Experimenting with rendering styles that don’t hurt my hand so much. Making a blob of color and tone scraping shading over it is very satisfying and doesn’t take too much brainpower.

[ The Shadows ]Night Callers , Hunters and VipersThe Shadows are a trio of closely related species . Night Callers are the largest , some of the largest adults averaging around 10 feet tall . They live in close family groups and are extremely aggressive to outsiders . They got their name from the eerie calls they make at night . These calls vary wildly , the ones used to communicate with eachother ( especially over long distances ) sounding like a person screaming in utter pain , while their hunting calls sound more like softer imitations of the hooting of owls . Hunters are less seen and are much more uncommon than their cousins , but are just as feared . They're usually on all fours and average around 6 feet , but can also walk on their back legs . Their name comes from their seemingly never satiated hunger , constantly on the hunt for new prey ( anything . They eat Anything . Their favorite food is Tints though , I'm not even kidding Tints actively F E A R these guys . Encountering one is their worst nightmare because it's almost certain they will NOT survive and it will be painful . ) Hunters make no sound , the only signs of them before attack is a sudden deathly silence , as if all life and sound have been sucked from the air .Vipers are the smallest at 2 and 3 feet and are specifically lake-dwelling . They live in hives dug into the mud in the sides and bottoms of lakes and young ones are raised on small mud islands in the middle created by the Vipers . While they look innocent , they are extremely territorial . If anyone dares to enter a lake where their hive is , they will swarm the person , surrounding them and dragging them under water , stinging them with their tails ( which causes paralysis ) and drowning them before feeding them to their young . They use body language to communicate , but also make faint whistles , clicks and other sounds similar to dolphins and whales . You can tell a hive has infested a lake when the shore seems unstable, the water is extremely dark OR mysteriously clear , and a small island is in the middle . If there is no movement on the island , you are not safe . They have already sensed you . Best you can do is RUN .
