Also fun thing is that i started going by Lemon on social medias then some time after Citron.. i just translated my name!!! (it's both my fav word in english and french..)

Ciel likes to watch the sky. He likes to watch how the clouds race to overtake each other, he likes to watch the sun dancing alone in its place, twirling its colorful skirt of orange, yellow and pink during the hours that pass until finally the moon takes its place.

Quiet moments like this now, where he just sits in his armchair, his work all done and Sebastian far away, is when he can think about the things he's lost. But also the ones he won. If Sebastian had any knowledge about such thoughts, Ciel would certainly be subjected to his jokes and mockery.

The demon, while bound by the contract, could still make fun of his little master and he knew exactly how to embarrass the young lord. But Sebastian didn't need to know how the boy thinks about his twin brother, his parents, the employees and his childhood friend, Y/n; If they were alive now they would be maybe thirteen or fourteen, just like him and his brother. It was a fateful day, indeed.

The murder, the cult, Ciel hates remembering it, but he doesn't know how to let it all go. He's a child and there's no one he can ask for help - even if there was, perhaps his pride wouldn't allow it. He didn't ask for help when he was kidnapped, he didn't ask for help when he went through countless assassination attempts, nor did he ask for help with difficult tasks that the queen assigned him. He was the Phantomhive heir, the family's leader, he couldn't just simply ask for help.

The count narrows his blue eyes at the brooding darkness that has settled in his office, counting how many grains of sand fall into the hourglass and how long he has left in peace before Sebastian shows up to annoy him.

Maybe fifteen minutes.

With enough time for the boy to put his small plan into action, he pulled a wooden board from one of the drawers and placed it on the table. Ciel, by and large, was not superstitious, but recent events had left him puzzled. Moreover, he had a demon as his butler, a boy with super strength as his gardener, a sniper as his maid, and a soldier as his cook. In any case, he had even encountered death gods.

Therefore, if he suspected that the presence lingering over his shoulders while he worked or the entity hiding his items and making them appear in different places was something to be investigated, then he would investigate until his doubts were cleared. The giggles and whispers were becoming unsettling. Of course, he heard voices, but they were the voices of occultists, screams and cries from when they died at the hands of Sebastian.

But this particular voice was incredibly irritating and almost familiar.

Ciel scanned the wooden surface, wondering if he was a fool for buying it. The boy was almost certain that Sebastian knew about the board, but he decided not to comment; the butler had been rather distant since they returned from London that morning. Ciel didn't mind, quickly reading the rules and holding the pointer in his hands, trying to see something through it.

There was nothing… yet.

Ciel laid the pointer on the board and sighed, placing his fingers on it, ready to start. He hadn't said anything yet, but an aura already seemed to completely envelop his office. Or maybe he was anxious; he couldn't tell.

"Is there anyone there?" Ciel murmured, his firm voice echoing in the silent room.

For several moments, nothing happened. He really didn't expect anything to happen, judging this whole thing as something foolish that only became popular because of the horror stories that circulated in cities. He stared at the board intently, each letter in cursive, every mystical symbol adorning it, waiting for a response that would satisfy him. Impatiently, he repeated the question once more.

"Is there anyone there?" He looked at the pointer and then around. "If there is, give me a sign."

This time, the pointer began to move slowly across the board as if the entity on the other side was drowsy, gliding from one letter to another with a calmness that Ciel himself didn't possess. Ciel watched with intensity, his expression impassive. But inside, a strange feeling took hold of him.

It was real, after all. As real as shinigamis or Sebastian. He stifled another sigh in his throat.

"Who is there?" He asked, the words leaving his lips with determination.

Who behind the veil was tormenting him, holding on to him tightly so as not to be pulled into the forgetfulness of eternal sleep. He put more force on the pointer as if everything depended on the answer he would receive.

The letters came together to form words, and Ciel remained focused, but a hint of skepticism was present in his gaze when the words spelled out a name. Your first and last name.

"Y/N?" He wondered aloud.

Ciel may have lost a lot, but he also gained a lot. He gained another family, gained new friends allies, gained a new chance.

And yet… He hadn't gained you back. Or had he?

