Danny shifts, the costume he’s wearing itching through his shirt. He’s hot, sweatier than normal, and cannot believe that he’s doing this. He stomps around, the paw-shoes of the Abominable Snowman suit big enough that if he doesn’t pay attention to where he sets his feet, he’ll fall right into the metal bars of the cage he’s stuck in.

Why did Aunt Alicia even have a fake cage? And the costume? And dear God, why did Danny agree to this?

Dani opens the door to the main museum area. She sets his water bottle down near the shadowy corner of the cage. “Do you have to go before the tour comes in?” she whispers.

“No, I’m all set,” Danny whispers back. “Are you leaving soon?”

Dani grins wide. Right - that’s why he agreed to this. “Yeah! In just a minute. Thanks again for covering for me.”

“Just… Please learn how to drive the golf cart,” Danny replies. “You have to stop crashing the golf cart.”

Dani nods, but Danny knows she isn’t listening. They hear a bike bell from outside, and Dani perks up. “That’s Val! I’ll see you later. You’re the best, bro!” She gives him a thumbs up as she exits, and he weakly gives her a thumbs up back. She promised to bring back an entire pie from the Lunch Lady’s for him.

The door swings open again, and Aunt Alicia leads a tour group in. Danny shuffles his feet. He watches Alicia show off the other exhibits and seethes at all of the inaccuracies she’s spewing. The group is halfway around the room when he realizes Dash and Paulina are in the back of the group.

He gets even sweatier somehow, and turns to the door of the massive cage. The paw-shaped gloves make it impossible to grip the heavy door enough to open it. He frantically paws at it, desperate to make sure the other tweens don’t see him.

“And here you can see the ferocious yeti!” Alicia announced. Abominable snowman, Danny corrects silently. He turns around slowly. Dash’s eyes light up and Paulina disinterested stare turns cruel.

“It looks pretty small to me,” Paulina says, interrupting Aunt Alicia. “And so raggedy. Like a wimpy dork getting eaten by feather boa.”

“Yeah, I bet yetis aren’t even real,” Dash snickers. “Probably just some nerd in their fursuit.”

Danny was saved from further embarrassment by a tourist in the front. “Yetis are real,” he announces confidently. “This one is so wimpy because we’re too far north. It’s malnourished. Yetis live much further south than people expect.”

If Danny really was an abominable snowman, he’d be pulling his fur off. Yetis weren’t native to North America; their slightly smaller cousins the abominable snowmen were. But he couldn’t say anything because he was in a stupid costume. Shit, was Dash right? Is this a fursuit?

Alicia cut in, swiftly taking over the tour. Danny shuffled around and kicked at the floor. He’d show them. He’d get a real abominable snowman, using the Journal, and he’d show them all.

AU where despite Fenton's alter ego getting out, he's still treated with disinterest by the student body. Because they like it when he's the heroic, wise-cracking ghost, not awkward, nerdy Fenton. Sure, Dash lays off the bullying, but Fenton isn't getting fawned over. His interest only spikes when he turns into Phantom– same with the student body. (Insert Tucker joking about how the jocks still technically want him dead)

Tucker, being a furry, comments on how common this is for popular fursuiters. "And when Safari Roo was walking around the con suitless, she didn't receive as much attention. And it hurt a little to know that people cared more about the costume than the person behind it. And it’s not like what she looks like without the head is a hard-to-find secret."

GIRL i think it’s very well-advertised that my favorite creature is the werewolf 🌙🐺 i’m known for inserting a werewolf au in every fandom i’m a part of (thankfully 911 has a BUNCH i can be super normal about, including yours :3c)

(not to mention the fursuit and all that jazz lol)

but you also know i have a second place soft spot for dragons ;3 🐉

heather - what’s your favourite musical?

GOOD GOD that’s a hard one because i love so many. phantom of the opera, les mis for classics, we all go through a rent phase as teenagers (i literally saw it once a week for like an entire summer when they basically gave the last row tix away). my ultimate fave was in the heights, i was OBsessed. once on this island, hairspray, once, they’re all good. and honestly, i have a soft spot for disney stage adaptations—the lion king was the first broadway show i saw and it sparked my love of set and costume design. i’m still mad hunchback got cancelled, the songs RULE. and i’ll say it, frozen on broadway was fucking excellent 😤 did you SEE that reindeer costume???

as a millennial, literally all 90s songs are my favorite. BUT since my favorite band ever is HANSON, i gotta go with OG “MMMBop”.

1: oh shit, Alterhuman. I’m fictionkin and therian, plus other kin. I call myself Alterhuman and plural because I’m a mono conscious system., so the line between “Alterhuman” and “Alter” is blurry with fictionkin and divine kin.

3:yeah, I get plenty of them. I’m almost always in a semi mental shift. I’m ALWAYS in a phantom shift. A. Fucking dragon tail?

my cat chewed through my wacom cords & I'm still waiting on one of the new ones to come in, so unfortunately I can't make a proper reference sheet (hence sticky note art lately), but I'd love to see other people's takes on a fursuit au!

I don't have much lore to the idea yet since I. haven't really thought about it that much. the idea itself is partially based off of this post.

personally (prepare for infodump) the general idea for the fic I'm vaguely writing as of the other night (which will be posted to @daddyplasmius if I ever finish it) is that Tucker decides to get into fursuit making with the help of his mom & they finish the first one, a partial badger fursuit (just handpaws, a tail, & the head), the day Danny has The Accident. him, Tuck, & Sam are fucking around while Danny models the fursuit with his hazmat & then it kinda gets melded to his ghost form along with the hazmat when he "dies" in the Portal. I don't really have a plot tbh things are just happening

like Wulf, the costume kind of became him? if that makes sense? he can bite people is what I'm saying. the fursuit itself, after the Accident, slowly changes as Danny's ghost form stabilizes & becomes less of a suit & more of a ghost badger.

ngl I tried opening stuff with my paws on to see how hard it would be to use the Thermos & surprisingly it's not that hard, you just have to use your palm, so he still has the Thermos. I also think in this au Vlad looks like a vampire because he "died" on Halloween while in costume. or you could make him an 80's furry idk. still brainstorming & messing around with stuff

I based the design off of the European badger but I inverted the colours. still tweaking the design but inverted: the neck is white, tail is white with black on the end, paws are white with white claws & green pads, & the nose & eyes are also green. all the green parts used to be pink/red & the other parts used to either be silvery or just the opposite of what they are now.

I'm working on several other fics right now, so not sure when exactly I may (or may not) post this, but here's a tidbit from the prologue:
