Lance McClain usually loved being Chat Noir. While he claimed he did it for the glory—thank you, press—many of the actual accolades were reserved for his partner, Ladybug.
He was the real reason Lance giddily transformed every night, jumping out of his university dorm window with bright blue eyes and adrenaline. Brooding, goal-oriented, wildly talented Ladybug seemed to have a permanent hold on his heart, even when the man in question was angry with Lance.
Case in point: today’s patrol. It was a dark, low-lit fall night in Paris, with crisp air masking the normal city smells. Overhead, a few stars could be seen beyond the haze of light pollution. They winked down over the chaotic scene Lance had unfortunately been blamed for.
“How did you miss the giant stuffed bear?” Ladybug yelled at Lance, slinging his yo-yo and flying across the rooftops. Lance, wearing his signature black cat outfit and mask, let out a huff as he chased after his partner.
“He must have been behind me, I swear. Parisian streets are super narrow, man; it’s insanely hard to patrol.” He sent a pleading look to Bug, complete with a pout stretching his lips.
Ladybug glared in return, but Lance took a second to admire his muscles flexing under his red spandex uniform as they hopped over buildings. “No more excuses. Let’s just fight this guy.” God, even when he was a complete dick, Ladybug was hot. Maybe it was the meanness that Lance was attracted to? He should probably talk to a therapist.
“On it, Bugaboo!”
“Don’t call me that!”
Lance didn’t listen, already extending his baton to a staff so he could launch directly into the fray. Surely it wouldn’t be too difficult to take down a massive teddy bear. They had this in the bag. With his sharp, catlike reflexes, Lance swept his staff toward the top of the bear’s fluffy head and cracked down. Instantly, the bear’s springy exterior cushioned the blow and whipped the force right back.
“Uh oh,” Lance muttered, recalling his physics classes on how every force has an equal opposite reac–
He went flying.
“Chat!” Ladybug’s cry rang out as he desperately landed in a roll on the roof of a grocer's, tumbling gracelessly to a stop. “Are you alright?” Lance stuck a thumbs up in the air.
“All good, but we probably can’t hit this guy,” Lance groaned, pulling himself into a crouch and rubbing his sore tailbone. Ladybug’s attention snapped back to their enemy, his gaze calculating. The sight stirred a little flutter in Lance’s chest. In his opinion, the most attractive thing about Ladybug wasn’t anything the news tended to debate over. Sure, his dark hair was thick and shiny. Yes, his rippling biceps were anything but ugly. However, the real thing that made Lance fall for him was this: how naturally he fit into battle, using his sharp instincts to act on the fly.
Sometimes it was reckless. Most times, it was beautiful. Tonight was no different, as Ladybug quickly deduced a hidden detail on the bear’s paw and got to work. He sent Lance to sneak under its foot while it lifted to take a step, using himself as a distraction while Lance broke the sound box at its seam with Cataclysm. That process alone took a solid five minutes as the bear kept nearly crushing Lance with its thudding footsteps, Ladybug taunting it from above.
Finally, as he broke the box, a blackened butterfly zipped out and zipped into the air. Ladybug was right in place, waiting for his opportunity to catch it securely in his yo-yo. Lance clambered up next to his partner and watched him complete their post-battle ritual.
“Bye-bye, butterfly.” Lance grinned and waved as the newly purified butterfly floated off on a gentle breeze.
As Ladybug’s magic reset the city, Lance tried to ignore his miraculous beeping. “So, are you ever going to reveal your identity? I purr-omise to keep it a secret, hot stuff.” Satisfaction filled him as Ladybug’s pale cheeks dusted red below his mask.
“No. That would obviously compromise our safety if we got caught,” Ladybug said (again).
“A shame,” Lance sighed, leaning on his staff and cocking his head. “We would make a meow-velous pair, Bugaboo. Don’t you trust me?”
“It’s not about that, Chat, and you know it,” Ladybug replied shortly. He prepped his yo-yo to leave, much to Lance’s disappointment, twirling it in his hands as he prepared for takeoff. “Also, your puns are shit.” With that, he zipped away, leaving Lance alone on the roof.
“Ugh,” Lance groaned at Ladybug’s retreating silhouette, his head rolling to the side. Suddenly, a bright sign caught his eye. “Eau de Kogane– oh hell no!”