For a second, he let the pointer rest on the board, feeling a heavy sensation settle in his chest as he thought about the days when you used to stay by his side when he was bedridden with asthma, telling him your silly stories and jokes, all while holding his hand and looking tenderly at him. You were his best friend. And he missed you a lot.

And now you were here. You were here.

He placed his finger on the pointer again, still feeling doubtful if it was really you or some other spirit. Confidently, he asked something that only you knew. "What was the nickname that only you called me, and why?"

The nickname you used for him when it was just the two of you. Not for his brother, not for Ciel. If it was really you there, you would notice the small differences, as you did when you were alive.

The pointer moved, taking with each movement a beat of the young earl's heart. One by one, the letters formed a nickname forgotten by time and bitter memories of the only Phantomhive still wandering through this tedious world.

"Pleiades, that's what I used to call you." There was a pause, and Ciel felt his entire body trembling with the confirmation that yes, it was you on the other side. He straightened up in his chair, trying to show that he was calm — little did he know that you could perceive how surprised he was.

And you would tease him about it later.

"Just like your hair, they are blue, an optical phenomenon caused by the dispersion of light in the Earth's atmosphere." You explained, nodding as if he could see you. Ciel rolled his eyes but almost unconsciously smiled.

"I see you remain a know-it-all." He teased.

And you stuck your tongue out at him, moving your arms to make the chair he was sitting in slide backward. Ciel's cheeks immediately turned pink as a little yelp escaped his lips. He hadn't expected you to have more tricks up your sleeve, but soon he regained his composure and cleared his throat, watching you move the pointer.

"One of us has to be clever," You chuckled. "Obviously, I'm the smart friend."

Ciel let out a long sigh. "Your knowledge is all random, though."

You shrugged. What importance did any kind of knowledge have now that you were dead? You said nothing for a few minutes, running your fingers over the wood of the board and the supposedly mystical symbols. Being dead was boring, different for everyone, and you weren't even sure how your soul managed to escape the shinigamis for so long.

But you had one certainty; you were stuck in this world for some reason still. In many stories, there would be an unfulfilled desire or a want, and you had several, but you had made peace with the fact that you could no longer fulfill them. So what was still keeping you there?

"Hey, can I ask you something?"

Ciel nodded, gesturing with his hand for you to continue.

"Can you free me? Can you invite me out?"

Ciel had already broken some rules, especially the one that said he couldn't play alone and that the player should have a form of spiritual protection, whatever they had faith in — a crucifix, a talisman, anything. Ciel, however, had a mark on his eye, so you assumed that nullified this rule. Did that thing serve as a protective mark, though?

The boy remained silent for some time, seemingly weighing the pros and cons of taking such action. To bind a spirit to himself, to the world of the living, when he knew he should let you rest in peace, when he knew such agreements were dangerous.

But he was still the selfish earl who liked to monopolize your time; he was still that same sickly boy who needed a friend. And no one else could be his friend but you. Only you understood him, after all.

He nodded.

It was foolishness, but not even Sebastian could have stopped him. He pressed the pointer harder, desperate for it to work, but of course, it would work if you were already in front of him, the dead proof that there could be life in death.

"I invite you, Y/n, to leave this board."

A warm feeling flooded your chest, as if your skin were kissed by the sun again after so long. You savored it for a moment, smiling, feeling strangely more alive than before, and withdrew your hand from the pointer.

"Can you see me?" You asked, your voice hoarse from not speaking for months.

But Ciel didn't seem to understand, not yet at least. So you touched his cheek as you did when congratulating him on a chess victory, and he felt it, his eyes widening as he assimilated the situation. You figured that now that you touched him, he could hear you, so you asked the question again.

And slowly, he nodded. You could only imagine what he thought of your bloodstained shirt and disheveled appearance, so different from the one you once proudly preserved. Times change, and so do you, and you were like this now, a lost ghost that not even death seemed to want.

You smiled, squeezing both of his cheeks and watching him shudder. It was good to see him, good to be back, even if nothing would be the same. Nothing could ever be the same again, but being able to touch him again after so long, you didn't hesitate to hug him.

