You know that chapter of Kino’s Journey (okay I know you don’t bear with me here) where Kino goes to that country where everyone is obsessed with this one guy’s painting of tanks and they’re all like “it says so much about war and society” and then Kino meets the painter and he’s all like “nah I just think tanks are really cool”. Yeah that painter is Nightow

The interspersed English that Nightow uses always adds a bit of humor. I’m not even a translator but sometimes I think about what I would do with those bits. Would I keep it to make extra work? Would I translate it into a different language that’s more commonly understood than Japanese but not English (such as Spanish)? Translations are weird man....

Volume three! Ch 14. Omg I see that big cross in the cover. Do we get to meet Nicholas Wolfwood himself? God I hope I’m right and he’s the one with the cross because I’m blasting this post for the Trigun Scholars to see. Blease be kind I know so little

Seems like this volume or at least this chapter is going to be a lot of Vash vs Kaiba

So we’re seeing Rem’s death scene and how it displays her love for humanity, sacrificing herself to save some, even if she can’t save everyone. And seeing that Knives has been a bit fucked from the beginning huh. And why Vash hates him so much (cue Losing My Religion by REM playing in the back)

Vash is typically painted as an angelic type of character (thinking back to chapter nine[?] with the angel/plant they met on the sand steam) so having him depicted more as a devil character is really interesting. They even called this his true nature, although that could just be this villain character giving him shit. I’m excited to see how Vash’s character is fleshed out in future volumes and how these seemingly two sides of him create a whole

Ch 15. I don’t know (yet?) if Knives’ plan was to kill Rem along with a bunch of humans but damn. backfiredddd

So this spirit/angel urging Vash not to kill must be Rem right? Since he said that if he kills here, she’ll be gone for real? I’m taking this to be more of Vash’s memory of her and not a literal angel or spirit

Ch 16. I was totally about to rag on them for having all this insane technology and Meryl still having to use a typewriter but then I remembered that this series is from what. the 80s? Earlier? Honestly who could’ve imagined the technology we’d have in just twenty years from then, it’s insane.

Oh that’s cool! Vash is called “Humanoid Typhoon” right? It’s usually written as 「人間台風」which literally translates to human typhoon but at the beginning of this chapter, Meryl calls him 「人間災害」with furigana instructing the reader to read it as “humanoid typhoon” (same as with the other times), however this translates to “human disaster” rather than typhoon

We’ve finally established that Vash and this power that Knives brings out of him is the reason why July Town was destroyed. This is probably also the reason why he’s got such a high price on his head

Extra chapter. Thank god he didn’t shoot the egg oh my god. The irony of consistently taking the lord’s name in vain so much here (term used ironically but also because what else can I say) while reading Nightow’s bible fanfiction just now hit me

I admit it, I totally skimmed that. In my defense, it’s past midnight.

Final thoughts: Having officially finished up the original trilogy, that was pretty damn good! The ending was great (yes, I know there’s much more to go) and quite bittersweet. The pace really picked up for me in this last volume. My only main issue was just friction between me and the genre, which is no one’s fault but my own. I could definitely do for less action scenes, but again, my favorite genre is the “nothing happens” genre. I’m really excited to see where Trigun Maximum takes the series, especially in the ways that these angels/plants are developed. I’m also excited to see more of Knives and Wolfwood and especially how they both interact with Vash, since they obviously have extremely different perceptions of him. I’m not quite sure where the plot is going to go from here, since it seems like Vash took Knives along with him in his disappearance, but I’ll follow Nightow wherever he leads us in this series. What I’m not looking forward to is having to read more of Nightow’s handwriting. God. Even so, somehow it’s still not the worst I’ve seen from mangaka. Oh, also, there was significantly less of that black cat than I expected. I’ll just assume it comes back in Maximum. And (sorry these thoughts are so unordered) wow the art was so stunning, especially there at the end, that I definitely have half a mind to pick up the physicals for my personal collection. Especially with a fanbase revival due to Trigun Stampede, I’d be more shocked if it’s out of print than if it isn’t. Oh and one more thing, we went through three of the twelve coin assassins. Does that mean that we’re going to go through the other nine in Maximum? Also, I’m not quite clear on why Vash has to collect the coin fragments like this is Dragon Ball (disclaimer: never seen or read any of the dragon ball franchise). Was mystical object collection just a trend back then? What’s going to happen, or supposed to, when Vash gets them all? Hopefully this will become clear as the series continues.

I've yapped enough about how Im a synesthete by now and how I go through life perceiving people's personalities by music instead of by what's handed to me so let me tell you how I am choosing to read Silly Billy/Yourself from that one damn FNF mod!!!! Because I have fucking figured it out!!!!!!!!! Under the cut because this might get really long!!!

