Che Guevara (1928–1967) was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, and key figure in the Cuban Revolution. Born Ernesto Guevara, he became known as "Che," a nickname that reflects his Argentine roots. After traveling across Latin America and witnessing widespread poverty and injustice, Guevara became a committed revolutionary. He joined Fidel Castro's 26th of July Movement, playing a significant role in overthrowing Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista in 1959.
Guevara's image, characterized by his beret and intense gaze, became a global symbol of rebellion and anti-imperialism. After the Cuban Revolution, he held various governmental roles in Cuba but later left to spread revolution in other parts of the world, including the Congo and Bolivia. Guevara was captured and executed by the Bolivian army in 1967, but his legacy endures as an icon of revolutionary struggle and socialist ideals. MY HERO

'CAPITALISM LOOTED THE WORLD'
What would the world look like if everyone in Africa, Latin America and China got cars? Former Cuba leader Fidel Castro lamented this question thirty years ago. And he feared our hyper-consumerist lifestyle would end up destroying the planet.
Well, if he was worried then, he’d be more than alarmed if alive today. There are now 1.4-billion cars driving around our Earth, all using up vital resources and spewing pollution.
In this clip Castro blames capitalism and the consequent rat race. He says we’ve got our priorities wrong. Is he bang on?

FİDEL CASTRO VE 2 ADET ROLEX
Ağzında pürosu, kolunda 2 adet Rolex marka saatiyle Fidel Castro...
Fotoğraf 1963 yılında Castro'nun Moskova ziyareti sırasında Kremlin Sarayı'nda çekiliyor. Castro'nun hemen karşısında oturan kişi Sovyetler Birliği kominist partisi ilk sekreteri Nikita Kruşçev.
Arka tarafta duvarda Karl Marx resmi bulunuyor.

Cuba would not be Cuba, if it were not for it’s own son, Fidel Castro, and surrogate son, Che Guevara. Castro, a Cuban lawyer, and firm believer in Marxists and Communistic values, was not only one of the longest-serving heads of state, but one of few to stand strong against the US. He successfully overthrew Cuban dictator, Fulgencio Batista, during the Cuban Revolution, bringing egalitarian principles to Cuba : 🇨🇺 Reinstating the Cuban constitution 🇨🇺 Reforming rights to land ownership 🇺 Allowing sugar workers the right to receive about 55% of company profits Interestingly enough, his revolutionary ideals, did not just stop in Cuba. He believed in spreading revolution in many countries - going as far as Africa and even the Middle East. Yet, he wasn’t alone. A powerful Marxist revolutionary himself, and the brainchild behind a well known manual on guerrilla warfare, Che Guevara is slated in Cuban history. He not only helped Castro wage the Cuban Revolution…but, successfully win. An Argentinian physician by trade, Guevara had traveled far and wide from Central and South America to Africa, helping oppressed civilians revolt against repressive governments. If there was ever a face synonymous to revolution and civil liberties, it would be Che. …………………………… Castro was famed for a speech entitled “History Will Absolve Me.” Rest assured, he was right. To hear people I’ve met in various places across the world speak of both him and Che, shows the exact imprint they left in history. ❤️🇨🇺 ➡️ Know before you go! #beyondeden🌺 . . . . . #FidelCastro #Che #Fidel #CheGuevara #Cuba #history #Revolution #travelCuba #Cubalove #visitcuba #Cubalibre #passionpassport #mytinyatlas #travel #thattravelblog #newyorktravelblogger #NYtimestravel #postcardplaces #ladiesgoneglobal #bucketlist #ilovetravel #travelguide #livetotravel #worldtravelpics #roundtheworld #travelforlife #sistersandsuitcases #visiting (at Havana, Cuba) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqLgrSTO-5B/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

FIDEL CASTRO: MAN OF THE MASSES IN AFRICA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the 1970s and 80s, Fidel Castro sent 350,000 Cuban soldiers, civilians and doctors to support the African liberation struggle, especially in Angola 🇦🇴 , Namibia, Mozambique 🇲🇿 , Guinea Bissau , Cape Verde 🇨🇻 , and Sao Tome and Principal 🇸🇹 . The Cuban effort eventually hastened the demise of apartheid in South Africa. More than 3,000 Cubans died fighting for Africa.
After the Cuban and their Angolan, Namibian and ANC allies decisively defeated the then feared South African defence forces in Angola, it brought independence not only to Angola and Namibia, but also accelerated the death of apartheid itself in South Africa.
About 600 Cuban soldiers, including 70 doctors, went to Guinea Bissau to help the African guerrillas for 10 years before “independence” from the Portuguese came in 1974. Cuba fought in Ethiopia on the side of Colonel Mengistu Haile Miriam’s troops in the Ogaden campaign in 1978 against an invasion by Somalia. In 1965, Cuba sent the legendary Che Guevara and fighters to Kibamba, near Fizi, in DRCongo’s province of South Kivu, to help the supporters of Patrice Lumumba.
Then came Mozambique and Angola where the biggest Cuban action in Africa was staged against apartheid South African troops backed by America and its Western allies. Castro takes up the story in his memoirs: “ While Cuba was in Angola, and Angola was being invaded by South Africa, the USA made arrangements to transfer to South Africa–racist, fascist South Africa–several atomic bombs, similar to those it exploded in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”
