Brief Backstory:

-got her cutie-mark at a young age after making a little box for an injured bird to stay in while she got help from the local vet. She was very confused as to why her cutie mark was antlers, however

-She wasn't the most bubbly unicorn around, but on a high-energy and particularly happy day she could rival Izzy with her energy, to the point of frustrating her sibling Willow (who would get tired easily)

-Now she works with the local vertinarians on temporary habitats for injured animals, and focuses on "assist and release" techniques in her structures (e.g. not making the animals reliant on the structure for support and thus making it nearly impossible to return to the ecosystem)

-While she cares about her sister, Willow, very much, she has difficulty connecting to her due to their clashing personalities and needs

-They relate to each other due to their shared interest in nature (despite their differing focuses) and when Fern is able to wind down, she loves listening to Willow talk about the different types of trees and the ways to identify them