I adore the most when I find someone who has strings to them. I'm such a sucker of violin or cello or anything in that family it's so damn good. There's arguably not much to go off on for this character considering the circumstances sadly and there are of course a lot of theories and ways people are choosing to take him but we'll never truly know the original purpose for him. Now I've been writing YS into my stupid little fanfiction series and the way I see him is a desperately depressed man who's lost far too much trying to find a reason to keep living. He's fallen from power and lost his angel wings, whether he ripped them out himself after what happened or just lost them in the aftermath is up to you. But clearly, a very dedicated person who will risk it all since he more or less has nothing left to lose anyways. I think he'd be a very silly and fun person before everything went wrong, confident to a point and creative. And with this track you can gather all of that like clockwork shifting back and forth between hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel and being completely hopeless. Trauma obviously won't be who you are, but it will shape you. And I highly doubt something like that will leave him ever. There are good moments, moments of hope, where things are okay, and then you get sucker punched again by the strings wailing because suddenly things aren't fine anymore, things stop going your way. And it hurts, but it reminds you that you're alive (whether or not you believe you should still be alive is debatable...) and I think that just really suits him. Suits him, because I can recognize that. It's in myself too, just with a different musical voice. There are an infinite number of bad choices to make in life and YS has made his share, but he's made good choices too. He just has to remember that. I don't think there's ever going to be a time where he doesn't struggle as a character, but everyone struggles. Some more than others, but everyone does. He'd also be exceptionally emotionally smart, a side effect of suffering so much.

So... a fiery red, an orange teetering on the edge of rusting, a deep unpolished gray, a cold and lost silver. A small core with almost nothing left, and a single spiraled attempt to bring it all back. Jagged edges that form when he reaches out because he's still struggling, damaged and unsure. Caught between fallen and giving it his all. Rippling waves in the background of lost power and lost purpose.

Lost, but hasn't given up just yet. So don't give up on him just yet either.

so. xavier my buddy xavier......... even b4 he was banished 2 earth he was always really fascinated by the concept of humanity (though all he really knew about them was that they existed, they were mortal, and they were strictly prohibited from learning about) (rule in place because angels are considered holy to humans and so learning about something that considers you divine is considered 'dangerous') (but higher up and more powerful angels can contact and even pass through into earth via mirror shards in certain special cases) (xavier absolutely does not fit into this catergory) and in the end the drive to learn more about humanity is what drove him to seek out the mirror shards and be banished for it (initially he managed to steal four shards but he only managed to successfully conceal and hold on to one of them after being caught and falling) .

and because only a specific few higher up and holy angels were ever allowed to go near the mirror shards at all, no one had any idea that lesser angels could use shards to open communications between dimensions, which is how shard comes into the picture (shard managed to pull off stealing mirror shards years in the past but never got caught) (they're afraid of humans so they dont really know why they did it) (shard is not their actual name but it's what xavier calls them), coz suddenly the mirror shards they stole are displaying an image unprompted and its of xavier being banished and subsequently falling to earth and well he's not in great shape (angels arent able to feel pain, but they have to abide to the life rules of wherever they inhabit. mortality, pain, illness, etc, are all rules of earth that angels do not typically experience)

and anyway shard wakes him up and he freaks out for a bit because um. he just got banished from his fucking home !??? to an entirely different dimension ??? with no way of getting back ??!? but shard's reading the news of what just happened to xavier and it brings up that he was always too interested in humanity so they have a !!!! moment and bring up the fact that... well. you like humans right ? you always wanted to learn about them ? i know this is... horrible, but.. maybe you can learn about humans there ? since earth is. where theyre from. and well xavier doesnt really have anything else going for him so he grounds himself to the idea of. well if im trapped here i can learn all about humans and since i have a connection back home... maybe we can spread news about humanity ??? teach people ??? and shard absolutely does not want to do that but agrees that since they have a connection and its the Only One like this, xavier can teach them all about humans. (even if theyre slightly very terrified). and so tjats how they get started.

um but the whole there only being one exit and no entrance back home really Does mean theres One Exit so all angels fall in relatively the same area (which happens to be a graveyard) so one of the locals to the area takes it upon himself to help any freshly fallen angels back on their feet again and accustomed to the new environment. and while xaviers standing there trying to come to terms w everything they notice him and approach him and offer to help heal up that broken arm of his and grab him a warm meal and a place to sleep. and xavier agrees, so he comes to live with this old man and his dog for a while, learn all about humans firsthand, make a friend, learn how to live here. (shard is not a fan of this. theyre mildly terrified about the entire prospect but well. its xavier's banishment, it's his choice if he wants to live with some strange human and his dog). . jts technically dangerous for humans to have prolonged exposure to angels for a number of reasons but the old man has been doing this for decades now, and angels arent unheard of on earth anymore, so there are lots of things to keep them both safe.

most importantly in regards to the old man though is that he loves fishing and takes xavier along with him and xavier quickly developed a love for fish. hes fascinated by them. loves watching them swim. loves studying them. and eventually when xavier decides ro explore further and further out into the world, he gives him a fishing rod and some bait so that he can go out and do what he loves (and hes always welcome back to the house if he ever wants to)

"Hell no! I'm starving, thanks to you! As far as I can recall, you did say you were going stop by the infirmary to bring me my breakfast, but you never came". Warren said resentfully. "Oh! Forgive me for trying to give you some privacy! I DID go over! but when I realized you were having a blast with "ms. mystery", I left!." Warren's mouth turned into a big "O" surprised by the girl's comment. "Shit, sorry I'm an ass. I should have known better than t-". Those last words were bringing back the multiple times you'd fainted without any apparent reason. Even during a spring day back in your natal Arizona, you could end up in E.R. The doctors had always told your mother it was a heatstroke, yet it never made sense. Yes, it was warm but not blazingly hot like it should have to suffer one. To your mom, you were only doing it for the attention. And after moving to Washington, when you were 5, the faintings stopped, making her believe more in her assumptions.