You were together again.

i've mentioned it before, but Lambert's "real" name is 'Oona'! but they don't remember this in the slightest, and even when they do remember they don't use start using that name (because who 'Oona' was is no longer who they, Lambert, are now)

He had a hole blown through his chest when he was mortal by an enemy of Shamura, which lead to him getting his crown (he was still really young as well at this point, not a great combo), the second time was when he was being chained; a chain went straight through his heart, which was also the most painful chain. Final time was well. when he dies in snah; his heart is ripped out, frozen solid, and shattered. SORRY FOR ALL THAT, NARINDER.

also, post-defeat during the earlier days he spent a lot of time getting his magical prowess back <3 he struggles to cast active curses, but he becomes proficient in more 'passive' magic, and actually enchants his weapon when he gets it back to make it stronger to make up for the physical strength he lost. very much a glass canon <3

At this point I've basically long since run dry on Bleach funfacts, certainly out of any that have any real weight in the broader readings of the series. But I do have one not-so-fun fact still left up my sleeve --a real dead end nothing contribution... So buckle up, I guess? I apologize in advance if this ends up, like, I dunno, spoiling the aesthetic(?) for anyone. Feel free to just ignore this and move on if you're touchy about keeping your obsessive fandom experiences squeaky clean.

So, I noted back when I was combing thru Quincy terms, that it felt a little less than comfy that in addition to the general n*zi aesthetics Juugram's official title was in fact "Sternritter Grand Master" which felt, at the time, like an unfortunate coincidence that it would fall in line with the naming scheme of the K*K's nonsense titles like Grand Wizard/Grand Dragon, Grand Cyclops, Grand Magi and various other ridiculous sounding occultist LARPer horseshit they've cycled thru over the past century+. But I just kinda left it at that and didn't think to dig any deeper,

But then I was reminded that in the early days of the K*K one of their stated goals was to establish a white supremacist "country" inside the united states, and as they dabbled in this insurgency fantasy, they dubbed this goal of a secret, second, white nation within the confines of the USA, their "Invisible Empire"...

And although the word we hear throughout the TYBW arc is the German Wändenreich[ヴァンデンライヒ] from Wänden:“Walls” and Reich:“Empire/Realm,” the Japanese meaning underlying that term is [見えざる帝国]: “Unseen/Invisible Empire.”

In fact the white robed and hoods tradition stemmed from what were initially petty pranks(although they escalated very quickly in seriousness and danger) in which they would menace black communities and abolitionists by pretending to be the ghosts of dead confederates. In this capacity the imagery and language around them also evoked an "Army of Ghosts."

And although it was never properly addressed, there was always this vague issue of the Quincy's ages... Those with clear backgrounds like Juugram and Bazz-B seem impossibly old. And we see that As Nodt is recruited on what appears to be his deathbed --in a hospital, on life support and in fear of dying, with a bible on his bedside as if ready to be read his last rites-- and of course the Quincy genocide of 200 years prior.

And tangential to this, we see the brief, if mostly pointless, return of the three dead Fullbringers --Ginjo, Tsukishima, and Giriko-- who all seem to have retained their memories and powers across the borders of life and death. (We won't ask about how or why their fullbring items are still usable) Is it safe to speculate then that the Quincy are in fact a literal Army of Ghosts? It explains how they're able to go toe to toe with the shinigami in ways Uryuu's initial explanations of their skills would've suggested wasn't possible. (i.e. that they were describes as being regular flesh and bone humans and only their weapons are actually supernatural, and thus they are not capable of particularly extraordinary physical feats, or blessed with any superhuman durability.) And it also sort of makes more sense that rather than being a bunch of flesh and blood humans who survived losing the war, somehow spiritized themselves to get into the afterlife, and then hid for 999 years, that they could have just been humans who died first and were recruited as ghosts, having been spirited away into the shadow realm. Or Quincy that died with the full intent of reuniting as ghosts, having some kind of assurance that they would retain their memories and powers.

I like the former over the latter though, as it means the Ishida family really were the last living Quincy. But I do like the morbid idea of Yhwach commanding his army, Jamestown style, to kill themselves as the first step to them going to heaven. Only in this case the kingdom of god as they imagine it has to be fought for because the shinigami are already have a whole society there and need to be driven out first.

