a lando x desi!reader marriage fic. Omgggv just imagine all the lil functions and tradition it'd be sooo cutee
Mehndi laga ke rakhna
OKAY SO. i did get a request similar to this so im just gonna combine both so i hope yall dont mind!!! the other request i got was basically this but it just mentioned that lando was telling y/n that they’ll get married like this one day and i wanted to include that cause it’s so cute🤭 also the unfortunate truth is that i haven’t been to a lot of weddings. the only wedding i remember very well was my aunt’s wedding from when 10 years ago(i was 9. fuck that’s crazy) but i did my best with this.
Tumblr media
Ever since Y/n took Lando to her friend’s wedding. The thought of marrying her never left his mind. All he wanted was to marry her but the way her culture does it. Growing up in India meant a lot of traditions, festivals, wedding events, etc.
When Y/n asked Lando to come with her to her friend’s wedding, he said no at first but after attending all the events, he was mesmerised. He loved every single one of them. The mehndi, the sangeet, the haldi. all of it
The day of the wedding, as both of them watched her friend marry the love of her life, he wrapped his arms around her beautiful lengha whispering
“One day, I’m gonna marry you exactly like this”
She smiled said she couldn’t wait for that day to come. And boy that day came so quickly. With the blessing of her parents, he proposed to her a month or two later and immediately got to work.
Lando basically saw a new side of his fiancée. Full of stress and making sure things were right. Slowly she started to lose her mind cause she had to come up with the guest list, find the venue for all the events and Lando was starting to see how much goes into a desi wedding.
But once all the events took place, it felt magical.
Mehndi
The mehndi event was fine. Y/n was basically sitting in one place for hours getting mehndi (henna) done on her hands and legs. Lando kept coming over to give her company smiling like a child the whole time.
She was wearing a simple kurta that belonged to her mom with a dupata. She saw Lando come up to her and sit next to her careful not to ruin anything
“Hello my lovely bride” He greeted her placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.
“Hi baba. Hogaya tera? (you’re done?)” She asked him and he happily showed off his palm with mehndi on it.
“All done and dried”
She smiled at his little goofy self. They enjoyed each other’s company even though she basically couldn’t move but she leaned into him resting herself as she watched the design come to life on her body.
He loved everything about this. He knew he was gonna love the coming days of this era.
Sangeet
The sangeet was everyone’s favourite cause they get to dance for the couple and her friends had so much planned for them. The drivers invited actually reached out to Y/n’s friends and asked them for help so they could do a dance and that’s exactly what they did.
Everyone was getting drinks, having conversations and when it was time for the performance, they gathered around the floor stage to watch the performances by friends.
Lando and Y/n were sitting at the front while the rest were standing and two of her friends entered with the song “kamariya” playing making her cheer since it was garba dance which she adored so much. The dance was so good and when it was changing to the next song, the rest of her group joined in.
The next dance had the song “kukkad” so the boys and girls were dancing together. The reason they chose this song was cause student of the year was their favourite movie during their childhood (and also because of Sidharth Malhotra).
A few performances later came the best for last. Carlos, Oscar, Max, Charles and George entered the stage making the crowd go crazy. Especially Lando since he gets to see his friends dance to the best item song ever which was “fevicol se”
They boys did great. Y/n was so proud of them she got up with Lando and went to hug them after their dance and everyone joined the floor having the time of their life.
Haldi
Lando and Y/n decided to keep the haldi event small with close friends and family only. The haldi event was basically smearing tumeric/haldi on the bride and groom. It’s normally a day or two before the actual wedding and held it at her house.
Everyone put tumeric all over them. In their hair, skin, clothes. Everywhere. It was a short event but very intimate and fun. So many pictures got taken over the days and many memories were made.