It also made you remember those winter days when you were little, where all your friends would be covered head to toe with fuzzy clothing whilst you had nothing more than some jeans and a crewneck. People always believed your mother had sucked at parenting for leaving you so exposed to the weather, but for the first time, they were wrong. Yes, she sucked at being a mother, but at least this time, what seemed to be a lack of caring coming from her was just you not being affected by the freezing air like everyone else.

You were about to ask furthermore questions the tall man with the glasses he could perhaps be able to answer when a bald man in his late forties wheeled in. "How is our patient doing, Hank?". He asked. "Better than expected, Charles. Although I would suggest staying in here for observation another 24 hours, just to be sure". Hank replied, straightening his posture as the older man came further inside the room. But why? Just as you were seeking an answer, he spoke. "Because I am the headmaster, young lady. Charles Xavier, at your service". What the actual fuck, how could he have- "Telepathy, that is how, dear". A foreign voice explained inside your mind as the bald man stared at you with knowing eyes. "Please, don't do that ever again! Not without a heads-up at least!". You yelled fearfully. The idea of having somebody else inside your head unexpectedly had to be the scariest thing you could think of, and after having seen your frightened self, the man spoke ordinarily once again.

"Certainly! But, before we continue, how should I call you, dear?". The man, Charles, asked you with a tender voice. " Y/N".

"Very well, Y/N. Now, has Hank told you anything about what we do in here?". "Not much. That this is kinda like a boarding school but for weirdos like us and that some are of you like to run around the city wearing matching bodysuits playing heroes". You said while sitting down crisscrossed on the medical bed. "Well, you are not so wrong, but we are more than that". With that, the conversation about a brighter future for you began.

You had been brought to Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters by luck, without any clue of what could be there to come for you. When you woke up, you'd thought for that place to be nothing but a fancy hospital and nothing else. Now, after your interaction with the headmaster, you were left with a lingering feeling of something you had never experienced before, hope.

Hope for a future away from the streets you've called home for almost a decade. A possibility to become someone you could be proud of being. To form bonds that could last more than a weak or two. Most importantly, the chance of not being so lonely anymore.

In conclusion, Charles Xavier gave you hope for making your wildest dream come true. Stay here, and you will live a normal life.

Both Charles and Hank left the infirmary wing for you to process the information at peace before accepting his offer of prolonging your stay. You'd been so concentrated thinking about all of it. You missed the moment your angel came in.

It was a rare day that none of your boys were working and you had the day off, that only meant one thing. Day drinking and getting up to no good.

“The party has arrived bitches” You shouted as you walked into the room “and I brought truth or dare jenga”

“How old are you again?” Riz smirked.

“Go fuck yourself Ariza” You glared as you placed the box on the table setting the game up.

Soon enough the drinks were flowing, your stomach hurt from laughing and everyone was well on the way to being drunk. The rules of the game were you pulled a block out and the person to your right had to do whatever it said on the block.

“I swear to god” You huffed “I put the sit in your underwear block in a different place every time yet you fuckers always manage to make it land on me”

“Quit moaning and just pull your block out” Gilly smirked.

“Fine” You pouted carefully pulling the next block out smirking as you read the dare that was on it, looking Angel dead in the eyes “Tie your shirt, exposing your stomach and twerk”

“I fucking hate you” Angel glared standing up tying his shirt jut under his pecks, placing his hands on his knees and twerking like his life depended on it. All whilst you record it, everyone was howling with laughter, tears were streaming down your cheeks.

“Damn our boy can twerk” Coco hollered “work that booty Reyes”

“Okay thats all you are getting” Angel pouted, sticking his middle finger up at the camera before sitting back down. “If that finds its way onto social media you are dead”

“Oops” you giggled shrugging your shoulders earring a death glare from the oldest Reyes.

As it went round the table, Riz was now just sitting in a bright pink tutu, Gilly was wearing bright red lipstick and was honestly rocking the shit out of it. Coco had a massive dick drawn on his face in permanent marker courtesy of Ez, Ez’ facebook status had been updated to “i’m coming...i’m coming” and then a minute later “i came” was posted, Taza had his hair in pigtails and Bishop had licked his bikes tyre. Which meant it now fell back on you.

“Oh this is a good one” Bishop smirked “bend over and let everyone spank you as hard as they please”

“Shit” you gulped, this was going to expose you, but a dare was a dare as you stood up, bent over the next table causing the guys to whistle at your ass sticking up in the air. “Just get one with it”

With each spank, you couldn’t help it as a moan escaped your lips, even if you bit your lip to stop yourself.

“Damn our girl is a kinky bitch” Angel smirked.

“Don’t know what you are talking about” you shrugged sitting back down. Pulling the next block out of the stack causing it to topple over meaning it was your turn to do a dare again “Fuck”

Angel had disappeared to get some more drinks as you read the dare.

“Guess i’m calling my crush” You sighed pulling your phone out dialling Angel’s number but not letting the guys see, luckily he was busy holding the tray of drinks to answer but when he sat down he checked his phone.

“Why did you just call me you weirdo” Angel laughed and instantly you felt everyone's eyes burning into you as a few of them whistled.

“This game sucks” You pouted as you shivered “you lot always manage to expose me, so I’m not playing anymore”

Without thinking Angel put his hoodie over your quite naked body and you didn’t miss the smirks that everyone had.

