months with Liz reposting the pregnancy announcement lmao. Between that and the CC repost, everyone's seeing the light.
I'm with you babes. I've really come around to the Dallas pick especially after the Lynne Roberts higher for LA which I think would've been terrible for Paige. Also Curt seems really excited to have Paige and seems determined to do right by her so I hope he sticks to what he's showing and creates an environment Paige thrives in and hopefully that starts with them figuring out how to keep Satou.
Ah yes you and Annabeth twinsies!!!
#ask#☕️ anon my love <3#when the liz lore spreads more we'll always be able to say we knew first lol
Welcome to Aurora Bay @aurorabayaesthetic, [ELLIOT WEAVER] ! I couldn’t help but notice you look an awful lot like [NICK ROBINSON]. You must be the [TWENTY-NINE] year old [LOTTERY WINNER]. Word is you’re [GENEROUS] but can also be a bit [GLUM] and your favorite song is [END OF BEGINNING BY DJO]. I also heard you’ll be staying in [AURORA BAY DRIVE]. I’m sure you’ll love it!
Name: Elliot Timothy Weaver Nicknames: Eli (preferred name), Ellie, E.T. Age: 29 Birthday: October 15th, 1994 FC: Nick Robinson Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him/His Sexuality: Bisexual Height: 6'1 Blood Type: A+ Build: Medium Vices: Cannabis, Alcohol, Cigarettes Favorite Colors: Red & Orange
History
Elliot grew up entirely average. Greatness wasn't in store for the middle Weaver child. His older brother was a football star and his younger sister was a pageant queen and as a result his parents attention was usually used up in pursuing his siblings dreams. Elliot never minded much. His nose was typically buried in a book as he was dragged along for support to his siblings endeavors. As he grew up the more Eli branched out on his own. He found himself friends with the band geeks and nerds more than the popular crowd his family was drawn to. He was never prom royalty but he also never wanted to be and he was entirely content. He had a girlfriend whom he loved and friends who he could depend on, what more could he ask for? When Elliot graduated high school he decided to stick around in Amarillo. The town might be small but it was his home and after a few years at the local community college he got a job in auto insurance. He was still with the same girl from high school who he proposed to at the age of twenty-six after being together for ten years. Life was good for Eli and he saw his whole future ahead of. Marriage, a couple of kids running around, and a small house he'd call home, maybe even a white picket fence. All of that changed one fateful afternoon in August of 2023. Elliot came home on his lunch break only to catch his fiance with another man. He was heartbroken and the simple life he'd had planned for himself was ruined. The engagement was off then and there and Eli quickly spun downward. Life had gone to shit. His fiance moved out (and in with the guy she'd been cheating with) and Elliot spent most nights drinking and wallowing in self pity. Things couldn't have gotten any worse and miraculous it didn't. Almost two months after his break up Elliot's life would change again. He was never much of a gambler but one night when buying cigarettes he decided to purchase a lottery ticket from the gas station. Never in Eli's wildest dreams did he expect to actually win but he did. 16.8 million dollars to be exact. His life changed overnight once again. His achievement became the biggest story to hit Amarillo history in the last 20 years and it seemed everyone who'd ever known Elliot was coming out of the woodwork including his ex. Everyone put a bad taste in his mouth and after he'd been coerced into giving away nearly a million dollars to various different people in a very short period of time Elliot went into hiding. He could no longer trust the people closest to him as they all seemed to turn green with envy or fat with greed. His new found wealth made him incredibly lonely and forced him to outgrow his town he'd once called home. Instead Elliot decided to travel until he figured out where he wanted to call home next. That was how he wound up in Aurora Bay. He'd always heard the weather was nice in southern California and he figured it was as good a place as any to relocate for the time being.
Headcanons
Elliot's life is a mess. He's still recovering from his recent breakup over the summer and now that he's a millionaire he really doesn't know how to act. One minute he's celebrating and the next he's crying because his Spotify Wrapped playlist reminds him of home.
He is the embodiment of the meme "If I ever win the lottery I won't tell anybody but there will be signs". He doesn't boast about his wealth but he's definitely treating himself and is very generous with his money. He has been known to give 50% to 100% tips at businesses around town.
He's stopped doing laundry all together. Now he simply donates his clothes and buys new ones when he needs them. Laundry has always been his least favorite chore and now that he doesn't have to clean his clothes he won't.
He spontaneously drops twenty dollar bills around just to brighten people's days.
There's always a pile of packages waiting for him at his mailbox. Half the time he doesn't know what he's ordered because he's developed a late night spending habit whenever he can't sleep.
