Trivia (canon):

Daichi and Kuroo are the youngest 3rd years in the series.

Bokuto did set off the fire alarm in their school for the same reason he said in the chat.

Trivia (non-canon):

The other captains take any opening to tease Kuroo because he's the youngest and he should be on the receiving end of the teasing, not the other way around which happens more often.

Kuroo did not forget about the fire alarm fiasco and scolded Bokuto about it the next time they met in person. The entire Fukurōdani team found it extremely satisfying to watch.

Daichi was fully intent on teasing Kuroo about his bromance with Bokuto until he got to the training camp and saw how ridiculously close the two are that it's not even something he can joke about to which Asahi points out that he's the same with Suga but quickly apolologizes when both guys stare at him.

Bokuto calls Kuroo's older sister "nee-chan" as if he's really her younger brother. Kuroo does the same to Bokuto's older sisters.

Kuroo always invites Bokuto over when they're having Yakiniku or Sukiyaki. Kuroo's grandma plays favorites during these times and gives Bokuto all the meat. Kuroo makes sure he eats vegetables though.

AN: Why did I write headcanons on an extra chapter? I don't know either. I can't help it. I just love BoKuroo's bromance so much!

I'm pretty sure academy implies private school in Japan. Shiratorizawa Academy is 'shiratorizawa gakuen kōkō' (白鳥沢学園高校) and Fukurodani Academy is 'fukurōdani gakuen kōkō' (梟谷学園高校). Gakuen (学園) is academy, kōkō (高校) is high school, so it's actually 'academy high school' but that sounds weird in English. As someone mentioned below, Aoba Jōsai is also private, 'shiritsu aoba jōsai kōkō' (私立青葉城西高校). Shiritsu (私立) means private.

As for Karasuno, Date Tech, and Nekoma, they're all public schools. Karasuno is 'kenritsu karasuno kōkō' (県立烏野高校). We've already covered that 'kōkō' means high school. 'Kenritsu' (県立) means prefectural so it's run by Miyagi prefecture, which means it's public. Date Tech is the same, 'kenritsu date kōgyō kōkō' (県立伊達工業高校), kōgyō meaning industrial/technical. And last but not least, Nekoma is 'toritsu nekoma kōtō gakkō' (都立音駒高等学校). Toritsu (都立) means metropolitan/municipal, meaning that it's run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, making it public. Kōtō gakkō(高等学校) means senior high school.

Okay, so imagine Tsukishima having to need a pet sitter for his adorable little red corn snake while he and his family will be going on their annual family vacation, and usually he’d ask Yamaguchi to pet-sit, but guess what!! Yamaguchi is joining Kei’s trip this year, so Tsukishima has to find a replacement while he’s away for a couple of days.

Tsukishima’s next best option would be to ask either Daichi or Suga, since they’re ya know, responsible, (Asahi had blacked out a bit when Tsukishima told him exactly what he’d be feeding the snake) but they had prior agreements and weren’t available that week.

Tsukishima had even asked Ennoshita, but he too was busy that week wrapping up a film he had been working on. Both Narita and Kinoshita also weren’t available that week since both of them were on set helping out Ennoshita with the final scenes.

Ennoshita then suggested Tsukishima to ask either Tanaka or Noya (since they are, by default not by choice, the next unfortunate choices next-in-line) but just the thought of those two in a room with his precious pet were giving him heart palpations. Just no. 

Same thought and emotions were going through Tsukishima when Yamaguchi suggested either Kuroo or Bokuto since, “you have their numbers, so why not? And since they’re adults - technically and it’s only for a couple of days? What’s the worst that could happen?” Tsukishima had to sit down for a second for that one. Who knows what Tsukishima would come home to. After his interaction with them during the Training Camp, he certainly did not want them in his house, especially in his room.

Akaashi was the next best option, but Tsukishima didn’t want to burden Akaashi to travel almost 2 hours daily.*

Yachi unfortunately couldn’t pet-sit either only because she was just too nervous in case something went wrong! Despite Yamaguchi’s reassurance that she’d only be feeding Tsukishima’s snake twice out of the week, and only be changing the water and checking the temperature and the humidity, Yachi still felt that she’d rather have someone experienced watching over the animals just in case. 

The last two people left to ask were Kageyama and Hinata and while Tsukishima did trust those two (to an extent lmfao) he wasn’t too sure if they’d be comfortable to pet-sit a snake for a couple of days. It might have been easier to convince them if Tsukishima was asking either of them to pet-sit a more common household pet (ex: cat, dog, fish, etch) but to his surprise, Hinata was oddly super excited and okay with pet-sitting his snake.

Hinata was practically bouncing off the walls when Tsukishima revealed that in fact, it was a snake that needed care while he was away. “Ooh! You have a pet snake! That’s so cool! I always wanted one but my little sister is scared of them!”

Kageyama had been silent and when Yamaguchi had asked him what was wrong, Kageyama shyly asked if he would be allowed to come over and see the snake since he too was fascinated.

Tsukishima doesn’t mind as long as long as they both make sure his snake is well fed that week and well cared for. He invites them both over that night so he can go over exactly what needs to be done and to teach them how to carefully handle a snake.

Both Hinata and Kageyama are fascinated when they walk into Tsukishima’s room and notice a huge 50 gallon tank set up right across his bed. They both look at each other and wonder what kind of snake Tsukishima had that needed a 50 gal tank. Was it a python? Anaconda?!