“You are the one that made the dares mama” Coco shrugged.

“Hoping they would land on one of you fuckers” You pouted.

“Okay how about we change the game up” Riz smirked pulling a pack of cards out “strip poker anyone”

“Helloooooooo hardly wearing anything here” You shouted gesturing your body.

“Best not lose then sweetheart” Bishop smirked kissing your head before whispering in your ear “we all know Angel would love it if you lost”

Groaning, you pulled the hood up of Angel's hoodie, resting your head on the table.

on the ground ♡ netflix special (plot - simplified version)

for her whole life, rosé never felt like she belonged in heaven. she liked it - who wouldn’t? but every time she looked down at humans, her heart knew that’s what she needed. she needed to feel the breeze on her skin, she needed to feel the touch of a hand on hers, and she needed to know what it was like to be loved. 

so, at 14 years old, she decided to enroll into the GAA (Guardian Angels Academy) to become a fully trained guardian angel and be assigned to a human once she turned 18. and today, was THAT day.

out of all the people on earth, she got assigned to 18-year-old roseanne park, the bratty and snobby daughter of one of the richest tech ceos in seoul. easy to say, rosé was not thrilled about the match. however, she was determined to do a good job at all costs. she just didn’t know it would cost her everything. 

on her first day on the job, roseanne was involved in a car accident on her way home from school. help was nowhere to be found and rosé was freaking out - she couldn’t let her human die on her first day! so, she did the only (and the stupidest) thing she could think of - she entered her body, thus keeping her alive.

rosé’s plan was to get out as soon as they got to the hospital, but she couldn’t leave. she was stuck. 

so, she tried to get used to having a human body. it was new and exciting, but by far not what she had in mind. she had lived as an angel for 21 years, it wasn’t easy being a human! 

thankfully, her angel friends (who were the guardian angels of roseanne’s friends - jisoo, jennie, and lisa) recognized her, and began to help her as best as they could. not only at getting used to living as roseanne, but also at making sure no one from heaven found out about her mistake. 

nonetheless, as rosé quickly found out, roseanne was not exactly nice. she was what they great poets of the renaissance would call a bitch. she was particularly mean to her classmate youngcho. youngcho was the director of the school’s paper and the top student of her class, but unfortunately for her, she was not at the top of society - in the eyes of a snob like roseanne, less than nothing. 

rosé hated that and decided to start being nice to youngcho. safe to say, that change in roseanne’s personality made people think she had gone completely bonkers. her boyfriend - im sooho - definitely thought that. 

rosé did not have time for all that though. in fact, she had been communicating with roseanne (the real roseanne) in her dreams, to explain all that was happening. and during one of their chit-chats, roseanne had mentioned how weird the accident seemed to her. and the police never discovered who had attacked her, or why.

so, rosé decided to take it upon herself to look more into it. she asked youngcho to help with the investigations, as she was the head of the paper and was used to playing detective. 

they went back to the crime scene and, thanks to her angelic powers, rosé was able to remember the plate number on the car of the attacker. they went back home and with the help of sooho (who was a skilled hacker), they broke into the police database and traced the plate back to the car’s owner. 

the owner turned out to be the driver for im boonok - the ceo of the company rival to the one headed by roseanne’s father, and the mother of her boyfriend - sooho. things couldn’t have been more mysterious, or so rosé thought. 

rosè and sooho organized a dinner with the parents at his house and, as the grown ups were chit-chatting, the two snuck out to boonok’s office and found a file with roseanne’s name on it. however, as they were snooping around, boonok came into the room. oh, were they so fucked... rosé did the only - and again, the stupidest - thing she could thing of. she used her angelic powers to make her and sooho momentarily invisible. the two were able to sneak out of the house and then, rosé came clean to a very confused and extremely flabbergasted sooho. 

the next day, they looked at the file with youngcho. apparently, boonok wanted the necklace that roseanne was always wearing because of the chip embedded in the pendant, which was put there by her father. they took it out and discovered its content: evidence of the embezzlement done by the ceos of the most successful tech companies of seoul. enough proof to send them all to jail for a very long time. thus, their plan was to turn it all to the police. 

however, as rosé was walking home, she was kidnapped by some mysterious men. when she woke up, she was in an abandoned building tied to a chair, with a very annoyed boonok staring at her. you see, to access the file in the chip, a password was required - it was the day roseanne’s mother had disappeared. rosé knew it but boonok did not, so rosé simply pretended she didn’t either. bad choice. boonok brought out youngcho, who had also been kidnapped, and threatened to kill her if rosé did not help her. 

out of options, rosé used her angelic powers once again and managed to free herself. but as she was running to free youngcho, boonok threw a knife at her. she pushed it back, and it ended up wounding boonok on her arm. having used so much energy, rosé left roseanne’s body, who fell unconscious. a good thing, right? well, not entirely. guardian angels cannot harm humans, as doing so will turn them into demons. so yeah - rosé is again fucked.

roseanne, youngcho, and sooho tried to contact rosé, but nothing seemed to work, as humans cannot see angels. hence, rosé simply began waiting for her doom. as soon as her bosses would have heard about everything that had happened, there would have turned her into a demon, and she would’ve been forced to wander the earth while terrorizing humans. 