The wedding
the day was finally here. The day Lando and Y/n get married. How were they feeling you ask? nervous as hell. No cold feet. No. They knew they wanted to do this. It just felt too good to be true. They couldn’t believe this was actually happening
Y/n was in the dressing room getting ready for the big day. She wore a beautiful Manish Malhotra Lenhgha and her makeup was stunning. Her mother was helping her get everything together.
“I’m so happy for you baba. Meri bacchi ki shaadi ho rahi hai (my daughter is getting married)”
She said before kissing Y/n’s cheek aggressively making her laugh.
“Love you too mumma. zyada rona matt (don’t cry too much)”
Her mother laughed but just pulled her cheek. After a while, the time came. They entered and Lando was already sitting next to the fire mesmerised by her beauty. She was already so beautiful but seeing her as bride struck something in him.
He couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with this woman. As she sat down with him the words immediately left his mouth
“You look so beautiful…”
Y/n blushed. After all these years, he still managed to get her all flustered smiling like a little girl.
“Still know how to make me blush after all these years huh?”
She said teasing him.
The ceremony was beautiful. Both families were crying. Seeing their children get married was something they weren’t ready for but loved it regardless.
The wedding eneded in a few hours and it was magical. It was everything the both of them wanted. Once they headed back, they stepped into the house for the first time as husband and wife.
Lando immediately kissed his wife. Still processing that this woman was now his wife. He pulled away saying
“Welcome home wife” He said booping her nose making her tear up a little out of happiness.
“Welcome home husband” She returned immediately hugging him whispering
“I love you. I can’t wait to spend the remainder of my life with you”
He felt so happy hearing that
“I love you too. I’m so excited to spend my life with you too”
They got the life they wanted and deserved. It was the best time of their life and when all the photos came, they spent a lot of time looking at it and deciding which ones to put up on their wall.
It was a good wedding indeed.

THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT so light up their world, it shall be enjoyed by everyone.
PAIRINGS: no pairings but includes sumeru characters GENRE: modern au but still present in sumeru NOTE: if there's anything wrong here please correct me!! WORD COUNT: 1.7k
Tumblr media
"The spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance."
.
.
"The time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, eradicate dark shadows and evils, and gives us the strength to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year."
.
.
"So.. can I use my sparkler to scare the evil away?"
Your eyes shifted to one of the kids present in your circle. A small smile formed on your face as you heard the question.
"Well.. yes you can-"
"CMON GUYS LET'S GO!"
"Oh.. at least they're in the spirit." You mumbled to yourself.
You rose from your seat and fixed your skirt. Your eyes lingered on the children, running away and enjoying the view of the sparklers in their hands. Just two minutes ago they were begging for some Diwali stories. Oh well!
"Y/N! You look so beautiful!"
Your attention on the children was moved as soon as you heard a new voice. Your head turned in the direction and noticed the elderly woman who stood right in front of you.
Her eyes shifted from your saree to your accessories, to your bindi. Admiring your beauty on the whole, giving you the warmest smile.
"Thank you ma'am," You replied, returning the smile. Your eyes wandered to her hand, actually to the item in her hand.
"Do you need help?" You asked, stretching out your hand. But to your surprise, the woman shook her head, yet still offering it to you.
"It's actually for you and your parents, your mother helped me once, this is my thanks." She explained, giving you the basket filled of sweets.
"Oh, thank you!"
You took the basket out of her hand and gave her yet another smile. Her eyes made their way onto your hand and offered a suggestion.
"If you want, I can offer to do your mehndi." Her body moved in the opposite direction, showing you a group of ladies who were conversing with each other while letting their mehndi dry.
Your eyes made their way back onto the woman and agreed to her offer, making your mini-departure and beginning your adventure back to your home, with sweets in hand.
The sun had already set, yet the city was not dark. It was lit up, beautiful lanterns everywhere, diyas being lit and placed at the entrances of homes. So your venture back home was well lit, not only with the lights but with the smiles of passersby and children outside who were enjoying the activities.