There is also a lot of "Knight" and "White Knight" imagery and titles evoked in the K*K's long history, and while that's absolutely vague enough to be handwaved on its own, it's definitely not not adjacent to all this....

(This has nothing to do with anything I just had already slapped the uniforms pic together and wanted to use it somewhere)

So to sort of loosely review everything going on with the Quincy....

Catholic inverted priest frocks, crosses, silver and exorcisms, holy eucharist angel wings&halo final forms, blood eucharist schrift, conversion based recruitment policies, the whole "one kingdom under god" shtick, miracle baby son of god christ figure, explicit mention of monotheism

but then also 5 pointed crosses/stars and pentagrams,

victims of a genocide with a dr.mengele nemesis, YHWACH-v-YHWH

inverted Hugo Boss uniforms, german themed attacks, skills and tools, crosses again, explicitly evoking the Schutzstaffel with Yhwach's royal guard, and nonsense blood purity eugenics b.s.... weirdly not touched upon "black sun" or swastika imagery tied to Ichigo

For some reason a few loose threads of what appear to be Loius XIV and his sun god apollo fixation, purifying light and sun and stars motifs

YHWACH having big Backbeard energy, the literal evocation of Backbeard, being a western ghost army

and now these mismatched crumbs of what appear to be deliberate K*K references: ghost army, invisible empire, grandmaster, etc...

Like... I don't think this makes them worse, or paints Kubo as some kind of crackpot racist --in case my stance on his use of n*zi imagery didn't make that clear-- but like... I don't know what to make of it honestly... It's as inconsequential to the actual message or plot as anything else, including the n*zi stuff, but it just feels weird knowing it's there? Ohh yet another good one! Of course I am willing! What a question! Hehe Let's see what I remember as well from my times at studies! Hahahaha I love the ending though "If you want to rumble" Hahahahaha! As you see no problem with that dear! If it is rumble you want, rumble I shall deliver! Hahahahahaha!

Well unfortunately a great deal of information on the mycenaean greek society comes from some very good educated guesses based on the findings than anything else. Unfortunately even if Linear B, arguably the first known and confirmed form of archaic Greek, is valuable, we still do not have a large corpus or variety of texts. Most of the texts that are plenty even if fragmentary are mainly logistics from what we call "transactions with the palace or megaron" than actual sources of literature, laws or society and most of them were saved by luck. For ecample the extended corpus of Linear B plates found in the so-called "Nestor's Palace" in Pylos were saved only because the palace burnt, thus baking the raw clay and making the text readable nowadays. The texts however reveal valuable information on city names and goods being exchanged from one palace to another as well as names of people, official titles and gods' names! So we can tell one similarity we have is that in mycenaean times many of the gods known throughout the years of greek evolution were already known such as Zeus, Hera, Dionysus, Athena etc.

So religiously speaking they believed in the same pantheon (even if we do not have ALL the names of every god worshiped in later years the number of god names saved on the tablets can make us see that they have the same religion and culture on that part, although the worshipping practices are hard to pintpoint. The texts do mention that some offerings are made to the gods but the way they are done is subject of research. From the tablets we also know that the title of Priest and Priestess did exist so we are not, probably, speaking on a theocracy where the king is also an exlusive priest (although Homer seems to be touching the subject, making kings offer sacrifices, see for example Odysseus, and yet none of the kings also claim themselves a priest. In fact they get advised by priests)

For the political system we still make hypothesis on how it works. It seems like every major city has a region of influence around it and that transactions or taking care of the earth was regulated by the central palace or anactoron (thus the term anactorial system). It seems that the central palace was also the center of gathering goods from around the area for we have tablets that explicitly speak on transfers of goods from and to the palace outside. Of course the hypothesis that this is some sort of central palace being the residence of a king is purely hypothetical and based on the richness of its construction and its complexity rather than real evidence although the term "wanax" or "άναξ" aka "king" appears in the tablets but the hypothesis is very strong. We also see from examples such as Tyrinis a very strong connection with Anatolia and exchange of culture, for example we see the triangular arches

You can see examples here from Mycenae Hattusa and Tyrinis. The cultural and architectural exchanges reached their peak at about the middle of this period. Artistically speaking the Mycenaeans follow the traditions of the Minoans and we see exceptional artworks happening. For example we follow the tradition of siglia rings engraved in stone and gold and if I may some of them are of exceptional beauty for example the ring at the tomb of "Griffin's Warrior" in Pylos that dates exactly to the passage between the one civilization and the other.

