“You’re an ass,” Yamaguchi said, shoving Kei off the sidewalk with his elbow.

“And yet here you are all these years later.”

“Tragically,” Yamaguchi sighed, though Kei noticed that he had slowed down to allow him to catch up, “but there are some perks to that.”

“Like what?”

“You can’t keep any secrets from me anymore, I know you like the back of my hand.”

“Pfft, I’m still plenty mysterious.”

“You just like to think that, but you’re an open book to me. It’s all in the eyes,” Yamaguchi said, waggling his eyebrows for dramatic effect. ---

In order to prove that Yamaguchi isn't as good at reading him as he thinks, Tsukishima decides to reveal the one secret he knows will shock Yamaguchi.

Alternatively: When Tsukishima's pride is on the line, he makes incredibly dumb choices.

Well fuck, Tadashi thought, What the hell am I doing? I’m pretty sure the feeling of your best friend putting headphones on your head isn’t supposed to make your heart beat a mile a minute and I’m completely sure you’re not supposed to fantasize about waltzing with him. This is all wrong. I’m dating Yachi for god sake. So why the hell am I thinking about him like this?

And in that moment, Tadashi Yamaguchi realized something that he’d managed to keep from himself for as long as he could remember: He was gay, and absolutely head over heels for his best friend. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks, threatening to throw the comfortable friendship he’d cherished for half a decade into peril. Finally found some Brainiac out in the wild. If you don't know what they are, they're a really strange punk band that plays a lot of electronic music with their lead singer, the late Timmy Taylor, playing this androgynous character who's both robot and man. So like a punk android. And this album was their shot at the big time after being on Grass Records (then a super-small label - by 1996, a BMG subsidiary that would get renamed as Wind-Up the following year) - and actually got them a deal with Interscope. Sadly, I didn't say the late Timmy Taylor for nothing - he died in a car accident during rehearsals for their major-label debut. Interscope didn't pick up the Grass-era stuff once Wind-Up began hyperfixating on Creed and they didn't even make a deal with Touch and Go to at least give this record a fighting chance in the mainstream. So we have a band that's largely out of print and poorly distributed by two labels: one that ignores them save for a vinyl repress from 2013 and the other so resistant to digital distribution and has let this album in particular out of print. So Brainiac are merely a secret handshake among those who know still. I'm glad to be a fan. I Ain’t Hearing That

After fighting my traffic ticket in court today I basked in the glow of our due process here in the USA and my right to fight a charge filed against me. Not sure other countries have it this good even if our system is moderately broken. And to think this is the same one laid down just 250 years ago. When I think about the ages of other civilizations, I don't know whether to marvel at the fact that we have come so far in such short of time (granted standing on the shoulders of the Dutch and the English) or the fact that other countries have lasted this long. 

It was a funny entrance into the court. Everyone waiting at a meter until 9am for the tow zone signal can go off for all is us to drop in our hard earned money in order to spend our time in court, away from our work our parenting our gardens and in my case my beloved Tuesday boot camp which is why I got this goddamn ticket in the first place due to a couple of Chips setting up a speed trap outside of the Deaf School.

The prosecutor was readily waiving the points in exchange for paying the fine/court costs and admitting guilt. Now the pride I felt seceded to a feeling as if I was inside a crock of shit; moreover the fuzzbot that ticketed me had the nerve to check, “School Zone” on my ticket and it is not a school zone. When the prosecutor (insert pawn of the city revenue machine here) started in with that, I was LIVID. Oh hell no I thought to myself. Homie don’t play that. I was now in full battle mode. My response to how do I plea was, “I need more time to do a cost-benefit analysis as to what I am going to enter as my plea today.”