That elderly woman wasn't a stranger, in fact, everyone who's a local isn't strangers to each other. But that woman always offers gifts to your family every year, so it won't be shocking if your mother has a gift prepared for you to give the woman.
As your home was in view, your mother noticed you as she was opening the windows, in the hope of Mother Lakshmi finding her way inside to bless them with wealth and success.
"Y/N, you're back! Before you return back to the city, can you help me place the diyas around the house? And outside. Please!" Your mother informed you, opening the door for you.
You made your way inside and made it into the kitchen, greeting your father and witness the food on the table.
"I brought snacks, we can eat them later."
Your father nodded at your words, then asked a question.
"Are your friends still coming over?" He asked.
"Cyno and the others? Of course."
With those last words being spoken, your mini activity with your mother started, diyas placed around the house, more attraction for Mother Lakshmi.
Before you left the house once again, your mother gave you a basket of sweets to offer the elderly woman.
Tumblr media
You made your way back to the city, gave the gift to the woman, and got your mehndi done as well! The ladies nearby invited you into their conversation as you let your hands dry.
In the end, once you were finished, you bid them goodbye and left.
On your mini walk, a certain someone caught your attention, she blended in with the children nearby. Talking about children, it's the group from earlier and upon noticing you, they invited you over.
.
.
"That looks amazing, good job guys!" You praised them. The group of children all came together to create rangoli, along with..
"Y/N?" A soft voice reached your ears.
"Nahida, hello." You greeted, bending a bit to reach her level, giving her a small pat on her head. Nahida wore a lehenga, a green one that complimented her eyes.
A small smile made its way onto her face as her eyes shifted from you and back to the children that surrounded her, witnessing the teamwork each kid put into creating the rangoli.
Nahida stood up from her spot and turned to face you.
"Is it time to go? I got caught up with them, I forgot about the invitation to your house." She started.
"No, it's not time, I'm just strolling and then I saw you!" You simply explained, causing the girl to nod at your words.
"Shall I join you?"
"Of course!"
You two then made your way deeper into the city, in hopes of maybe finding your friends along the way.
As you wished, the stroll with Nahida was indeed calming but in doing so, you met up with some familiar faces. That being Tighnari and Collei.
Upon seeing you both, Collei gave you two a cheerful wave as her face lit up. Tighnari noticed and began walking up, Collei slowly following behind.
"Is it time?" He asked. You shook your head no and asked a few questions.
"Have you seen the others?" You asked, though before you could've gotten an answer, Nilou came up from behind.
"I'm here!" She exclaimed, twirling in her saree. She gave you a tight hug, then turned you around, showing Cyno and Candace.
"Everyone's here!" You said, expressing your excitement with a bright smile and clasping your hands together.
"Since we're all together, won't it make sense we make our way back to your house?" Nahida asked, placing all the attention on her.
"Sure, we can." You replied.
The newly formed group of friends followed behind you as you all ventured back, that is.. Until something caught your eye, rather someone.
The group noticed the change in your behavior and stopped walking.
"Is something wrong?" Cyno asked, placing his hand on your shoulder.
You turned to face him, then your friends, and decided to change up the plans.
"Let's go back, but I have a suggestion to make."
"And that us?" Tighnari asked.
"I'll explain once we get back. let's go."
Tumblr media
"May the lights of Diwali brighten your path and illuminate your life with peace and joy."
.
.
"Is everything ready?"
.
.
In your hands held a lantern, making your way with not only your friends but everyone you've talked to tonight, that elderly woman, the children, the ladies, and your parents, all holding diyas, lanterns, sweets, and tasty food.
The sight was wondrous, everyone came together yet the plan wasn't completed, not as yet.
You, being the first and the only person to notice, made your way to the dark and silent home, a bit far from the city's light. Silently, you rested the lantern on the floor and knocked on the door.
Knock!
.
.
"What do you want."
"For you to open up of course."
"Then you'll be waiting there all night long."
.
.
"You're still there aren't you..?"