In art we also see very beautiful war or hunting themes in pottery art or even in weaponry. Some researchers compared it to Minoan times and claimed that it is "less sophisticated" but quite honest some of the samples are also very well preserved even if more simple to their execution

Technologically I think the Mycenaeans were far more advanced than what people give them credit for. For example greeks are always known for their hydraulic "machines" among others but how many people know really that they managed to drain the entire lake Kopais, around the fortification of Gla like 3000 years ago? The Greeks took advantage of undergdound tunnels that naturally existed and managed to make the water escape thus creating grounds for growing crops. Kopais lake was at some point re-filled with water and in modern days people tried to re-drain it without a result and they discovered the mycenaean draining system which was still functional and to this day the lake Kopais remains drained and used for growing crops

For some reason at the end of bronze age internal conflicts, outside attacks as well as the Doric Greek Tribes coming from the north, created a hostile environment which led possibly to wars and conflict that eventually is estimated to have led to the fall of Palatal system. We do see for example the existence of fortifications such as Gla in the middle of nowhere which probably served as refuge for those who were getting attacked and for better supervision of the area.

This eventually led to the beginning of the Iron Age and Homer's era with the rise of City State eventually at the Archaic Years. I believe we can talk on a small change to the situation in Homer's time although the City State form of government doesn't seem crystalized at his time we do see some of it in his epics so maybe we can talk on this change on the political spectrum with also the stopping of existence of palatial system and starting to shift to other forms of government (eventually to the upcoming centuries the kingdoms will almost cease to exist with some exceptions such as the kingdoms at upper Thessaly, Macedonia, Epirus and Sicily. Sparta is also an exception for they keep their kings but the main power is held by the elders)

We do not have much evidence on Homer's time either given how little written evidence is being saved. But we do get the shift in written language from Linear B to the Greek alphabet (adapted from the Phoenician one) which is the Alphabet we use to this day. One of the most ancient samples of it is the so-called "Nestor's Cup" which dates in the 8th century BC and includes one of the first samples of Greek Alphabetical scripture. Technologically speaking of course we have the extensive use of Iron and steel that wasn't a thing before as much and potentially we have more the use of tools for geometric shapes.

Artistically speaking we have samples of little statuettes and vases that mostly depict geometric shapes (thus giving the name to the period as "Geometric Period". We have also some of the early samples of chariot depictions in this geometric style and in fact I have heard some researchers associate this art with a narrative, potentiall even quoting the homeric poems that possibly gained popularity such as this famous sample):

Another thing that needs to be said is that at the 8th century BC we also have the beginning of an event we follow to this day, the Olympic Games which according to the scriptures that we have is placed to 776 BC

I saw @dapperpea ask for another one of my ramblings about names and etymology but with Gaius this time.

So let's talk Gaius Baelsar.

As mentioned in my previous post, Gaius was most likely primarily named after Gaius Julius Caesar, roman dictator and key figure in the rise of the Roman Empire from the Roman Republic. To cement this connection to the Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar further as Gaius' namesake I will have to refer briefly to another character; Livia sas Junius.

While we don't know the exact relationship between these two (and I won't go into speculations about the in-game relationship, this is about names) there is reason to suggest that Livia and Nero were named partially to help establish Gaius as a parallel to Julius Caesar. Nero being named after one of his most famous Centurion and Livia being named after the wife of Emperor Gaius Augustus, Livia Drusilla, adopted daughter of Julius Caesar.

Both of them were also very brilliant and talented tacticians commanding their forces on the field and showing remarkable military victories. An example being the victories Caesar managed to pull of in the Gallic War through various means culminating in him conquering Gaul for Rome, not unlike the preset in ARR with Gaius and the XIVth Legion being set up in a similar way trying to conquer Eorzea for the Garlean Empire.