Elliot moved into a "small" mansion off Aurora Bay Drive. He's still furnishing it and frankly doesn't know what to do with all the rooms the home has to offer. It's slowly but turning into the ultimate bachelor pad while he saves at least one bedroom to be used as a guest room whenever his family comes to visit.
ANTERO CORPORATION RETURNING EMPLOYEE GUIDE (Story)
Item 1: Introduction
Hello! Welcome back to the Antero Corporation family. We’re proud to have you once again as a part of one of our Solvent Operations & Response Teams (SORTs). You are here because a location of interest has been identified, and your particular SORT has been selected by lottery. Please carefully review all procedures to ensure that you and nearby civilians remain safe.
This particular manual is designed for returning Antero Corporation employees. You have been on the field before, this is not a mistake. These contents may jog your memory, but if not, simply re-learning material is acceptable.
Item 2: Calibration
You will shortly be introduced to your team of 2 to 4 other coworkers. Because you are a returning employee, you can be certain that this selection of people has worked well with you in the past. You may develop a rapport if you wish, but as a reminder, any knowledge you have of your team will not be preserved once your task is completed.
Soon after re-meeting your SORT, you will be transported to The Baseline Inclusion Zone to take part in multiple non-invasive normality fitness tests.
CHRONOLOGY TEST
You will be provided with a series of events from your life and must place them in chronological order. You may not remember, but this information was willingly provided to us in your initial stage of recruitment.
APHANTASIA TEST
You will be asked to imagine a red apple, and rate the vividness of its image from 1 to 5 (a more thorough scale will be provided by the operator).
PINK ELEPHANT TEST
A full description of this test will hinder results. When it begins, simply follow all instructions as quickly and accurately as possible.
Item 3: Entry
If you pass every test, you will be transported by your Team Research Overseer (TRO) to the location of interest with your team directly after. You will also be given your special operations suit, which should cover you completely and provide numerous tools to aid your journey. Assign one SORT member to perform an equipment check in correspondence with your TRO.
Civilians nearby should be cleared by a separate team by the time you arrive. If there are still people nearby, demand all to exit under guise of an applicable public threat, such as a gas leak, terrorist attack, or extreme weather event. You may use force if civilians are not compliant. Once the area is cleared, issue a request on behalf of the Bystander Clearance Team for a re-evaluation of memory and mental state.
Item 4: Action
Your goal is to document any abnormal properties of the location. You will do this by physically exploring the location while recording anything that happens, consistently communicating with your SORT to take note of any incongruencies. You do not need to take particular effort to record, as the equipment on your suit does so automatically. Your TRO cannot communicate during the expedition, but will remotely receive all incoming data from a separate location.
General notes:
Periodically split up and reconvene in order to trigger potential spatial or temporal desynchronization.
Disregard any and all information of prophetic nature. All predicted events have been found to occur with or without intervention.
Periodically take note of the stopwatch visible in the bottom right of your goggles, and ensure it matches with other members.
Never cease communication with the rest of your SORT. In the event a member goes dark, do not spend more than an hour searching for them.
Do not attempt to fix any anomalies, even if you are certain you have found the source.
Do not use chalk, ropes, or other “breadcrumb” systems to navigate. They will lie.
If you feel as though objects or walls are moving when not observed, you are most likely correct.
If a member of your SORT becomes incapacitated or deceased, attempt to retrieve the body; if not viable, retrieve available equipment.
If your SORT cannot locate the exit due to spatial anomalies, collectively decide when you have reached an emergency scenario. You may all then vote as such on the provided receivers, and the Collateral Substance program will begin to monitor everyone’s nutrition levels. Once any member reaches a critical deficiency, the program will terminate a random member to be consumed. This will continue until escape is confirmed.
If a member’s time desyncs but they are still physically observable, ask them the calibration question: “Where do the warbler’s fly?” If they do not answer “just east of the range,” then terminate them with your Antero issued pistol before they have an opportunity to react.
If your assignment is a cave, return is unlikely. The mission remains mandatory. Thank you for your service.
Item 5: Cleanup
If the entire location is documented to the best of your team’s knowledge, exit using the same method of entry. Cross-check time devices outside the area with those in your equipment, and make one final observation around the exterior of the location. If inconsistencies are present, your SORT may be lost and must repeatedly re-enter and exit the location until incongruencies are no longer present. Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to interact with any people outside of your SORT for as long as these anomalies remain. If multiple entries into the location of interest are ineffective, self-termination is the best option.
Once your SORT reports completion, you will be brought back to the Baseline Inclusion Zone for debriefing, where you will repeat normality fitness tests, return equipment and recordings to be analyzed by researchers, and have your memory partially erased to mitigate informational hazards. When you return home, any missed deadlines or other issues related to your absence will have been dealt with by management on your behalf. You will remember that you went on another expedition, but no other details.
