Cine: Descubriendo el amor (Fucking Åmål) (1998)

El cine del final del siglo XX nos deparó muchas sorpresas a la hora de abarcar a los adolescentes LGBTQ. Una de las más notables es esta aclamada producción sueca escrita y dirigida por Luka Moodisson en 1998 (sí, hace ya más de dos décadas).

Agnes (Rebecka Liljeberg) está enamorada en secreto de Elin (Alexandra Dahlström) y, naturalmente, desea que ese sentimiento sea recíproco. La próxima celebración de cumpleaños, supone, puede ser una buena ocasión para ver si tiene alguna oportunidad con ella, que en el colegio tiene fama de haber estado con todos los chicos del pueblito de Amal (todos menos Johan, que también busca su amor). 

Al principio la noche parece ir mal (Agnes, enfurecida, llega a maltratar a Viktoria, la primera invitada, lisiada, que va con un perfume de regalo). Pero Elin, que está tan cansada de los chicos que quiere probar una nueva opción, sí va a la fiesta, adonde descubre que Agnes gusta de ella. Y va a darle (y a darse) el gusto, iniciando un camino de autodescubrimiento que desafiará prejuicios propios y ajenos. 

Además de las actrices mencionadas, también integraron el elenco Mathias Rust como Johan Hulth, Josefine Nyberg en el rol de Viktoria, Erica Carlson como Jessica Olsson, hermana de Elin,  y Stefan Hörberg como el rubio Markus, ex de Elin.

Dato curioso 1: Liljeberg abandonó la actuación y ahora se dedica a la pediatría. Tiene tres hijos: el mayor, Teodor nació en 2002, lo que quiere decir que ya es un adolescente que tiene la edad de su madre cuando consiguió el papel. También es madre de Vera (nacida en 2005) y Kerstin (2009).

Dato curioso 2: Per Gessle, mundialmente famoso por formar parte del dúo Roxette, participó en la selección musical del filme. Gran elección.

Dato curioso 3: Este es muy triste. Stefan Hörberg falleció en 2010, a los 29 años; las razones de su muerte no fueron anunciadas.
