Swallow ― fun facts

so i made a post like this for Lysander/my Yuu and i since i had a lot of fun writing it, i thought i'll make them for my other OCs as well since it's a nice and low effort way to let you guys learn more about the OCs i don't talk about as much (even tho i really should). so this time: Swallow Reynard aka my Robin Hood OC aka my beloved fox boy who i think about so much yet never post about </3. enjoy!

he's actually an orphan; when his father was coming back from night shift at work, he had found tiny baby Swallow in a bag at a train station and took him home. Swallow treats his adoptive parents as his real family in every sense of the word and has no interest in trying to find his biological parents

his parents are working class people, not especially wealthy, and they live in a more rural area. he had grew up in a house full of people since beside him and his parents, a few other relatives of them live there as well (one of his grandmas, a few of his aunts/uncles, his cousins). his family is also very close with their neighbours; the place they live in is one where everyone knows eachother. it's mostly why Swallow is so community oriented

he doesn't have actual siblings but he basically treats all of his cousins as his siblings. he's the oldest kid at their house and so naturally he was always the "leader" of their little group and would always come up with what games they would play. he's also very protective over them and did get into fights with any kids who would make fun of them

despite coming from the Queendom of Roses, culturally Swallow is the fantasy equivalent of Polish — his parents are immigrants (i mean, what's a fantasy version of the UK without Polish immigrants?). they taught him a lot about the culture and they would usually speak Polish while at home, so Swallow knows the language as well (you can imagine that he says everything with rolled r <3)

also Riddle collared him once for trying to teach the first years Polish swear words LMAO

fox beastmen tend to be on the smaller side (since, you know, foxes generally aren't know for being super big animals) so he's actually the shortest person in his family

has a lot of scars all over his body — when asked about it, he will tell you many fantastic tales about how he got them while doing something cool and heroic but the truth is that they're either a result of extremely stupid accidents that happened while he was playing outside or getting into fights with other kids

he has a septum piercing and a nose percing — both were done at home with the help of his cousins (the fact that he didn't get any infection and they generally healed pretty okay is a miracle)

like Ruggie, he had worked A LOT of odd jobs around the neighbourhood to help out his family

he's actually the only person in his immediate family that has magic — his parents boast to EVERYONE about their mage son who got into a prestigious magic school <3

his signature spell, Merry Thief, allows him to walk without making a sound or casting a shadow and appropriately to the name it had manifested when he was on the run from authorities

story-wise, the Heartshackle gang would first meet him after they got kicked out of the first Unbirthday party; he was sitting outside of the dorm, because he "refused to take part in Riddle’s tyrannical ways" as he'd say it. he doesn't really do much as far as the plot goes but he does provide some exposition on Riddle’s magic and why nobody was able to stop him before (also depending on the Yuu you put in the situation, he may shamelessly flirt with them LMAO)

to the surprise of everyone, he remembers most of the Queen's rules; back in their freshman year he would learn them so he could purposefully break them to prove a point to Riddle (not that it worked in any way but it didn't stop him from trying)

like i’ve been saying for the past few weeks now, KAVEH IS SO (GIRL) DAD CODED. this man jus screams girl dad or jus dad in general n i believe in that statement FULLY. kaveh’s a busy father who tries his best to tend to your needs n his little ones! (hint, they’re all girls) his daughters look EXACTLY like him and it’s acc insane :,3 kaveh just sparks me as a typa guy who’d be a dad, he jus gives off major dad energy! since he’s sassy, i bet his daughters would be sassy too n sass him daily :3

i got yet another comment confused about mutagenicity's itatori so i guess i will write. what are these called. a shipping manifesto???

so first i will disclaim that this ship started as a joke and then proceeded to have me waffle around what i thought the dynamic would be, so some posts probably contradict each other. i was also on the fence about producing shippy content of tori with ANYONE for a while (i have very obviously changed my stance on this lmao)

so first, context. tori and itachi have a long, complicated history with each other. in plasticity, tori makes it clear she has no interest in fucking with itachi's goals, but she's also fully and demonstrably capable of doing just that, even by accident. she is also, by the events of mutagenicity, the only person in the entire world who knows his full backstory. he actively recruits her to konoha both because tori Knowing Things means he needs to keep an eye on her (because who the fuck knows what she will do) but also because he sees her as a valuable ally.

tori spends plasticity both with anxiety that itachi might do something horrible to her, resenting him for the power he holds over her, and then also low key enjoying his company. eventually she will realize he'd probably make her best possible ally.

