Dallas: Sorry, sorry. Dallas: Not trying to freak you out, but do want you to be careful. Dallas: Of course I will. Dallas: Just tell me when and where and I'll be there.
Wren: wtf Wren: Great now i'm definitely gonna feel like I'm being stalked and watched.. Wren: Kinda hard to forget when you're literally twice my size, DJ. [delayed] Wren: ..Could you though? Wren: Come with me if/when I talk to him again?

Swing and a wince, there's a profanity muttered under his breath as his blue golf ball rolls across the green and smacks into the wall of the little castle that shrouded the hole he's aiming for. He had thought he had perfectly aligned and timed his swing to best the slight incline of the drawbridge, but he's been fast learning that mini-golf isn't his sport.
"I actually meant to do that," He informs her, his golf club being used to point between where his ball had rolled to a stop near the edge of the drawbridge and his intended target itself. "If I lose this game I might just go ahead and decide eh, my birthday's actually tomorrow, which is a privilege that only you and me have."

06. the lovers : how important are relationships to your muse ? do they value having a significant other ?
"They're pretty important, I don't think you got much if you ain't got people around you that you care for and that care for you."
"I wouldn't have a significant other if I didn't value them, which is why it's been a minute since I've been in an actual relationship or wanted to be. I've had a lot of changes in my life since I moved here and even more to work on about myself. I'm not sure I always get the balance right, but I do want to try to and right now there's only one person that feels significant like that." @thewrenxharlow

where: sharky’s halloween party
"I'm starting to think no one's going to have a clue who I am if I'm not next to you," Dallas says on his return from the bar, two drinks in hand with one of them being held out to Wren to take, opting not to share the bartender's guess for what he had dressed as because he had been so unimpressed by it.
( He certainly didn't have the moves like he-who-he-would-not-name. )
"Guess that means y'have to stick real close by me."

where: near the face painting booth @ the summer carnival
Dallas was never more sure he was onto a brainwave than when he took his strawberry slushie and his Sea Breeze cocktail and mixed them together into one boozy supreme beverage that was hitting exactly as he wanted it to. So much so that he was eyeing the facepainting stand with intrigue as he sucked a gulp up through his slushie straw.
He was almost certain that he was one confession away from Wren being pissed at him, which was why he was putting off a conversation they should have been having an distracting himself instead with the festivities around them.
"You think they'll paint a shark on my cheek if I ask them too?"
Were sharks carnival themed? There was one way to find out.
"This cheek, by the way," He pointed to his face, shaking his head like he was tutting at Wren for something she hadn't even said. "Not my ass before your mind goes there. It's not that kind of carnival."

where: boardwalk after sharkys after midnight
"Woah... Wait... Look over there, what the fuck is that?" Dallas indicates towards the water, his face a picture of a man who had seen something suspect on the waves. No such occurrence had taken place, and that became evident when the second Wren glanced in the direction he focused on, Dallas seized the opportunity to pluck a slice of pepperoni off her pizza slice after insisting he wanted none on his when they had been ordering.
"Yoink. Made you look."
It's entirely juvenile on his end, but it was easy to be around someone who was so tied to the few and far between better parts of his childhood. He tosses the pepperoni in his mouth and chews it, speaking again only after he swallowed.
"Did you have a good night, Bonnie? It's kind of funny how the whole town shows out for a costume competition."

where: outside ocean crest
The bottle of water he had been handed by his colleague Beau had only been half-drank by him, the rest of poured over his own head after he got his helmet off and removed his SDBA from his face. The liquid only provided a brief cool down, every part of him felt hot, the kind that only came from extended exposure to flames.
Two-in, two-out was out in force as the flames raged on. Both Dallas and Angel made sure that Beau and Crash knew that they had made it out after the second sweep, the four of them as a well-oiled unit. He knew it was only a matter of minutes before the incident commander pulled rank and he wasn't ready to be told that he was done yet. As long as there was still people inside the building, he would keep running into the fire.
"Jones! Jones! Over here!" Beau's voice was accompanied by a whistle to get his attention, causing his head to snap quickly in his direction. He was expecting something bad -- this whole night was rife with it -- but what he saw next to him was a brunette who's empty apartment had already been checked by him.
He dropped his empty water bottle on the ground as he ran over to her, resisting his instinct to engulf her in a hug in case she had been injured in getting out of the building.
"Are you okay? I didn't think you were home, I checked your floor. I hoped you weren't home." He should have known better than to even hope that with the way their luck tended to go. She was there, he reminded himself, she was safe. "I ain't never making a joke like that disaster one again, swear it."

where: oasis, near the bar
"That's so fucking nasty." Dallas says as he holds the now empty shot glass away from him like he was banishing it, a grimace on his face now that he had swallowed as the alcohol felt like it settled in his chest. He had gone with something tequila -- Sunrise? Rose? He's not even sure -- as a shot for the pair of them, regretting it with a quickness.
He placed his empty glass back down on the bar, shuffling a little closer to Wren to make room for the tipsy pair that had sidled up behind him to order next, leaning in so he could speak near her ear so she might actually hear him over the thumping bass.
"Besides these gasoline tasting shots, are you having fun?" He asks, hoping for some sort of yes as the answer given he had been the one to convince her to go.

where: golden hour lounge
For the most part, Dallas felt useless in his current situation. Cut off from the fire station and marooned at the Lounge, he knew the best way he could help was to stay put and make sure no one did anything reckless, but that didn't mean his instincts weren't telling him he should be elsewhere with his brothers-in-fire-alarms.
Running into flames was second nature to him, he had no idea how to wait out water.
So, he did the only thing of value he could think to do and posted up at the entrance to the lounge to ensure no one ran out into the dark and the rain in case anyone decided to be a hero.
His watch was only broken by banging on the door from the other side, the deliberate kind that fists made rather than sporadic thuds of runaway branches and debris items colliding with it on a gust.
No one out didn't equate to no one in, and when he unlocked the door to let in the next shelter-seeking stranger into the joint he was once again faced with the opposite of one.
"Why the hell are you outside right now?" The concern in his words might have been lost in translation as he ushered her inside and out of the elements. Dallas was a person with few people, he could list everyone he had ever truly cared for in less than ten seconds, so Wren's appearance brought him some solace in the literal storm going on around him. "We gotta stop meeting like this."

🏠- A memory about their childhood home/where they used to live
"I never had a place I could really call home like that before I landed here, so I don't know if I have a specific one to share with you from before then. It was a lot of bouncing around, getting my ass kicked until I learned how to kick someone's ass instead and running down the clock until my foster family at the time inevitably decided I was more hassle than I was worth, and that was always what they decided. I think when that's how life starts, your mind has to block out specifics or your whole adulthood would be eaten up with all'a them whys and all that anger at the world. Questions you know damn well you'll never have answered."
"The one's where Wren was at too sucked the least because she was there, that's about the only good memory I can tell you for certain." @thewrenxharlow

under pressure: give an example of a world event that occurred the year you were born.
"I'm terrible with history if that's what you would even call that so the only thing I can think of is Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morrissette dropped, which may not be a world event to you but according to Wren it was and after I heard that Ironic song on it when she made me listen, I'm inclined to agree. It goes hard." @thewrenxharlow
