the whole race system should be abolished.

It’s nothing but the paper bag test & I’m over it.

How can we be equal if the data says “white” or “black” and not “American”..

I’m really not sure how we can have equality when that is still a thing & people are so cool w/ it they’re proud to flaunt the system.

Forms just recently started putting other races besides black & white (except the census) & that shit is weird.

& whats even weirder... when you get to a form that asks if you’re hispanic or not Hispanic 🥴

Like fr.... what if it said “are you white or not white?”

& race probably does make a lot of sense when you look at data & can catagorize people & market better when you know the trends of each demographic but I believe there are so many factors that go into a persons thought process... you can’t box check it.

I seriously think you would need a personality & socioeconomic status quiz before even taking a basic survey that deals with anything decision or thought process based.

& then MAYBE take that data & begin grouping by race & then nationality & then ethnicity

Just because I’m poor & black doesn’t mean I fit the stereotype... vice versa.

The census says North Africans are “white”

So all of those chocolate Sudanese people out there.. when you get to America... you are white my King.

Somehow someone has tricked us into electronically & on paper.. participating in the paper bag test so that people who have been taught by their ancestors.. government.. teachers.. or whoever the idea that to be human is to be fare skinned can discriminate against people based on preconceived notions & assumptions of wrongly taught history.

The same girl or boy growing up in America(full citizenship) with parents from Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, or Egypt gets to read on a piece of paper that they are white but then has to go into society and learn that they’re black because race is not a geographic thing but a biological thing.

That’d weird as fuck.

Whoever started this shit was ignorant and hadn’t been to every country in Africa to properly discriminate, now there are discrepancies that make a mf like me stay up at 4/5am ranting about it on tumblr.

Imma still do what I can as someone who is not a political official to fight for equity & human decency amongst all of America’s citizens while being cognoscent of the fact that people are looking at me differently based on a system I don’t believe in.

But damn. Wake tf up people.

Every black person in America is not a descendent of a slave so when you want to break down a community with bullshit facts remember that while life may have the same origin, we were not made or built equal. You cannot compare me to my neighbor nor him to his neighbor. Our DNA different. Our Egun ain’t the same.

While my mothers family was fighting for freedom from slavery & turning rubble to bricks (literally, my mothers ancestor bought land for him & all his kids to build their own homes).. my fathers family was fighting poverty being passed off as white because that paper bag hits different when you’re not checking a box, but being looked at up and down by people who know nothing about you trying to figure out exactly what you are & you have yet to reap the befits of your whiteness because in your mind you remember when your land was taken and your ancestors had that long walk to the middle of no where. While one had the mindset of building & moving forward with people that looked like they did and respected them, the other was doing everything they could to look the part they had no idea how to play. Not knocking my ancestors.. because it may have taken a while but now myself and my cousins are here & striving for a bloodline that thrives in the face of oppression.

In conclusion, be careful what you teach your kids. Culture is everything.. but biology could get you killed. Strive to raise or teach the voice of culture, and not the voice of vanity. One generation could change it all.
