* jonathan daviss, cis man + he/him  | you know ebenezer "nez" kendrick, right? they’re twenty, and they’ve lived in irving for, like, their whole life? well, their spotify wrapped says they listened to perfume by de'wayne ft awsten knight like, a million times this year, which makes sense ‘cause they’ve got that whole worn out converse, paint splattered jeans, and an old ring on a chain around his neck thing going on. i just checked and their birthday is june 20th, so they’re a cancer, which is unsurprising, all things considered. was raised by his single dad for as long as he can remember. his mom was in a car accident when he was two, which killed both her and the baby she was pregnant with. nez doesn't remember any of it, and most of what he remembers about his mom is constructed from stories he's heard about her from family and home videos.

his dad never really recovered. every once in a while nez catches him looking at a picture of her or the family on the wall like he has a lot on his mind.

has always tried to be good so he didn't cause his dad any more problems. honor roll, never got detention in his life, helps the old lady across the street with her groceries every week, all that good stuff. also trying to do things he thinks would make his mom proud ? who knows !

is currently doing college online and still living at home.

does "street art" without asking anyone, so its basically vandalism but don't tell his dad. he carries around paints and paintbrushes and a little wooden paint palette because he thinks spray paint is too low class.

is actually a rather talented artist, so there are probably people who don't actually mind. the worst trouble he's ever gotten into is a slap on the wrist "hey kid ask first" from a cop a couple times. talented privilege. is this realistic ? probably not, but it's my fiction i get to decide what happened.

hes probably done one of those walls that people like to take insta pics in front of at some point

sometimes people pay him to do murals for them, and thats pretty much his job. he works at zoinkies too, but thats less interesting to tell people about.

has a big chonky orange cat named paddy, proper name paddy wagon, who is his pride and joy. this cat likes almost nobody except nez and his dad but if you so much as breathe a word about it nez will look at you like you just insulted his great ancestors and then turn right around to sweet talk his baby and tell him what a good boy he is

if you want to drive him crazy call him any variation of his name that isn’t nez. he is not a violent man but he may cause harm to anyone who calls him scrooge