Looming above him was a billboard for famous model Keith Kogane’s new signature fragrance. Keith’s flawless face was tossed back in a neutral expression while his hands were positioned elegantly around his neck. Soft white light haloed his curved pose, making Lance stick out his tongue.
In addition to being an internationally famous model, Keith also happened to be Lance’s classmate, whom he hated. Despite consistently missing classes in their program, he managed to eke out incredible grades and end up at the top of their year without even trying. The guy had a magic touch.
He was Lance’s sworn rival.
Lance’s brow wrinkled as he stared up at the advertisement. He’d much rather it be Ladybug’s handsome face saying farewell as he closed out his night of heroism, not Keith Kogane’s ugly mug. “Bye, bitch-ass.”
With a sudden leap and a run, Chat Noir returned to the shadows of the night.

Voltron dies today, it’s the end of an era. I like deadass started tearing up earlier.
This shit was like my entire personality for a hot second there when I was younger.
Vld was (and still is :p) superr important to me. It’s so nostalgic and even though it was atrociously done it was still queer rep. I’m honestly so disappointed in Netflix like bsffr

keith knows he and lance will eventually get married and he has been fantasizing about and planning for their future together for years now but every time lance mentions their future together so casually it makes keith melt
it's one thing to fantasize on his own but another thing entirely to have lance say it. to have lance confirm he's been thinking about it too. that keith's on his mind just as much as he's on keith's

Hello Tumblr I am looking for a Klance fanfic I read like a year ago, it was on AO3, it was an Au where they were friends with benefits and post war AU. I remember they get married halfway through. Also I'm pretty sure all of the sex is implied. I know in one chapter they have sex in a bathtub. There's also a part where they are renovating a beach house and there's a thing about how shitty earth beer is. It was super wholesome.
I remember really liking it and would honestly be super jazzed if y'all could help me out
UPDATE: IT GOT FOUND
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22216504/chapters/53045212
Thank you to @msmadamemim for finding it, you rock so much!!

hey so nobody knows this blog but i got out of control while telling my friend about a writing a prompt i thought of and so now im giving it to you fire emoji (below the clip)
au where lance had his schoolbag for some reason (he doesnt know why he grabbed it, he likes to think it was the universe letting him have things from home to remind him that yes, he will make it back) and as they reach the edge of the solar system, his bag starts to ring, his familiar ringtone playing throughout the lion.
he's not quite sure why he decided to go on a hunt to find a charger to get it's battery up, maybe fate playing with the strings a bit to get it to happen, he's not sure.
it's what the paladins have deemed as "night-time," around 9pm back on earth. he was nearly asleep but is now clambering for his bag, worn from the years he's spent using it in space. he rips the phone from it, staring in disbelief that he was able to get a signal from all the way out here.
the words are clear on his screen, though his eyes are blurring them, tears threatening to fall.
MAMÁ
his hands are shaky as he clicks the accept button. the heart threatening to beat out of his chest the only thing assuring him that it isnt a dream.
it's quiet for a moment, before his mother's quiet words ring through his ears.
"..mijo?"
she sounds as if she's aged 10 years in only 5, but her voice was still heavy with that slight spanish accent, worn from years of english, that used to scold him and tell lance how much she loves him. but it's everything he's missed. and he can't helps the way his voice breaks when he says,
"mamá. oh mamá we're coming home."
----
lance doesn't know why, after the call with his mother ends, he calls keith. sure they're friends now but he hasn't been sure if theyre that close yet.
but he does anyways.
it only rings for a second, the image of keith appearing on his screen. pajamas on, and kosmo laying their head in his lap, with his comm pad held lazily in one hand. the screen lit up with one of the crosswords allura had given them to help with their altean.
"hey man, what's up? you alright? you look like you've been crying."
he leans forward in the chair, much to kosmos dislike, his eyes squinting and brow furrowed in concern.
lance suddenly feels concious of how he looks, eyes red and puffy, but just wipes at his eyes, looking at the side of his controls rather than the screen.
"yeah, it's just uh. i got a call from my mom, from my old phone. and i just, i don't know."
keith sits up fully in his seat, although knocking kosmo's head off fully, and clicks his comm pad off and setting it onto the floor.
"dude, really?! i'm surprised you got signal all the way out here. but i'm glad for you! how was she doing?"
keith looks genuinely happy for him, not something lance often had the privilege to see.
"she's uhm."
he takes a moment to steel himself. taking a deep breath as he reminds himself that he won't have to talk about only memories of her the next day. it won't hurt to talk about her.