in mutagenicity, they end up close friends. this is both because they're on the same team and also because they are fucked up adults in tweenaged bodies. who else are they supposed to hang out with? actual children? i don't think either would rank the other as their BEST friend, but they are pretty close. itachi respects tori's skills from day 1 and will defer to her on certain topics, which is not something he will do for most people. tori agrees to high treason to kill danzo for itachi with zero questions, conditions, or asking for anything in return, which does absolute wonders for itachi's affection for her. they end up with a deep, mutual trust for each other, and they enjoy each other's company

the part that started as a joke (and i'm leaving in because i think it's 1) funny, and 2) a great way to spotlight itachi's insane personality) is that itachi decides they should date without telling tori.

the reason for this is basically that his clan duty is to marry and have kids, so around age 16 mikoto starts shoving girls at him. the idea here is: the uchiha are progressive enough that his parents would prefer a love marriage for their son, but the marriage does have to happen, and itachi has yet to show romantic interest in literally everyone. itachi's issue with this is that he..... kind of hates other people. he doesn't want to date random teenage girls, but mikoto is a seasoned social manipulator and he keeps ending up in situations like "alone in the park with some girl and they're both eating ice cream HOW DID THIS HAPPEN." also now suddenly women are interested in him because he's a well-known celebrated genius important clan heir. his life? is hell?

and then he realizes all his problems would be solved if he simply got his own girlfriend. so he sits back and reflects on "women my age that i wouldn't hate spending time with" and the only answer is tori. so he starts inviting her places and obviously she says yes because they are friends and she enjoys spending time with him.

eventually tori figures out he's.... dating her? and she gets mad and breaks up with him because THAT'S AN INSANE THING TO DO, ITACHI. but then after she cools off she decides, actually, this is a great arrangement. she DOES like hanging out with itachi, but he does this annoying thing where he'll disappear for months because he's bad at socializing, and if they're dating she can strong arm him into not doing that. a lot of typical date activities are fun and she likes having an excuse to dress up. she likes making him pay for stuff (tori is also horrible). she likes the trickery/deception angle. she likes the social advantage of having someone she can make go with her to events, the fact that having a boyfriend means sexual harassment goes down, the bragging rights, etc.

so tori goes back to him and proposes they "fake date" for mutual benefit. dw, itachi, tori is also a seasoned manipulator, and this will go SO MUCH BETTER for you if you let her be in charge of it. and itachi is like "she is SO right, what was i thinking, tori loves fucking with people's heads--" and they start dating again!

except they aren't like..... romantic. like, both of them, as people, are not super into romance. they don't give off Dating Vibes to most people, unless you're part of their inner circle, in which case you're just witnessing itachi and tori discovering they have a mutually compatible approach to dating and romance. they're both treating it like some sort of long-term mission because they're both morons in the same direction, but if you're like deidara or shisui or someone, you've just had the horrible realization that they're probably going to marry each other.

itachi and tori think they are in cahoots. it is only a bonus that the cahoots are fun. however yes at some point when you've committed hard enough and are having enough fun, the cahoots are simply a committed relationship

so guys 🙋🏻‍♀️🌸 i have finished the entire new quest at last and omg 👼🏼 like this was outstanding!! you see, what i really enjoy about star rail is that it gives me similar vibes to hi3 in terms of the darkness in the plot, since hi3 is my favorite hoyo game i always love seeing stuff from it or just similar instances. SO YOU KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS SO HYPED WHEN ACHERON SHOWED UP 🤺 especially with the hi3 story with kiana as the mc being over and although i still love hi3 the most, kiana, mei and bronya, that trio, they were all the best characters together AAAARGHHH I SWEAR AND JUST THE ENTIRE STORY LINE WAS SOOO GOOD, I miss them all together as a trio and especially kiana, the best hoyo MC FOR LIFE. 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷

also 🤠 ^^ that frame with sunday and dr ratio like 😙😙 WAS SO FUNNY I HAD TO SS IT. 🤺

the amount of cutscenes we got to see again was so fun, it felt like watching a movie slowly unfold while you got to be a part of it 🩷 you can tell that hoyoverse gets better and better with each update on whatever game and that the cutscenes are always so well done (i always liked them but the constant upgrades ??? insane) 🙏🏻

also guys, idk but aventurine's boss fight, 🤠 i personally expected more like it was so easy to beat ?! I THOUGHT I WOULD STRUGGLE BUT HE DIED PRETTY QUICKLY BUT ITS FINE, I STILL LIKE HIS CHARACTER 🌸🙋🏻‍♀️. + i was happy hoyoverse showed us his backstory and took their time to flash it out and not gloss over it in idk one/two scenes, but they really took their time with it which was amazing 🩷

also jade looks so cool as well! the design is very pretty and i can't wait to see diamond too, or the rest of the ten stonehearts but they're hyping diamond up so much like another emanator?? yes please, i'm all in🧎🏻‍♀️🩷

this entire quest gave me movie vibes, you were on edge the entire time and even during side quests you had to take, it was still very intense. it actually took me quite a bit to finish it of course since i'm someone who doesn't skip dialog, but it was so worth it and the best way to relax after a long day of moving my body 🩷 just laying in bed, playing while drinking tea!!