while waiting, rosé continued following roseanne and the others. one evening, roseanne and sooho went on a date, and rosé... well, did not want to watch THAT. so, she checked up on yongcho, as she was guarded by a very irresponsible angel. while she was crossing the street, a car almost hit her but, at the very last second, rosé ran up to her and was somehow able to push her off the road. and in that moment, youngcho was able to see her. 

confused about what had happened (and how it had happened), rosé ran away. in the morning, her boss came to see her - rosé knew what was coming. as her last wish, she asked if she could go see her friends one last time. roseanne and sooho were once again on a date, while youngcho was reading a book in her room. 

as rosé was turning around to leave, she heard youngcho call her name. she could see her! rosé explained what was happening and even shed a tear during their goodbye (which was surprising because angels could not cry). as she was disappearing, youngcho pulled her in and kissed her. and in that moment, rosé stopped disappearing.

rosé held youngcho’s hand - she could feel it. the wind on her skin - she could feel it. youngcho’s love - she could feel that too. she had become human. rosé’s boss explained to her that since boonok didn’t die, her heroic gestures had triumphed over her mistakes. however, she couldn’t remain an angel anymore, so she was being banished to earth. 

but after all, that was exactly what rosé had wished for all along. everything she wanted, everything she needed, had always been on the ground.

There’s so many things............I wanted to achieve in 2020, which is I’m sure what everyone has said. Somehow I still think 2017 was worse, but .... I don’t know. I was really alone then. I almost lost both my parents, this year I was safe with a better job, good partner, and only lost one (at least I got to see her once in a decade to say goodbye)....ultimately this brought me to heathenism in a weird and roundabout way. It’s hard to know she was really walking around with this poorly depicted Viking nonsense ‘false odin’ with cerberus (why?) going on, lord, she would’ve hated left heathens BUT ALSO wasn’t even a pagan to begin with (so she says, but being a pentecostal and having psychosis, while this does not a pagan make, made for a quite magickal and brutal experience). my mother was a trickster entity in living flesh. at first, i learned into having guides for the first time. i wondered if it was a coping mechanism, but i shrugged, because it was not my intention to see the numbers repeating, or the ‘loki’ every..single..day..for a week... in the weirdest fucking places... it was not my intention to lose my best friends in this city (which is not my final destination, ha) because they were too busy having poly drama, to, idk, support their friend, and then ghosted me, or came up with some weird passive aggressive bullshit. it totally dominated my 2020 - the pandemic, then mom dying, then the deities, then the loss. my card of the year was the hermit, i thought that was such a joke considering the pandemic. how could that then apply to me more personally? I haven’t had time or space mentally to recount the beautiful parts of the year because we’ve been stuck inside, inside during riots, inside during west coast smoke hell, inside where the spiders are. astoria was beautiful. it was god given. i knew what was real was real that day. it’s been seven months since mom passed, and i know her spirit has contacted me. it has brought me closer to my own spirituality which was accidentally rampant chaos magick that i was unaware of - introduced to me by ten years of tricksters who I never quite recognized. at the altar, id pull cards, i began to learn runes, and id ask, “were you always there? was that the presence that was always there?” I don’t know, much of the paranoid presence I felt my whole life ended when mom died. so much ended. i still want to write about it. again and again. because i forget that it happened, i compressed it so far back. everyone walked away and all that remained was my partner and the unseen. i would get straight answers on the altar, but never for that question. i never understood, and still hardly do, why loki came - was it to console me after the passing of my mother? somehow a veil had been lifted and my already wack ass intuition became 25% greater, somehow i felt seen and heard by others. at first, i was scared... i had always gravitated unknowingly towards tricksters and mercurial beings, loki came during the week of L*ghnasadh, after I’d been reading abt the ACTUAL “mercury”/hermes.... it was as if to be like, oh, you’re looking to NAME US FINALLY? THIS ENERGY, HERE _______. I was a little sheepish of Odin because of the association..... and I never quite got an answer. Sometimes still, I am struggling to understand this deity, however many a time loud and clear he and Loki have responded within the half-hour, be it some really weird ultra-specific shit to crop up, flickering shit, popping, knocking over. I turn to him frequently as, the more I read, the more I trust... this understanding of inarticulatable parts of myself - when I read about odr I was thinking of what this could mean for me, especially as a trans person, and it moved me. when I think about knowledge, and loss... when I think of the underdog vying that Odin (and of course Loki) represent, it is always with grace and honor that I am glad to be In It. I struggle tho, cos no matter how viscerally real my experiences have been, and no matter how little I would ever wish to disrespect them by denying faith, as a human who has run far from christianity and is skeptical of everything, every day, I’m like, ‘how much can I lean into this? is this ‘weird’ or delusional? am i acting like a child?” but, ..... I have learned from many smart and creative folks of the same ilk that we are not alone and the passage of time cannot destroy old gods so easily, and I am honored to be called to that. 2020.....that is.....to me, the year of death and rebirth. it was the only parting gift mom could give me. as she died, I told her I knew the lord had brought me there. I knew we had made it JUST in time, by many many strokes of good ‘luck’, to see her off. the last day we saw her was the last day she’d ever seen both her children together in her life. of course, she probably hardly recognized me. and she loved my brother more. had spent less time with him. oh lord, she did look at me with burning eyes of distrust and hatred, but that was not her fault. she was so ill. god she was so ill. dad joked, after she died, ‘maybe she’ll finally be in valhalla’, he didnt know what that meant. mom was a ‘devout’ christian woman of “god”. she was no pagan. she did not serve odin. but 2 months later when I discovered them, I heard his words ringing in my head, and I had to laugh. It’s been so hard...losing the queer comrades I had with me because of ? what ? exactly ? I still dn’t know, watching someone I spent 3 years being ‘close’ to basically patronize me that she always had reservations about us, never let me in, or get closer, like real friends, .... id cry and cry thinking, why, did i lose the one figure who brought me into this world, who i never had, for ten years, who abandoned me and hated every ounce of my being, and to confront this NOW in the middle of a pandemic, where i have zero way to the outside world to cope, and then to be left behind AGAIN by SO MANY PEOPLE, i felt Loki’s comforting presence. I’m trying to focus on the future again, that’s what 2021 is giving me. the “year” label, “when mom died” is over. even if that event forever changed my life far beyond that of a normal passing (?) I mean, it’s never normal when a mom dies, much less a woman like her, have mercy, it’s over. 2021 is the “year when we move to los angeles” its the “year when i start a REAL band again instead of be a side piece for a woman who cant get real with herself and her drum machine”, the “year when maybe ill take my adhd meds and hrt” we’re suspended in a stasis, there are big ups and downs. in two weeks i quit my med of 2 years, because it’s causing harm and i actually dont technically need to be on it anymore. im scared and excited. i need the change. i need the CHOICE.