"she's doing good, she was uh. really happy to hear from me. says she called me every week just to see if i would maybe pick up."
and lance's heart can't help but break, as he thinks about his mamá, face creased with worry, sat with her phone in hand, hoping her son would pick up. hoping that he would come back. that he would come home.
"she uh, only starting calling once or twice per month after the first year, so i guess i got lucky. it was really nice to hear her voice again. i almost forgot."
(his face falls, as he thinks of the countless nights that he'd try. try to hard to remember what she sounded like. how she rolled her r's, how she sounded as she yelled at him to do his chores faster, how she said i love you. he could never get it just right.)
"it's funny honestly, i used to hope for the day that i wouldn't have to hear it as much. i'd mock her voice from behind my door after an argument. but now i can't even imagine that. i guess, you don't know how much you'd miss something until you lose it.
and i know it seems silly to miss her this much considering we were gone only 2 years. but for her it was five. and at some points i wasn't–"
his voice begins to crack, his hand gripping the edge of his seat so hard that his fingers were white. the tears in his eyes threatening to fall.
"–i wasn't sure if i'd ever see her again. if i'd be able to tell her that i was coming home."
lance gives a watery laugh, rubbing his hand on the back of his head as he realises that he just dumped that all on keith.
“sorry that was, kind of a ramble.”
he finally looks back up at the screen, tears pricking the back of his eyes as he tries not to cry again. keith is staring at seemingly nothing just behind the screen, face drawn up in an expression lance can't decipher. thoughtfulness? he's not quite sure. but he doesn't have time to figure it out before keith speaks again, his gaze falling down to the floor as he starts to fidget with the string on his sweatpants.
"i understand what you mean. and im not trying to make this about me but, after spending two years on a space whale, i learned theres a lot of things you don't realise you'll miss."
he looks up, his face almost determined as he looks at lance directly now.
"but hey, you'll get to see her tomorrow, you won't have to miss her for much longer."
lance nods, smiling as a warmth spreading through his chest. he feels a renewed hope for the next day. he was going to go home.
(little note but the idea that theres a big group that surrounds the lions after they land, which the paladins get lost in immediately
and so lance is desperately searching through the crowd trying to find his family, before seeing keith waving and pointing almost frantically, but a smile on his face.
and as the crowd moves his mamá comes into view, standing next to keith
she calls out to lance, and he immediately runs over, engulfing her in a hug that lasts, definitely more than 20 seconds, and once he pulls away she starts tearfully rambling about how much she missed him, how she always knew in her heart that he'd come back, etc. etc.
but after a moment wipes the tears from her eyes and cheerfully exclaims that she was struggling to find him before keith had helped her, saying how nice he is, mother stuff yk
and keith is looking away blushing slightly from the compliments, and lance just looks at him and thanks him with such a genuine tone that keith cant help but smile fondly at him)

Kallurance au of my alfusion au here wherein alteans have the ability to fuse with others. My brain went ‘what if the Allura/Lance fusion got a crush on Keith’ and rolled with it. Apparently I’m writing an au of my au first. Super specific.
Ⓜⓐⓖⓝⓔⓣⓘⓢⓜ
When Allura and Lance had fused all those phoebs ago, they hadn’t imagined being able to let the other go, not after coming so close to being separated forever, death so close they can still feel breath on their neck, a cold prickle of fear.
And so, they don’t let the other go.
The longer Lallura spends in a fusion, the more independence they gain, able to make their own decisions and try new experiences, becoming more than just their components, Allura and Lance every bit apart of them in the way that foundations are. They chose a new fusion name to go by, a self-given nickname that sticks too well. Lallura turns to Lure.
It suits the face in the mirror, they think. The face that winks back agrees.
Between Lure and Coran, they set to rebuild Altea as it had once been. No, better.
Their new Altea.
It’s in this time that they spend a considerable amount of time running into Keith. He’s trying to turn the blades into a humanitarian effort, as well as trying to deal with the civil unrest amongst the galra. But he stops by New Altea often, helping where he can.
Lure finds themselves looking forward to these visits, fond of his company. Perhaps it should surprise them more than it does, but he has become someone they trust with their life, all of them, wholly and completely. Where there had once been distrust, jealousy, so many emotions that had thrown them at opposite ends of a divide, Keith finally, finally has become someone they can rely on. The kind of person Red and Black had once seen the potential for him to be.