Nope, Tsukishima gently pulls out a pale yellow corn snake, it’s tail happily wrapping around Tsukishima’s forearm and tongue flickering in and out.

Hinata can’t help but gasp in excitement at the snake. “He’s gorgeous!”

“She’s gorgeous.” Tsukishima corrects as he adjusts his arm so it lays flat for the snake’s sake. “Her name is Serpentas and she’s a corn snake.”

“A Snow corn snake actually!” Yamaguchi pipes, since he’s also well-versed in snake facts. “She’s only a year old and she’s still growing!”

Tsukishima notices Hinata and Kageyama eying the snake in interest and it shows on their faces. “If you want to hold her, you need to go wash your hands first.” 

Both Hinata and Kageyama rush out of his room at the same time, trying to hold back each other to reach the sink first.

When they both return, they’re still pushing each others’ shoulders to see who would hold the snake first. At this point Tsukishima just wants to sleep and he needs to pack, so he has them both reach out their palms so he can gently lay her on them.

Tsukishima gently coxes Serpentas to untangle herself from Tsukishima’s fingers who then slowly moves to rest on Hinata’s palm. When Tsukishima elevates his whole arm, the snake slowly slides to the next palm, which is Kageyama’s.

“She’s warm!” Hinata whispers as his eyes dance between the snake and Kageyama. “She feels so weird! It-it feels like the garden hose in my backyard! A warm garden hose!”

Tsukishima:

“A what now? Please don’t call my snake a garden hose.”

At this point the snake had curled it’s tail on Hinata’s thumb and it’s body on Kageyama’s pinky finger and was now just relaxing on their hands.

Yamaguchi snickered at how Serpentas had coiled herself through their fingers, locking them both together. “Aw she likes you!”

After a couple of minutes of holding Serpentas on their hands, Tsukishima decided it was enough and took her back to her enclosure. 

“Well, here’s an outline of exactly what to do, and what to feed her, etc. Text me if anything happens. And if something ever happens to her, it would be a shame if something happens to your precious volleyballs… Anyways, see you tomorrow at school.”

“SCARY!!”

*Karasuno High (Japanese: 烏野高校 Karasuno Kōkō) is a high school located in Miyagi Prefecture. Fukurōdani Academy (Japanese: 梟谷学園 Fukurōdani Gakuen) is a high school in the Kanto region. (Approx. 2-3 hours by train)

Hope this turned out fine!! I suck at naming pets (this is a girl that named her fish BEAN, so i apologize if “Serpentas” isn’t that original ! (Serpentes is the scientific name for snake) but I doubt Tsukishima would name his pets ‘noodle’ or something LMFAO

Edit: 15.4.21 Changed the pronouns to "you" but still clearly female reader. Added more info on Y/n's first training camp with the Fukurōdani Gakuen Group. And something about a bunny (I don't know if I can or should elaborate on this😏).

Upon reading the text, Bokuto shot up from his bed, eyes wide, mouth open and heart pounding furiously. He read the message again and then for a third time, a fourth, fifth and again.

Once he was certain he really read what he read, his mind went into an odd mix of panic, excitement and confusion.

He's never done this before. Is it really happening? Was he reading into it correctly? Akaashi did tell him that he sometimes didn’t know when to read a situation accurately.

Can I do you too?

But how else would anyone interpret that?

It came out of nowhere too! Like getting hit by a speeding vehicle. You weren't even flirting with him! No warning leading up to it whatsoever.

What should he say? He's never really done anything like this before. He also wasn’t expecting you to be this incredibly bold.

Has she always been like this?

The cats have always been protective of their manager. If they could barricade you with a fence, they might have already done that. He thought it was because they didn’t have one until that training camp in May of last year but now... he was wondering if it was something else entirely.

He remembered how Akaashi said both Bokuto and Kuroo were a lot more to handle than usual at the time. It was most likely due to the both having just been promoted as captains of their respective teams. Either way, even he can tell how much more energetic he was then.

Bokuto remembred how Kuroo was the one who introduced their new manager to them. How he thought you were such a cute little bunny, hiding behind Kuroo like that. Oh how he wanted to squish your cheeks back then.

You were such a nice girl too, helping him and Akaashi clean up the gym after his very long free practice that lasted until the cafeteria closed. You would even save food for them after you learned that Bokuto always stayed practicing that late.

In his eyes, you were both an angel and a cute bunny rabbit who could do no wrong. But now... maybe angel is not the best description for you.

However, the concept of you being a bunny rabbit suddenly turned into a different, darker, definitely sexier direction.

No, no, no, no. No! That's a dangerous bunny! That's a bunny that can get me killed! Bad bunny!

Then another thought popped into his head.

Does Akaashi know?

Have you always been this bold with Akaashi too? What about your team? Is this why they're so protective? Is this why someone from Nekoma was always by your side during breaks?

Akaashi's gonna kill me. Kuroo's gonna kill me. The entire Nekoma team is gonna kill me.

But…

How would they know? Who would tell?

But before that, maybe he should come up with a reply. Something that's not too explicit in case he's wrong. Test the waters, as they would say.

Bokuto clutched on to his chest where he knew his heart had just stopped functioning. When the image of you in a bunny costume entered his mind, he reached his boiling point and collapsed on his bed, mouth frothing and brain officially turned off for the night.