what i wanted to say too, guys honestly sunday is not okay HAHAHAHAHAHAH 🌝 I MEAN LIKE you guys🧎🏻‍♀️, that shiver in his voice at times and you can tell he low-key doesn't even know how to handle all of that either, of course, for one he looks like everything is accounted for while in the other, he sounds like he's losing his mind and can we blame him ???? when he went "why did you kill her" and lowkey cussed gallagher out i was like damn 🤠 okay 😏 HAHA + i'm somebody that doesn't think too much about theories, instead i love eagerly waiting for the next patch!! so i'm excited for what's coming 🩷 + robin's song slaps.

all in all guys!! 🩷 this quest was beautifully done, it had a lot of hard, dark stuff and it reminded me a lot of hi3, that's why i give it a 10/10, very well done. 🌸🩷

four different headcanons for Whirl!

Headcanon A:  realistic

so when you actually put together whirl's full pre-war backstory the fact he joined the autobots is definitely. interesting! he had more reason to hate the decepticons than the autobots, of course, but like, barely. (there's definitely an alternate universe where whirl was a neutral bounty hunter or something, i'm just saying.) my headcanon has always been that whirl joined despite everything because when optimus specifically invited him to, whirl recognised that he could play off optimus' guilt towards his own responsibility for a lot of the shit that happened wrt whirl he failed to adequately intervene in. and then he did that, lmao. whirl got away with a lot for a long time, and even taking into consideration he was a wrecker with the immunity to consequences that implies, i think the idea that things- problems- kept quietly going away because (for reasons almost nobody else can fathom) optimus keeps making them go away is interesting. and whirl joining up like 'well, let's see how far i can run with this', only to somehow run with it all the way to the end of the war, which he didn't expect.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

realistically i do not think whirl honestly thought enough about tailgate at all early on for this to be correct. but in my heart i believe very strongly that whirl knew that tailgate was lying about who he was from the second he opened his mouth, told nobody, and relentlessly trolled tailgate by putting him on the spot for shits and giggles. it's just too funny for me to let go of even as i acknowledge whirl and tailgate barely interact early on. just making this little mech's life a constant hell with his pointed questions and not-quite-nitpicking.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

i think it actually really fucks with whirl that springer woke up! whirl is very quick to emphasise that his attempt to kill springer was out of a belief that he was never going to recover and that refusing to turn off the life support was wrong (and knowing post-wrequiem springer probably survived because he has a unique spark...), and i honestly don't see any reason to disbelieve him. whirl's a violent asshole, but the specific series of events doesn't make much sense if he isn't telling the truth. so when he finds out springer did in fact wake up, i think that's a rare thing where it kind of throws him for a loop. probably going overboard to say he feels guilty, but i do think buried under a lot of 'what do i care i'm a killing machine' bravado, the fact he made such a miscalculation would bother him. (it's one thing to callously murder someone on purpose. it's another to nearly do so by accident because your judgement is, apparently, impaired.) good luck getting that one out of him, though.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

a very long time ago, minimus on a pre-war cybertron comissioned a custom timepiece from him. minimus has absolutely no memory of this being a pre-empurata whirl and will never connect the dots. whirl, on the other hand, found it very funny when the magnus armour stuff came out. he's made at least one oblique reference to minimus' pre-war life that really startled him because what the fuck why does whirl know that.

OKAY SO. oisin x kipperlilly is a really funny story, actually.

i've been rotating around different ship ideas with @ivyembracertifiedbitch , and we landed on thinking that buddy x ivy is really fun. in that ivy is constantly ""tempting him into sin"" (literally just like. Kissing Him.) and the idea that well, buddy doesnt kill people, Helio kills people and sometimes acts through buddy. and if buddy doesnt do anything and just lets ivy kiss him then he's not really doing anything it's just happening To him. and so its acceptable.

and then we were talking about oisin making fun of ivy for this. and i said ivy might say "well, at least IM kissing MY uptight blond, unlike you lmao".

and when i said this, i was meaning adaine. but he replied "oh do you want to share your kipperlilly x oisin thoughts?" and i was like... well i didnt mean that. but now let me Cook.

Basically, here's my main thoughts:

We canonically know that Kipperlilly had a strong instinct to 'protect Oisin', as seen in the Aelwyn convo.

Oisin is the only other Rat Grinder we see actively Enacting plots - teleportation at last stand, pingponggate, etc.

Although Kipperlilly definitely WANTS to be the leader, there's a good case to be made that Oisin is the one who is actually SEEN as the leader among TRG - he's the one who helped get the name changed, after all.

We know that Oisin's type is 'academic blond girl who has 100 mental illnesses.'