"Mhm!"
Just then, you heard a sigh from the other side causing you to laugh a bit. You picked back up your lantern as he opened up the door, glaring at you.
"Why are you here? You're supposed to be enjoying the festival."
You smiled at the mention of the festival.
"I'm here to bring the festival to you Scaramouche."
"Why?"
"I saw you peeking in the darkness, I know you want to join in, but too scared to ruin it, is that what you're thinking?"
Indeed that is what he was exactly thinking. Yet he won't admit to that.
"Just go back." He ended, about to close the door but his eyes caught onto the light in the background, rather at how the light got closer..
Then it hit him.
"What are you.."
"Like I said, bringing the festival to you, everyone should enjoy the warmth of Diwali." You explained with a warm smile.
His eyes softened for a second yet he hid it with a sigh and walked off into the darkness, leaving his door open.
You accepted his silent invitation, before entering you hung the lantern up outside his home and walked in.
The darkness and silence were soon removed as everyone slowly made it inside. The children, along with Nahdia all came in with diyas, placing them around his home.
Your mother placed the food on the table, then made her way to open his windows.
Others with sweets and more food placed them on the table as well, joining the others as they all began to share them with everyone.
His eyes witnessed how slowly his house changed, light everywhere, friends and family inside and outside, all chatting and laughing.
You made your way towards him, holding a diya.
"Do you wanna decorate this?"
His eyes shifted onto you, and then asked a simple question.
"Why did you do this?"
You turned to face everyone, who had sparklers, who ate, and who were just enjoying the mood.
"Diwali is the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It's celebrated with everyone, I won't allow anyone to be alone in darkness at a time like this."
"Hm." His eyes lingered on the children who decided to create a rangoli in the middle of his living room.
Nahida walked up to him with a sparkler in her hand.
"This represent the light that dispels the darkness of ignorance and evil, and also.." She started, grabbing his hand and walked outside.
Everyone followed behind, all making their way outside.
The sound of fireworks caught the attentions as it lit up the sky.
"These also represent the light." She finished.
Nilou, along with a few younger girls all danced around with their sparklers. Cyno, Tighnari and Collei enjoyed the sight of the fireworks.
"Happy Diwali." You said, turning to face the duo.
"Happy Diwali"
.
.
"Do you still wanna decorate this diya?"
"Yeah sure, whatever.."

henna hearts
— pavitr prabhakar x gn!reader
Tumblr media
summary: You never realised how long mehndi would take to do. Pavitr's got all the time in the world for you, though.
content/warnings: fluff, slight hurt/comfort, ambiguous relationship, briefly edited, henna/mehndi maybe used interchangeably
word count: 1.1k
a/n: he's not Real guys he's not (mitski starts playing)
“You're tickling me…!”
“Just how am I tickling you?”
Though you held your laugh behind pursed lips, a snort escaped from the boy in front of you — the boy who was so desperately trying to finish your mehndi before it got too dark for you to go home.
“Pavi, seriously, we're not gonna finish if you keep doing that.” You tried to frown, but your face was stuck in the ache of a grin. He probably felt the same.
“I'm just trying to keep your arm straight!”
“It is straight!”
“It won't be when I have to do the other side.” You gave him a dubious look, and he seemed to mirror it.
“You're doing my whole arm?”
“I wanted to, but…”
“But what?”
Pavitr's gave you one of those unreadable smiles which you could never tell were teasing or not, looking at you through the dark tousled curls that shrouded his face. Without much thought, you reached out carefully, brushing away his hair with the very tips of your fingers.
His irises caught the colour of the decorative lights around his room, and the way his expression softened made it seem like he was looking at you with all the tenderness in the world. It was hard to look away, and you felt your heart squeeze with embarrassment as a quiet laugh escaped his lips.
“But what…?” you asked again, hoping your voice didn’t sound weird.
“You’ll probably have to stay if I do.”
