" Who knows. Maybe Vegito will come around, " she offered. She bit her lip, the subject of the Potara fusion reminding her of their conversation. " But...can I ask you something? "

❝Are you that curious?❞ She retorts only after an arid pause, taking the time to observe the asker. Quite the wild look, she can’t help but think -- never before had she come across someone with such eclectic tastes. Then again, she doesn’t run into many people in the first place; perhaps this is simply normal. ❝... I suppose it isn’t common to see people around this tower. At least, people not native to this land in the first place.❞ Her defensive hand drops from the hilt of her sword, deciding to rest casually at her side instead as she turns to fully offer her attention to this odd inquirer. While her expression may not show it, the swordswoman soon finds that she, too, is curious. There shouldn’t be any harm in giving her name.

Inside of the box, instead of the probably-expected chocolates, was a golden locket.

Vados looked at the Saiyan rather confused due to how he was acting. Vegito, serious? Only ever in fights and even then, he does laugh and pick fun at his opponent. This wasn’t like him at all. She’d be lying if she wasn’t worr--

Oh? What’s this?

She noticed the little box he was holding and watched as he held it out to her.

     ❝ A gift? For me? You didn’t have to get me anything, my love. ❞

In her mind, as long as she had Vegito, that was all she needed. He was a gift altogether but the Angel proceeded to accept the box, taking it within her hand. She opened it, revealing the shiny, gold locket. With her free hand, she took it within it, admiring how the light made it shine whenever it hit the right spot.

     ❝ Vegito, it’s beautiful. What was your reasoning behind this aside from it being a day for love, which by the way, Happy Valentine's Day. ❞

A smile formed amongst her lips as she placed a soft, brief peck to his lips.

❝Ah--?!❞ Even to this day, instant transmission never fails to make her heart jump into her throat at a moment’s notice. Blinking owlishly, she comes face-to-face with a very dear figure, which allows that thumping in her chest to return to its normal pace. Evidently, the box held within his hands is meant for her; a birthday gift. Admittedly she didn’t remember if she’d ever mentioned the date or its significance to him, but perhaps it was spoken offhandedly. That only adds onto her surprise.

❝V-Vegito,❞ she gasps, utterly stunned by the gift itself and not just its contents. Warmth truly touches her heart at the mere gesture, and the fact that he remembered at all while she had hardly given her birthday any thought. 

❝Aw, you didn’t have to. Thank you so much, that’s so sweet.❞ That look of surprise shifts into a soft smile, a peachy hue dusting her cheeks. Setting aside the box, she loops her arms around his waist to offer an affectionate squeeze.

i’m actually late in responding and you were right on time, haha! i was just too busy being a baby because of the way things played out with boyfrando this evening, and that’s no excuse really. especially when you were so sweet and kind enough to wish me well on my special day. i really appreciate you for that! it means so much to me!

i mentioned it, quietly, here and there, so it’s totally understandable that you didn’t know! it’s weird... like. i don’t want to make a big deal out of it, but i also kind of do at the same time? but i’m also super cool if it doesn’t end up being a big deal all the same? idk man i’m fucking dumb when it comes to my birthday lmao. but you know what isn’t dumb? the fact that you cared enough to wish me a happy birthday! ilysm! you’re such a fucking delightful person and so fucking talented and just a goddamned pleasure to know. from the bottom of my heart i say this to you: thank you so much for being my friend, for being there for me when i’ve needed you, and understanding that while i may be prone to bursts of inspiration and then go radio silent for a while, that i don’t love you or what we do any less. i treasure what we’ve built for our babies more than i actually say and probably think about them having great sex more often than i probably should tbh. it gave me a chance to establish more of a chosen family oriented background for mercy, and that... is something really special to me (evidently so considering i seem to be incorporating that into almost all her verses now) since she was always so very alone, so fucking angry... and while she still kind of is, there’s so much more to her now, and her background feels more fleshed out and richer now that i can explore her feelings and connections with her crew and how they affect her, and how strangely caring and nurturing she can be in spite of her rage and lust for revenge against her mother and all that jazz. so i thank you, truly, for providing me with the opportunity to see new avenues i could explore and elaborate upon and build upon for her. it’s made her more human and that’s something that i’m really happy about and grateful to you for. among so many other things. i feel like the world ain’t even ready for someone as kind hearted and wonderful as you, but don’t you ever dim your shine for the comfort of anyone else. you stay who you are, because you’re perfect.

alex! thank you SO much! it’s always so heart-warming to see you around. you’re such a pure, brilliant soul and you always know how to brighten not only my day, but everyone else’s around you! you’re so sweet and talented and kind and i don’t really think i could imagine my tumblr experience without you (though i’d never try to hold you hostage here if you did decide to pack up and leave... just know that i would miss you dearly for sure). i know i’m slow (LOL I JUST FINALLY RESPONDED TO OUR THREAD AFTER HOW LONG?? i’m the worst) but it doesn’t mean that i’m any less interested in what we could craft together, or anything that you do, because you’re amazing and i really am always in awe of what you’re capable of. keeping characterizations consistent while writing multiple threads with multiple people with multiple characters kind of makes my head spin, but you do it with such ease that it looks like it’d just be a walk in the park for anyone who tried to emulate that. but i know it’s no easy feat, and it’s really inspiring tbh! i hope you’re well, and i thank you for wishing me well! it really means a great deal to me, and i want you to know that i love you very much, and i’m so happy that we’re still here together. <3

❝Wow... I didn’t think that was possible--❞ He was a little stunned to see the fusion standing right before him. The last time he’d used the Potara earrings, he didn’t remain permanently fused with Vegeta, even if they had warned them of it beforehand. ❝How are you doing that...?❞

Once they neared the stables, Nabooru slowed Honeycomb to a stop, pulling the reins to the right to turn around and watch Gogeta and Midnight join them. Her grin widened when she noted that this definitely seemed more his speed, and she was glad to see him take to it so well without much instruction. Unsurprising, but it meant they could do this again sometime.

