Ok I saw a post from @/relaxnotshaveeyebrows and I wanted to explained on my repost so I’ll do that here.

The post basically outlines Caitlyn and her becoming a dictator, and a Fascist

Its ok she’s all angry with grief, and I understand that she is heavily traumatized but she deals with it by buckling down and “claiming her power”, and people don’t realize that Cait “being a badass” is killing innocent Zaunites. Were reminded that she’s a Kiramman, but we’re also reminded that the enforcers and everyone who enables them has innocent blood staining their hands, and Her “being powerful” is causing her to step on the zaunites and crush them beneath her heel; using them as stepping stones her her power and influence in pilt over.

She has an increasingly violent distain and outright disgust, for the people of the undercity. She calls them animals, she immediately threatens and almost shoot Heemlot (the guy they rescued from the grey) despite him having information. She doesn’t care about the possibility of hurting a child, she almost shoots Vi, and when Vi pushes back even a little bit Caitlyn claims Vi is no different from the people in the undercity (she frames this as a terrible thing, an insult; despite Vi being from the undercity) and hits her before leaving her to rot. Not to mention the entire police brutality montage.

Yes, Caitlyn is traumatized and has been through a lot, but my question to Caitlyn defenders is this: How many little girls in Zaun have had their mothers killed as a direct result of Caitlyn’s tyranny? How many people have lost their loved ones, all while have to get up and struggle for a bite of food? How many Zaunites have been so hurt and decided not to kill Pilties on-mass like Caitlyn did? she has struggled, but struggle does not turn people into fascists, power and privilege do.

I’m not saying I hate her character, I love her writing, and she’s not all bad-because nobody is all bad, but the narrative (and common sense) clearly frames her actions as one’s not to support. She will get her redemption arc, I’m sure of it; but in the meanwhile, do not stand by and support your cancelled wife and her actions, guys. Your cancelled wife is busy being arcane hitler 😭

Full disclosure, I've only been reading danmei since May. Also, I only read official translations. Others may be able to give a wider range.

But since you asked so nicely, let's go!

1) Yuwu/Remnants of Filth

Obviously, my number 1 is going to be the danmei I spend 80% of my time here trying to convince people to read.

Yuwu is a gift for fans of angst, literally opens with the MC getting stabbed in the heart and Meatbun doesn't let up from there.

Fun fact - the only Meatbun without non-con elements in the primary ship.

Sad fact - it also lacks her usual comedy.

Why I love it: Mo Xi, my princess, genuinely the saddest boy in all of danmei. I'm ridiculously invested in Ximang's quest for happiness.

2) 2ha/Erha/The Husky and his White Cat Shizun

At it's heart (at least to where the official translations are up to) 2ha is a romantic comedy. Tropes you may have found in other danmei hit so good (ghost weddings and shizun fucking).

Fun fact - Has my favourite confession scene out of all danmei I've read.

Sad fact - Being Meatbun's most popular work, you can basically collect spoilers like pokemon cards. Not even ao3 tags are safe.

Why I love it - Meatbun's smut writing is S tier and Mo Ran is one of my favourite protaganists... although he has some competition.

3) To Rule in a Turbulent World

Enter You Miao! His introduction made me fall in love with him just as fast as I did Mo Ran! There's a reason everyone raves about chapter 3. Hilarious, horny and wholesome. The side characters are amazing, the main couple is adorable and it's giving hints of political powerplays. Also the first danmei I've read that seems to really deliver when it comes to skinship. The main couple literally can't keep their hands to themselves.

Fun fact - I'm only 50% through but I am buying every single Fei Tian Ye Xiang 7 seas is about to release day 1.

Sad fact - there's no pictures. Also I'm not sure how angsty it's going to get.

Bonus: For the toxic yaoi fan in your life

Meatbun's most unhinged work. She's peddling all the toxic smut fans of bl mangas and manhwas will be familiar with. Even though it's modern it made me nostalgic for that reason. He Yu is a clown and I adore him. Meatbun is airing all her kinks with this one and I'm not mad about it.

Fun fact- This is the first modern danmei I've read. Also, one of the more fun uses of the straight man trope I've read.

Sad fact - Vol 3 cliffhanger!

Why I love it - It's just pure Meatbun chaos.

Normally I'd see tweets like this and move on but Today I have my day off so I'm gonna deep dive into this "carlando has ruined f1" narrative and the particular part of fandom that's behind it. Spoilers alert it's charles fan aka lestappies

This bitch has the audacity to say this about carlando while posting this shit..ok sure ma'am, carlando is the one ruining the sport and not a fictional ship which has made it to top-65 of ao3 tags...sure it's carlando yeah

I mean I could be generous and say "enjoy your ship but don't be annoying" but I am not in a generous mood so I'm gonna spit facts. Carlando although is a ship that people like, it's actually a real friendship between two people who have been teammates with each other, know each other's family very well, went to family weddings together and have celebrated each other's wins without any malice (unlike sour puss). Meanwhile lestappen exists only and only in certain people's imagination and on ao3.

So tell me, dear viewers which one of these two is ACTUALLY the k-popification of f1 and ruining the sport? I think we all know the answer and it's not carlando.

saying "carlando was a mistake" as if that's something fans have "created" and not an actual friendship between two grown ass men (lestappies can dream).

The reality of the hate behind carlando is the fact that Charles fans LOVE to blame carlos and Lando for everything and anything that goes wrong in the sport. They hate those two drivers and go to stupid lengths to justify that hate. Bitch grow some balls and own it!

They have this delusion that "everyone loves charles cause he earned it" and I'm gonna tell you a very harsh but true fact and it's that most of you like Charles cause he's a decent looking white man who drives for a prestigious f1 team. If he wasn't in ferrari his fanbase would be half of what it is now or maybe even less. Although it's not a crime to like someone for their appearance but trying to say that it's not what it actually is, that's the problem. So please go ahead and write lestappen fics on ao3 and leave Carlos and Lando out of your delusion.

I would also like to address something here that's been bugging me for a while. These people in their attempts to make carlando the big bad evil of f1 take the conversation away from the real evil of f1 that's fia and liberty media. Fia being inconsistent in their penalties and trying to control very personal aspects of drivers like what they wear and what they speak, is doing more damage to f1 than two men being nice to each other. The rich countries throwing money at fia to get a grand prix without caring about the fact how dangerous it could get for drivers like Qatar was. And fia continuously allowing more and more GPs to be held in US even after the absolute cluster fuck that miami and las vegas was last year. The increasing number of street circuits even after knowing how unsafe they are IS THE REAL EVIL not carlando you fucking dufus.

Another note I forgor to mention is I love how after hearing Simon go "it's enough to make your hair turn white" about Martin's office in s4 many of us collectively agreed his hair turned white because of his association with the Lonely. The shared consciousness is real and we use it to play hot potato with the communal brain cell dedicated to the sillies.

Not everyone can finish the expansion/patch in two weeks/a month/whatever. Not everyone is anywhere near being caught up on MSQ and would like to still play the game spoiler free. People who need to use screen readers don't want to be blasted with gibberish from people using rot13.

Tag your spoilers so people can blacklist the tags for however long they need to.

If you don't know how to do that;

Desktop: Settings > Content You See > Filtered Tags

Mobile: Account > Settings > General Settings > Filtering > Filtered Tags

By popular vote, the preferred tag is "[expansion name] spoilers", but with patch content it's also helpful to put the patch number/raid name (ex. "6.4 spoilers" or "eden spoilers"). Let's all try to contribute to the fandom herd immunity and not ruin someone else's gaming experience.