So I think this combination of facts can be used in some very fun ways!

Kipperlilly, who hates that Oisin is doing so much better then her, getting to lead the adventuring party, who has a stupid fucking Special Backstory with his grandma. And yet. And yet.

She sees first hand how hard he works, and she has to respect that. It makes her want to work even harder. Nobody else seems to be taking this seriously, but Oisin IS.

An alternative and funny scenario is the idea of them fake dating to try and make Lucy/Kristen/Ivy/Whoever you please as a crush for Kipperlilly & Adaine jealous. And then it just works out a little too well...?

Ivy x Lucy I don't have as much of an insane ramble for. But it's mainly built on these things:

Ivy was the one who saw Fake Lucy at the party. That feels like symbols and motifs, right...? Ivy seeing Fig's disguise and immediately knowing it's not Lucy. She would know.

I want Lucy to be weirder and not Dead Wife Montage and i think dating a mean girl would be an excellent way to achieve this.

1. Who's hand did you first grab? Why? Would you choose someone else if you could do it over again?

I grabbed Idia's hand! When I first got into TWST, I had absolutely no clue what I was getting into so I really just went based on which voice actors I recognized LOL. I know Kōki Uchiyama from a ton of different anime (JJK, Buddy Daddies, Haikyuu, BNHA, Yuri on Ice, etc.) so I just went with his character. While Idia doesn't crack the top 5 for me, I don't think I'd choose again. The only reason I would is if it impacted the story somehow but I really doubt it will. I'm COMITTED.

10. Top five favorite characters?

Grim occupies all top five spots. BUT since that's boring, so I'll limit my choices to the main cast lmao. (My love for the dire beast is PROFOUND) I got VERY wordy here so here's the short answer: 1. Riddle Rosehearts

5. Kalim Al-Asim Explanation below the cut! (I got very excited to talk about my favorites and wrote a lot so I figured I'd condense it for people who didn't want to scroll through it all lol whoopsies.)

1. Riddle Rosehearts - I have no explanation for this?? He's pretty much the opposite of my usual favorite characters so idk what happened here. I've always been drawn to the Alice in Wonderland aesthetic so maybe that has something to do with it? He's got such great character writing, too?? Everything about his personality just makes sense when you know his backstory. When we learn that Riddle's tyrant of a mother was strict and controlling over him, the pieces just seem to fall into place. His whole life was just following her rules and studying like a good little boy, and when he stepped out of line even a little bit he was reprimanded harshly for it. Of course, he's going to the exact same thing once he's in a position of power. It's all he knows. He's just another version of his mother. Not only does he uphold the tradition of punishing rule breakers rather severely as he was when he was younger, I think there's also an element of fear there as well. Like, his mother just instilled an innate fear of breaking rules because bad things would happen if he didn't follow them exactly. I really do see Riddle as a scared little boy who is suddenly realizing that he was set up for failure by his own mother. And THEN he makes an honest effort to improve himself post-overblot?? His transformation after the fact is one of the more obvious ones and I'm just so proud of him. A THOUSAND HEAD PATS!! Okay, I'll stop rambling about him lmao I love Riddle sm (Also want to make clear I'm not saying Riddle was right for anything he did, only that I appreciate how his character was handled. Added for legal purposes so people don't come after me :c ) 2. Vil Schoenheit - This one comes as no surprise to me. Pretty boys who challenge gender stereotypes are RIGHT up my alley. Like Riddle, I think Vil has some great character writing is one of the more complex characters in the game. He just feels so compassionate to me?? I don't know how to explain it - he just gives such nurturing vibes. I'd trust this man with my drink at a bar fr fr. And then he tells Epel off for saying ballet is too "girly" for him?? Thank you TWST for bringing me this man. I pray at the altar of Vil Schoenheit. 3. Malleus Draconia - Doesn't Malleus top everyone's lists LOL I think my favoritism for the dragon man is more to do with his relationship with Yuu than anything else tbh. He's like one of three characters that actively engages with the main character and I think they've got such a fun relationship. Two people who feel very alone in the world finding friendship (or something more for you malleyuu shippers) in each other is so beautiful. I'm glad they can be there for each other like that. Side note: I adore romantic Malleyuu for sure, but I think it's equally as endearing if all of Malleus's flirtatious lines were never meant to be romantic but he's just really bad at communicating his feelings in a platonic way. Like, he doesn't mean to flirt he's just socially inept. 4. Ruggie Bucchi - Gremlin hyena boy is just too good for words. Ngl, I started off not really liking Ruggie all that much because of what he did in the Savanaclaw book. My mans was basically shoving people down flights of stairs?? I'm not really sure where the turn around happened tbh. Mischievous personality types do tend to draw me in in fiction so that probably has a lot to do with it. I also felt really bad for him at the end of the Savanaclaw book when Leona was ready to Thanos him out of existence despite everything Ruggie had done for him (and continues to do for him). I appreciate his work ethic, I can respect the hustle, and he's got such a cute little laugh. I wanna pet those big ole ears of his. Leona - pay this man more smh 5. Kalim Al-Asim - SUNSHINE BOY!!

