Che Guevara is often celebrated as a symbol of rebellion and revolution, infamously known for being Castro’s right-hand man in the Cuban Revolution. While his image adorns countless articles of clothing, few understand the true nature of this infamous guerilla fighter. Despite his iconic status, Guevara's history reveals a troubling pattern of homophobia, racism, and violence, a much darker reality than what appears on the surface.

Ernesto Guevara (1928-1967) was an Argentine revolutionary, guerrilla theoretician, and the trusted adviser of Cuban premier Fidel Castro .The life of the man whose visage has become an iconic symbol of hard left politics. Its a good documentary in the fact that it brings to light other people in the revolution, and it has this kind of new way of presenting the Che Guevara

RIP #cuban leader #FidelCastro. In the late #50s he successfully organized and led an uprising against corrupt leader #fulgenciobatista and overthrew the regime. Batista had been a puppet of American business and mafia elites; Castro had left leaning ideas which alarmed the US government and they attempted a CIA sponsored coup at the #bayofpigs in 1961 using Cuban exiles which failed spectacularly. This led Cuba to seek protection from the #sovietunion and resulted in the #cubanmissilecrisis in 1963, a near nuclear exchange regarded as the peak of the #coldwar. After that the US sought to isolate and undermine Castro with an embargo and covert sabotage but he outlasted 9 American presidents until #barackobama finally abandoned this policy. Like many revolutionaries who gain power his leadership quickly devolved into reactionary dictatorship and the loss of Russian aid in the 90s exposed the failings of socialism in Cuba but he remained beloved by Cubans for freeing them from Yankee imperialism. #history
