What the hell is Pocketcat hitting in that sack.
A child, you might think, but no. It isn't. All the children are either dead or moonscorched. See the orphanage. I believe the moon came a bit before our protags did and the contestants can't last 3 days under the moon. So, I don't think there can be any survivous.
Pocketcat doesn't seem to be interested in moonscorched children since the orphanage still has cherubs roaming around.
So what. The hell. Is in that goddamn sack.

Fuck you *categorizes your moonscorches*
Earlier today i was chatting with my friends and it made me think a lot about the moonscorched forms of the termina cast and what they represent, the conversation itself was about Daan and Elise's relationship and how i personally don't think we can use Stitches as an accurate way to read her character due to moonscorch.
Because the moonscorch forms are at their core a distorted version of someone, however the way in which they're distorted tends to vary a lot between characters to the point that in order to understand what way that is you need to know who they were as humans, which is something we can't do with Elise since she's a background character who we never interact or see when she was alive.
This made me want to look into and try to categories the termina participants moonscorch forms in the way i think the distortion potrays them as, which it's not accurate to them as people in most cases.
-Daan: "This isn't who i am"
There's nothing about Pocketcat that resembles Daan aside from his physical appearance and a couple odd lines (of which i feel like may happen because he is a fresh new body for Pocketcat? So he still has a few of Daan's memories and mannerisms but those will likely fade away the longer he stays in that body) because he's just a creature who took over his body, Pocketcat is not Daan and Daan is not Pocketcat. I personally don't even count this as a moonscorch form, but sources tend to group him with the others, so i might as well add him in this list.
-Abella and Marcoh: "This isn't who i am, but what the world percieves me as"
To look at the Chaugnar and conclude that Abella is a rude and violent person is just straight up wrong. Abella as a person is kind, sweet and caring, but not only is her profession something uncommon for women to have in that time period but she actively works for an organization that values her skills and not her as a person.
It's easy to percive her as something she isn't judging solely by appearance and/or an abridged description of her character. This is what the Chaugnar is, it's Abella being potrayed as the mindless brute she doesn't want to be seen as.
The same thing happens with Marcoh, his background, his connection to mobsters, his reputation as a street boxer, all of those things can paint the image of Marcoh as a dangerous and violent man when in reality he is genuinely a good person at heart.
-Levi, Marina and Olivia: "This isn't who i want to be"
These the most upsetting form of moonscorch in my opinion because the distress and agony the characters are going through it's incredibly apparent.
Levi despises wars, they took so much away from him and gave nothing but trauma and addiction in return. He hates being associate with them which is why Weeping scope cries as he relentlessly scratches the gun on his head, it's Levi desperately trying separate himself from wars and violence, unfortunately to no avail.
Following her father's footsteps is not something Marina wants nor does she feel like she has to, the idea that her life has been decided from the moment she was born by someone else is something she hates. Marina's moonscorch is her being forced into this role and being controled by another person, a parasite that has logged itself onto her body and now gives her orders on everything she has to do.
This last one may be a little more of a stretch, i don't know Olivia as well as i know the other two, but her moonscorch being a giant machine that continuously poisons you through the fight makes me think about how much Olivia hates feeling like she's a bother to others and that a group would do better without her to "slow them down". There's also the fact that she's a botanist and machines are pretty much the polar opposite of the nature she cares so much about.
-Tanaka and Henryk: "This is who i need to be"
Judgement is pretty much the embodiment of Tanaka's feelings about how as the head of his family and their main source of income he needs to keeping going regardless of his mental of physical state, it doesn't matter if he's hurt or exhausted he needs to continue working, he has to, the grind never stops! Because this is what he thinks will make him the perfect eldest son.
Now this other one is heavily tied with my personal interpretation of Henryk's character; which is a man who, coming from a career that's usually not seen as very "manly", wants to fit in and conform with society's expectations of how a man is supposed to be because he hates the feeling of rejection.
That's why the Gentleman is, well, a gentleman. It's the kind of person Henryk feels like he needs to be. He's big, strong and moreover he's a leader, the mayor or Prehevil, it makes me think a lot about how men are expected to grow into strong leading figures just for the sake of being a guy.
-Samarie and O'saa: "This is who i should be"
Truth be told O'saa is one of the characters in this game i know the least about, so i had to get some help from my friend Marco on this and at the end of the day we thought this category was the best to describe his moonscorch. O'saa doesn't live by anyone else's rules, be it the government, the gods, he doesn't even follow the rules of the yellow mages, the Mastermind may be a manifestation of his ego as in if he isn't following them then he surely must be above all of these forces? Hard to say.
Now Samarie is a weird one, i don't really know where to start? So i think I'll do it by the name lf her moonscorch form, Dysmorphia, which is when someone obsseses over one or more aspects of their body that they consider a flaw. From her lines i get the feeling that Samarie really doesn't like herself that much and reading her mind mostly shows her calling herself a fool or a fucking idiot, so it's plausible that this dislike towards herself also applies to physical appearance and not just her as a person.
My friend once pointed out that Dysmorphia looks like the opposite of Samarie and while he said it in a joke manner i do feel like there's some logic behind it; Samarie has long hair but Dysmorphia has none, Samarie is skinny and bony while Dysmorphia is big and round, Samarie is always with a tired and kinda sad expression while Dysmorphoria apears to be smiling. It could be that Samarie hates herself so much that she sees this monstrosity that's the opposite of her as "perfect form" of sorts? She does say that she's radiating as Dysmorphia, i guess it's food for thought.
Because really this entire section is mostly me theorizing/speculating because these two were the hardest characters for me to categorize on this.
-Karin and Caligura: "This is who i trully am"
This is one of the most interesting moonscorch categories because they're the only ones that accurately potray who these characters are despite being distortions of their human selves.
Karin is the Valkyrie, she genuinely believes she's doing a good thing with her work, that she's is imortalizing these fallen soldiers and giving them the recognition they deserve. At the same time she knows those who criticize her work have a point, she makes a living out talking about these tragedies like a vulture that feeds of a corpse on the side of the road, yet she sticks to her beliefs that what she does is good at the end of the day.
Meanwhile Caligura is undeniably a vile disgusting man, he is a monster inside and out. So seing him as a giant scrotum that stays submerged in gross sewer water does a good job at summarizing who he is as a person.