the red bold number were bright on the clock on your night stand. and tom still wasnt home. it’s been like this for two weeks. where you stayed up just for him to come him. he always had excuses ready

had extra work to do

trying to get extra hours

was late today so i had to stay late

and after every excuse was baby, darling, angel, love. all those little cute names he knew won you over each time. but this time was different. you haven’t had the time to tell tom that you were three months pregnant. because.... he hasn’t been here. you had everything planned out.

when tom would get home around 7:30 pm , your ask him to bring you a fork that you forgot to grab as you eat dinner. you would switch the silverware drawer with a binkie, a bib, and a onesie that read “my daddy is the best.” you imagined toms face. surprised but so excited.

you hear the door shut and lock. a wave of relief went over you. you hear the keys hit the counter and footsteps up the stairs. you couldn’t see him right now so you walked over to the bathroom and sat on your vanity. you combed through your hair and you hear the door open slowly. you figured tom didn’t want to wake you. he shuts it but sees the bathroom light on. he walks over and stops when he sees you.

“darling , what are you doing up ? it’s 3 o—.”

“3 o’clock in the morning tom. i know.” you say still looking in the mirror. “where were you?”

“i had to finish up a job baby you know how it is.” he walked behind you and placed his hands on your shoulders but you were emotionless. surprising since your hormones are all over the place.

“God — fuck tom!” you yell as you stood up and stormed back into the bedroom. “it’s always something with you! extra work! had to stay ! had to finish! for two goddamn fucking weeks!” you continue to yell. “how does it make any since for you to be coming home at three o’clock in the morning?!”

“i’m trying to do this for us y/n! i’m trying to make extra hours for the BOTH of us! why the fuck can’t you understand that!?” tom yells back at you.

you felt you blood boil. you turned and stood in front of him “SO WHAT?! what are you not understanding tom? three o’clock in the fucking morning? when you would come home at eight. at the most! fuck tom just fucking be honest!” you yelled at him. you were now scared for his answer.

“yeah well i’m here now aren’t i y/n?!” he yells

“that doesn’t mean anything tom! i needed you here before. now and in the future! what the hell are you doing aft—“ he cuts you off.

“I was planning for this to be over !” he yells back and you felt your heartbreak. slowly but surely. “this !” he points back and forth between the two of you “this is fucking working anymore! you wanna know where i’ve been? i’ve been either at harrison’s or OUT with harrison! you think i’d cheat on you? i still fucking love you but i can’t — this isn’t working.”

every word that came out of toms mouth tore you apart. you felt you eyes swelling up with water. all you could say is

you turned and headed for the closet. you grabbed a little bag but big enough. you went to your side of the shared dresser. grabbed anything you could fit.

“wait y/n.” tom said quietly. you shook your head and put on your slides and headed down stairs. you grabbed your keys off the kitchen island and headed for the door

“y/n/n im sorry. i-i didn’t mean it!” tom yells after you. you open then door and say “yes you did. and i’m three months tom.” your heart broke because then your plan. your perfect plan was ruined

“w-what? like pregnant ?” his face lit up a bit. the way you imagined but he was still hurt in a way

“yeah.” you walked out the door before he could say anything and headed toward your car.

it’s been a week and two days after you left tom standing in front of the door as you left. you decided to go to your moms house. she was so happy to see you but she was hurt because you stood on the porch crying when she opened the door. she took you in her arms and guided you into the house.

it was morning but almost noon when you were eating cereal and watching cartoons. like you use to do as a kid. your mom kept an eye on you while she was tidying up around the house. you wanted to help but she insisted you just sat down. she knew about the baby before tom did. in fact, she was the first person you told. she was estatic to be a grandma.

“y/n/n , do you wanna go look at stuff for the baby?” she calls out from the kitchen. your heart ached because you came to the realization you were going to raise this baby on your own. but it wasn’t right yet.

