thinking so much about the elmntl world i made. the only cishet couple i had about until like.... 5 years ago was leo (fire) and clara (water)... well. theyre now bi4bi and t4t. but. like, in the first "season", as in me trying to make the arcs as polished as possible with a 3-season structure, theyre both assumed cis. and then leo grabs a Very Powerful Gem and gets taken over by a very powerful fire spirit (or maybe its a spirit that amplifies his power?) and uh. it changes him.
basically leo figures out shes transfem/bigender (he/she) with a fire spirit in his body and clara (she/they/he) figures out theyre nonbinary/transmasc through yknow. normal means. he's figuring himself out while leo battles with the fact that the fire spirit in the gem she stuck into her body was feminine. so that may have effected his gender. (it didnt, it just made her realize a bit sooner than later, but yknow. gender angst is fun when its on an oc <3)
so theyre biT4biT... bi4bi + t4t ?? theyre lesbians but also gay but also a stright-passing couple. theyre both so in love with the other that gender is a bonus rather than a requirement
does this make sense???? i feel like it doesnt but that may be my tired brain hating any idea it comes across. again, this isnt set in stone but. yknow.
#YES they still keep their names. mostly cuz i havent figured out if i want them to have multiple names or not. it may be confusing#elmntl-verse#elmntl leo#elmntl clara

Dear Mela, you’re wrong about She-Ra.
To Mela @themelaexperiencewriting
You’re wrong.
She-Ra isn’t “boring, disappointing, shallow, queerbaiting garbage” nor is ND Stevenson a “TERF” or “exclusionist. He’s non-binary, queer and transmasc who based She-Ra on his own experiences as member of the LGBTQ+ community. I mean, what planet are you living on!? She-Ra is, along with Steven Universe, the most lgtbq+ positive show this generation. Bursting with ground-breaking diversity and representation.
Double-Trouble is not a harmful stereotype but a fun, witty, intelligent character; Entrapta is an asexual character on the spectrum; Netossa and Spinerella are a married lesbian couple, Scorpina is a lesbian with two mothers; Perfuma is a trans woman; Bow has two dads; Catra and Adora have always loved each-other! It was their indoctrination as child soldiers and powers beyond their control that forced them to turn against one another. Only by deifying their assumed roles and fully embracing each other do they literally save the world with their love.
Sorry it didn't meet your stupidly high-standards.
Also, "flat, lifeless writing and animation?" The animation was fine, beautiful even (when the budget was raised). The writing was just hands-down brilliant. Stop using Avatar: The Last Airbender as the end-all-be-all yardstick of animation. Nothing can ever be ATLA, especially when you consider shows like She-Ra, Steven Universe, The Owl House and others didn’t even have it’s budget yet they’re still brilliant on their merits. Which reminds me:
ATLA was made by cishet white guys borrowing from Asian culture with little to no queer rep yet you give it a flying pass. She-Ra is a series bursting with diversity yet it’s somehow "Mein Kampf-meets-The Room" because it wasn't "woke" or "queer" enough?"
You talk about the show having a set of bigoted, homophobic, transphobic and queerphobic “fans”. Hate to break it to you but TERFs and queerphobes HATE She-Ra! You’re either lying or exaggerating.
There's no pleasing you, is there? No matter how hard ND Stevenson, Rebecca Sugar and Dana Terrace fought for you, it's always "problematic garbo" because it's "never good enough." I also remember the way you trashed Sina Grace and Jeremy Whitley. You’re wrong about them too. They are not “bad writers” nor is the character of Nadia Whitley's “bad OC”. They’re great writers who’s works are filled diversity, positivity, and Nadia’s a wonderful, well-written, blubbery character who’s driven by her love of science as well as her friends and family. Her struggle with Bipolar Disorder and mental health was believable as Whitley had actual mental health experts to consult him. And I saw this:
No. No. NO! Jeremy Whitley’s NOT, NEVER HAS BEEN, NEVER WILL BE “a grooming creep!” You want bring REAL “grooming creeps” to justice? Roman Polanski and Woody Allen are right there! But no, you unjustly smear Whitley not only because he’s a soft-target but also because of a long personal grudge you’ve held against him as a person, way before you hate-skimmed any of his works. In fact, the only real reason you ever go after LGBTQ+/BIPOC creators like Whitley, Grace, Stevenson, Sugar, Terrace is because of some petty personal grudges against them. Why? They never hurt you. They never even picked a fight with you!
You (mostly) give media (animation, video games, comics, ect) made cishet white guys and/or Japanese teams that have little to no (or even worse) LGBTQ+ representation a pass yet when these talented minority creators make masterpieces bursting with diversity and inclusion, it’s always “predatory” , “queerbating”, “TERF bait”, “exclusionary”, “neo-liberal garbage”, ect.
Mela, I see you for what you truly are: A closeted, reactionary bigot cosplaying as a woke progressive. Your internalized misogyny and queerphobia isn’t just showing, it’s dancing on stage for the whole world to see!
Give my regards to Lily Orchard. You deserve each other. But before you come at me claiming Lily is “the greatest trans/LGBTQ+ creator of all time”, just know that she:
1) Physically, emotionally and sexually abused-and still abuses-friends and family. 2) Lied about having Indigenous heritage. 3) Wants to control what kids watch and has called for The Hays Code to return. 4) Sends death threats to creators. 5) Has called Rebecca Sugar-a non-binary, bisexual, Jewish woman descended from Holocaust survivors-a “fascist sympathizer” and “Nazi apologist”.
Once again, this is who she truly is:
Tell her I said hi.

Happy Pride, most of my OCs are at least one letter in the LGBT acronym
That's Maiya with Casey, both bi
Casey with Mason, who's trans
Luna, Maiya's friend, who is trans and bi (fun fact: she's a drag queen and is starting out in standup comedy)
Maiya with Hiro, who is gay
Maiya, Hiro, and Luna are also friends with a lesbian couple named Ophelia and Yukiko, who are nonbinary and trans, respectively. I just don't have any commissioned art of them. I did make them in a doll maker, but I don't have those pics saved on my phone.
Oh, and there's also Casey's gay dads.
These guys aren't the only OCs I've created in my life, but the characters I created before I graduated high school were all cishet (and monogamous) because I was raised on a diet of intolerance before I started thinking for myself! They all still mean a lot to me, but they represent a different time in my life.
#i did start asking myself 'what if some of these guys were bi and polyamorous? 🤔' in my final year of high school#but then i moved onto another story and started creating new characters starting with maiya#my oc#maiya#casey#luna#mason