“Ah…” You nodded, as if it’d hide your disappointment. “Well, you know I can't, so…”
“I know.” He gently lifted your hand again to straighten it out, the tip of the tube grazing your skin with a coolness as faint as an exhale. As he worked on a flower in the middle of your forearm, you noticed his own hands were stained. Pavitr didn't seem to mind, or mention it at all, so you decided to let him focus.
There was a silence between you two, all except for the muffled clatter of pots and pans in the kitchen, where his aunt was cooking. Well, you called her auntie too; in fact, you'd never gotten so close to anyone as you did Pavitr and Maya Auntie. A part of you hoped it went both ways.
“How'd you learn to do this anyway?” Your question made him lift his head slightly. “Auntie said you’re even better than her at it.”
A quiet chuckle left him, and he finished the flower off with a small circle in the centre. “My cousins at home taught me. They always begged to practice on me anyway.”
“Really?” The image amused you: a bunch of young girls drawing all over a younger and scrawnier Pavitr’s arms ruthlessly with mehndi while he begrudgingly sat still.
“Yep, and then I started doing it for them before Diwali, birthdays… Nothing big, just simple designs.”
You looked down at your arms, decorated beautifully with intricate designs that just somehow connected together. Whenever you thought he was done, he added more flowers and swirls and patterns, and suddenly it felt like the design would be incomplete without it. He was doing it from the top of his head too; if only you could understand how. All you had to do was sit and wait, and take care not to smudge it. Maya Auntie even suggested that you should avoid doing the dishes at home, so the colour would stay longer. Fat chance, you thought, watching how quickly your arm was being embellished.
“And you call this simple?” you muttered, almost shaking your head.
“Anything’s simple when it's for you, right…?”
Suddenly, he winced, but not at you. Pavitr’s hand hesitantly moved away from the part he was just working on, and there was just the tiniest smudge running across one of the petals. Your lips pressed together out of reflex, but you quickly regretted it when you saw the flash of worry across Pavitr’s face. The brightness seemed to leave his eyes; your reaction was the real mistake.
“Wait, I'll fix it,” he said quickly, reaching to wipe it away with the corner of his shirt.
“Hey, no no no.” You moved your hand away, furrowing your brows at him. “Why ruin your shirt?”
“It would wash out,” he replied sheepishly.
“Not for a while.” Shaking your head, you tried to keep yourself calm. Why’d you have to do that? “It's okay, it's just a little smear.”
Pavitr frowned. It was only slightly, but you felt your stomach twist in guilt. All you wanted nothing more than to touch his cheek, reassure him; not without messing up his face, you couldn't. He really wanted to get it perfect.
“You could just get a tissue from the kitchen, or something,” you suggested.
“It’ll dry by then.”
“No it won't, Pavi.”
You tilted your head down at him, trying to get him to meet your eyes. His fingers tightened around your arm, but he wouldn’t look at you.
“I’ll figure it out, okay? It'll still look pretty…”
“Hey, it's fine, it does look pretty—” The words caught in your throat as he reached up with his free hand, his fingertips brushing your face.
“…What is it?” you managed to mumble out, surprised by his sudden touch. His palm moved to cup your face, hand warm. When he opened his mouth, his voice was just warm.
“Could you stay? Just a little longer — it'll be worth it, I promise.”
There were a lot of things you wanted to say to Pavitr, as he waited for your response, but “no” wasn't one of them.
“Okay.” You tried smiling, feeling his palm against the soft of your cheek. “I'll trust you. Just don't tickle me."
There was a slight light-heartedness to your words, and he mirrored your smile. His was always slightly boyish and a little crooked, but somehow managed to hold the entire world in it.
“Thank you, chellam,” he murmured, touch lingering for just a moment before he dropped his hand. You’d never heard him call you that before.
“…What did you just say?”
“Beta!”
Auntie's voice rang out from the kitchen before he could answer, and you caught the playful glint return to his eyes as he turned to shout back.