She giggled and stuck her tongue out. " Sorry. I couldn't resist. Running is much more fun. " She patted Honeycombs neck and praised her. " If you want to go again, I'll be fair this time. "

Her smirk returned as she walked the mare level with Midnight and Gogeta. " Or, if you'd prefer, we can save the rematch for another time and I can show you that spoiling I mentioned. "

“ Hm, I see no reason why I shouldn’t demonstrate just what I mean, ” she purred, winking. “ Just don’t blame me when it makes it harder for you to want to go to work. ”

On the last leg of a round of the corral, a mischievous glint glittered in her gold eyes. Plenty of room from them to the stable. Meaning her plan wasn’t _overly_ dangerous for the horses. She adjusted her grip on the reins and grinned. “ I’ll race you back! ”

Without waiting for his response and knowing he would pick up on what to do by watching her, she snapped the reins and once more kicked Honeycomb’s sides. The mare whinnied and broke into a run. Nabooru lowered herself for an easier ride and glanced behind her at the Saiyan, grinning cheekily. Her experience and lack of warning gave her an unfair advantage in their “race,” but her playful side overruled the notion. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair, the sound of a horse’s hoofbeats as it galloped at full speed; it was all nostalgic for her and another reason she couldn’t resist her impish game.

If he felt too sore about it, she would make sure to make up for it.

Gogeta was about to ask just what she planned on doing then, but her sudden exclamation cut him off. Squinting, he watched as Nabooru commanded Honeycomb to break out into a gallop. A race huh? 

Because of the no warning given and he still being new to horse riding, he had half a mind to use Instant Transmission to send he and Midnight to the stable right now and nullify this race altogether, but he figured that would be a bad idea. There was no telling just how the horse would respond to being teleported, however short the distance would be. Being safer would be the better option.

He mimicked her earlier action, snapping the reins and pressing his heels into Midnight’s sides. With a jerk of his head and a loud snort, the stallion started galloping, and the Saiyan already found the sharp increase in speed to personally be the most thrilling thing about this little activity. Didn’t beat flying of course, but he could definitely see the appeal in riding a horse for fun.

Mindful of how fast they were nearing the stable, he had Midnight slow down, and called out to Nabooru with a pseudo-offended tone. He knew she found much enjoyment in this hobby of hers, so her mischievousness was understandable and he wasn’t actually upset over his “loss”.

     ❝ Thanks for the heads up back there. I appreciate it. ❞ He smirked.

            “ The usual, ” she affirmed, returning his smile, melting into him with just the simple caress of her arm. “ I woke up, did some training, showered, then decided to come over and bother you. ”

              She gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze with her free hand. “ What about you? Do anything interesting today? ”

The sky crackles, the grass wilted and the earth protested as it was scorched. He doesn’t know where the portal has taken him, locked in close quarters with the giant demon that’s flaming whip crackles and left scorching lashes at his flesh and the ground. The faint pain in his singed palms  and the neat slice at his cheek, wiping a bead of sweat and smudging blood on his cheek when a bare hand brushed over the area. He can’t let the surging ki, that unmistakable aura nearby that practically radiates curiosity. There’s only one thing about it that tips him off and he’s thankful he’s already pushing his body into the realm of gods, it’s much easier to hide his ki that way. He doesn’t even spare a brief look to know he’s got maybe a minute before the other power source arrives.

His own voice ripples from his throat, accompanied by the tremendous amount of ki control placed into one blast, aimed to eviscerate the demon, he’s forced to dispel it when it grabs him by the edges of his vest and smashes him face first into the dirt, a growl of annoyance as his tail swings out, wrapping firmly around their fist and dragging them forward right into his next swing.

Fifty seconds...

It’s resilient, a tank like build and yet it’s lacks in speed, he digs his nails into the abomination of flesh and twists, rewarded with a howl that cuts short when he smashes it further into the dirt, pushing more power than he likes into it to keep the demon down before the words echo in his mind, he doesn’t need to speak the words as the sizzling hot energy gathers in his outstretched palms, forming into a brilliant blue blast of pure energy.

Twenty seconds...

The corpse is nothing but ash, the deep rugged gashes in the soil that still faintly sizzle, the dropping of his own power to null as he quickly back steps, gazing in the direction he can sense the other power source coming from and ducking into the deep foliage.

Ten seconds...

Had he not gotten used to Hit and Run Tactics, maybe he’d have stayed there and debated explaining yet This wasn’t his world, definitely not from the ki’s he could sense. This belonged to someone else. He needed to find a way back to his own without being found, what if he ruined things just by his presence alone?

With a brow raised at the unfamiliar tone of her significant other, Vados’ thoughts came to a halt. 

Her eyes fell amongst Vegito’s face, scanning it for any implication of hurt, pain.. but only noticed that it was shining a bright red. However, when she caught sight of him holding something, she looked down almost instantly then a grin pulled at the corner of her lips. A gift? 

     ❝ My, my.. What do we have here? ❞ She took a step forward, letting the gap between the two of them close a little more. She could sense he was nervous and she couldn’t tell if it was from fear or just because it’s normally how he was around her... or maybe it was both.

Anything that her other half wanted to give her, she’d love regardless but she definitely was curious on what he had in store for her.
