having some kodi thoughts so i thought i'd share with you all.

i wonder if jodi ever looks at kent and sees the 17 year old she fell in love with. i wonder if, beneath all his scars, she still sees the boy she knew back then. the boy who became her best friend - the man who still is her best friend.

the boy she loved so much she married the week after he turned 18. the boy she had to watch leave for war, knowing he wouldn't return the same. the man who's changed over the years and grown distant to protect her.. the man who she still loves and cares for despite this.

the man who she tries to do something nice for by making popcorn. the boy who used to share popcorn with her as they watched movies on his mother's couch. the man who can't stand the sound anymore.

the man who is hurting more than he lets on. the boy who was hurt. the boy who lost himself to protect her and their family.

i wonder if she looks at him and wonders how he sees her. the girl with the big dreams and fierce personality. the girl who wanted freedom and a life other than what she was given.

the girl who fell in love with him because he let her make her own choices. the woman who selflessly gave it all up because she wanted a life with him.

the woman who secretly yearns for simpler times. the woman who, despite all her regrets, would do it all over again.

the woman who was just as beautiful as the girl he met. the girl who left him speechless and drew him in with her wild heart.

the woman who he can't believe is his wife. the girl who could've had anyone she wanted - yet she chose him.

the woman he'd do anything to protect. the girl still in there - holding onto the dreams of her youth, wishing she could've accomplished them. the woman who knows she never will.

sigh.. they're so important to me.

telling people your favorite sdv npc is kent is always a rocky slope.

they automatically assume you want him / want to ruin his marriage and I!! DONT!!!!

i just want to look at him under a microscope and inspect his brain matter and the inner machinations of his mind..

i've spent MONTHS diving into his character and analyzing him and writing a pre canon backstory..

plus, i adore him AND his wife. like?? they're literally so perfect together and it lowk makes me upset to see kent/jodi shipped with people who aren't each other..

like i even made two ocs just for the purpose of a) one of them being jodi's older brother and b) both of them being kent's best friends..