Item 6: Conclusion
Thank you for joining Antero Corporation for another mission. Your work is important, and your sacrifice is recognized. Payment will be distributed by mail. If you wish to terminate your employment contract, you are free to do so at any time and for any reason after your mission is complete (including debriefing). Doing so during or shortly before your shift is strictly prohibited, and attempts to do so will not be tolerated.
[~~~~~~~~~~~~TRANSMISSION_ERROR~~~~~~~~~~~~]
(All SORT members are currently in different rooms of an underground train station.)
Bravo: Echo, are you there?
(Bravo scans across the main floor of the train station with a flashlight in silence.)
Bravo: …Okay. They’ve gone dark.
Sierra: I’ve been looking too, I don’t know where they could have gone.
Delta: I think I saw them walking near the tunnel, I can try to follow. Bravo, can you check their vitals?
Bravo: I got it. Um, let’s see…
(Bravo is silent for a moment.)
Delta: Everything alright?
Bravo: I… It’s not here. It lists me, Sierra, and Delta. That’s it. They aren’t here. They were here before when I did the equipment check.
Sierra: This fucking place...
Delta: Alright then, I’ll go where I saw Echo go. Keep an eye on my readings.
Bravo: Hold on, you really shouldn’t go on your own.
Delta: If it was an individualized pocket then we can’t retrieve them together.
Bravo: Yeah, but if it is a thing that traps you individually then you won't be able to get out even if you do find them. That’s too much of a gamble, I’m coming with you.
Delta: I guess you’re right. Come on.
Sierra: I’ll continue searching the second floor. Full disclosure, if you two go dark I am sitting here and waiting exactly one hour before getting the hell out of here.
Bravo: Fair enough.
Delta: You could lose your position.
Sierra: And what a tragedy that would be.
(Bravo and Delta meet at the mouth of the tunnel, and begin to walk down it.)
Bravo: Time is at 17:22:03.
Delta: Same here.
Sierra: Me too.
(Small bits of gravel are kicked up by each of the SORT members’ boots as they walk, skittering across the dark alley and train tracks.)
Sierra: Every electronic clock I can find has been unplugged.
Delta: That’s… really odd… Analog ones?
Sierra: There aren’t any, not on this floor. Guess these guys aren’t fans of ‘em.
Bravo: In all fairness, I can barely read normal clocks either.
Delta: I suppose there’s a chance- hey, Bravo, stop-
(Incoherent glitching noises and overlapping audio comes out of Delta’s radio)
Sierra: Oh shit, everything okay?
Bravo: Del- Oh. What are you-
Delta: I’m still here, I’m still fine, where did you go?
Bravo: I haven’t moved, where are you right now?
Delta: I didn’t move either. I'm still in the tunnel. You’re nowhere in sight.
Bravo: Same for you.
Sierra: The vitals say you guys are still good. Did you just get separated?
Bravo: I… Suppose so… Okay, Delta, do you see anything other than just train tracks?
(Delta looks around for recognizable landmarks.)
Delta: There’s a newspaper on the ground here, it’s turned to a crossword puzzle.
Bravo: Exact same here too. I think we’re in the same place, we just can’t see each other somehow.
Sierra: What do your guys’ timers say?
Bravo: 17:30:28.
Delta: Fuck. Mine is 17:18:11.
Sierra: And mine is the same as Bravo’s.
Bravo: Let’s just both leave the tunnel.
Delta: Okay, I can- What do you mean? I don’t know?
Bravo: You don’t know what?
Delta: Is that a bad thing?
Bravo: What are you talking about?
Delta: Oh what the f-
(A loud gunshot can be heard through Delta’s radio, and their body hitting the ground.)
Bravo: Delta? DELTA!?
Sierra: Get the fuck out of there, man!
(Bravo sprints out of the tunnel. Delta sprints out of another tunnel on the other side of the track, which they never entered. They meet in the center of the track.)
Bravo: Delta, are you okay? The fuck just happened, how are you over here?
Delta: What? I should be asking the same question to you! I thought you died.
Sierra: You two, I searched the rest of the station, there isn’t anything. Sort your shit out so we can leave.
Bravo: You… You were talking nonsense and… there was a loud… how did you get over there?
Delta: That’s the tunnel we went in. I also thought you got killed.
Sierra: Um… Delta, can we get a time synchronization test?
Delta: 17:19:24.
(Sierra and Bravo are taken aback, and stand in silence for a moment.)