I asked of course how much this continuance will set me back and that response was, “Five dollars.” Good for me, but for the city, it would cost much more when you consider all the staff to record and file and once again process my case. I encourage everyone to take their first continuance-- it is your right. Perhaps the “authorities” will end this circus when they realize that we will also use them as dummies for our tricks and the revenue of the city’s practice to churn these out would end. In reality the reason why they can get away with is is this: idiots can’t make their first court appearance let alone their second one. Heck, you got screens to look at. Why exercise your rights to a court of law? You know why, because THAT is hedonism. Fight. Resist. Crush the Status Quo. Rise. Righteousness. And other uplifting words I can write here that you can just look up synonyms for in the Dictionary. 

What is my next step? I plead innocent. In the meantime, I will make my case. Btw, you are the defendant. The plaintiff has the burden of proof and don’t let that puffy old magistrate who can barely catch his breath between, “If you plead no contest, I will still find you guilty,” sitting up high with a black robe get the best of you. He ain’t shit. None of us are and all of us are. Depends on the situation. So ask yourself. What would a POS do? And do the opposite. I am so cracking up at this right now.

May play day 15- Speaking of crocks, I recently bought a crock pot on clearance (yes I am at it again but not quite as bad), and I have to tell you that the hedonism behind just throwing shit (a theme of today) in there and then voila food for days is absolutely underrated. Loving my Vegan Vindaloo!

Introducing the FuzzBot

Twelve-year-old maker Quin already has a company of his own–Qtechknow. He founded a hackerspace in his garage on California’s Central Coast. He helps teach Arduino classes for kids and adults. And he developed the “gas cap,” a baseball hat that detects human methane emissions. (What 12-year-old wouldn’t want that?) And now he’s created the FuzzBot, a cool little robot that not only turns on a dime to avoid obstacles, it helps his mom out by dragging a dust cloth as it makes its rounds.

To build the bot, Quin used the Pololu ZumoBot Chassis Kit for Arduino, an Arduino Leonardo, a pan/tilt small servo, and a Parallax Ping Ultrasonic Distance Sensor. He used wire to attach the servo to the chassis and hot glue to secure the Ping sensor to the top of the servo. He programmed most of the code himself using the Arduino IDE, the ZumoBot library, and the Ping library for Arduino.

“I like you, Tsukki.” Tadashi averted his eyes in embarrassment. “I always have. You… You’re everything to me.”  

“Yamaguchi I-” Tsukishima started, though his throat refused to form the words.

“It's always been us Tsukki, through thick and thin. I’ve loved you for as long as I can remember and I don't know what I'd do if you walked out that door. So please… please stay here. With me.” Tadashi felt tears prick his eyes as he attempted to meet Tsukishima's gaze. --- Tadashi had always thought he and Tsukishima were meant to be together, everyone had told him so. All Tsukishima needed was a nudge in the right direction, right?

“Yachi, are you sure this is a good idea?” Tadashi anxiously adjusted his button-down, trying his damndest to straighten out the wrinkles that just refused to cooperate.

“I’m absolutely, completely positive. I think you guys will click, he seemed really excited about this date!”

Tadashi sighed with relief.

“Or at least as excited as he can be,” Yachi muttered under her breath. -------------- Professors Tsukishima and Yamaguchi go on a blind date and it goes much better than expected.

I’ve Seen Heaven In The Moonlight

C“Sooooooo… do you have any specific place in mind Tsukki?” Tadashi asked, looking up at him with his head cocked slightly.

“I do,” Tsukishima responded, not looking down to meet the gaze of his boyfriend, fiddling absentmindedly with his fingers not occupied by Tadashi’s pinky, “but it’s a surprise.’

“Pfft,” Tadashi snorted, “Kei Tsukishima, hater of surprises, planning a surprise himself. This needs to be put in the history books.”

“Hey,” Tsukishima said, flicking Tadashi in the head with his spare hand, “I never said I hated the concept of surprises.”

“Yeah yeah, just ‘surprises for you,’” Tadashi mocked, doing air quotes with his fingers.

“Shut up Yamaguchi.”

“You know you love me.”

Yamaguchi and Tsukishima go for a walk in the park, and Yamaguchi gets way more than he bargained for.
