Yeah “athletes should have a voice” has literally always meant “gymnasts should not fear repercussions from the powers that be for advocating for themselves and putting their health and safety first even if their results ‘suffer’ for it, temporarily or persistently.” Not “athletes should have a carte blanche to indulge their most childish impulses when dealing with the public and nobody is allowed to judge them for it” lmao