As a funny addendum; Julius Caesar believed himself to be a direct descendant from Aeneas, a minor figure in the Trojan war who later became relevant in the Aeneas Myth as the Ancestor of Romulus and Remus and by extension Rome. That is funny because Aeneas mother is Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. (I could go into another side tangent about why Caesar claimed that and why Aphrodite, or Venus rather, was a clever connection to establish and worship in ancient Rome as a politician and her origins as a War Goddess, but this is about FFXIV and I am not OSP)

Further connections to Caesar can be made in their downfall; betrayed by allies, Caesar was famously assassinated by senators and stabbed to death while Gaius arguably got betrayed in the Praetorium by Lahabrea using the Heart of Sabik to cast Ultima and then left after his defeat at the hands of the Warrior of Light, both falling to their demise at the age of 56. Though there is another General that could also have been inspiration for Gaius, something I will cover a bit further down. For now, let's focus on the name and it's etymology itself.

Gaius was not an uncommon name in Rome, one of Julius Caesars assassins was named Gaius Longinus, and the list of emperors and famous people with Gaius somewhere in their name is longer than I want to recall, including Caligula's real name, who was named Gaius Julius Caesar in honor of the emperor we discussed so far.

It was one of the most common personal names, or Praenomen, in ancient Rome, and one of the oldest in use, also spelled as Caius. Interesting side-tangent; the feminine form of Gaius is Gaia and the only Praenomen more frequent than Gaius was Lucius if i recall correctly.

Due to this Gaius as a name developed a special denotation as a referral to any man, kind of like John Doe, and Gaia followed suit. Your wedding vows in ancient Rome quiet literally had you say "As you are Gaius, I am Gaia", that is how much of a common name Gaius was.

Gaius most likely is derived from the same root the word gaudere originated from, meaning "to rejoice" or "to take pleasure [in something]". Funfact, the Italian godere evolved from this Proto-Italian word gaudere and can be slang for "Cumming" alongside its other connotations of taking pleasure or enjoying something.

Now, where it gets interesting once more is Baelsar. You see, Baelsar as a last name does not exist, not really. There are similar sounding last names to Baelsar, like Belzer which is a Middle High German last name roughly meaning fur and denoting a furrier, but nothing if you look for Baelsar specifically.

Bael itself was, before being demonized, a Canaanite weather and fertility God.

If we took the name apart we could get Bael and Sar.

Bael being the name of a demon in the Lesser Key of Solomon with command over either six, sixty-six or 250 legions, warden of the east and power to turn man invisible, love and science.

We could also look to the Bael tree, a fruit tree from India who is sacred to Hindus and in early hymns declared place of residence of the Goddess Lakshmi (Goddess of Luck, Love, Fertility, Prosperity, Beauty and Health) as well as an incarnations of the goddess Sati (Goddess of Power, Marital Felicity and Longevity) and favored by Shiva (God of Destruction).

Both of these avenues derive from vastly different sources, one from a God turned Demon, and the other from Hinduism.

Another look we could take is into the pronunciation of Gaius' last name; we hear it most commonly spoken as Belsar, where we swallow the a, just like with ��theris. If we now turn our Bael into Bæl we have a word that actually exists with Proto-Indo-European roots, a word we can find in Old English, meaning "Funeral Pyre".

Sar also being found in many languages, but in Old English specifically meaning painful or sore, as well as other variations of these words alluding to wounds or pain.

If we put all that aside and only look at the pronunciation of his last name we will get a more probable and logical origin of it. Belsar comes from the Late Latin word Belisari. Belisari itself is the genitive of Belisarius, meaning roughly "Axe" and "Warrior", and also being the name of a famous general in the byzantine Empire who had a fascinating military career, similar to Gaius in game, showing off success after success for his emperor in battle before being tried and branded a traitor and conspirator.

It was quite fun diving into the possible connections and inspirations Gaius name has and discovering both parallels to famous roman generals and political figures like Julius Caesar and Belisarius as well as the, quite surprising, connections to religion we could get from his last name if we butchered it a bit. Most of these finds, especially everything regarding his last name, are definitely a stretch on my part and most likely not the real intentions.