“no ma, it doesn’t seem right yet.” you say. your mother walks over to the couch and sits next to you.

“baby, it’s always fun seeing all the little shoes and headbands. let’s just g—.”

the door bell rings. you figured your father just forgot his keys. your mom says hold on and got up to get the door. your attention goes back to the tv.

“tom?” you hear your mother say. your heart skipped a beat. you set the bowl in the coffee table and looked over towards the door. “yes yes, she’s in here.” your mom says and the angel voice says thank you and you see his figure stand between the tile and carpet. “i’ll give you guys time.” your mom says and she heads up stairs.

you were nervous. why did he come now ? you figured he had found someone else maybe. even though he loved you.

“y/n.... i’m sorry. i didn’t mean a word i said. i was out with harrison but, just everything was so stressful at work and with everything. i just didn’t want to lash out on you. i didn’t want to take my frustrations out on you.” he says

“but you did.... tom you did.” you say low and quite

“i know but i didn’t want to. i just didn’t know how to. i didn’t want you to be stressed because of what i was going though baby.”

“tom, we are suppose to be a team. i don’t care what you’re going through. i’ll be here every step.” you place your hand on top of his.

“and now ... you’re having a baby.” he says looking down at your stomach. not really showing yet but it’s there. you nod and a tear rolls down your cheek. he looks at you and wipes it away.

“it’s me and you baby i promise. well me you and baby actually.” you both chuckle

“i’m sorry i still want you. in every way. i’ll communicate i promise. i’m sorry.” he says as he wraps his arm around you. you smile. “i know tommy. i know.” he kisses your forehead and you smile.

“okay now can we go baby shopping?” you hear your mother come from the stairs. both you and tom laugh and you both agreed.

Do you think Hoppers actually dead though?

O K A Y.

I’ve been looking for an excuse to pull all of this together so here we go! NO Anon, I do not think that Chief James Hopper has gone and died on us. There’s no REAL evidence (there are easter eggs though) however and the Duffer Brothers could still pull the rug out from under us but hey.

No I do not believe that Hopper is dead. Although some things can be interpreted as pretty final and if the Duffers really kill him off I will never watch this show again, because it’s horrifically SHITTY writing and im already super tired of that this year lmao.

One - There is no body? We were never showed a body or what’s left of one? We have seen bodies for Benny, Barb, Bob and Billy (and even people who were in it for like 5 minutes). THEY EVEN PRODUCED A FAKE WILL WHEN THEY WANTED US TO THINK HE WAS DEAD. THEY AREN’T AGAINST SHOWING US BODIES!!! Which brings me to my next point!

Two - They also aren’t against to showing us death. Lots of gory detailing death, WHOEVER it is. Billy died horrifically but you saw it even though hes a kid. Bob got ripped to shreds.  And even those dudes at the beginning of S3 died horribly? They still showed it. Hopper’s death??? It cuts away. You see NOTHING. AT. ALL. There aren’t even any remnants OF a body where he was standing, and Joyce goes down there and LOOKS. Surely shed find something? Gooey grossness like the bodies at the beginning? Nope. You could argue that they’d be against showing us the death of a beloved hero and a main character but. Again. Bob was beloved and arguably one of the sweetest characters in the show and he was ripped to bits in front of us and Joyce. Billy was a kid for all intents and purposes, still he died a horrible death. Not one bit of that was cut away.

Three - If you look in the shots hes not on the platform when the thing explodes????? like at all? Either that’s badly shot or its done deliberately because he’s just not there anymore? There’s the portal to the Upside Down and you can see a ladder in the shot too, so maybe he either went into the Upside Down or down the ladder and got caught by the russians?? We just don’t know.

Four - We see the devastated Eleven and the aftermath of what happened at Star Court. Then it jumps to three months later? Okay, odd that were not shown anymore of the grieving or the funeral. Then of course Eleven read the SPEECH. Think about the end of it specifically and about LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN 3 INCHES!! You can see from one of the final shots of Star Court that the gates not CLOSED. It was healing but it never fully closes. So Hopper could be in the Upside Down, or travelled through it to Russia on the other end?? Who knows. Point is, they included this line at the end for a reason. Whether the reason is that hes actually dead and they’re just being profound or that its a hint about his fate, its meaningful.

Five - During the ending the song HEROES by Peter Gabriel plays, this is the same song that was placed over them finding Wills fake body, and after all the goodbyes and the ‘speech’ where it ends with “keep the door open three inches” well. Come on.

Six - Then it cuts to Russia and you hear the “not the american” line, and Hopper was called “the American” throughout the series by that Russian baddie. Should I start waving Red Flags here or???? Then again, a lot of people are saying this could be Brenner. Okay I 100% get your logic Im with ya, and for a few days I’ve also thought it could be Brenner. But here’s the thing. Elevens powers. Brenner makes her use them to spy on a russian man in Season 1. Hinting that there’s more going on here than just super powers, kids and other dimensions. Don’t forget that in the 80s the world was in the grip of the Cold War, and things would have started reaching a boiling point for this long before 1985 when it ‘officially’ began. We were never given any answers about why Brenner was spying on this man, or even Russia. Or even if he WAS spying for the US. Nothing, it’s a throwaway scene. Or IS IT? Russians show up in Season Three somehow knowing about the Upside Down, having failed at their own attempts to open a gate in Russia. They somehow know that its Hawkins they need to be in to successfully open their gate and potentially get monsters to use, oh I don’t know, in a WAR???? How would they have known any of this information to begin with?? Oh I wonder. We were told all about Brenner being alive and out there in season two (and we were never told WHERE and this is not referenced again), but as far as I can remember Eleven has never shared this with anyone else, even though it’s completely RELEVANT information. And as far as I can remember (its been a hell of an emotional few days) I dont think were given any explanation about how the Russians knew about the Upside Down, Hawkins or anything. So maybe the reason they knew is BECAUSE BRENNER is the one giving them their directives? Because hes worked for THEM this whole time???