Moonscorched Idia
Vengeance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Idia’s design and moonscorching main inspirations were Olivia and Daan. Specifically their moon-scorched forms. similarly to Daan Idia becomes possessed by another entity.
Referencing book 6 of twst when the soul of the deceased ortho whispers and possesses (robot) ortho who then convinces Idia to voluntarily overblot, In this scenario, idia is haunted by the tortured soul of his younger brother.
Under the influence of Rher, a corrupted piece of Ortho's soul traps idia within his own grief and anguish burning away his flesh and becoming a skeletonized hollow of himself. A corrupted ortho puppeteers Idia’s mechanical skeleton body and attacks the player in a dazed rage
Idia’s story was heavily influenced by Olivia's story and her connection to mechanics. Idia’s techy nature also allows himself to be placed into this mechanical category.
Before his brother's death, his family were engineers working on building a device that would allow humanity to transcend the human form. This device was ordered to be made by governing forces to create super soldiers that could forever fight. Or at least that is what Idia was told.
One day Ortho happened to get trapped within the device as Idia was working on it. The device that was supposed to have been turned off had suddenly turned on. Shortly after the accident, the machine and consequently ortho’s body vanished.
Idias main motivation is his search for answers about the true reason for the machine and who how and why the mechanism activated. His search for answers ends when he finds the machine god. Following in the footsteps of Olivia in searching for her twin, idias story follows a similar path.
Vengeance seeks to destroy all those who try and stop idias quest for revenge against whatever he perceives to have killed his brother.  To be encountered on the third day in the museum. vengeance will spawn if the player fails to convince idia to continue searching for answers in the face of unending ruin.
Mirroring the heroes that he and his brother admired, vengeance stands heroically and shows no mercy to those who stand in its way. Carrying Ortho's burning soul over his heart vengeance blindly follows the will of Rher and their unknowable goals.
In this au ortho takes the role of Reila.