He's such a breath of fresh air in this game LMAO. As much as I love the fact that most of the cast are unapologetically flawed, it's nice to have a few characters that are genuinely good people. His VA (Kazuki Furuta) absolutely kills it imo. I can hear his laugh in my head as I'm typing this - it's just so warm and happy :D He also breaks the sterotype of most rich characters in media by just being a nice person? He's not evil or greedy (although naive and entitled) and he just wants to be bffs with Jamil. Break his heart Jamil and we're gonna have WORDS. Also just like FORGAVE JAMIL??? Sitting on the cold ground, the little hugged her knees close to her chest as she listened to the people happily chatting with one and another, completely obvious to the child left all alone again. Pushing herself up with the help of the wall, she peeked over the corner of her hiding place, hoping to find maybe a food vendor or a new shop that might've opened. Taking a step out, she reluctantly walked over to the bakery since there where no such things that she had hoped for, while silently begging that the owner would maybe allow her to get something this one time Peeking in through the large windows, she saw that there seemed to be a new person working there, making her eyes light up in hope. Yet all that hope went down the drain as she felt a hand grip her arm tightly. "What did I tell you about trying to steal from my shop. How many times do I need to kick you out for you to understand that you. aren't. getting, Anything" The owner hissed, his tone full of venom as he glared at the small girl, making her winch as turned her head away. The man clearly didn't know of her situation as if he did, he may have been nicer- or not. Dragging her harshly through the streets, he turned a corner, appearing in a rather messy alleyway, pieces of glass and cardboard littering the floor, as he tossed her down harshly onto the dirty floor, causing pieces of glass to cut her skin. "If you ever come back again to my shop, I wont hesitate to call the police on you like I should've done awhile ago" The man hissed before walking away Alkni attempted to push herself up, her hands trembling as they got nicked on the small shards of glass, making her let out quiet yelps. As the extremely small childs stomach let out a rumble, she sat against the wall of a building, tears filling her eyes as she let out a quiet sob while she wrapped her arms around her stomach in a attempt to quiet the rumbling. After sitting there for longer then she thought, she felt drops of rain hit against her pale skin, making her flinch as she snapped out of her zombie like trance. Alkni let out a quiet yawn as she looked up to the sky as the rain rewet her dried tears Gathering pieces of cardboard she attempted to form them into the shape of a bed, just wanting to go to sleep and wake up from the nightmare she was forced to live in, even if it was impossible

Alkni was sat on the counter, swinging her legs back and forth as she slowly chewed on her lollipop that Sam had given her. Sam stared at the little girl, as he thought about what his friends from the other side had told him about her, and what she had gone through. Walking over to her, he bent down to meet her eye to eye, as he gave her a warm smile in a attempt to comfort her.

"Do you see anything that you would like little imp, " Sam asked Alkni with a warm smile as he gently rubbed her head "I'm sure you will be able to find something you like!" He continued as he gestured around the store.

Alkni looked at him surprised for a moment as if she was asking as if he was serious, making the shop owner let out a chuckle as he nodded "Whatever you want" Sam confirmed as he picked her up, before setting her on the floor

As Alkni was looking through the store, albeit wearily, Sam went over to the three Octavinelle students, using the fact that she was focused on something else to explain to the three boys about what had happened to her

As Sam was finishing up speaking with Azul, Jade, and Floyd, he felt a small tug at his pants leg, and upon looking down, he saw Alkni holding a bread shaped stuffed animal, Alkni thinking that it was actual food instead of a toy. i like the show A LOT. idk how to say this but the show feels like a place to me to vent? like i understand what those characters were feeling because i also had gone pretty much the same thing (maybe not 100% the same but kinda similar). and oh my god the characters dude. THE CHARACTERS. im in love with corruption trope, like im obsessed. you see, fakhri was playing a hero at first, but then slowly acted like kahar. isn't it ironic that he became something that he hate before? talking about kahar, im really curious about his backstory! thank god there will be a movie about him (IM FUCKING EXCITED). ayam is a mood, i love every time he appeared on the screen. okay this is getting long lol im so sorry. anyways, i was expecting a sad ending due to the show being so depressing (i thought naim was gonna die wtf pls dont do that again) but im glad that we got a happy ending! (im a sucker for happy ending lmao) overall, i really like the writing, it's really well done. the pacing is perfect, good casts. i don't really watch a lot of Malay dramas so i cant really compare. but PHC is one of my top series now hehe. though im not sure if everyone knows this but this show might seem a bit unrealistic cuz the higher ups being involved and like there were a lot of things going on, it's actually real. it happened and is happening right now. hell, even in the public university, they still apply this high council shit.