Seven -  Interestingly also Eleven lost her powers? JEEZ ISN’T THAT CONVENIENT!!! Because the first thing shed use them for is to look for Hopper even if she was told he was dead. Shed look, 100% for the man who saved her, gave her a home, loved her, worried for her, cared for her like she was his goddamn OWN. Conveniently though now SHE CANT??? Interesting.

Eight -  And now. There’s the voicemail message. In one of the episodes (my brains so fried I cant remember which one sorry) Murrays gives out his landline number, and when you call it you can hear him give a message to Joyce. You can listen to it here.  You can tell this is after season three, because why would he talk to Joyce Byers? Surely if he was trying to reach someone for information it would be Hopper?  “I have an update, its best if we speak in person" an update??? About what??? Why is he coercing with joyce???  Notice how he says “it’s not good or bad but its SOMETHING” and then says “we’ll talk about it in person” (or something like that) why would he be calling joyce with an ‘update’?????????? AND ON WHAT EXACTLY?? INTERESTING!!

Nine - Theres this interview with the cast specifically ABOUT Hopper, the death and the post credits scene. And I love David Harbour but, you cannot lie for shit my angel.

Ten - Millie has said in an interview “ Her dads gone, or so she thinks” COME ON.

Eleven - Again WE KNOW DAVID HARBOUR IS LIKE THE MARK RUFFALO OF STRANGER THINGS. And hes bad at keeping shit to himself. Hes already told us at the end of last YEAR, literally a month after they finished filming season three that the Duffers have told him the ending to the series as a whole. Why would any creator do this for a man they have effectively just fired, because his character died? Why would they tell him? They wouldn’t.

Tweleve - Again. David Harbour, bless his heart, I think its trying to give us HINTS and bread crumbs to follow. Last week he changed his instagram photo from Hopper in S1 to the number 6. Odd. Today he changed it to the number one :

Twelve continued - Basically if he changed it to an 8 next, we know hes trying to hint at Murrays voicemail message and this is a clue for Hopper. Because why else would he bother?

Thirteen - Theres also this screenshot from Cara Buonos instagram where she literally SAYS about him being in Kamchatka, and uses the Russian word for PRISON. (Of course this could just be a joke between the actors

Fourteen - Theres also the fact, which is not evidence mind you, that its incredibly shitty writing to have both the men that Joyce Byers loved/loves to die in front of her? And actually having her put the action in motion that kills the man she loves? No. I wont accept that. And weve been shown her non willingness to believe in peoples death, everyone and their mothers told her Will was dead and she was being crazy. Did she listen? No. And she got her boy back. Will she think once she has a clear head that Hoppers dead? Maybe. Which is why she asks Murray to investigate. Hence the Voicemail Message.

Fifteen - Its also incredibly shitty and hard to swallow, for Elevens sake too. I mentioned already how much she loves Hopper and finally got a true parent in him. Do you honestly think they’d put her through all of that just to lose him NOW? Like i said, its convienent how shes lost her powers at this very crucial moment.

Sixteen - DAVID. HARBOURS. BEARD. RIGHT. NOW.

And SEVENTEEN -Just in case y’all are having trouble with any of that it looks like David Harbour has let sorta slip (my god I fucking ADORE THIS MAN LET ME TELL YOU). I dont know how reliable this is mind you because its not coming from a BIG source, but HERE he hints at knowing who the American is, after telling everyone else (see the interview above ^^) that he doesnt know and he cant say anything. 

‘During an interview with David Harbour, I attempted to delicately get around the fate of Jim Hopper. Harbour, however, came right out and gave it to me straight. “This is the question I’m going to have to dance around–” I began, only for Harbour to interrupt me and ask, “The ending?” “Right,” I said. “Is there a way you can talk about the future of Hopper without…” I trailed off here, only for Harbour to ask: “Well, did you see the post-credits scene?”I had, of course. And so I straight-up asked: is that Hopper behind the door? According to Harbour, that’s the most likely scenario. Throughout the season, the main Russian baddie refers to Hopper as “the American”, and having another Russian refer to the mysterious prisoner in the same way was the big giveaway.Of course, knowing that Hopper is alive, and knowing how he survived and ended up in Russia, are two different things. We’ll have to wait for season 4 to get that answer. And we’ll have to wait to see how things unfold from there. Will a big chunk of season 4 involve Hopper escaping that Russian base, and trying to get back to America? Time will tell. One thing is clear: Hopper still has a long journey ahead of him; not just physically, but emotionally.’

SO, basically Jim Hopper has not left us, Joyce or Eleven.  And if the Duffer Brothers have done all this to screw with us, well. Im not gonna be responsible for what I do.