Sierra: …Delta, where do the warbler’s fly?
Delta: Wh- What do you mean? I don’t know?
(All three are silent for a moment.)
Delta: Is that a bad thing?
(Bravo quickly pulls their pistol and aims it at Delta’s head.)
Delta: Oh what the f-
(A loud gunshot can be heard through Delta’s radio, and their body hitting the ground. Bravo stands frozen for a moment, still clutching their gun.)
Sierra: Bravo, I don’t mean to be pushy, but we need to get out of here. Now.
(Bravo is audibly shaken.)
Bravo: A-Alright, meet me in the lobby.
Sierra: I think they’ll cut us some slack for leaving early. I’m assuming still no sign of Echo?
Bravo: Who?
Sierra: Echo, like where they went?
Bravo: There isn’t- You mean like another team member?
(Sierra pauses for a moment in confusion.)
Sierra: Yeah. Echo. You were looking for them.
Bravo: Uh…
Sierra: What time do you have?
Bravo: 17:04:12. What’s going on?
(Sierra doesn’t respond.)
Bravo: …What’s on yours?
(Only footsteps can be heard through Sierra’s radio.)
Bravo: Sierra? Are you there?
(The footsteps escalate to a sprint.)
Bravo: What are you doing?
(A door is heard opening and quickly shutting. Sierra’s communication system is manually shut off.)
Unlocking the Thrill: GA Lottery Cash 4 Unveiled
In the realm of the Georgia Lottery, where dreams are spun and fortunes are sought, one game stands out for its unique blend of simplicity and potential for substantial winnings: Cash 4. Since its inception, Cash 4 has garnered a dedicated following among players across the state, offering a captivating gameplay experience that combines strategy, anticipation, and the chance to win big.
Cash 4, as its name suggests, is a numbers game where players select a four-digit combination and place their bets. With draws held twice daily, players have the opportunity to test their luck and chase after enticing cash prizes on a regular basis. But what sets Cash 4 apart from other lottery games is its flexibility and variety, allowing players to customize their gameplay experience to suit their preferences and playing style.
The gameplay of Georgia Lottery Cash 4 is delightfully straightforward. Players choose a four-digit number from 0000 to 9999, either by selecting their own numbers or opting for a Quick Pick, where the numbers are randomly generated by the lottery terminal. Players can then choose their desired play style—Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combo, or Front/Back Pair—each offering different odds of winning and potential payouts.
The excitement of Cash 4 reaches its peak during the draw, where four numbers are randomly selected from a pool of balls numbered 0 through 9. Players win prizes based on the accuracy of their chosen numbers and play style. For example, a Straight bet pays out the highest prize if the numbers match exactly in the exact order drawn, while a Box bet offers more flexibility, with prizes awarded for matches in any order.
With its multiple play styles and generous prize structure, Cash 4 offers a wealth of opportunities for players to win big. Whether it's the thrill of matching all four numbers in exact order or the satisfaction of winning a smaller prize with a Box bet, Cash 4 delivers excitement and anticipation with every draw.
What sets Cash 4 apart is its strategic element, allowing players to tailor their bets to their own preferences and playing style. Whether you prefer to play it safe with a Straight bet or take a chance with a Combo bet, Cash 4 offers a variety of options to suit every level of risk tolerance.
Moreover, Cash 4 is designed to be accessible to players of all budgets, with ticket prices starting at just $0.50 or $1 per play. This affordability makes Cash 4 an appealing choice for both casual players and serious enthusiasts alike, allowing everyone to enjoy the excitement and potential rewards of the game.
In recent years, technology has made it even easier to play Cash 4 and check results. The official Georgia Lottery website and mobile app provide convenient access to game information, winning numbers, and the ability to purchase tickets online. With just a few clicks or taps, players can participate in Cash 4 from the comfort of their own homes or on the go, adding an extra layer of convenience to the gaming experience.
As with any form of gambling, it's important for players to approach Cash 4 with caution and responsibility. While the allure of big winnings may be tempting, it's essential to play within your means and set realistic expectations. Cash 4 is a game of chance, and while some players may strike it rich, others may walk away empty-handed. By playing responsibly and for entertainment purposes only, players can enjoy the excitement of Cash 4 while minimizing the risks.
In conclusion, Georgia Lottery Cash 4 is a beloved fixture in the world of the Georgia Lottery, offering a thrilling gameplay experience and the potential for significant winnings. With its strategic elements, affordable ticket prices, and accessibility, Cash 4 continues to captivate the hearts and minds of players across the state. So why not take a chance on Cash 4 and see if you have what it takes to unlock the thrill of winning big? After all, with Cash 4, anything is possible.
