the way i had multiple supposedly educated openminded people, some openly gay, tell me i should stop being asexual because me being "like that" makes it harder for me to find a boyfriend... but was i ever looking? another thing i heard often was 'your dating pool is so small, what type of man will be okay with "that" about you!!!' as in i should quit being ace, supress it etc to be able to fit into cishet dominated society... that sounds terrible tbh why would you say that