When he leaves, Lure trusts that he will always come back.
Then that feeling grows into something else.
They know what love feels like. They’ve been here before. Still are there, their very self composed of the feeling. They are love, and they are the fear to lose that to death. This fusion is their comfort, their promise, to follow each other across the universe and live long enough to do it.
But here they are. The pull of red and blue.
Feeling it again as Lure. Or something adjacent to, but they know it’s strong and makes their heart quicken with every beat.
They wonder what Lance and Allura would say if they could see them. They’re happy like that, as them. And yet, Lure is yearning.
“Stay safe out there,” they say every time Keith leaves.
And he’ll smile at them something soft, and say, even though staying safe has never been something in his blood, “I’ll try.”
But this time, this time it changes.
“Stay,” they say simply, foregoing the rest. Why oh why they let the mice talk them into this, they do not know. “Please, just a tick. Let me… there’s something you should know.”
Maybe the galra are more cat than just in appearance, because that confused head tilt Keith gives them strikes them as incredibly cat like. And trust them, Lance has adopted enough of those to know what they’re talking about. “… Lure?”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I also can. It makes too much sense. You have done so much for me, become so much to me, and I—“ Their eyes meet, his like deep space, and theirs a candy floss sky. They falter. “You’re really activating my particle barrier right now.”
Oh.
Oh no.
Oh no no no.
(Of all the lines, why?
What’s so memorable about this one?)
“Err,” says Keith after an uncomfortably long stretch of silence. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Oh quiznacking crow, yes. I’m fine.” They take a deep, calming breath and try again. “I like you, Keith. You’re the future, but I also want you to be my future. I thought I knew where the future would take me, but I’ve been surprised yet again and it’s by you and your hideous mullet.” A pause. “Well, maybe it’s not quite so hideous.”
“Lure… what?” says Keith, strained, unsure. His eyes dart over their face. “You’re Lance and Allura. Why would either of them want…?”
“Because I do. And I’m them.” They take a step towards him. “And I’m me. And I don’t know how you managed it, not when half of me loves to bicker with you. But that’s just it. There’s so many things I love doing with you that all of me just really, really likes you Keith. We make a really good team. You, me… and me.”
“I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything. I only wanted to let you know. But— please don’t let this push you further away. I’m sorry.”
“No, I—” He frowns. “I just thought you were happy.”
“I am. But you can never be too happy,” they say, light, playful. “If you’re willing, I’d like to let you into my relationship.”
Their stomach swoops, a sickly feeling, holding out on a hope they have no idea will come.
Keith’s feelings are a mystery. The way he sometimes looks at him has them wondering, but ultimately, they do not know.
Not for sure.
“Does Lance—” starts Keith, his voice catching. There’s a shine to his eyes, moonlight hung there. “Are these feelings his too?”
“Yes,” they say, something singing in their chest. “They belong to all of me. Lance included.”
Lure reaches out to his face, cupping it with their hand. Keith stills, then relaxes, and the look he gives them, oh ancient stars of cheese above, it’s breathtaking.
“Why?” they say, coy. “Don’t tell me you liked me before you. Can’t I at least beat you at something?”
“Lance, no. Allura, maybe,” says Keith with a smile. “But being fused with the princess is cheating.”
“Is this really cheating?” Lure says, taking their chance, and closing the distance between them. Keith, always having their back, now has their lips too, his warm like the sun that has long since set, dusk now glittering behind them.
Keith lets out this breathy sort of laugh, then deepens it, teeth clicking. It’s not perfect, it needs practice, but they can do that.
And Lure would very much like to do this more.
“So?” says Lure against his lips. They pull away. “Is that a yes?’
“Mhm,” Keith hums somewhat distractedly. “That’s cheating.”
“No. Before, when I asked you if you wanted to join our relationship.”
“Someone’s got a case of Lance brain. I just kissed you back.”
“Hmph. Well, smart people can’t assume.”
“Yeah, okay,” says Keith, rolling eyes ripe with amusement. “I want to give us a try. I’ve liked Lance for some time now, and honestly thought I was jealous of Allura, but now, I don’t know. Allura means a lot to me, she’s—you’re amazing. And you, you mean a lot to me, so… can we see where this takes us?”
This.
This is what Lure was missing.
Their third and final member to chase across the stars.
“Yes, let’s,” Lure says.
It’s a journey worth the risks.