Following those thoughts thou, some head canons that arose from my research on this:

The Baelsar family itself was never of that much importance in the Empire and only became known after Gaius rose through the military ranks

His first command of a troupe was given to him relatively early, somewhere in his late 20's to early 30's

There is definitely a not insignificant number of people in the Empire in their probably mid to late teens called Gaius or Caius specifically because of him and his renown

He definitely knows how to skin and tan fur

how come theres so few stories of people having dated an idol? i can ask through reading what itd be like with xyz idol but id have thought by now that more people who have actually dated an idol wouldve given their experiences on it or is there too much backlash if they do speak about it? i know ndas are to protect the idol but how long do they last and dont they have to renew an nda even after they stop dating or hooking up? im sure some idols have broken a few hearts along the way so yeah im surprised that there arent legimate stories of someones experience with an idol. considering how much fake rumors there are about them.

I am pretty sure that the biggest reason we don’t see a lot more people coming forward with dating k-pop idols is quite literally because it’s their private life.

As in, both the idol’s and the person’s private life. They quite literally do not owe us anything, not a story time nor a hint. [Although I would like to say I find it quite annoying when people do story times about an idol without mentioning the name because you can always tell they are lying.]

It’s not that idols don’t date non idols, they do, some also have quite a preference for it even. I am sure idols date people like youtubers, make up artists, office workers, baristas and so on because at the end of the day they are human too. It’s not that idols don’t date idols, but it’s just that there have been several cases of idols dating non idols with regular jobs like you and I. It’s just their private life.

I do remember someone younger than I, a rookie idol, being “caught” dating a classmate by a saesang (ew), GOT7’s JB dating a youtuber and I am pretty sure Taecyeon from 2PM has a non celebrity partner who he is protective over: so we do not know anything about the person really, but their relationship is quite serious I assume.

To be frank with you, I don’t know how NDAs work, my assumption is after the first one expires and you are still in contact with one another you have to sign another one.

Regardless I don’t think that’s the only thing holding people back from telling whether or not they have dated an idol.

Firstly, come to think of it, who would believe you if you owned up to dating one? Let alone if the person is popular. Even if you have proof it can be faked easily, and delusional k-pop fans who feel entitled to their bias’ love sure as hell will accuse you, no matter if you genuinely tell the truth or not. The “fans” who view these idols as dolls, as objects to control and play along with sure as hell won’t give you the grace of treating you with respect. Treating you as if you were a human. So, knowing you will be treated like this, who the hell would want to own up to it unprovoked? And who knows, your ex might see it and find it embarrassing that you go around bragging that you dated them at once. That is humiliating enough on it’s own too.

Aside from that, we have to keep in mind that these people don’t just date idols to brag about it later on. At least, I assume most don’t. Otherwise they would be a piece of garbage.

Regardless, if an idol chose to date someone, anyone, regardless of their status, the person would need to be incredibly trustworthy. Even when they just hook up with people. They are not dumb, they can tell when you look at them as a human vs as someone you have a fantasy about rather than choosing to see them as their real self.

So with this in mind I am sure that when an idol x non idol starts to date it’s genuinely because they fell in love with each other not because they want to brag. At the end of the day, both sides are human. They date to be able to talk to the person, show them love and look after them. Not to break up 6 months later and gossip about the person. [Funfact, wealthy people are actually way more likely to do this to you unless they have manners.. and a lot don’t lol]

If they date an idol, that’s a whole different story though.

They both know to not publicise it without the both of them agreeing, how the industry works, know each others history better and actually have a lot more chances of seeing each other around. [If you see idols break up bc of not having time for each other they are lying 99% of the time.]

In my eyes it’s like dating someone from your school vs waiting to become an adult and meet someone who you can connect with on a mature level you know? It will either work out, or it won’t.

Either way I agree with what you said, I do think there are a lot of idols who have broken hearts along their idol career. It would be weird if there wouldn’t be.

Just like you can tell there are idols who are completely pure. Never dated and inexperienced due to whatever belief or experience they have. I think it’s funny when people say there are none because they are grown but at the end of the day some could choose to be protective over their body. That’s completely okay too! People act like it’s a shame when it’s not. In my experience though, there are a lot more hos in the idol industry than you would think 🤧🤧🤧 [I am not sorry for saying this, some of these people are NASTY]