“I'm almost done!” You raised an eyebrow at him as he turned to look at you again. “Huh?”
“Chellam?” you repeated, noticing the way his eyes, and his smile, widened when you said it.
“En chellam,” he replied, giving your cheek a soft pinch. You couldn’t hold back your snicker this time.
With your heartbeat in your ears, and flirting now in the equation, you knew Pavitr was far from “almost done” with your menhdi. He still had the rest of your arm to do, and a little mistake to fix, but it was okay, you thought. He’d figure it out — for you.

inspired from the ask: "Coryo feeding desi!reader with his hands while her mehendi dries"
—desi! brat(-ish)! reader x soft(-ish)! friends! Coryo Snow 💌—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Coryo,” you whine, your lips forming a small pout as you look at the blonde man. Coryo rolled his eyes at you when you didn't notice it. He didn't understand the point of festivals he was asked to join though he did appreciate the cultural aspect of it all.
Your house was getting decorated with flowers and whatnot, each servant and family member busy perfecting everything for the holud ceremony being held in your house.
Coryo sighed when you whine his name again in the same bratty tone (the one he wished to fuck out of you). “I will do no such thing,” Coryo said, “It's improper, you're not a child.”
The pout doesn't leave your lips and it takes every ounce of his self-control not to lean forward and kiss you. “Please!” You requested, “Come on, yaar! I haven't eaten anything since morning!” “And that's not on me,” Coriolanus replied simply.
You huff like the spoiled brat you are. “Fine!” You said, standing up from your seat, “I'll ask Sejanus!” “He will understand the struggle, the henna will take time to dry.” You add, now close to walking past him and outside the bedroom to find Sej.
“Sit down,” Snow said, his eyes flashing in anger but his eyes cold. Despite a hint of alarm flashes in your mind, you knew he gave in to you. Coriolanus didn't like being challenged, the fact you were going to Sejanus. You knew he wouldn't like that, even if you aren't his girlfriend but just a friend (for now) he would be jealous nonetheless.
You grin in triumph and get back to your seat. In front of you was a small table and a tray filled with various plates of food. Specifically, a dessert that you want to try right now but are unable to due to the wet henna tattoos on your hands. His eyes flicker to the patterns you had drawn on your skin, various patterns seemingly meaningless yet so damn pretty. He knows that the result will turn out great and will only make you much prettier, too pretty for his sanity to survive.
He sits down beside you, picking up a bowl with what looks like carrots but he never saw anything like it before. Seeing his confusion, you explained, leaning towards sarcasm near the end, “It's Gajoer Halua, a carrot-based sweet dessert. Now please bless me and feed me, Coryo.”
He chuckles, feeling amused by your behavior, unable to help himself as he replies “Why should I? You're not deserving of blessings. You're a brat.” A brat he will take soon enough, no doubt on that. You rolled your eyes, “Pretty please, or else I'll smear all of this,” you flicked your eyes at your mehndi-covered palms (henna), “all over your damn face.”
If it was someone else, he would have thought it was teasing or bluffing but you? Yeah, you definitely would do it if he continued to drag this out any longer. He takes a spoonful of the vibrant orange dessert, he has the urge to coo you to open your mouth like one would to a child. But he was above that silliness so he said nothing, his eyes cool despite the fact his heart seemed to be going haywire when you leaned in to eat. You wink at him as you taste the halwa on your tongue, the sweetness dancing in your mouth.
“That's a good boy,” you grin, “Thank you, Coryo.”
‘Fuck. Fuck. Fuck,’ Coryo thinks, as a blush emerges on his cheeks from the praise. He shouldn't like the way you said it, a tad bit degrading but a compliment nonetheless. He shouldn't like that he wants to hear more thank yous (and 'good boys' but he will never admit that).
Coriolanus Snow thought of you as a friend and dreamed of you as a girlfriend but in reality, you'll be the end of him.