This is a redo of my "picking apart the most contentious part of Pocketcat" post! I'm redoing it because I've put way more research into his character.
I don't believe Pocketcat (the entity) is a pedophile. This is a very contentious and ludicrous statement, allow me to explain my reasoning. (Below the cut)
I believe that Fear and Hunger 1 Pocketcat (wooden mask), Termina Pocketcat, and Daan Pocketcat are all three vastly different entities. The only thing they have in common is that they're Pocketcat, the body presumingly acting as a host for the entity Pocketcat. But they all three act vastly different.
I mentioned in my previous post that there's a few marks "Pocketcat" has to hit. I'll reiterate (and add on):
He must obey Rher, as he is a combination between being a servant of the trickster moon god and being a storybook Boogeyman come to life. This devotion is the most important thing for him.
He must kidnap/kill children. It's not stated that they're necessarily "bad" children.
He must act gentlemanly while undercutting that polite demeanor (masturbating while offering to trade is the most well known example.)
The reason I didn't mention that he eats kids is because we only get two confirmations that he does that: Tales of the Pocketcat and a cutscene sequence in the Tower of the Endless where he drags a kid into the darkness and (presumably) eats it. Meaning that I don't believe that's a requirement to be Pocketcat as it isn't something shown across two or more of the Pocketcats we see.
I mentioned previously and I'll reiterate: Termina Pocketcat acts differently than the Pocketcat in the first game. Termina Pocketcat doesn't make any allusions to wanting to do anything perverse to children, and he doesn't make untoward comments towards Levi or Marina, despite them both being 18. If Pocketcat were inherently a pedophile, I feel as though he would've said something perverted towards those two.
In fact, the only interaction we see involving Pocketcat and a child is him (presumably) beating a child to death in his burlap sack. When you see Pocketcat's room, you can see many more of these burlap sacks (which leads me to suspect further more that consuming the kids isn't a requirement).
The only time Pocketcat in Termina makes any perverse comments towards the contestants is towards Karin. HOWEVER, there is a catch: this isn't said by normal Pocketcat. This is said by Daan Pocketcat.
A lot of people bring up that Pocketcat is hypocritical: in battle he says he's not to interfere, but then he brings Olivia to the museum. Except there's another catch: normal Pocketcat will NEVER bring Olivia to the museum. It's only ever Daan Pocketcat that does so.
Daan Pocketcat ignores Rher's wishes for Pocketcat to not participate in the festival. Aka: Daan Pocketcat is my proof that Pocketcat's hosts can influence their actions, that Pocketcat doesn't simply override their personality.
Okay okay, so what makes me think that Termina Pocketcat is "regular" Pocketcat? There's a few reasons, namely that I don't think Pocketcat would be looking for a new host when he has one that works so easily with him (what would be the point?). But also, during Dungeon Nights mode in the first game, Pocketcat's appearance changes from the wooden mask to: a purple mask similar to his Termina one. Not to mention that the graphic for "Tales of the Pocketcat" depicts Pocketcat in nearly the same way as his Termina counterpart. Which would lead me to assume that Termina Pocketcat is the default Pocketcat.
Aka: Fear and Hunger one Pocketcat is a host, probably one that's losing what little morals they have and indulging in something disgusting. Which would make Pocketcat NOT a pedophile.
I rest my case.
(Also this is just a theory! I'm well aware that Miro stepped away from Pocketcat being a pedophile because he thought it was too edgy for Fear and Hunger. I just think it's interesting that there's a lot of parallels that can be drawn to point to it being a host issue! :] )

Okay putting this thought out there:
Pocketcat in Funger Termina, yeah?
So. He says Rher put him there to make sure the game's going smoothly, without direct interference. He sells you good items for heads of the other contestants for a motive.
However.
If you kill Daan, he won't appear at the museum.
1. He doesn't love me. :( lies.
2. He is only interested in Daan and nothing else about this Termina Festival
3. Adding on to the second point, even if he got orders from Rher to make sure you have an incentive to kill, he's only giving that offer once, after he realises you killed the medic boy he was haunting.
Also there's the whole. Like is Per'kele for real when he means Rher never intended for this festival to happen, and like he only used the Moon for his own Sulfur cult stuff. Cause if Rher never knew of this festival, only realising it's happening in ending B when the traces of him peeks at you for a moment before fading back in disinterest. How. Did Pocketcat get orders???

funger sims i made.... (enki, d'arce and le'garde) I made the girl too but these guys just live in the background of my legacy challenge and she aged up and chose the most atrocious clothes ever (enki & d'arce also live with cahara, celeste and ragnvaldr but I mostly just got those guys off the gallery /w some minor edits. le'garde lives in another household for space reasons)
Also I made CC to add swatches to the base game + dlc eyelashes so they come in like, every hair color bc i Love colored eyelashes and I'm SO MAD they only gave us black and dark brown like wtf
I'm gonna put Celeste under read more bc i Did Not make her but I want to show off the white eyelashes bc I think they are gongeous <3
Tumblr media
muah... also cahara and her had their daughter and they named her London which is crazy. also enki and d'arce autonomously started dating which is kind of sick...
also London got the exact same bowlcut as d'arce which is perplexing but maybe cahara & celeste let her cut their kid's hair idk.