if the producers decide to air the show globally, it could reach some international audience. maybe not a lot, but im pretty sure some people will be more invested.

i don't remember which ep, but it was the one where kahar accidentally pushed (or kicked? im not sure) ayam and led to ayam be in a coma. they did show kahar got traumatised by that but not enough for me lol. so yea, i imagine kahar doesnt dare to look himself in the mirror because he almost killed someone. yea sure, he bullied a lot of people, misusing his power, but he was never a killer. he still has that humanity in him.

and i also imagine him having a rough childhood due to how his dad treated him. you know, constantly being compared to his brothers, thats not very nice. so kahar just swallowed the hate to idk make himself felt full? my headcanons are pretty weird i apologise

First off, I really do like how they handled Ada in the remakes, even if she's not exactly a good person. Maybe it's just her character design, but she's got a special place in my heart.

Helena Harper was way too interesting for them to only have her in one game. Seriously? What the hell Capcom? Anyway, she's great. I love her.

The entire Dimitrescu's family is so cool, but my favorite's definitely Lady D. I know a lot of people like her for uh...certain reasons, but I like her purely for the fact that she's still so sweet in her own twisted way! She's such a mom, and a pretty decent one at that. Giant motherly figure in a video game? Yeah, you know I'm gonna like her.

The entire Winters family is interesting to me, but especially Mia given that she's one of the few characters who isn't a scientist, or a cop. That and how contradictory she is with her family with anyone else is really understandable. As someone who's trying to make up for the things she's done, she feels human in that aspect. Plus, her and Ethan's story is just amazingly well done. So sad, but still great.

Now as for the b o y s:

I love this sad cop man it's not even funny. I mean, he's Leon. What more can I say? The way his PTSD is handeled in the games, his interactions with everyone else, and his backstory are just a few of the things I love about him. One of the only detectives I respect lmao. But yes, he's up there in my favorites, if not the top 3. I love this sad emo boy.

And finally,

The man, the myth, the legend, Luis Serra Nevarro. I..love this man so much. His design is great, his dynamic with Leon is amazing (the bromance of all time, he had more chemistry with him than most anyone else, let me tell ya), and he's just such a likeable character! Even when he's kind of an ass at times. He wants to be a better person and he's just the perfect amount of "I could care less whether you fell of a cliff and died" and "NOT on my watch. NOT. ON. MY. WATCH." He's also genuinely funny, and that's something I hold in a very high regard. So yeah, he's one of my faves.

I really love so many characters in both the original and Evil Dead series, so it's hard for me to pick just one or two favorites. But, these are the ones that have always been, and most like always will be in that category. Thanks for asking me! I had a ton of fun and I love hearing other people talk about this game 〔´∇｀〕

solo talks about cbs elementary part 1

okay so yesterday I made post wondering if anyone would be interesting in hearing my cbs elementary thoughts. in the tags of that post I threatened said that one note was all it took to make this (a fleshed out series? of posts detailing pretty much everything I've ever thought about this show) happen, and for better or worse, I got that note, so instead of studying for one of my two midterms I have next week, I started this!

I am currently in the first half of season 4 but I started recording my thoughts from the very beginning. unfortunately they are very disorganized, so at least until I get to where I am currently watching I think I'm going to group these by multiple episodes. This section covers about the first half of season one

Since I've watched past the episodes I'll be talking about at first, I thought I would also add commentary if I have any hindsight to add to any of them. Any future knowledge commentary will prefaced as such.

the good:

Holmes getting weird with his investigating (i.e. sniffing the walls, crawling around on the floor, licking things, etc.). It is very important to me that Holmes is, at the end of the day, a weird little guy

bitchy Holmes! Also very important to me! This also ties in with Holmes having emotions, but basically I just want Holmes to be written like the drama queen he is. (future solo thought: Elementary and JLM consistently do a good job of portraying him as such)

Avoidance of both teh stupid Watson and angry Watson trope. At this point, that's perfection

Holmes hates rich people! (future solo thought: I did not realize just how much copaganda there is in this how. it's very difficult to portray some of his more left-leaning ideals in shows like this, so I'm honestly glad for whatever scraps we can get)

I think Holmes having tattoos is a good call for a modernized version of him

crediting Watson with helping even when she hasn't done anything — this is something ACD!Holmes does as well and I think it's really funny (of course we know that Watson actually does help, just not always in obvious ways — sometimes even she's confused when Holmes thanks her, it's just funny the way he does this because he very rarely elaborates)

Encouraging Watson to make her own deductions (future solo thought: at this point in my watching this I didn't realize they were going to make Watson a detective in her own right, so this goes double now)

Telling Watson that she's necessary to his process fairly early into their relationship — we love codependent besties <3

Watson as a puzzle — not everyone likes this read of their relationship, but personally I love it

"WATSON!!!" — when Holmes yells her name like this I cannot help but be reminded of Jeremy Brett which can only do good things for my opinion of JLM's version

Holmes having daddy issues is always fun to explore, not mad at all if they decide to do more with this (future solo thought: I was very correct in this lmao)

Holmes just 🧍‍♂️-ing next to Watson's bed to wake her up occasionally. Again, reminds me of Brett, and it's objectively funny

"My dear Watson," I love this sentiment in the books when Holmes was saying this every other sentence, so seeing him say that at a time where it's not as common. It means a lot. To me.

The reworking of Watson's backstory — not all of this is bad, in fact some of it was necessary to distinguish Joan as her own character, but I do resent how Watson's tragic backstory in this meant that her doctor title is not used, and I feel like taking away Watson's injuries was missed opportunity as well

no live-in Mrs. Hudson = Watson getting relegated to house keeper duties, something that character does not do in the books. wonder what the difference is here? (future solo thought: this was a bigger issue in season one, I think. as far as I can tell, there seems to be a more even sharing of household chores as their relationship develops more, but my point for early season one stands)

Copaganda. It's lame and not in line with Holmes' characterization if you think about it for more than two seconds. It took me a lil but here my promised questions for like comment romance:

1) While reading i was wondering indeed about Izukus "skillsets" ehem👀 like we know he had a previous relationship and theres some air of speculation around him and shouto cosplayers, in stark contrast to his future vision of barely getting to hold his so's hand... i did ask myself quite a bit about izukus innocence haha

2) do you have headcanons or perhaps a whole fic in mind of wedding shenanigans or the disaster of shinkami getting together?

3) Who throws Todoroki a hangover-eske bachelor party and why is it ochako?

4) was soba ever possessive of his catdaddy giving all his attention away? And how did banjo and kazooie warm up to their stepmom?

The first question made me laugh out loud. His skillsets. 😂 But okay! Let me tackle these one at a time! Sorry in advance, but I'll probably babble.

1. So. Izuku's skillsets are probably pretty average, lmao. Shouto was very smitten, though, that first time, so Ochako assumed he was some sort of sex god. But Shouto is only the second person Izuku has ever slept with, and the first guy, so it's not like he has a ton of experience. Concerning the Shouto cosplayers, he really did just take pictures with them and go on his merry way. They were probably very disappointed. ^^; He's a romantic, though, and I can't see him sleeping with someone casually. All that being said, despite his limited experience (he and his ex weren't together long), I imagine he is very veeery attentive and giving. With his first relationship, she and Izuku were each other's firsts. They met in college. She broke up with him after being pressured to by her friends, who thought she could do better than a quirkless guy who was also shorter than her. She had a hard time finding dates because of her height (fun fact: she was on the school's basketball team!). After they broke up, she quickly regretted her decision once she tried dating other guys. I imagine she had a weight in her stomach, telling her she messed up, but she tried to ignore it. I think she'll eventually meet other nice guys, but she'll never have a lover as attentive and caring as Izuku was in bed, lol. She learned to be more careful about taking unsolicited advice. For Shouto, this is perfect. His entire life, he craved love and affection, and now he has this person who absolutely showers him with both. Izuku is shy and nervous, so the fact that he gives so much of himself in bed, when he's arguably most vulnerable, is very important to Shouto. Unlike Izuku's ex, Shouto 100% understands what he has and doesn't take it for granted. I can't say I've thought of the *specifics* of their activities, but if I was going to assign them a kink, I'd probably say they both have their worship kink moments.

2. Lots of people requested a Shinkami sequel! I actually have no ideas. OTL I started writing a how-Hitoshi-and-Izuku-met prequel, actually, which probably very few people would have been interested in. I guess that's easier, because I had thought of their backstory already (I'm saying easy, but I only wrote three chapters before I stopped, so...). But as for Shinkami, I can't say I have many ideas as to how it would happen. I'm not even certain of POV. Hitoshi seems the obvious choice, to me, but Ochako's POV might be funnier. I briefly toyed with the idea of writing a wedding oneshot, for Izuku and Shouto. If I did, it would be in Bakugou's POV. So a very grumpy wedding! I did their wedding in my other fic, The Cupid Quirk, though, so for L, C, & R, I decided to just do the proposal. I didn't want to seem like I was writing the same thing, especially since the wedding in The Cupid Quirk is also told from an unconventional character's POV. The tone of L, C, & R is comedical, though, and part of me feels a Bakugou oneshot would be a little melancholy, since his feelings are so complex. At the end, Kirishima would drag him to the dance floor, though, and Bakugou would feel a little at peace with things. ShinKami would already be together at this point, but he and Kiri wouldn't, so Ochako and Kiri would still be roommates.

3. Lmao!!! Realistically, I think Yaoyorozu would stop her, since bachelor party duties would fall to her. Ochako would probably employ hijinks thoughout the night, though. Yaomomo plans for a nice restaurant, and Ochako gives the driver the address to a club. That sort of thing. And naturally something goes wrong—a wrong address maybe—and they get lost and in trouble. When Shouto finally returns home, he finds out for Izuku's bachelor party, Hitoshi took him to an arcade, then Denny's, and then finally took him home and they cooked an entire bag of tater tots, put them in a popcorn bowl, and watched a movie. Shouto is so exhausted and jealous, he buries himself in Izuku's chest and makes him hold him all night, lol.

4. I don't think Soba would be jealous! In my mind, most cats naturally like Izuku for one reason or another. He's very respectful of boundaries, due to his own bad experiences, and that applies to cats too. I think cats naturally feel very safe with him, Soba included. His chest is also a nice pillow. It probably does help though that Izuku likes to sleep on Shouto's right and Soba on the left. Izuku is also gullible, so Soba appreciates that he can sometimes trick him into giving him a second dinner after Shouto already fed him. Eventually they buy one of those "cat has been fed" boards.

As for Banjo and Kazooie, Ochako has a much harder time! It's not that they dislike her, but they miss Izuku, so there's a long sulking period. She feels like they're always disappointed to see her, because when she puts her key in the door, they think it's Izuku. Unlike Izuku, I don't think she's a natural with cats, but she won their affection eventually. It took a lot of treats, lol.

More About Vir; Lani is often described as overwhelming to strangers. They don't tone any part of their personality down, ever. Vir loud, outgoing and loves meeting new people; textbook extrovert. They'll be the first to greet someone walking into a room and try to make someone comfortable. Ve talks fast and only gets faster when ve gets excited... which is often. They often accidentally volunteer their friends for things they definitely didn't sign up for. Ve realizes it quickly and will either backtrack it or take over for whoever they volunteered.

Ve has a habit of not thinking before doing something and often gets in some kind of trouble because of it. Ve's surprisingly a bit of a pushover; they're overly willing to help out and is very willing to do something for someone if they're lead to believe the person can't do it for whatever reason.

Ve's gained a love of nature from Yijun, but it's evolved into a love of travel. Ve wants to travel everywhere they can and honestly fears settling down someday. They collect little souvenirs from every place they go, but they're a little weird; a pinecone from a forest in Y City, a broken thing they found in Z City. And shiny things. Vir kind of like a crow. Sometimes they'll use the random knick-knacks they've collected to make necklaces and bracelets.

Lani has a certain chaotic energy. Everything ve does has at least a hint of this and it almost makes up their foundation. And ve embraces this chaos. Ve loves fast paced things and get very fidgety when they have to slow down. That's not to say that they won't; ve tries to go slow for vir friends and loved ones. It doesn't always work out, but ve'll try vir damnedest so they aren't alone.

Ve has a habit of accidentally talking over people. ("HEY GUYS DID I TELL-- Oh wait fuck, shit, no keep saying whatever you were saying, I'm sorry!!")

HATES silence. If it gets too quiet they'll tap their foot loudly, hum a song or start a conversation. Usually has headphones so ve can listen to music if it gets too quiet for them.

Like the other two, Lani is one of my regular ocs. Vir backstory is the same as Yijun's; the two met when they were 8. They met Storm in high school and started a band after that. Lani is the bassist and backup vocalist. Ve can play keyboard, too.

-mary kim; she has a muscular figure with a lil tummy ! naturally started losing weight and building muscle while doing judo as a sport and exercising in general. she's still a little sensitive about her weight due to bullying when she was younger and at a larger size, but shes happy where she is now. she'll beat ur ass if u shit talk her weight but if u do it behind her back, vin jin will step in if he catches u ^_^

-jay; hes selectively mute, it formed mainly from his social anxiety but also because he's naturally an introvert and was neglected during his developing childhood stages, so that snowballed into selective mutism ! -warren; has a blackhole stomach. everyone in hostel is wary about wasted food bc theyre,, not very well off to say the least so anything they dont like/cant finish they give to warren and he happily chows down ^_^ also yeah hes not very picky about what he eats !!

-vin jin; the easiest way to tell he's embarrassed is when his ears go red. (jace, too... for obvious reasons) its hard to catch him blush under his shades sometimes! this may or may not also be the reason he grew out his hair ^_^

-taehun is a child magnet. you'd think he'd scare off kids but nope they all wanna play with him. and he acts like he hates this fact yet he always plays with the kids or at least entertains them a little (when hes not busy). altho he does hate this fact; babies are always staring at him (yknow that one science study or whatever that said babies stare at pretty people? yeah.)
